Old but gold!

This is the natural predecessor to Cyberpunk. Everything about this game reminds me of it. It's excellent so far. You can tell it's a port though by the game controls, the camera is a little wonky.

It just isn't very good despite what fanboys on the internet tell you. Punching out 20 dudes in a tedious and unrealistic fight really isn't that cool or fun. Some British youtuber with a room temperature IQ said this game was amazing which now makes sense considering his cognitive abilities.

I mean at least his tattoos look kind of cool. Winston was the best.

Finished the game in 16 hours and I gotta say for a game that is more than a decade old it was an amazing experience and this game is better than a lot of the newer games we get today. The characters have great personalities and the story is very immersive, you really feel like an undercover cop and also Chinese street gangster that is juggling 2 different lives and goes from extorting money from street vendors to playing in the big leagues with high ranking triads, and all of that while in the beautiful city of Hong Kong which the devs nailed. Not to mention the simple but AMAZING combat system which feels better than most games today, nothing feels better than to run at a group of 10 thugs with a spinning jump kick. The gun play was alright, it could've been a little better if you could transition from "gun mode" to melee faster but it was still enjoyable and surprisingly there is a variety of cool guns. The only complaint I have is that the game didn't last longer and that there will be no sequel to sleeping dogs. 11/10 wish I could erase my memory and replay.

For a game that came out a year after GTA V, there is such a stark difference in quality across the board; from actual game stuff like the terrible camera, wonky ass driving and controls to gameplay issues like the bad batman knockoff combat and the super tired cookie cutter open world BS. I never played this at release, so coming in now feels like such a time warp (in a bad way), and I just can't get myself to play this game any more. It's the world/overall mechanics of crackdown with martial arts sprinkled in, and I wasn't dazzled by the finishers enough to give this a thumbs up.

'The Definitive Edition": is this game, but it definite-tively sucks ass in comparison. Got the other version, its a console reskin, looks like total asshole.

My two favorite parts of the game the repeatable "Death By Thousand Cuts" and "Fists of Fury", are turned into single one off basically impossible non-repeatable tasks instead. fuck you square enix

The fact that I can't get all achievements because I bought the game in Germany is really annoying though, as I would have loved to 100% the game.

Fun for its time. I recall combat being particularly fun. May be worth picking up on sale if you are a die hard fan on the genre.

Probably one of my favourite open-world story based games ever made, there's just something about Sleeping Dogs that's hooked me in and had me come back to play and 100% it on multiple consoles and PC.

Where should i start, amazing Game for it´s Age and it does Show it Flaws, expecially if you want to 100% it.
Enemie Spawns can be straight up Terrible, they spawn right next to you and shoot you with a SMG.
Runs Amazing on the Steam Deck tho and it has been one of my best experiences so far.
Story is really good and way deeper than i thought at first, it is not a GTA Clone at all!
Holds up extremely well in terms of Graphics and Gameplay choices, i really loved the Combat System in the Game, kinda sad that it didn´t sell well back then i would´ve loved a Part 2.

I would definetly Recommend this to most People that enjoy an Action Packed Game.
+1 for adding all of the Collectibles on the Map.

The game is wonderful, one of the best GTA-like-game, but NOT FOR GERMANY!!!!!! I really don't apreciate that such coll games are censored and we in Germany get cr*p cut version!!!! I really would like one day see normal version of Sleeping dogs in Germany

This is a fun Grand Theft Auto-like in a different setting. Get it on sale and it's worth it.

Now this is how you make an action game

As a German, I have a bugged version of this game, a cheap-cut content version. I find it difficult to enjoy this game due to its frequent bugs. and that I can't obtain 11 achievements because I would need the definition edition, which I cannot buy in Germany. If I had known that, I wouldn't have bought or even played for 29 hours.

I enjoyed it. Hong Kong seems nice.

Great game. Essentially GTA in Hong Kong. 8/10

My favourite open world crime game second to Saints Row 2. Silly game, feels almost like what Saints Row 3 should have been. Great protagonist, fun enough characters. Little gunplay, and the gunplay it has is great. Driving is phenomenal and feels ultra responsive even in the worst shitbox truck

This western version of Yakuza/Like a dragon is pretty damn great!

Haven’t played this in a while but I still remember mashing an enemies face into a fan. It gory and brutal. Reminds me of hard boiled.
