Falls short of its earlier game due to poor level design especially the moon bs

Greatly appreciated how MachineGames brought Wolfenstein back 10 years ago - while I don't love some of the annoying objectives to unlock upgrades I appreciated the level design, combat sequences, story, and stealth mechanics. Was a great game in 2014 and still is today.

The graphics, story and interface work well and it is an engaging FPS. I am not as impressed with the progression process which requires accomplishing specific tasks with the various weapons in order to improve. This is a personal preference. In general I would recommend this game for anybody who enjoys FPS.

You know this is based on fictional history since Nazis won the war yet are still considered the bad guys. That has never happened in the real world.

1. Very good story and fast fps game.

2. It takes less than 12 hours to complete the main story on medium difficulty settings.

Wolfenstein: The New Order is a game where the main character, Blazkowicz, does what he does best: turning Nazis into recyclable trash. It’s got everything: laser cutters, dual-wielding guns, an alternate history where Nazis took over the world, and even giant robo-dogs!!!

The story is pretty solid, especially if you’re into the idea of a serious guy saving the world. As for the gameplay, your love for shooting and explosions will be well rewarded. Plus, there are moments where you can just sip coffee and chat with NPCs — before diving back into annihilating an army of Nazi cyborgs.

In short, it’s a game about how much you can accomplish if you have enough ammo and charisma.

this was an amazing game start to finish! very tragic, very epic combat and most of all very good gore and boss battles and jumpscares galore! i highly recommend this!

I think this game has a beautiful story and I'll try the other new versions..!

Do you own a AMD GPU? (might also work on Nvidia) You want higher than native resolution for this game?
Set virtual super resolution to ON in Adrenalin and in windows set that resolution. Now when entering windowed or fullscreen Wolfenstein, its able to run at that res. 5K wolfenstein is pretty awesome.

I hadn't played this since 2014, thought I'd run through it again on easy mode just to enjoy the story. I forgot how good this was. Definately recommend it,

If you enjoy sneaking around and killing Nazis, I think you will enjoy this game. I enjoy the detail they put into the different environments—all of the nooks and crannies encourage exploration.

I don't much like FPS games.

Wolfenstein's approach is to add some weapon and enemy variety, hide collectibles throughout levels, and throw in a perk system where perks are unlocked by demonstrating certain skills while playing. Health is a hybrid of regenerating and health packs.

It works, and reminds me a bit of Resistance: Fall of Man and other shooters that tried to cling to older mechanics while bringing them more in line with 21st century shooter expectations. But it's still just a shooter. Cranking up the difficulty I found made enemies spongier and ammo counts more restricted, which honestly just wasn't fun. I recommend playing at lower difficulty levels to shut your brain off and enjoy the pretty colors while you vaporize natsies.

More of what is offered in the Old Blood and then some.
It takes place in the 60s but everything has advanced into a high tech scifi world of Nazi rule.
You have access to more high tech weapons while you are bombarded with nazi cyborgs from hell and the like.
FPS is intense but I find it funny how you can camp in this game and easily clear areas.
Typical dumb AI from this generation of gaming but still fun!

Forthwith will be my first ever game review, I figured I would try on a game I at least 100%’d and enjoyed.

Wolfenstein really took a theme (alternate history and weird tech) and made a hell of an immersive experience for an FPS.
Exploding, shooting and stabbin Nazis exceptionally well done, with the decent variety of weapons and locations.
I love the dual wielding makes you feel like a WW2 doom slayer.
The ability to lean around corners feels like it should be in every FPS.
I also love when a game is interspersed with secret areas and collectibles, I had a good time figuring out most of them.

What I feel is a massive, missed opportunity is why the protagonist Blaskowicz is so unkillable – as awesome as his badassness is I just think not moving for almost a decade would amount to muscle loss, not to mention other crazy injuries he sustains and then forgets about.
There was such an awesome potential story there, imagine this – BJ gets captured by Nazis and they experiment on captured POW’s for the Uber Soldier serum, most of the subjects die violent explosive deaths but for some reason BJ’s system takes to this serum and gets Captain America regen powers – which would be so much impactful story plot instead of him.... just being superhero for no reason. At least thats what I would have done, (Bethesda feel free to contact me)

Back to gameplay its more and more rare to get a simple shooter like this that goes for hard topics but doesn't take them too seriously, while constantly giving you more intense action set pieces to bash through.
The stealth elements I am mixed on. On one hand it is awesome to have the option to go in quiet but on the other hand the game really shines when you are spotted and must shoot your way out.

I think especially today you will get your monies worth if you are looking for an epic shoot out through alternate history.

A fun reboot for the Wolfenstein franchise. Better than the sequels and the prequel that came after. At its current price of $20, it's a good buy even for 2024.

This game presents a convincing argument that the best way to improve the world is to remove Nazis from it. I agree with this thesis.

It was short and mediocre (mostly bad) for the most part. I appreciate the straight forward approach, but not so much when it comes to the level design and the props. I feel like the developers could have done so much more with the maps that they had, but they chose not to. They recycled the same maps, environments, and the props over and over again, to a point where you won't be able to differentiate the first hour of the game to the last. The segment set on the moon in particular was incredible exciting which soon after turned jarring because of the reason mentioned above.

The story was awful, and the constant hunt for ammo, health packs, and the armor sucked even more. On the controller, it was even more awful, having to look down every other second to pick something up was very tedious (looking down is how I spent most of my time playing this game). Looking straight up didn't pop up the pick ammo/health prompt most of the time either.

On the weapon side of the things, they force you to use that plasma cutter from the very get go. After acquiring almost 20 upgrades (yes, mostly for that gun, while upgrades for other guns were far few and scarce or even non-existent) for it throughout the game, it sucked even more. The gameplay choices revolved around using your 20 times upgraded plasma gun to annihilate big robot enemies, cut through metal and armor all till the very end of the game (where 99% of the enemies were heavily armored), thus forcing you to use that stupid gun for the majority of the last half of the game.

On the bright side, the gunplay was good, and the fast paced nature of the combat didn't disappoint. If the game was any longer, it would have sucked, and I am very glad that it concluded when it did. The most exciting part for me, was the end, when the game ended.

Great continuation of the story ! A must buy and complete.

Do you love high quality games with good campaigns? Do you like feeling like a badass? Do you like blowing the faces off of Nazis? This is the game for you!

WOW. The quality of the writing, especially the dialogues and the characters, it's top notch, and the voice acting is close to perfection. I haven't been this impressed since Mass Effect 3.

Great game, lots of action, absorbing store, characters you can get behind and a shed load of enemies to kill. what more do you want from a game, right.

Wolfenstein: The New Order is a game that creates an interesting atmosphere. Each chapter is unique, making the game engaging. Some textures look old, but the visuals are still excellent.

The gameplay is exciting, with smooth combat that keeps players focused. The mix of shooting and simple stealth adds variety to encounters. To enable in-built anti-aliasing, open the console in-game (Ctrl + ~) and type: r_multisamples x (replace "x" with the value you want, like 2, 4, or 8).

In conclusion, Wolfenstein: The New Order provides a captivating experience. It is a notable shooter with a rich atmosphere and engaging gameplay.

One of the most satisfying gun-fighting I have experienced, ever changing unique mission locations, and fun combat scenarios made even better by the music being played.
The graphics have aged but not too extremely.

Highly recommendable as long as you are comfortable with some revolting/gory/sexual scenes and Nazis (duh)

Absolutely awesome game from start to finish, absolutely destroys it's sequel.

Full on action and enjoyment while riding big robots, submarines or even going to space. Amazing!

- The game does not support monitors with high refresh rate. The maximum refresh rate is locked at 60 and cannot be unlocked without third-party tools.
- The game does not support ultra-wide monitors. The user interface is always misaligned, so I can't even see the game's hints.

Excellent game with good graphics and captivating narrative and atmosphere. The alternate history viewpoint is what interested me in buying this game. Well worth playing even in 2024.

It does what it says on the tin. The man from Del Monte, he say yes. That'll do Pig, That'll Do.

Game so linear it hurts. Most of your time playing will be spent looking around for needlessly hidden objectives, and when u are actually in combat most of the levels are just a battle of who can absorb the most bullets, with enemies so spongy it makes fallout 4 look like tarkov. the firefights mainly consist of you trying to shoot enemies really far away with your crappy ironsights or when the game finally gives u a scoped dmr and 10 (being generous) bullets the basic soldiers still take 2 headshots to kill.

Overall: Bad but could be fun if you're a masochist

Great game -- was looking for something to scratch the same itch as Doom and this was it.

Super fun game, enjoyed the graphics, story, voice acting, and overall the game.

About 7 hours in length if you know what you are doing (I didn't, took me 11 hours)

Total nazi annihilation. Kill nazis. Behead nazis. Roundhouse kick a nazi into the concrete. Crucify filthy nazis. Defecate in a nazi's food. Launch nazis into the sun. Toss nazis into active volcanos. Judo throw nazis into a woodchipper. Twist nazis' heads off. Report nazis to the resistence. Karate chop nazis in half.

It's a very atmospheric game, a great shooter, and a great story. The only downside is that 99% of the Nazis are drawn as stupid evil monsters, but that, I guess, is the Wolfenstein spirit and does not affect gameplay. I prefer a more balanced approach.

Absolute fun game, great shooting action, wide array of weapons and mods for them, and it also tugs at your heartstrings with a very well written and voice-acted story. There is also a good variety of biomes and settings, and also enemies.
