really fun if you like first person shooters
certainly above average despite being buggy (bethesda game) and the gameplay at times being genuinely awful (bethesda game)
If you have a new gen computer like me there isn't any way to avoid screen tears except to minimize the game's window, which is a nuisance.
Anyway, slaughtering Nazis is pretty fun in this somewhat silly action-packed story. It scratches an old alt history itch of mine and didn't disappoint much. The scenarios can be funny. Overall pretty fun as someone who tends not to play shooters. Looking forward to the sequel.
Enjoyable. I played the entire game on 'I AM DEATH INCARNATE!' until the final mission. I couldn't beat the final boss until lowering the difficulty by one. I'm such a wee coward fer that, but who cares. The game was fun either way!
Good graphics, good game play
Good story like it but not the ending but nothing that was bad tbh
Great game. Great story, good gameplay, good enough graphics, quite good music. Can recommend.
I don't like shooter games, but I really loved this one. There's something about drowning a Naz1 in his own piss that brings a smile to my face, even all these years later. Completely recommended.
This game is so cool. By far the best FPS I've played, everything was perfect.
Good game! It still holds up well in 2025, if you can ignore some odd texture blurring and iffy models here and there. It was a 20-hour campaign well-spent.
I'm probably dating myself here, but the original Wolfenstein 3D was one of my very first two DOS games (the other being Prince of Persia), and I enjoyed the small nods to the original here (including a full level recreated as a "nightmare" easter egg!) In terms of gameplay, this is a well-balanced shooter, though I think I liked regular gunfights against large groups of enemies as opposed to either the stealth segments or boss fights. Like any true Wolfenstein game, it's still at its best when you're laying waste to hordes of Nazi soldiers, without it all feeling too easy or too hard.
The story is good - not great, but given the over-the-top setting and concept, I was sufficiently impressed that the more serious character moments consistently hit. There are some good dramatic moments, some good quiet moments, and some honestly fair reflections on why one fights Nazis to begin with. In this day and age, it's good to come back to a game that knows who the bad guys you need to shoot are.
Okay, okay. So you put a Nazi on the Moon. Fuck you, Moon.
Such a good game, definitely recommend
Very nice FPS experience, love how the gun feels and how smooth it is to slain enemies. This game also has a very creative use of your camera, making you sit in uncomfortable positions and make difficult choices.
A game about killing the kinds of people that used to know how to build cars, unlike these new electric ones.
This is in all honesty one of the best games I’ve ever played. The story is beautiful, the atmosphere is unforgettable, and the gameplay is fantastic. The ending cutscene is the greatest moment I’ve ever seen in a video game.
I have an undying love for this game.
Beautiful game, I rarely play shooters because of the gore and violence, but this felt more like a cleaning simulator. It did not feel too violent to play as you're not killing humans.
TOP 10 GAMES this was the first game i played on my xbox one, i was like 7 and a little stupid i remember the game being stupid difficult, however ive since returned and my first playthrough on pc i beat it on UBER with zero difficulty and feel awesome, the literal only complain i have with this game is that its locked to 60, im normally super picky with fps in games but i couldnt even tell it was locked to 60
the story is also extremely enjoyable

A fun B-movie nazi-killing action romp with some genuine emotion. Graphics and gameplay still hold up well enough in 2025, some possible triggers for war-based PTSD, but in the current political climate the reminder that nazis are evil is nice in itself.
Well, this game feels like it's truly a game of its time, as the themes, dialogue, and things that happen feel out of the norm for nowadays games. I liked that, it wasn't afraid to say or show things that could be deemed 'offensive' or too brutal now or whatever.
There are two highlights in this game, first, the combat and by extension, the maps, and item collecting, it's pretty fun. The combat wheel isn't the greatest but it will do. The laser weapon is sick and probably too strong but considering what you are up against, it's only fair to wield such a machine.
The second highlight is the characters. To be honest with you, I didn't expect to feel attached or to feel any sort of admiration or liking for any character in a game where you shoot nazis. I expected it to be run-of-the-mill gun go brrr but fortunately, I was wrong. There are quite a few nice moments in there and in the little time spent in that world, the game manages to tie you into everyone's own stories and make you care for them. Character, heroism, and self-sacrifice.
My favorite part was probably, and spoilers ahead, the underwater occult stuff, I loved it.
All in all, this is a solid, fun shooter that will surprise you with the lengths some people will go to when they are fighting for what they believe in, on both sides.
TLDR: If you like fast-paced shooters, and a great story, characters, voice acting & audio design to go along with it then this if for you. iDTech 5 is a bit of a pain and it might not run as well as it should – but it’s absolutely worth it. It has become one of my fav FPS ever in one single playthrough. Strongly recommended!
Make no mistake: although this is MachineGames’s first outing, the studios was founded on the ashes of Starbreeze Studios – responsible for the Riddick games & The Darkness. Both are FPS games with a very interesting and unique take on the genre. They’re no rookies. Lemme tell you: this is a cult classic in the making.
Wolfenstein: The New Order does exactly what you think it would: you basically shoot nazis for 14-16h often with extreme prejudice. The gameplay, and most importantly, gunplay shares a lot with Starbreeze’s previous games – expect way faster. By extension, TNO also has decent stealth mechanics which allow you to approach a fight in a couple different ways, it almost feels like an immersive sim at times.
TNO also shares a lot of qualities with Doom 2016 – not just because they’re both iD franchises mind you: they’re both incredibly fun, they’re both “boomer shooters”, they both share a composer (The now legendary Mick Gordon) and they’re both a successful reinvention of their respective franchise.
I’m gonna say it like it is though: I enjoyed the hell out of Doom 2016, but in my opinion The New Order just did it better, hands down.
The reason being that I did not expect a Wolfenstein game to have a great story. I did not expect to actually care about its characters. I did not expect it to be thoughtful, let alone thought-provoking. Doom 2016 on the other hand played it safe, and its narrative is a joke. Don’t even get me started on Eternal that tries to do more or less the same thing as TNO narrative-wise, and fails spectacularly.
Simply put, Wolfenstein: The New Order is an absolute banger – amazing gameplay, story, characters, writing, music & sound design, voice acting... The whole nine yards.
There is but one blemish: the iDTech 5 engine. It looks good for the most part, but iDTech 5 is known for its very own technical quirks and TNO sadly suffers quite a bit from those. I could not achieve a stable 2160p60 on a 5800X3D & 3060ti, though I later upgraded to a 3080ti that can do it no problem. iDTech 5’s Megatextures are also on the menu, and if you’ve played Rage then you know what it means – texture pop-in is unavoidable.
I only jumped into the “new” Wolf games recently, and I can safely say that I’ve been missing out for just about ten years. This is now one of my favourite FPS games ever.
If you like Starbreeze previous games, alternate-history, fast-paced shooters and/or a good story to go along with your Nazi-killing – give it a shot. Very strongly recommended!
Great game with good mechanics! didn't come across any glitches per se too!! It has a very engrossing story line with the alternative history aspect. Cudos to the creators :D
Just replay the last mission on Uber and do everything else on the lowest difficulty if you really want it easy
(I did it on death incarnate cause I'm that good B))
This is one of my favorite games ever. The story is fantastic and the music is awesome. I loved every heartbreaking scene and some of my favorite videogame character are in here.
Had to beat the whole game in one sitting because when i tried to exit, the game called me a coward! :'(
I played this back when it came out expecting it to be an exciting and fast-paced shooter with pulpy writing. While I certainly got that, I was also surprised by some pretty deep characters and slick cutscene direction that fully won me over.
Fast forward almost 10 years later and after the release of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, I remembered that I still hadn't played the New Colossus and only had vague memories of really liking New Order, so I figured I would replay this one. Wouldn't you know it: it owns bones.
If you have V-Sync issues, I believe I ended up having to force it on my GPU to get it to work, though I would look for a better community guide/forum that can explain it better. Other than that it ran perfectly.
Interesting twist on WW2 history, but a fun run and gun game.
This game understands how to make you care about the people in it. That also means that the villains are genuinely horrifying, with a personal connection between Blasko and Totenkopf.
The former keeps returning to what the latter did to him in his mind. The light inside is gone. He doesn't enjoy what he does. He barely seems to let the real world into his articulated thoughts, which crumble into ever shorter cryptic soundbytes, trying to make sense of what he's lived through, and failing. He's becoming a corpse animated by routine.
That's where the people in the resistance come in. Anya is the central figure making him believe that there could be a life worth feeling, but every one of them has a story trying to find warmth in a cold world, and that's what binds them. You really feel that in their Kreisau hideout.
None of this overstays its welcome or gets in the way of fun. The story is a great motivating factor for the action.
If you only have the time for one Wolfenstein, this is the one to play.
The game features a very dynamic gameplay set in a dystopian world ruled by Nazis. Combat feels very fast and the battles are often quite hard, possibly forcing you to die and respawn a few times before you get through a level on normal difficulty. Shouldn't be surprising, since you're literally one man against a whole army of Nazis (with superior technology on top of that). I would say the visuals are pretty solid, without causing any significant performance issues. Of course, there's a lot of blood and gore displayed on the screen. The soundtrack fits the game greatly. And the story, it is just as dynamic as the gameplay. You play as an American soldier/spy known as B.J Blazkowicz, who falls in coma during one of his battles with Nazi soldiers. Many years later he wakes up and realizes the world is now ruled by a cruel Nazi regime and thus, he decides to fight again, the same way he did before his accident. All in all, I think it's a solid game that I would recommend.
Went in to this with no expectations other than being able to kill some nazis. I got to kill lots of em. Graphics hold up okay, nothing special. Gunplay is extremely fluid and keeps you going at the enemy. Pretty linear gameplay, but ultimately a nice change of pace in 2025 where everything feels like an unfinished indie game. This one feels polished, AAA, and a decent story for once. Definitely interested in the rest in the series.
Extremely satisfying shooter with great writing on top of it. A few problems here and there and the higher difficulties just make you take more damage, but nonetheless it's great. Blaskowicz is a relatable protag even though at first he comes off as just another bland shooter main character.
This game offers a number of innovative solutions for dealing with fascists in situations of high conflict.
Solid shooter, got that old boomer shooter feel with better graphics and a wacky as hell but fun story.
It gets surprisingly emotional at times in the story. Gunplay is fun, game does drag a bit long for my taste, for shooters I typically like a solid 10 hours, this went a bit beyond that, but that's not a huge issue was still very enjoyable.
At $20 very much worth the pick up but often goes on sales it seems.

Wolfenstein: The New Order is a masterpiece of storytelling, action, and world-building. MachineGames successfully revitalized the legendary franchise, blending intense FPS gameplay with a gripping, emotional narrative.
What makes it great?
✔️ Engaging Story – A compelling alternate history where the Nazis won WWII, featuring well-developed characters and deep emotional moments.
✔️ Fluid Gameplay – A perfect mix of stealth and high-octane gunplay, with satisfying weapons and brutal takedowns.
✔️ Memorable Characters – B.J. Blazkowicz isn’t just a one-man army; he’s a complex protagonist with depth. The supporting cast is also excellent.
✔️ Fantastic Level Design – From bombed-out cities to moon bases, every environment feels unique and immersive.
✔️ Great Soundtrack – A mix of eerie, atmospheric tracks and adrenaline-pumping combat music.
If you love FPS games with a strong narrative and rewarding gameplay, Wolfenstein: The New Order is a must-play. One of the best shooters of its generation! 🔥💥
Kinda crazy to think that "killing Nazis is a good thing, actually" is a hot take these days, but here we are. Reminder that killing a Nazi isn't murder. It's just taking out the trash.
Side note that the graphics haven't aged super great, but the experience is overall enjoyable.
Excellent with good replay value too. Still looks good in 2025.
This game offers an intriguing alternate universe with a captivating aesthetic. The combat stands out as particularly enjoyable, especially when adopting the "gunslinger" style. However, the characters lacked depth, and the choices felt more like illusions rather than real decisions. Overall, it's a solid experience deserving a 7.5/10.
A fairly luke warm recommendation. Its not my normal type of game but a decent shooter. The time skips or cuts between levels was a bit strange but the gameplay was enjoyable. I player on death incarnate and to turn down difficulty but likely just cause i mediocre at shooters. Also includes several sex scene.
Great game. Great story. Love you Blazko. 10/10
A great game that still holds up after 11 years. If you're in the mood for an FPS where you can go ham on fighting Nazis there's no better game to do it than the Wolfenstein series.
Such a great restart to an amazing franchise. The change from the occult to a more machine focus was new and exciting. I wonder what they have planned next for the second installment?
Still a decent shooter. Face paced, solid gameplay.
The double shotgun feature is absolute mayhem of joy.
Still a fun game, quite short, but if it's on a sale, worth your while.
With a current billionaire just thinks it's OK to throw up some Nazi salutes sometimes you feel like B.J. Blazkowicz is needed now more than ever.
Super fun campaign, the story is really good and the weapons are even cooler.
I've played thru this game multiple times, and the game holds up really well. I love the game's plot, soundtrack and also fighting nazi's as a one man army. The only thing that sucks is the game's engine didn't hold up very well, and has problems on AMD systems. It also can't go over 60fps without causing bugs
Wolfenstein: The New Order was a masterstroke of a reboot. It took me unlocking all achievements and playing through the story multiple times with the Old Blood's Context to get me to truly appreciate it. Those that just went through the campaign, and didn't play old blood beforehand are missing out. The game was difficult to get running on windows, but not nearly as difficult with both AMD and NVIDIA cards to run Old Blood on modern windows. InI tweaks are still required, but a lot less of them to get a stable framerate. Difficulty of the game was just right for me, as I played it on "Bring 'em on" and UBER. The gunplay, the enemy and weapon design, the voice acting and story; all are equally a genius interpretation of what a Wolfenstein Game of the 21st century should be. Everything since has been meh to didn't buy because it was a dumpster fire kind of game. This game is nothing like the sequels, it has everything it needs to be perfect and then some.
awesome silly game. great combat, nice boss fights, great story, meh graphics, astonishing sex scenes.
A diffuicult but enjoyable experince, and in the words of another bethesda game "War, war never changes". This game was complete and total war. I dont remember if wolfenstein is connected to Doom or Fallout but I know it connects to one of them, probably doom because of what both games used to be like. I did find the part where you kinda played the classic version of the game within a 3-D space to be very cool and unique. This game was defienlty an experince and it made me cry.
A fantastic resurgence of the grandfather of all FPS games. Who knew killing pixelated nazis in would be just as fun now as it was in 1992
Some of the most potent gunplay in any FPS. The stealth is pretty fun, too (albeit simple). Nazi-killing catharsis
Good characters, with an over the top plot, and easily hateable, but interesting villains. I appreciate fictional nazis for being easy to hate, it makes you want total nazi destruction. type TND for total nazi destruction!!!!
