On second thought, going with clothing-related proverbs wasn't a good idea. But buying this DLC was.

Idea sounds nice on paper but it doesn't work on multiple levels.
Firstly, why bother customizing units that you're meant to very likely lose as core design element of the game.
Secondly, available customizations aren't anyhow meaningful as they're mostly color pallette swaps.

The DLC is mostly just a paid appreciation token for the developers but at the same time the game is not being patched any longer so you're not getting much in return either.

It's pretty good. Adds much needed customization to the game. I personally like giving veteran daughters the red clothing and weapon designs, and giving resurrected daughters the void black eye variation, for immersion. I agree that they could have given more options for clothing shapes, but it's ok if you really like Othercide.

Pretty neat DLC. Not sure if it's worth the full $3.99, but I got it and I'm pretty happy with it.
You don't necessarily NEED it to have fun -- the base game handles that just fine. The ability to make the Daughters look cooler definitely helped my experience, though.

Not worth it:
- the variety of the customization items is bad (most this looks the same or very similar)
- the customization screen GUI is terrible - you don't know what you selected as there is no labels/numbers for selected items.

This DLC absolutely is a scam. But bought in anyways because the main game is good fun but got bland with so little customization, this DLC just adds the bare minimum.

Some nice skins for a few bucks, I see nothing wrong here but to be fair they are completely unnecessary.

Just bought it to support the devs and Othercide.

Tho having a bit of customization is never a bad thing!

There are like 4 times as many options I think now but no hats, like I really want hands and head accessories, and if you guys have the time/budge giving each type a different outerwear choice. LIke imagine a bladedancer sister with just the biggerst blossom from PPGs bow just melting horrors left and right :thumbs_up:

P.S. maybe also consider adding like a scalable particle system so like at each tier they could have more and more so they look they are and MC in an anime once they get all the way type

I love othercide and recommend the game. BUT THIS DLC IS ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH IT! Even on sale. You really get NOTHING for this. You get some eyes that you're rarely going to even see. Some hairs. And some PAINT JOBS for already existing outfits and weapons. There ARE NO NEW WEAPONS OR CLOTHES! This product is a LIE. Wait for modders to get ahold of this game I guarantee you they will make something significantly better for free. As many have said this shoulda just been a free update.

very eye catch and cool outfits great to add some variety to the mix. game deserves more DLC

Bought to support the devs because this is one of my favorite games of all time. I don't even have it installed anymore. I dislike cosmetics, but the game was like 30 bucks when it came out and I never noticed it bugging me with micro transactions. Take my money for imaginary dolls.

"5 Outfit variants for each Daughter archetype" ?
Sorry, just 5 different color schemes/patterns for the base model. Not a single new outfit. I mean for gods sake, scroll up a bit and you'll see a thumbnail showing a Blademaster wearing the SD's clothes. You don't even get that.

"16 weapon skins for each Daughter archetype"
This ones more accurate - get a few new weapon models per Daughter, with several skins for each.

You can now also change hair and eyes. Honestly should've been a free update, but I love this game to death so I'll throw the Devs a few shekels. I'd easily pay more for a legit cosmetics pack.

The way this looked in store was that there were new outfits; this is simply color variants of the existing outfit. This is a scam for a Dlc

There are no new hairstyles, you just get the to pick between them. Eye colors are not worth the price. The new weapon models look lazy and worse than the base game ones. Outfits look okay, but they're just recolors.

Can’t really recommend this. Most of this is only colour swaps, with the limited palette the aesthetics of the game allow for. And I like that colour scheme but that restriction makes the pack that mostly revolves around colour swaps lackluster when there is so little other variation types than the colour in here.

Weapons actually have different models. I like that. Their colour variances are sadly very bland. I mean, this is a single pattern with swapped colours. Maybe some more different patterns next time please? But overall the weapons of the pack are fine. Satisfied with them.

With clothes it’s worse. It’s only colour swaps. Not even patterns, there are some variations in what is coloured on some of them, but still it’s not much. And they aren’t distinct enough from each other.

I also don’t like the eyes. You don’t see them in the game too much, but my problem with them is that the variants here add the colour orange/yellow. They break the colour scheme of the rest of the game. Those eyes aren’t a big part of the models, so it’s not that bad, they just fell disappointing. You could have different shape of the eyes or their rotation. If models are too much, then an illusion of change via shading would be nice (with actually i think is here the outline, but again there are just more colour swaps than any other type o variance here).

getting dressed and all without knowing the [Player] is just preparing you to be sacrificed because the *better* Daughter is wounded.

HUGE SCAM
If you thought this DLC could allow you to use the clothes of the Scythedancer on your Blademaster like it is proudly SHOWCASED ON THE VISUAL of "The Beauty Will Remain update" : NOPE you can't do that.

This really should've been a free update. There really are not enough customisation options to justify charging us for it (the outfits especially are just different colour palettes for each class, not actual different outfits).

I'm not sure I like the patterned weapons, but the new weapon models and outfits are actually great and add some variety to the mix.
Changing hairstyles and eyes is my favourite part about this though.
You see them often enough if you backstab/interrupt a bunch after all.

Speaking of backstabs.
The new weapon skins currently aren't reflected in the backstab/interrupt cinematics, but I'm sure that'll be fixed quickly.

UPDATE:
As expected, the cinematics bug was fixed immediately. Nice!

Bought it as soon as it was available.
The price is very fair for more customization of your blood soaked girls
