В этой гибридной игре, в которой необходимо защищать башню/действовать сверху вниз, играйте за Беллатора, первого в своем роде алхимически усовершенствованного суперсолдата, чтобы сражаться против захватчиков, оказавшихся в ловушке в замке. Окунитесь в замок, расставьте ловушки и башни, экипируйтесь мощным оружием и механизмами и отвоёвывайте землю по частям. Разблокируйте новые способности, ловушки и оружие по мере того, как спасёте выживших, и собирайте утраченные знания.





Десятилетия, наполненные неудачами в достижении конечной цели, связанной с Философским Камнем, привели мастеров Замка Алхимиков к нетерпению, они потеряли свою добродетель и совершили ужасную ошибку. Чтобы ускорить выпуск Magnum Opus они начали изучать еретическое искусство колдовства. Вместо того, чтобы найти Философский Камень, они открыли порталы к неизвестным элементным царствам, наполняя наш мир злобными существами.

Сражайтесь с захватчиками огненного царства в кузницах, очищайте големов Земных Царств от мин, продвигайтесь по залам, переполненными существами Ледяного Царства. Здесь присутствует множество врагов с различными отличительными способностями, сопротивлениями и слабостями с целью улучшения игрового процесса и вынуждения изменения Вами своей тактики для решения постоянно меняющихся челленджей, окружающей среды и различных целей; предотвращения побега захватчиков, защиты ценных активов для спасения пойманных в ловушку мастеров и их учеников; с целью предложения свежих декораций по мере того, как Вы продвигаетесь по замку.





Стройте защитные башни с целью размещения полуавтоматических баллистов, револьверных пушек или мощных пулемётов Гатлинга. Устанавливайте ловушки, включая смертоносные шипы, пламенные столбы, кислотные души, метатели вращающихся дротиков и многое другое. По мере Вашего прогресса разблокируйте обновления и такие различные версии Вашей защиты, как изменённые пушки, с целью добавления пушечным ядрам вращения таким образом, чтобы они имели способность рикошетить от земли с увеличенным радиусом действия; наносите яд на свои шипы, что так же приводит к замедлению, и так далее.



Используйте синергию ловушек и своих способностей; расширяя радиус действия своей электрической турели, установив её среди других металлических ловушек, смачивайте их струями воды и замораживайте пузырьками с нитратом аммония, если они прибывают быстро и в большом количестве! Используя ловушки и способности одновременно, откройте для себя и разблокируйте множество других комбинаций.

please consider for your fantastic game

ability to create custom buildout / loadout in the armory so we can have a " electric hydro build " and a " oil furnace build " without having to manually switch each mission. same with the loadout for traps.
a button to sort based on rarity, weight, also. what is there is really useful already.

tell us how to earn each skull on a mission, is 1 for no lives lost, 1 for time limit etc?

is acrobatics using your spacebar/dive? if so then what is " x triggers on 'hop vs acro' " ?

ability to scroll in and out to see more of the map - mouse wheel?

level 5 advanced training for those that dont have the perk upgrade yet!

change the sound of clockworks, when deploying 4 every 10-15 seconds it gets a bit annoying

maybe designed this way on purpose:
ability to bring in both types of a certain trap to battle. for example " ceiling dart trap, and ceiling electric trap "
ability to bring in only one weapon saving lots of weight and playing risky, with heavy usage on clockworks, flasks,trap.barrel..
gain exp even for losing a match

If you like making big-brain builds, Doom, and TD games, then this is quite the treat. However, the game's UI has been pretty buggy as of this review. Lots of notification icons that end up being nothing, and even some of the traps have missing stats and the wrong animation previews. IMO it's an easy fix and just not a big deal since the actual gameplay works fine.

The idea is good, Orcs Must Die in 2D it just lacks that something that doesnt make it JUST a 2D reskin of OMD. Randomness of weapon upgrades is just dumb, no experience after failed attempt is demotivataing and makes me close the game everytime i fail the run instead of trying again with differnet tactics.
Variety of the traps, atleast at the beginning ot he game, leaves no room for different approach, because You lack the opptions, You just take everything they give You.
It can be a good game, it just needs some reworks, especially in metagame, but ATM i can't recommend it.

A great combination of creative traps, quick ranged/melee combat and a beautiful artstyle. For this price it offers enough content even though it is not yet the 1.0 version.

30% Hero Siege , 60% Bloons TD, 10% Heavy Metal

It's fun, fast, and has a rich upgrade system, with breakneck action.
Some of the controls/camera settings feel a bit counter-intuitive at first, but you get used to them quickly.

Definitely a steal for the sale price, fun 2d topdown Orcs must Die style gameplay except 1 character with stat progression and crafting of different weapons with materials from missions you complete, it's a fun time for $7. Has controller support as well for if you want to play on the Steam Deck

The elemental reaction system is awesome! The fact that different traps interact with each other is a nice touch like wet enemies getting frozen. Adds a fun layer of strategy I wasn’t expecting. One small complaint: respec costs are pretty high, which makes trying out new builds tough.

Castle of Alchemists Early Access Review:

- It's more combat focussed than trap focussed in comparison to Orcs must die. Which is more a taste thing than anyting else I just think it's important to know.
- Customization is depper than Orcs Must Die, including more RPG dept.
- Pixel art looks cool. But you probably knew that by looking at the screen shots
- Synergies in traps, similiar as orcs must die, but more works well
- Strong replay due to point system, and multiple difficulties, but where are the leaderboards? Should be there looking at the steam page but can't find them.

Overall it's quite fun. It's really like orcs must die but a more rpg action spin and overal more dept.

It’s less about just surviving waves and more about getting creative with trap placement and crafting. Only thing is, some of the skill points don’t feel meaningful. Hope they add more interesting upgrades.

"Playing this game felt like I was truly transported to another world. Every corner holds a new danger, and there's a surprise at every turn. progress is based on grinding, not skill
you hit a difficulty wall then just grind meta upgrades until you can proceed
this makes you feel like anyone could do it just by burning hours

contrast this with slay the spire where you start with the same base abilities each time and good decision making (and a bit of luck) can get you through to the end, even with the additional difficulty set to 20

that's not the case here. It doesn't matter how good your decision making is, you will lose maps because you haven't done enough grinding

I'll keep playing to see how the experience opens up but at the moment it feels pretty mentally unengaging

I'm currently in the 2nd map trying at the mission that gives the great-sword. It's a map with very tight, awkward choke-point, and little wiggle room that encountering several lantern magus who can while off-screen turn your game into an actual bullet hell of you dodging back and forth is completely mania inducing. Your only recourse is to check your mini-map, assume the position of the lantern magus, and blind fire your ULT in their direction, or try your best to get close enough to chuck an explosive flask on them.

Wolf riders are crap and lantern magus are literal aids. Are these enemies supposed to be ones I save my ULT for with its 1min cooldown? Enemies should only be able to hit you behind barricades if they're ranged or you're within one block of the barricade. How do you level? Do you only level from completing challenges or beating a map for the first time?

This game is like Orcs Must Die, except that it's much less reliant on the traps and much more on your personal loadout. For example, the aspects that make the most difference in whether you're winning or losing are if you brought appropriate weapons and booby traps (smaller kind in your hotbar with 15 sec cooldowns) and have the skill or, frankly, opportunity to use them when they're most needed.

Sometimes when I'm switching back to my ranged or melee weapon and I'll trying shooting/swinging and I hear nothing happening even after 2secs. I don't know what it is whether it be input delay for clicks or the game isn't registering my clicks for my weapons, but something is certainly wrong and needs to be looked into.

Those general skill upgrades where you get +2% more damage for something and it maxes at 5 is not enticing in the slightest, when you can't even tell how you're supposed to level up. The skill points are given out very sparingly and seemingly randomly. The only mutation people are going to gravitate towards at first is the one that decreases cooldowns by 0.5sec with every crit, as it's the only one you know with certainty is useful 100% of time. The devs should ditch the tiered gear system with it's random chance at modifers and make the mutations more worthwhile and quicker to get.

EDIT: I'm not sure if that was a known issue beforehand, but devs patched in metal grates conducting electricity within a day of my review. It wasn't what got me hung up on the game, but seeing active devs makes me hopeful that they're actually trying to make a fun game. I'll give it another chance come 1.0 release, and put in more time in my review then.

The game is very simple, and doesn't have much going for it. It doesn't feel unique compared to all of the dungeon defenders, orc must die and sanctum games out there.

The game is releasing pretty soon, so I don't think it can do much to improve by then.

Fun good, reminds me a lot of a pixel styled orc must die. Looking forward to the finished product. Though Idk why but the screen shaking/frame rate whenever I scroll through the map or when the character is moving makes me really dizzy like I'm motion sick, hopefully that will be fixed in future patches.

I just finished all of the levels that are currently in the game and overall, I do recommend you check it out if it looks like something you're into. The game is sort of a 2D Orcs Must Die in a very nice pixel art style.

The good -

- Gameplay is fast and responsive

- The pixel art is great

- Traps and weapons FEEL good (More on this later)

- There is a good variety of items

The not so good (Suggestions for development) -

- The menus are a little too stylized for me. It's sometimes hard to know where the interactive elements are sometimes.

- Skill points are a little lacking. None of them are exciting at all, just things like '+2% to physical attack of towers"

- Progression and crafting are just not quite there. Most of the "good" items are given out by the half-way point, and I didn't ever need or want to craft anything again. Not sure I like the "random chance at getting a tier 4 item" system.

- The gadgets/clockwork items need some work. There is a cooldown placed on your weapon when you use any of them that made me hesitate to use them most of the time. In the time that the weapon cooldown takes to clear, I usually could have killed twice the enemies that the item did.

- English localization has quite a few issues. spelling mistakes are still pretty common throughout, but not so much as to be a major issue.

- While weapons and towers FEEL good, most of them are not actually good in-game. I found several weapons and towers to be vastly superior to all the others, so I just stuck with them throughout the whole game. I did try all of them, but the others were just too good. Things like the pendulum trap and revolver blunderbuss feel about right, while everything else feels pretty underpowered.

- Melee is just not super viable when you have so many enemies that shoot. Especially when some guns are just so much better in general.

- The fire wizard guys who place 'totems' with no countermeasure are kind of irritating. The totems just last too long and totally lock you out of their radius.

- I genuinely tried to use elemental stuff (Like lightning), but found it really lacking in comparison to just the basic pendulum, spikes and crates. Flame thrower turret was cool, but all the others were much weaker than I would expect.

All that said, I do recommend the game, especially if you can pick it up on sale. development does seem to be headed in the right direction, so I'm hopeful for this one.

Just finished the campaign for now, only a couple of levels but it is really good when it comes to being able to do whatever you want to enemies, this game has so much potential in its future and im excited for it, plus you can easily replay this game over and over again, especially with the infinite modes, i recommend you give it a try

Castle of Alchemists claims to have full controller support but has partial control support so jerky, delayed, and shaky that it's honestly the worst I have every seen. The motion sickness is real.

Reverting to using a keyboard, Castle of Alchemists is fairly straightforward action tower defense game that's very easy for those who want a simpler style of gameplay. Nothing amazing is going on, place simple traps, use simple weapons and with the issues with controller support, it's sadly hard to recommend.
