We've reported the game for 2016, which now runs at 60 FPS, includes higher resolution textures, better quality cut-scenes, improved audio, higher poly models, numerous fixes and improvements, and trading cards, badges, emotes and backgrounds!
About the game
Players guide Mudokon champion Abe, and his aquatic Gabbit partner Munch, in Oddworld's third adventure, using special psychic powers, cool power-ups, and other special abilities to deliver payback as they reclaim the last gabbit eggs on Oddworld, which have been packaged in a can of gabbiar.
Key features:
Play as a team - players use Munch and Abe cooperatively to make their way through the trials of Oddworld. Leverage both characters' unique strengths:
Abe- Abe can climb and jump to reach new areas, and then run to escape from dangerous enemies. When all else fails, chant to take control of the enemy's soul, and use their guns to clear a path to safety.
Munch - Munch can swim around the new realms of Oddworld. When on the ground, zip along with a wheelchair power up. Need to move some yapping Slogs out of the way? Just use Munch's nifty remote control head port to fire up the crane and drop those Sloggies in their pen.
Special psychic powers - Munch and Abe's psychic powers can extend their reach and get others to do the dirty work:
As Abe - Let Abe's chant roar to take possession of a gun-toting Big Bro Slig and clear almost anything out of the way. Abe can use spooce or spiritual power gained byharvesting SpooceShrubs to posses other creatures as well, but why think small?
As Munch - If Abe can't mesmerize someone into getting the job done, Munch can use his handy remote control head port to hijack nearby machines including cranes, and 50-caliber Anesthesia bots to tackle the really tough obstacles.
Power-Ups – Every friendly character you can find becomes a fighting ally, Fuzzles, Mudokons…. Need to get somewhere quickly or get over a wall, like right now? Use Oddworld's consumer power-ups like Expresso and Bounce to amp up Munch and Abe's abilities to perform cool moves. For the more direct approach, possess high-caliber weapon toting enemies.
Oddworld, now in "new and improved 3D!" - it's a whole new Oddworld, with lush rivers, towering mountains and hundreds of trees that bloom or die.
Interact with dozens of different oddball races - use GameSpeak® to get Oddworld's Inhabitants from the heavily armed Big Bro Sligs to the cute but ferocious Fuzzles) to carry out tricky tasks or just beat the crap out of enemies.

I LOVE ODDWORLD THIS GAME IS SO GOATED!!!!!

Game is great on Xbox, no bugs at all on Xbox. But by god I don't know what they did it to it when transferring it to pc but jesus christ the amount of bugs in this game you could call it a god damn cockroach infestation. I am seriously wondering how they managed to screw this game so hard it made it basically impossible to play not from the controls which are horrible on pc by the way but the visual bugs because the half the time your character is invisible or a hodge podge of level assets stuck together or just a white blinding light and I don't know why. The first levels were amazing and they worked well but then boom the bomb of bugs nuked me and now my game is more buggy then cyberunk 2077 on launch. Overall buy the xbox version not this one.

The story is funny and original, Oddworld is incredibly unique and a fun world to adventure in. I wish more games had this charm. The gameplay holds up to this day, being a mix of puzzle solving, platforming, and some basic combat. Nothing is too difficult in this game, but 100% it is tricky. You can solve most puzzles in more than one way, sometimes being clever, sometimes using brute force.
Sound mixing is weird (some very loud and very quiet sounds) and running controls are a tiny bit janky.
Very few glitches and no crashes while playing. I'd highly recommend this game for an edgy 10 or 11 year old, or one at heart.
8.5/10. This is closer to a port from the OG Xbox than a great remaster like Strangers Wrath, but it's well worth playing. If you had to choose, Strangers Wrath is better and of better quality.
Only thing I didn't like was the tedious egg levels at the end.
The game is really mid.
It still gives a sense of Oddworld at its prime, though to a lesser degree. It still carried a fine balance of realism with the mix of Cartoony. Only at times teetering too far to one another. I am not a believer that Mudokons should have teeth.
The Cutscenes, voice acting, original sound/music, creature designs are amazing. Even with its poor state at release of being a shallow form of its developing fetus. It still had stylistic choices, which stood out, but were even lost in the remaster.
Music is broken, no longer properly becoming more upbeat. As you would gain companions throughout the level, or kick up during chase.
Cartoony sound effects were tossed. In favour of more realistic sound effects. I prefer the old Munch hopping sound.
The visual aspect of characters have once more, gone for a realistic approach in the remaster. Which I feel makes Oddworld less unique, ruining its fine balance. The limitation of the time helped thrive the creative visual appearance at an attempt for realism that could never be. Or styled as compensation.
These new textures of rust and metal ache my brain at how unfitting, and ugly they look. Abe's new model is really bad. The older models had a low poly count, but represented the characters far better. Subtly in it all.
Abe and Munch had distinct corresponding colors that glow in the dark. Their eyes staying lit when in full darkness. Which were once again lost in favour of realistic shading.
I enjoy the premise of the story, even if it wasn't given its real glory.
I would have really liked to see the main cast slowly begin to flourish together. Not just the small amount we had in Cutscenes, but in-game too. They feel slapped together with no depth, outside of the few great sounding Voice lines this game has.
The levels have ideas that sound really good, but never had the chance to develop. Being very repetitive in visual, and Gameplay nature. Particularly the outdoor areas in terms of visuals. It feels like a constant echo in an near empty dome. It gets old.
Gathering of an army and fighting instead of running away is cool. It is a vibe this game is definitely going for at times and I favour it. But when you are also expected to save said army, it causes a tedious loop of save scumming. In the case they happen to take to much damage and feels very counter intuitive to a core Gameplay feature. Making exploration to more tedious methods. Which while safer, is less fun.
The designs for Vikkers and Industrial areas are always appealing. But still clearly suffer from reused areas and ideas.
I did like herding Meep. Not perfect, but one of the few interesting Gameplay outliers.
You can even possess Glukkon's in this game like Abe's Exoddus. But not to the same level of Gameplay, only really for like 8 seconds, unfortunately. Something I would have liked in SoulStorm.
The camera controls in this game are pretty bad. When it comes to more precise platforming it can become hard to judge, based on weird angles, and the camera fighting back. The re centring of the camera whenever you jump does not help.
The Cutscenes are amazing. Sounds, Visuals, Pacing, it all honestly feels right. The ending Cutscenes were done beautifully.
The only one I didn't really like is the one where they fall from great height. It is a bit too comical.
I do not think of it as a bad game. There are games that fit that category better.
It is only 5 Moolah
And it ain't a scam. It has things I believe it did well. It just feels like it needed more time on the burner. Especially in Gameplay and Level Design.
It does not help that this port is of an inferior version to an already barren game. The Original version on Original Xbox is its best taste and state.
If any game needed a remake. It was this one.

Best story of all time
Audio is ungodly, certain things are too quiet while others are too loud. Beyond that, game has not aged well. I found the lack of any sort of camera controls frustrating. I'm sure back when this came out, it was on par or acceptable, but there are so many good games out there now, why waste your time on something that would be considered unplayable by today's standards. If you're here for the nostalgia, I'd say that it looks nice despite the age and probably has the same game play as you remember from your childhood. But, for those who love this era of games and just wanted to give a classic a go, it does not hold up.

I have positive memories of the game from my youth, but unfortunately it hasn't aged well.
The story is cool but the controls are wonky as hell u can move mouse to look arround when standing,but cant move mouse when walking leading to some frustrating moments of u pressing X to focus forward,also game has huge bug when u start playing Munch because it glithes and breaks
Really good puzzle games but really annoying enemies at the end of the game. This game brought nostalgia and I loved playing it.
Very nice dose of nostalgia, and worth it just for the game-speak feature Oddworld does.

A sad remnant of the early 2000s gamedev, when throwing away a perfectly working and polished formula for the sake of going 3D was viewed as a sensible decision. There’s still some signature Oddworld charm here, but good luck digging it out of the generic, uninspired chore of a gameplay, dull environments that all look the same, or a tone-deaf narrative that can’t decide between being funny and being dark instead of seamlessly blending it together like the Abe’s games did.
I remember having a particularly pleasant dream once when I was a kid. In it, the 3rd part of the promised Oddworld Quintology got released, and it was everything an Exoddus lover like me could ever hope for: a new exciting Abe’s adventure that expanded upon the world and iteratively improved the mechanics while keeping the core gameplay exactly as the fans had come to like it. Alas, just like most of the dreams our brains show us, this one had very little to do with reality.
Terrible port takes more effort to get working than worth playing.
Honestly shoping on ebay right now for a classic xbox to play it on.
