A very well developed rhythm based game.
Rhythm games are my favorite and i hold them dear to my heart for i have a deep passion of music. The fact that this game allows for you to import any song of your own preference is ever so captivating and made the experience WAY more enjoyable. You can set the BPM (Beats Per Minute) of your songs to sync them to the beats also allowing you to play at the speed of your liking to ride with the rhythm as you play. The mechanics of the game are pretty simple and easy to get used to.
If you enjoy music while gaming then I highly recommend this game because you really get to experience the feeling of being immersed into the game.
An incredibly fun and fairly difficult shooter. You can add any song you want and it is really fun to jam out and do cool trickshots to.
GOOG
I love this game to DEATH
This game is everything that BPM wanted to be and more, the story is kind of whatever but the gameplay is so fun dude. not only do you have the killer soundtrack, but the fact that you can import your own songs into the game and SYNC THEM TO THE BEAT is never not fun, ESPECIALLY if you have a large collection of music that youve downloaded.
the only real critisizm I have is that the settings and rooms you fight in are very drab, constant muted gray colors with only faint color-corrections to show progression. I wish there were more splashes of color here and there, but thats hardly a reason not to play this game. 9/10 PLEASE PLAY
Awesome music, awesome gameplay. The custom song beat editor is incredibly deep, it's like they made the game as an afterthought to it.
I FUCKING LOVE MUSIC
The controls and game play are very smooth. Each gun has its own charm, adding to combat and the enjoyable music as you feel the rhythm and shoot to the beet, all while dodging, parrying, ground slamming, skating, wall jumping, flying through the air, or just sliding around. this game while quite challenging, will make you feel like a badass, rocking to your favourite tunes with the use of the custom song loader, which works well for songs with consistent beats. Personally i really enjoy the fast paced action, and the challenging verities of enemies. Its a fun quick game to play for some shoot em up fast action.
oonts oonts
Listening to my project sekais while shooting people scratches an itch in my brain I didn't know existed
10/10 would slay to more more jump! again
music shoot
I like
I never paid any attention to the story, but it had a very interesting combat system and fun weapons (besides bouncer), definitely worth the $20
a techno fps dream
fun
great ost, fun to play with to uploaded songs, and genuinely fun game design and progression

i am LOVING this game, while ultra kill is awesome, this hones the right amount of my autism to keep me going for hours on end :3
great soundtrack, fun gameplay, but holy shit do I hate the parry mechanic. what a giant piece of shit. not sure why, it just does not do it for me. and because that one feature is so absolutely important in this game, I can't recommend it.
Mixing Ultrakill, Bullets Per Minute, and plenty of other roguelike mechanics into one game was the greatest idea anyone has ever had. This game is AMAZING
i couldnt recommend this more, its such a great game, if you love ultrakill, you'll love this.
OMG SO GOOD
TL;DR Good game but if you aren't a skilled at rhythm fps and likes to actually finish the game you will be a bit frustrated.
The game is a roguelike but the only progression is:
- Codex: Tells a bit more of the story.
- Songs: The songs dictated how fast you can shoot but it doesn't mean that unlocked songs become faster and faster the farther you get, they are, in the most part, something tied to the story or themed after the level.
- Weapons: As any roguelike you can't actually pick any weapon from the arsenal, they will appear at random, also the new weapons aren't straight up upgrades, some can deal more damage but they have some limitations on how to actually deal good amounts of damage with them.
- Utilities: Same deal as weapons.
So yeah, the most precious progression of the game is your own skill and knowledge of the enemies patterns.
There is no "increase max health", "heal X amount of health at end of each room" or "unlock re-roll on shops", so yeah, pretty much the only thing that matters is you getting better, and it shows, only 3.3% of players beat the game as of writing.
The good:
- The songs are great;
- There are some good concepts for combats such as parry and utilities that allow you to get a free parry;
- It is really satisfying to clean a room up when you are feeling the groove;
- There are some good enemy variety;
- Lots of secrets;
The bad:
- There are some enemies and bosses that require you to dodge or parry melee attacks, if you dodge you extend the battle, if you dodge you run the risk of missing the parry. The melee attacks should be tied to the beat, so, if you parry on beat you are good, but sometimes it seems the parry misses even though you feel like you are doing it on time;
- The game is composed of 4 levels, each having a bunch of rooms and one boss, the game also has 4 difficulty options, the problem is, the difficulty option caps your max level progression, therefore you can only beat the game on the hardest difficulty, and to top it all off on the hardest difficulty you can't use currency to heal before boss fights, lower difficulties allow it, in other words, if you want to have a chance to learn the final boss patterns you better not take any damage on the last level.
Suggestion for the developer:
-Implement the same concept of "pay for a re-roll of options" from the cards into the weapons shop;
-Make the "heal before boss" an optional feature, by default it is always on, if you choose to turn it off you will have some sort of bonus, maybe more currency or better odds of better items;
-Create a "forge room", allowing you to pay for an upgrade of your weapon, maybe even re-roll the bonuses. I like weapon variety but there was some weapons that worked better with my play style and many times I enter a room "oh a gift room, maybe there is something good" and I see something I don't really care much about;
-Create a "sandbox" mode, for training, by default you can enter and use any weapon you have unlocked on a dummy target.
Also on the "sandbox" mode you can summon any common enemy you've defeated before for you to train against it.
I say the "sandbox" is a good option because I got the throwing blade that "splits your shots" and I just couldn't figure out how to use it and I wasn't about to lose a run to try and figure it out.
Finally finished the game after being stuck on the horribly long final boss fight. (only 3.3% of ALL players have beaten the game on Steam)
There are some things I really like about this title and its a great concept as a whole.
but...Holy moley there are some insanely annoying bugs and really stupid mechanics/design choices that make me never wanna play again and really hesitantly recommend it.
Positives:
-movement feels pretty good, slam jumping, wall jumps and dashes all feel pretty solid. near ultrakill levels but not quite as complex and with lower speed
-some weapons are designed fairly well and feel/sound great to shoot on beat
-adding your own music is fun (when it works..ill get to that)
-the first 3 bosses are awesome to fight
-loads of secrets and unlocks
thats about it..honestly, past that its really hard to give the game any more compliments. here is some bugs as well as design choices that really hinder the experience. I'll list bugs first:
- (bug) adding your own music will have it automatically try to guess/fill in the beat spots. out of the 15 songs I added, about 11 of them had serious issues at several points in the song that needed fixing
- (bug) the custom volume slider for songs freaks out constantly and will not save your choice, often resulting in tracks that are super loud or too quite
- (bug) parrying any attack that is not the (!) homing track shots works about half the time.. seriously. parrying on beat is supposed to result in "increased range of the parry" but this also doesnt work for any non homing shot. often making you whiff and take a ton of damage
- (bug) when changing keybinds for equipment, the HUD will show the incorrect prompt no matter what you do
- (bug) jumping will make the beat indicator by the aiming reticle stagger which counts for a shot's beat causing ruined beat streaks and damage
- (bug) especially in later levels, some enemies will get stuck on terrain/stop attacking. sometimes just until you turn a corner then they are already mid animation attacking you
Negatives:
-some weapons are downright useless. Now I get its a roguelike and not every random loot can be overpowered, but its so bad that genuinely wish some would never show up. (shield and kunai in particular)
-damage is incredibly high, especially on further levels and if you have a gun augment that can make you take more? expect to get 2 shot by nearly everything. Unless you have the best of the best upgrade cards.
-like the weapons, certain utility items and upgrade cards are also completely useless
-no use for blips/unlock currency whatsoever after youve unlocked everything you can. Genuinely, why even have the doors show up then? why give the currency on boss kill? The ability to buy a heal instead, an upgrade, or ANYTHING would be better than this.
-the last boss is an absolute slog, I'm talking a 5+-7+ minute fight unless you have the best dps possible at that point, with no option to heal beforehand. Seriously why does this guy have so much health? You better play near perfect and know every one of his attacks otherwise you're toast. Took me 7+ attempts and I never wanna do it again.

I know this was a long review, and it honestly really sucks I'm this bent out of shape about it, because I think there's a great game in here, but these issues have gotta get fixed, and I'll change my opinion if they do. Otherwise, maybe consider staying away.
This game is the embodiment of "when Crypt of the Necrodancer meets DOOM." Amazingly fun, adding your own music into the game is a blast as well. The amount of sick tricks you can do will leave you astounded, very heavy on movement but I think that's a good thing. Way worth its price.
this game is so goated. ive been looking for a game like this for a while. i was looking for a rhythm game that i can use my own music for and this game goes above and beyond for that. also i like shooter games which is a big plus.
Robobeat is super fun, being able to import your own music is really cool especially if you make your own. The music included in the game itself is also really good, but I'm sure you'll spend most of your time listening to your own tracks. So don't be afraid to give some of the in game songs a listen and see if they'll fit into any of your custom playlists.
Gameplay: The movement is silky smooth, the strafe jumping feels amazing especially with the air control upgrade you can come across which I definitely would advise you pick up every chance you get (just don't double up on it unless you want to buzz around like a discombobulated mosquito). The guns are fun and varied, and while I don't personally like weapons like the ping pong and the cosmic, others main those weapons. So I can say with confidence there's already enough variation to suit many different people's needs when it comes to blasting bots.
The variation between rooms is pretty good too, with parkour, timed target shots, and others it gives you more to do with the good feeling gameplay than just shoot bots over and over again, which keeps it from getting stale.
Overall if you like games like ultrakill, and you love music, you'll love this game. I can't really give it a fair rating since I haven't beaten it yet, but it's been keeping me coming back and I really enjoy it
this game is great and the community like that it is very similarto ultra kill but in a amazing way i highly recommend it
Robobeat is one of the best rhythm games I have ever played. The fact you can add custom songs to the game is amazing. Only thing I’d make better is the bpm setter for custom tracks since it’s pretty confusing.
it feels fluid and fun. the rhythm mechanics can be turned off, among other accessibility features, so that's nice. the graphics are used nicely, and overall i recommend it to anyone, really. learn the parry mechanic, itll serve you well.
love the mechanics and music, FUCKING AMAZING game, ever since i saw the demo i fell in love with it
ace is such a loveable main character, a lot of stuff to do
if you're readin this. FUCKING get it
Amazing music, satisfying music, good difficult balance, great community, and so many more amazing things! What more could you want from a game?
Super fun game. Lots of options for customization. Endless replayability. Great community on Discord.
I recommend this game to someone who like rhythm shooter game cause you can adding your own music in this game and use it as your rhythm shooter gameplay
Everything you could every want from a rythm fps, great base tracks, custom music, amazing movement, multitudes of enemies and so much more, truly a 10/10
THIS GAME US SO GOOD!
As somone who doesn't care for shooters and other rougelikes, I wasn't expecting to like this game much. I ended up sinking over 8 hours into the demo and once I bought the game I had to recommend it to all my friends. The rush you get hitting a perfect combo in a room is heavenly, and the ability to upload custom music kept the game fresh and original. I really only have two gripes and they both relate to the mixtape feature (the one that lets you shuffle songs). First of all the randomizer for the songs seems a bit biased, sometimes it'll be super difficult to get a certain song to play in a mixtape. Secondly, the song transitions are a lil abrupt and usually mess with the flow. Otherwise, an almost perfect and original game.
I started playing robobeat when it was just a demo and immediately fell in love with it. As someone who grew up playing rhythm games and also fps games this combonation is amazing. You can add custom tracks and configure and edit whole playlists. As a music lover 10/10
It's the exact kind of game I'd love to love, but something's wrong with audio. Music and gunshots don't sync up quite so well as they did (and still do) in BPM: Bullets Per Minute, and the game lacks any controls for offsetting music latency, there's just the timing offset for score. And because this kind of game relies on rhythm to be enjoyable, I'm unable to enjoy it for this reason.
I'll keep an eye on updates and will probably re-buy it on another sale if this gets addressed.
funny robot ace icon uses ping pong racket to destroy capitalism with Weezer in the background.
10/10 would recomend
Amazing game, loved it as a demo, loved it as a full version. Definitely would wait for more update and feature of the game to make it more interesting.
very fun, custom music is extremely easy to add and the official discord has many pre-made cassettes that are ready to add
Think my playtime speaks for itself. Awesome rhythm shooter with custom music support, easy to understand interface and fiendishly difficult that draws suckers for punishment like me back in.
Fun game with options for custom music! one of the best rhythm games ive played tbh
The game is worth its money! Excellent motion, excellent soundtrack, nice graphics. Also the game plays great on steam deck oled. You can also easily load music for your cassettes onto a steam deck (I have a standard Linux from steam OS)
