I'm old . Simple concept , easy, fun and addictive to play.
Shoot the enemies, dodge the bullets as they go by you and hit them with your pistols if they get too close. I don't get motion sickness in this game. I do get some exercise with it and suggest selecting dual pistols to keep the exercise even, . If you have limited floor space like me turn off obstacle avoidance (in the game) and make sure you whip upwards not sideways meaning all you really need to do is duck.
Not really a dislike but the start interface is a bit busy for a newbie.

It's simple fun.

Not great, but it's pretty decent. It's like Beat Saber + SuperHot. The core gameplay is fun and makes you feel like John Wick. This game is a serious workout, you will be sweatin! Unfortunately, the lack of variety in levels, glitchy controls, and audio mixing REALLY leaves something to be desired. It would be nice to see more content and music for the price. You can beat it in under a couple hours.


Would kinda recommend this game, but only if it's on sale!

Recent changes/updates have made it far less accurate to the beat, so you're punished for doing well and have to actively work against the beat which is the opposite of the game's intent. Hopefully fixed in the future, but generally just bad to play outside of a few levels or without custom settings.

This game continues to surprise me. Every once in a while I'll come back to it to find new free content, and its just so good. Easily one of my favorite VR games

Absolute banger of a game. Mixture of Cardio Exercise and John Wick Power fantasy with a Rhythm game as a backdrop. I was put off by it the first time I picked it up because it just felt too easy. But then I realized there are styles and modifiers you can throw on your missions. Akimbo Bullet dodger is probably my favorite way to play. Hard difficulty becomes a real challenge, and there is community made maps (most are mid but a few are complete standouts).

Highly recommend if you are looking for a fun VR title for the winter months where cardio is maybe a bit harder to get in than the summer.

the quintessential on-rails VR rhythm shooter. the story missions are thrill enough, never mind the endless options in Arcade mode, never mind Remix mode, with the (admittedly, kinda mediocre) custom songs!

So much fun that you don't even think about exercise.

Super fun experience the music is kick ass feels like being John Wick or Neo dodging bullets and shooting against many targets. Definitely must buy for VR players who want something totally different and cool.

FEELS BETTER THAN WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE. I was skeptical if I was gonna buy it one day and that day arrived 4 years after I've learned it's existence and i regret not having bought it sooner.

THERE IS 1 PISTOL AND DUAL PISTOLS MODES for akimbo enjoyers.

Like I play Audica (dual pistol rythm vr game), I like to just swing a bit left and right, grooving to the music and this game DELIVERS on that VIBE. I've only played about 4 tracks so far (28 minutes playtime) (3 medium difficulty and 1 on hard), The difficulty is manageable without much training (take this as a grain of salt, as I have experience in multiple sports, learn at a decent rate and have good coordination and reflexes).




I played with the Occulus Quest 2 via "DESKTOP STREAMER" to play wireless PCVR, despite the 30ms delay on the movements, the only bad thing i can say is the head colision with obstacles, where it removes the "armor"at random times. If we take BEAT SABER for example, having 30ms delay on expert+ is quite annoying since the notes are often too close to one another and the delay makes note detection on contact to act strangely, which can break combos easily (need to play with no fail modifier so i don't get mad at the game... (No I don't suck at it, on ps4 i had all achievements unlocked before the 24h playtime achievement, which includes to full combo 15 different tracks on expert and S rank).








UPDATE: Customization of guns aren't great. You should be allowed to pick individual colors or tune them (can't make crossbow wood color. Barely manages to make paint jobs correct, etc.) There should be a SILENCED PISTOL, why? Beacause some people like their pistols silenced.

After a 90min session. I was doing an akimbo melee run. My right controller died mid song and I punched my TV. Melee runs are a GREAT LEG AND BACK WORKOUT. Devinitely feel exhausted after dodging 150+ projectiles per song + obstacles back to back.

Great rhythm shooter, unique gameplay, good music! What's not to like?

John Wick VR

While dated, One of the best VR titles i've played. Action packed, arcade like but loads of fun.

the game feels amazing. A must have for any VR owner.

Playing this is like getting an exercise, this is so much fun!

This is hands-down my favourite VR game of all time, and one of my favourite games of all time.
Every friend I let play this, is begging me to let them play for hours, until they're a sweaty, happy, exhausted mess.
The fact the devs are STILL pumping out more content FOR FREE after all these years is mindblowing.

And the hundreds of amazing custom maps and songs people have put into the game (again, all free!) make this a billion times better for me than Synth Riders, Beat Saber, etc etc

Just such a mindblowingly fun game the devs have clearly put so much love into (and continue to do so - again, FREE UPDATES!)

Absolutely having Mr Wick's vibe

Basic game is decent - hasn't really had any major updates so it is mainly on community songs for extra replayability. One major annoyance is that, when playing through OculusLink/SteamVR, it never shuts down cleanly and always requires a full reboot of the headset/computer to play any other games. If you don't, all other VR games you try after it will lag. Only game that I've seen which does this. Freaking annoying.

3d Touhou

I played this game once at a LAN event, the moment the headset was on, I knew I had to get it. I actually bought VR primarily for this game. It has something over beat saber. It would be nice for there to be more music as part of the default game, but the songs included are all pretty good. I just really like this game and I cant really put a finger on why. And even then, I barely have any time in it (at time of writing).

Always a blast and a go-to for some action movement. Also love that they keep adding content now and then!!

John Wick simulator. Awesome.

Takes a bit to get into the rhythm part but it's fun even without that (you just get less points). They also just added community made maps opening up way more content.

Good fun, and while the mechanics are easier to understand it could get difficult to master.
I am by no means good at this, but custom options with unlimited life and ammo could be enabled if you just want to relax and enjoy. Wished the campaign have more songs but there are user uploaded workshop content called Remix that you can download, some are really good.
Recommended for any gamers with VR.

Love this game, this is definitely one of my top favorites on VR. I lobe the music too.

I enjoy the hell out of this game.

It's ultimately a on-rails rhythm game, with guns, in VR.

Because the game is based on shooting to the beat, you can't help but dance and bop to the songs while playing.

All of my playtime was on Linux, with zero problems.

Great game, on rails rhythm music shooter. will get in lots of squats with this one.

Imagine John Wick going through a night club and shooting people in time with the music, forever, and you're John Wick, and sometimes you're in places other than nightclubs. This is without a doubt the most fun I've had in VR.

I'm playing in PSVR2, Windows 10, 5800X3D CPU and 4070 GPU. The game looks and performs great.

better than Beat Sabre

A really fun game with a fun twist for firing in time with the beat of the song. Nice little workout as well!

Most people think beat saber is the coolest rhythm game but for me pistol whip takes the cake

it's like beat saber except instead of your arms hurting its your legs

Like fine wine, it has gotten better since 2019.
You can compare the older songs with the new releases and see how the enemies and songs are improved with time.

Personal upsides:
I love getting in the zone and shooting to the tempo.
The songs are fucking bangers to shoot through.


Personal downsides:
I fucking hate unshootable turrets and "diamond" coated enemies.

Nothing better than being on beat then proceeding to miss multiple shots and start panic blasting everything on screen for low points

Shoot and dodge, sometimes on tempo

- Fun campaigns and boss battles
- Custom maps

Shoot, pistol whip and dodge enemies in this fast paced VR rhythm game. What more could you want? Great graphics and music and the gameplay is incredibly fun with unique levels. The only negative is the limited amount of levels but features like the bonus modifiers and leaderboards improve replayability.

I'm a long time fan of pistol whip, and it is a great workout.
The game has gotten better over the years with more experimental levels and the DEV team attempting new genres and gameplay elements.

This game gets my fat ass to sweat. Beautiful in terms of a mix between lightgun shooting, rhythm game, and good ol' SUPERHOT kind of dodging. Game offers a decent amount of ways to customize your experience too with the modifiers it offers. I just like using dual revolvers on high velocity and trying to hipfire everything while frantically dodging.
