This game has ONE idea for a puzzle, and it isn't even original. All six story missions are "go find 5-10 things in the maze while something might be chasing you". There's no difficulty to the game, everything is just handed to you. The first puzzle is just brute force. One later has you collect a sequence of 12 keys, one at a time, with each key leading to another key. Linearly. While there's no threat. There was one interesting puzzle that almost needed some logic to solve, until they just deadass give up and TELL YOU THE SOLUTION.
ALL of the monsters in the game can be outran. The only time we were killed is if we ran into a dead end while being chased.
Really fun game only with friends but not worth 10 dollars worth like 5 bucks
Don't believe the positive review count.
This game is unironically dogshit I don't even write reviews, but completed this dumpsterfire in under 4 hours and it felt longer than waiting in the ER after a breakup. It's like someone saw the garbage backrooms game and went 'Hold my beer' and proceeded to start a grease fire with a rice cooker, this game is the equivalent of ripping a 9,2 wet fart on the richter scale, the very concept of a cooking has been shook. At least the backrooms game was bad in a funny way, this game has no player interaction or interesting mechanics. Literally the entire game is filled with invisible walls making you feel like an idiot for even trying to make anything engaging or cool out of it. On top of this half the game takes place in a three metre deep canyon and forces you to face every enemy head on in a desperate attempt to siphon game time. Speaking of the enemies, literally all of them oneshot you and the counterplay switches from "sit still and wait while the enemy makes squishy watermelon noises" and "hold down w and shift to slowly jog away from it", you can't even go into box and hide or something. The game is optimized so poorly it was absolutely frying my computer despite it looking and feeling like an indie horror game from 2011, the only time it actually invoked a sense of unease was in the tutorial, but after that it just resorted to downright horrendous jumpscares. The only genuinely cool idea is the 'boss' enemy in the final stage, which i will give credit for even if a bit buggy.
TL;DR: No hate to the devs but this is not worth it even on discount.
The first level was pretty decent, but the later ones have sprawling layouts, a ton of mazes that create confusing backtracking, hard to avoid enemies and difficult to find items that overall make the game a lot more of a chore than a fun experience.
In WMR it is impossible to pass the tutorial (where to remove the first tutorial inscription in the starting house), in Quest it is impossible to start the game after the tutorial - does not connect to other people's online games, when you create your own game is a bunch of some unnecessary settings, but there is no the most important button - “Start the game”, so I was can't even play.
Refund.
I wanted to love Labyrinthine. The graphics and concept are amazing, honestly, they surpass Phasmophobia in many ways. The environment feels more immersive, the visual details are stunning, and the potential for a truly chilling experience is all there.
However, despite these promising aspects, the game ultimately falls flat because of its lack of engaging gameplay. The maze mechanics quickly become repetitive, and instead of building suspense, it just ends up feeling tedious and boring. There isn't much to keep the tension alive, and what could have been an exciting experience becomes a frustrating trudge through similar-looking paths over and over.
The concept is solid, and I think there's potential here for something great. I genuinely hope the developers can take these incredible graphics and mechanics and apply them to something more akin to a Phasmophobia-style game. With the atmosphere they've created, they could achieve something truly special, but as it stands, Labyrinthine needs more dynamic content to be genuinely engaging
Good fun with mates. We spent aprox. 7-8 hours on the story. It was quite entertaining.
Feedback: Chapter 2 is a huge step in difficulty and by far the hardest imo. The following chapters seemed easier. Could also just be that you learn the mechanics. idk.
Worth the money.
Bought this for me and a mate to play in VR.
I'm not sure why it has so many positive reviews, it's rather boring and the VR mechanics feel like they are early alpha.
Movement will keep drifting, view seems blurry and delayed, controls are very bad and sometimes unresponsive.
Most importantly though it's just not scary. It's one of those games where the ambience is pretty good but when you see the monster it instantly loses all tension.
Just average as a horror game, but quite bad as a VR one.
Labyrinthine is a thrilling dive into a horror-filled maze that offers a fantastic multiplayer experience. The spooky storyline pulls you in right away, creating a tense atmosphere that's both engaging and eerie. I loved working with friends to solve puzzles and navigate the maze’s creepy twists and turns—it made the whole experience feel like a blend of a haunted escape room and a horror movie. The game’s challenges are well-thought-out, keeping you on edge and demanding teamwork to make it through. I’d be thrilled to see a sequel or similar game in the future that builds on this immersive, puzzle-packed, spooky adventure!
The Mines is what made me put a bad review. A mine this size should take at LEAST a few minutes to patrol, yet the BBEG is only patrolling the area near the puzzle every 45 seconds.
For the price, the amount of game play you're going to get out of this is pretty insane. Random mazes, decent story length that introduces the numerous amounts of monsters, each one with their own mechanics. Runs well and multiplayer is stable.
I am absolutely addicted to this game right now. It checks all the right boxes:
-spoopy
- objective finding/ scavenger hunt
- different types of enemy to encounter
- puzzles are quick and not very frustrating
- mazes are all pre-generated
- unpaid cosmetics
- very fun with friends
- different settings to explore (ex. catacombs, hedge maze, haunted mansion, secret the backrooms level)
I didn't get it on sale so its def worth the buy either way imo. Would easily recommend anyone to play this game. Great job to the devs!
Never heard of this game and randomly bought it because it was on sale. I’m so glad I did! It’s has been so much fun and even better with friends!
This game transformed my life immeasurably. Before discovering it, I felt isolated, despondent, and like an empty vessel, but now I feel empowered to step outside and truly embrace life. Thank you—11/10, no regrets!
screenshots looked really good but the gameplay is so ass
Game was pretty good until level 6. Then it becomes a slog/RNG fest. There's an enemy at the end that is so fast you have no chance unless you get lucky. There is literally not enough time to get from safe space to safe space, and that's assuming you know exactly where they are. You will be absolutely massacred without a map. Just terrible design. It took me several hours to slog through this level, then I get trolled at the end. Maybe I could tolerate this if the level wasn't so long and tedious.
The rest of the game is tough but fair. How did this get through playtesting?
I expected little and it was pretty fun. It kinda worked pretty well in multiplayer, no crash or other difficulty.
10/10 stars. This game is terrifying and fun at the same time. The amount of playtime lasted much longer than I thought it would.
Good game for multiplayer, the mechanics are a bit Janky but this isn't a triple A title. Nothing game breaking yet, well worth the few bucks I spent to get it.
The game is fun, though it can be repetitive. I feel like there aren't extremely defined methods to escape enemies. Overall it is worth the cost.
Very addictive, and if you feel the need to collect every cosmetic the game will never end. Replayability is 10/10 though. Great for groups and friends.
This game starts with potential but nosedives hard in the second half. By Chapter 6, it’s a repetitive slog through uninspired, dull corridors filled with monsters that are neither scary nor challenging—just obnoxiously placed to waste time. The "path-finding" elements seem designed solely to frustrate, as my friends and I found ourselves wandering aimlessly, following a monster purely out of exhaustion and apathy for whatever "progress" we were supposed to be making. If you insist on playing, do yourself a favor and quit around Chapter 4 or 5, because beyond that, it’s a relentless descent into poorly designed levels that drain any excitement the game initially had. This isn’t a horror experience; it’s a lesson in how to kill a game's momentum.
Annoying ass. Can't find my way around in the narrow, overgrown corridors. Skill issue? Yeah, but I still hate it.
PS1 level graphics.
Weird itemization and inventory management. Lots of items you can basically touch and not use. Why make them interactive at all?
Monster that finds you by sound also automagically wanders into you if you hide.
Everything in the maze feels very samey in a bad way, not in a "lost in a hedge maze" way.
Overall it just isn't fun.
Great game. I remember having an absolute blast with my friends. I really do wish that they added an additional campaign or some more missions as we are always wanting to hop back into this game. The areas are very well designed and the mazes / puzzles were fun. The creatures were all very dynamic and modeled very nicely. I hope to see more content from Valko soon.
Ending was half assed, story and level design went drastically down hill after the first 3 chapters. Fun with friends, but in the end ultimately disappointing in the end.
Labyrinthine is less of a horror game and more of a complex method for discovering which of your friends will abandon you at the first sign of a demon. Picture this: you're standing in the middle of a hedge maze, whispering "where are you?" only to realize you're asking your own sense of self-preservation because your so-called "friend" sprinted the other way the second they heard footsteps.
Game is roughly a few hours. Every level has a new boss to work around and I love honestly throwing glow sticks everywhere. for 10 dollars and co op you will get your money worth easily.
really fun and scary game to play with the bois. played at alpha and came back again and was not disappointed.
Labyrinthine is a chilling co-op puzzle horror game that immerses players in a dark, winding maze filled with intricate puzzles and spine-tingling scares. Set in a haunting atmosphere, the game cleverly combines exploration with teamwork, requiring players to communicate effectively to unravel the mysteries hidden within its labyrinthine corridors.
The graphics are impressive, creating an eerie sense of dread, while the sound design heightens tension with unsettling audio cues. Each puzzle is cleverly crafted, providing a satisfying challenge without becoming overly frustrating. The presence of lurking threats adds a layer of urgency, making every decision feel crucial.
However, some players may find the reliance on cooperation occasionally slows down progress, especially if team members are at different skill levels. Despite this, Labyrinthine excels in delivering an engaging experience that rewards teamwork and strategic thinking.
Overall, Labyrinthine is a must-try for fans of horror and puzzle games, offering a gripping experience that will keep players on edge and eager for the next challenge.
the pig scared me so bad i had nightmares for weeks (i had no nightmares) but i will always be wary of charles for as long as i shall live.
A lot of neat concepts and ideas, albeit fairly "inspired" by existing horror media, executed pretty poorly. Most of the "puzzles" just equate to "find the pieces/solution in the maze and put them in", no real thinking involved, and with no way to fight back against the monsters, the gameplay most just equates to walking around, occasionally running, hiding, or crouching away from a thing, then walking around some more. The catacombs chapter in particular was very boring and tedious to explore. The lives system feels like a deeply unnecessary addition that just add to the tedium by making you have to play even slower to avoid death, or else have to start over.
Me and my friend have been looking for a co-op horror with a story mode for a long time, there just isnt any good options out there. We found this game and bought it as a joke, but boy where my expectations blown away. This game actually had some terrifying and intense moments which i did not expect and a fun story mode. This game made me stay up till 6am with how much fun me and my buddy were having. 100% recommend this game.
+ Its interesting, theres nice monsters, they bring you haste to do things, the atmosphere is great. Figuring out what to do is rewarding.
- Its tad to hard to understand what to do, figuring out what to do is very frustrating since theres monsters after you because its a bit too complicated to figure out these clues/progression for me.
Commentary: This is for people who have patience like saints, are your losing interest after 1hours trying to progress on one step on how to progress, its not really for you. Its very demanding on your mind if you just want casual fun with friends. It is scary as a horror game should be. But it becomes less scary after same monster just kills you over and over trying to figure out what to do. "Yeah yeah just kill me whatever...now back to solve this...." Not really what I would like for this game. I would love easier things to solve, let the monster be the complicated thing to dodge and hide from. Make more levels instead of stalling forever.
Love this game ive played it all the way through and still love it would be great if there was a lan co-op option id definitely got more out of it i love horror games and this isbone of my faves
I really want to like this game but I've played it with a group of friends 3 separate times now and each time we got stuck on chapter 2 of the story (Probably a skill issue). The difficulty spikes between chapter 1 and 2 is insane. Also it sucks that you can't bring in items to help in the story mode, there's no indication when someone dies when you are out of lives, and there is no voice chat for the dead players in the lobby. I really do like the concept and the atmosphere of the game but I can't recommend it.
Great game which you can repeat with friends and earn new cosmetics. New/seasonal cosmetics are always fun to collect too! Story chapters also are fun to go through! Would recommend for those who like co-op and jump scares/being chased by original tactical killers!

This game's fun and scary with plenty of maps and cosmetics to choose from. If you like Phasmophobia, Demonologist, and School Labyrinth, you'll like Labyrinthine. It's a maze runner with monsters and safe houses. Online multiplayer server with up to 4 players to help in your escape. A lot to the game in terms of play-ability! The real question is, can YOU get passed all the levels?

Game is one of my favourites!
I have been playing this game since before the full completed game was released and I have loved playing it every time. From the story-mode to the case files it is always fun to get lost in a maze with friends chased by monsters!
Lot better than i thought itd be
Honestly very good horror game for friends, initially its hard to not goof around
And then youre separated.
Now theres no more laughs, a wall between you and your friend, and darkness that seems to span for miles.
You WILL be split up, and you will realize you are in a lot of danger.
One of the rare multiplayer games where the horror isnt lost with other people, play in prox chat, dont use discord and you will have a fun time.
The Monster AI's arent super crazy by themselves, where they thrive is when partnered with the cramped spaces and other monsters.
Very good horror game, 10/10 do reccomend.
Labyrinthine is a thrilling co-op horror game that keeps you on edge with its eerie atmosphere, clever puzzles, and chilling jump scares. The immersive environment and cooperative gameplay make it an unforgettable, adrenaline-pumping experience. Perfect for friends who love to get scared together!
I absolutely love Labyrinthine! After playing for many hours, I can confidently say it’s one of my favorite games. Despite its simple premise, it delivers an intense horror experience that keeps me on edge every time. The atmosphere is eerie, the jump scares are perfectly timed, and the puzzles add an engaging twist to the gameplay. This is exactly what a horror game should be—scary and unpredictable.
What makes Labyrinthine truly stand out is its multiplayer mode. It's the perfect game to play with friends who love horror. The shared tension and fear amplify the experience, and the need for teamwork really pulls you in. If you're a fan of horror games and enjoy playing with others, this is a must-try!
100x replayability than any other horror game like it. enough variation in the map types to keep you entertained. core gameplay loop is solid and i still get scared after playing it for a while.
The last mine level is pure agony but if you eat the glow sticks it gives you the super power to finish it
fun with the friends i got touched tho
I Strongly Recommend Labyrinthine.

The most fun I've had in a game with friends in months! We always play as a group of 4 and try a lot of games together. This one is a winner. Scary, strategic, entertaining. We've done the 3 first chapters of the story mode and can't wait to continue. I wish there was 100 chapters in the story mode cause it's just so fun!! Can't wait to try the other modes as well. About to cancel work to play this game all night xD Worth the time, worth the money. Good job
good game. worth the price with friends.
spent more time trying to figure out how to play the game rather than playing the game. even a lot of the UI options are just icons instead of text so you have to assume what each button means
For a game that received the VR Game of the Year award, it's probably the worst VR experience I've had recently. Right from the get-go, my movement would be delayed by up to three entire seconds before being able to move in a different direction, which resulted in many moments where I would try to run from a monster, and would instead be forced moving in the same direction, getting me killed. Also, completely new bugs upon starting my third session appeared, which was my height being completely wrong, my hands being delayed, and being unable to crouch properly made the game even more unplayable. And I made sure to test other VR games to see if it was an issue with SteamvVR and other games worked perfectly fine. It's unfortunate because this game is really good gameplay wise, VR is just not.
