One of my favourite games from 2013. I played the crack version back in my childhood but wanted to play the legit one. Finally got it in sale after all the years in 2025. I am so happy to have this game in my library. I will keep enjoying the game <3

Jumped out of a helicopter, landed on a jet ski, crashed into a tank, got revived by a guy with defibrillators while he was on fire. 10/10 would get flashbanged by the sun again.

It's the kind of game where your most brilliant tactical maneuver is usually followed five seconds later by being unexpectedly flattened by an unmanned enemy jeep someone bailed out of at 100mph

It was good for a long time, but it's a broken game that won't ever be fixed and is overrun by hackers. The icing on the top is the fact that Punkbuster (the Anti-Cheat system) will kick you out of a server. As far as Battlefield 4, I believe that the campaign is the only thing worth playing. matchmaking in different modes are always dead and will not find a game, whilst public servers are full of hackers and the Anti-Cheat system kicking you. It's quite ironic that the Anti-Cheat system kicks players that aren't hacking, and not the hackers.

Its amazing dont get me wrong but alot of bugs, one where you cant swim you have to click esc then it lets you for a short while.

The BattleLog Punkbuster anticheat banned me from every server that used it because my "K/D Ratio was too high" the game is basically unplayable for me even when I tried to appeal the ban with the moderators

Battlefield 4 still holds up as one of the best in the series. The gunplay feels great, the maps are fun, and it just has a really solid overall vibe. The only Battlefield that tops it for me is Battlefield 1.

Letting people host servers without there being official ones will never not be a huge mistake. This crap ruined BC2 too.

Campaign missions, selected difficulty: normal. Took me 11 hours to finish campaign.

+ Ride with tanks
+ Use weapons to take down tanks and helicopters

- Bug in second campaign, tank was not moving around. Had to restart entire mission.
- Bug in third campaign, swimming in the ship. Set as windowed mode, max 30 FPS, pause for 30 sec in case still not moving forward.
- Bug in third campaign, destroy helicopter. Ship Valkyrie was invisible, had to restart checkpoint three times.
- Bug in fourth campaign, my group didn't followed me to the next room, had to restart checkpoint.


Multiplayer - tried a bit and was OK, but have no plan to play to invest many hours to multiplayer here.

Punkbuster keeps kicking me. Literally unplayable.

Playing BF3, BF5, BF1 and 2042 with no issues, but BF4 just doesn't work -- Punkbuster kicks me out every 3 minutes.

Servers are mostly empty even if in the server list it shows they're full, all people spawn camp/spam vehicles and thus you'll hardly ever find any infantry enemy except for in infantry only servers (which are almost non existent).

Hit reg seems broken as f**k as usual with older BF titles, even in BF1 i've had the same problem: hitting enemies multiple times and not damaging them.

Graphics, environments and maps are very lacklustre and poorly decorated when compared with its older brother, BF3, which is better. Or, atleast, WAS better in its golden era. This game seems somehow older than BF3 when it's in reality newer.

I've got this for 2 euros which is a ridiculous price but even like this i can't recommend it: too old, too late.

I guess i'll play the campaign and uninstall it.

Extremely fun, aged like wine. Full community servers that moderate cheating. If Punkbustr keeps kicking you, go to their website, download the newest version, and put it in the BF4 local files. Took 3 minutes and the game works flawlessly now. Leagues better gameplay and map design compared to 2042.

Punkmaster kicks even when you install the programs when you launch game or
if you get them online because files even if correctly installed, you can still be kicked. At least that's my experience.

My favorite BF game ever but you get banned for playing good by idiot server admins while glitchers are all over the place.

The unofficial servers are a pain in the ass but the game is still fun to play.

the campaign is fun. i just wish there were more unique gameplay elements it was mostly just shooting

Looked for a server for 5 minutes, join, take over objective, get kicked by punkbuster so glad I paid $2.15 for this game at least I like the single player campaign.

EA made sure that the game does not start on newer rigs. Fuck you, EA.

The first Battlefield game i ever play
Campaign : 8/10 (i can give 10/10 if the story isn't rushed)
Multiplayer : 9/10 (again, i can give 10/10 if they fix the rubber banding issue)
Overall : 8.9/10
This game actually pretty good beside of that rushed story and rubber banding server.

pretty fun game, battlefield gives me tho nostalgia of play call of duty modern warfare as a kid but with a more advanced look and feel to the game (i also got this game at a 95% sale and it was £1.74 so this was a bargain of a lifetime lol)

Bought the game recently as it was on sale and obviously being on a completely different account I was put at level 0. Joined a few servers hosted by players and was kicked immediately because of my level, the game is not beginner friendly in 2025
Obviously because its a very old game, there are no dedicated servers to play.

I loved this game when I played it on PS3 but I would not recommend it unless you plan on playing more than just the campaign or are a serious veteran player.

Edit: Before anyone says "You only have 1.2 hours logged" I've had the game on Origin/EA since launch. I just bought it here on steam to have it on steam. I have about 400ish hours played. The game's great.

This game is just too fucking good. It has some of the best graphics I’ve ever seen, not just for a 2013 game, but even better than some newer games. The campaign is awesome, a little better than BF3, and the guns are great. The game isn’t as hard on Hard mode as Call of Duty on Veteran, and it’s way less frustrating. There aren’t too many enemies when you’re fighting, which actually makes it better. I don’t even know what to say, it’s just fucking awesome. The graphics are unbelievably good. There are some small NPC and movement glitches, but the look of the game makes you forget about them!😀

If you're a new player, they just randomly kick you from games for no reason. Only buy if you only want to play the campaign and not online at all.

3 friendly AIs frantically shouting and seriously gunning 1 single enemy AI at point blank range, emptying their magazine, missed every single shot.

I'd recommend this game with the massive caveat that I got it on sale for something like $3. I wouldn't pay more than $5 for it.

As always, the EA launcher causes all kinds of issues, and on top of that the game has some strange bugs. For example, going to a loading screen and simply never leaving. You can wait, and wait, and wait, and ultimately you'll just have to restart the game when this happens. And it can happen quite regularly.

But the gunplay is fun, and I'll tolerate EA's nonsense for the kind of price this has started to be available for when on sale.

Punkbuster kicks you for no reason, pos of shit game, and wtf is this running from ea. If you don't have the game dont' run it through another service, just get rid of it all together. POS game.

EDIT: You need to download and install "pbsetup" from PunkBuster's site in order to play the game without getting kicked. Story of my life. Good work lads, keep it up.

Overall fun game and worth it when on sale but as always with every single Battlefield game, good luck getting your EA launcher to work properly

my go to fps shooter: the storyline was great but too short and the best gamemode online is team deathmatch. A bit tricky for newer players online but overall really good game

This game was definitely not what I expected after bf3 I thought it would be mid but honestly it carried the same weight.

Camping glitching even after restarting both level and game. Glitches during USS Valkyrire swimming, cannot move forward and get sucked back.

The single-player campaign is weak, but the core gameplay is fun, chaotic, and rewarding. If you like big battles, it’s worth a look, especially now that it’s been fixed.

I swear I have to update their stupid launcher anytime I try to play the game. Done with EA, done with not being able to click play and just play the damn game.

Bought this game when it was on sale for $5 and I still regret it. This game is definitely not worth $40. It has good shooting but too little of it because of the many cutscenes in the game. And the story isn't even that good. The multiplayer is still active (to some extent: there are a few active servers with just 2-3 gamemodes) but you can't even get a kill because you have the beginner guns (which are shit, and you can't get better ones unless you get kills) while everyone else is fully upgraded. I wouldn't have cared about the multiplayer if the campaing was good and not so short.

Played back on PS3, PS4... Pc Origin.... Steam.... My god this game is worth it.

The story is pretty good and the multiplayer is even better.

I was a big fan of Battlefield 3 in it's prime so this one definitely feels like an upgrade, but it still stands on its own. In my opinion, it's much more rewarding than COD and nice change of pace.

I've put well over 100 hours on PC, not including the time I played it on PS4 until the player base shrunk.

Highly recommend getting it on a discount but it is worth a try.

This game use to be everything now you can't even play multiplayer to lvl up i've gotten kicked 4 times from 4 different servers unable to even enjoy the game anymore

Used to love this game multiplayer. Cannot join for past few years due to their dumb anti cheat software.

Still one of the best game of the franchise.
Big maps, loud explosions, and endless ways to cause chaos.
A classic that somehow never gets old.

EA have clearly stopped maintaining this formerly great game. The server browser is severely broken.

10/10 game, learn to deal with the bloom bullshittery and its perfection

This game is an absolute disaster! Every time I play, it glitches like hell—my character starts spinning in 360 degrees non-stop like it’s lost its mind. Enemies spawn right in your face with zero warning, making it completely unfair and unplayable. And the tanks? Don’t even get me started—they’re the most infuriating, overpowered garbage I’ve ever seen in a game. It’s like the developers didn’t even bother testing it. Total waste of time!
