Fun, replayable, well-made, and intense!
That RE4 style action with that RE7 horror.
Another banger from this series.
this game is the best mod for forTNITE I CAN FINALLY PAY WITH CHUN LI FOR FREEE
IMHO the village from this game is very similar to the really amish parts of north Jersey, lawyers should be getting involved imo
great game but re7 is still better. 8/10
This game has been one of the best horror experiences I’ve ever had. Capcom absolutely knocked it out of the park, from the gripping story to the jaw-dropping graphics. The insane attention to detail made every corner of the environment chillingly spooky.
After finishing RE7, I thought it couldn’t get any better—but RE8 proved me so wrong. It cranks up the creep factor to 11, especially with its haunting child-related storyline. I was so hooked on the story that I binge-finished it in no time.
It’s not a grind-heavy game, but trust me: you’ll need to manage your ammo carefully. And that ending? I need to know what happens to Rose next.
This is hands-down the best Resident Evil I’ve ever played. Highly recommended. 10/10.
I found this game is less scary than RE7 except that one part in the main story and DLC but this game still delivers that same thrilling experience. The gameplay and graphics are identical, and while the story changes, you still step into the shoes of the same protagonist. The game is well optimized and runs smooth with high graphics settings. What I can say this game does better compared to RE7, this game has more interesting/fun boss fights, weapon Upgrades, enemies drop loot, and merchant system like RE4. Overall it's a great game and I had a blast finishing the story and the DLC. I absolutely recommend to buy this game along with RE7 for the full experience.
1) The game did not disappoint! Winters story growing into *THIS* was absolutely amazing. Ethan's addition to RE series is definitely something that was needed long time ago. The aspects of horror is certainly there, could not catch a break from jumpscares.
2) Gameplay is great, but... It has few bugs. EX: The audio for some cutscenes are super late. There will be a little lag before a script activates which kinda ruins the immersion and fun. Also could not figure out how to turn off the permanent reticle. (Options weren't working?)
Nonetheless, confidently recommend the game. Must play!
Great game. Runs easy on my pc, not very high requirement.
-great acting
-game's duration not too long
-great graphics
-urias ost is the best!
Resident Evil Village solidifies itself as one of the series’ finest entries.
The environments are breathtaking, from the chilling grandeur of Castle Dimitrescu to the grotesque depths of Heisenberg’s factory, each teeming with tension and eerie detail. The atmospheric sound design and stunning visuals immerse players in a world where every shadow feels alive. Game-play strikes an excellent balance between exploration, resource management, and combat.
The Fathers Story Is Done.
I have to say i didn't expect to enjoy this game as much as i did, since i'm not into horror/scary games, but it´s a really well made well designed game.
The attention to detail is fantastic, every single house/area is filled with minor details that combine made for such an immersive world and atmosphere, you really just spend time looking at the areas, appreciating those small details. The game is also so beautiful, the graphics and the lightning are fantastic, another thing that's also fantastic are the bosses fights, i enjoyed those a lot, really satisfying to do.
I also enjoyed the story, has a nice twist at the end.
The only downside i see its the duration of the game, it took me 13h to clear the campaign, and some frustrating puzzles, but overall i recommend this game, definitely at 16€(sale price) it's really worth the scary/creepy experience.
Just wish the game is long enough. Love the settings and the characters even the denizens. It's so heartwarming. Truly a comfort game if you will. I just love to see the lords as my pet. I want to test my sex toys on them.
i've been meaning to play this since it came out and finally got around to buying it and it cemented itself into my top 2 favorite games within 3 hours of playing
Village is probably one of my favorite experiences I've had within the RE-verse. It is entirely a love letter to RE4 but it still holds up very well on its own. I think that when it comes to what will be next from this franchise this game just makes me excited. I haven't touched the game in a long time but I'm looking forward to my replay when I get around to it. Also Ethan is a fire protagonist and the villains of the game are camp as hell.
good game congartlions (idk how to wrtie that shi) to devolopers. 10/10
Great follow up to RE7. Explores the more action oriented side of the series. Overall kind of epic and enjoyable addition to the story so far... That Ethan guy goes hard in the paint for sure. 8.7/10
Resident Evil Village, the eighth main installment in Capcom's legendary survival horror series, is a thrilling blend of action, horror, and atmosphere. Building upon the first-person perspective introduced in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, it expands the scope while retaining the series’ signature tension and terror.
Set in a mysterious, isolated village in Eastern Europe, the game follows Ethan Winters as he searches for his kidnapped daughter, Rose. The narrative weaves together personal stakes with the overarching lore of the Resident Evil universe, offering both newcomers and longtime fans plenty to savor. The village itself is the star of the show, an intricately designed hub that connects a series of unique and haunting locations, each ruled by one of the game’s four lords.
The game’s pacing is one of its greatest strengths, seamlessly blending moments of nail-biting tension, exploration, and adrenaline-pumping action. From the gothic opulence of Castle Dimitrescu to the psychological horror of House Beneviento and the industrial nightmare of Heisenberg’s factory, each area offers distinct gameplay styles and a fresh sense of dread.
Combat feels refined and responsive, with a robust arsenal of weapons and a crafting system that encourages resource management. The enemies are varied and horrifying, ranging from werewolf-like Lycans to grotesque abominations. Boss battles are memorable and cinematic, pushing players to adapt their strategies while delivering some of the game’s most intense moments.
Visually, Resident Evil Village is breathtaking. The RE Engine brings the village and its surroundings to life with stunning detail, from the eerie flicker of candlelight in the castle to the oppressive fog of the forests. The sound design is equally masterful, with every creak, growl, and whisper heightening the sense of unease.
The game does lean more toward action than pure horror, echoing the style of Resident Evil 4. While this may not sit well with fans seeking a more traditional survival horror experience, the balance of scares and spectacle ensures the game remains gripping from start to finish.
One of the game’s standout features is its cast of characters, particularly the enigmatic Lady Dimitrescu and her vampiric daughters. While her screen time is relatively short, she leaves a lasting impression, and the other lords are equally compelling in their grotesque and tragic ways.
If there’s a drawback, it’s that the story occasionally leans into melodrama, and Ethan’s character remains somewhat bland compared to the vibrant personalities around him. However, these are minor blemishes on an otherwise outstanding experience.
Resident Evil Village is a triumph of design, atmosphere, and gameplay. It respects the series’ roots while forging its own path, offering a thrilling and varied adventure that will keep players hooked until the very end. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or new to the franchise, this is a journey into darkness that’s not to be missed.
Step into the village, and prepare for a ride you won’t soon forget.
I could write an essay on why this is a bad game, An unscary horror game that falls back on gratuitous gore, too easy puzzles, bosses that can be beaten on your first try etc. Despite this and a tedious middle section, it entertains, and that's what a game is supposed to do. I enjoyed it.
A very solid single player game through and through. This is my fourth RE game in the series so far and I gotta thank the remakes for getting me into this franchise. Like all the prev revival games, this one follows a similar pattern so existing fans can easily warm up to it. I gotta say though, the beginning of the game is NOT friendly to new players. The first portion had me fighting against an army of respawning werewolves all by myself for a few minutes but since the mission objective isn't exactly clear, I initially and painfully, had to go through this segment lost and frightened.
It's crazy to say this though but the game actually gets easier after that. I admit I had to use a walkthrough for the most part but it's not really a hard game but more action-oriented compared to RE7. The story is a great run as you once again take control of Ethan (who's still masked) and now have to locate your daughter taken from you. I'd call the story a bit generic and over-used though for a horror setting (the typical find your loved one plot line... I mean who else would dare venture into this nightmare right?).
There's only one pain point I have with this game and it's the most major change in the core RE mechanic: the new merchant system. This time round, you don't have an infinite loot box you store your stuff in. Your inventory is limited to only what you can carry. Anything else must be sold off or discarded. It works well in some cases but not always. For example, since the merchant's inventory is also limited, it may be wiser to save up ammo than prioritize on money. One other thing I disliked is how the merchant introduced waaay better guns only very late into the game and without the player knowing about it. This meant most players would've used their cash to instead upgrade their existing guns and be unable to buy the new guns at all (or get worse versions of them). If Capcom was trying to encourage replayability with this cheap tactic, I guess it works but for those who wanna be opportunistic, it's a loss.
Overall I could just summarize that this game is basically the RE4 to RE2 remake. It's heavier on the action yet features some scary segments that are really well done. The campaign length is more than decently long enough and the crazy boss encounters are just great. I also loved how this game ventured into the most diverse set of themes and enemies you'd never expect from the RE franchise. From werewolves to vampires, to creepy dolls to steampunk horror... it's all there. But ok, there's no zombies. RE8 takes everything right from RE7 and the past two remakes and makes things even better by amping everything up on a greater scale.
- Score: 9/10
Pretty cool horror game, not that scary compared to RE2 and especially the previous game RE7, but still a fun and enjoyable Resident Evil Game regardless.
I love how different RE 7 and 8 are compared to previous games and yet it's still RE to the bone.
If you plan to play it you should definitely start from 7 cause the story is connected and there will be some interesting lore building on top of 7.
The graphics in this game are something else, get a HDR monitor/tv if you can, it'll be worth it, the interior of the castle looks like an actual place, you can take screenshots and post them on Airbnb.
I've played on "hardcore" difficulty and had great experience, the only difficulty spike was in the beginning when a special event happens where you need to "survive", remember that you don't need to kill everyone (you won't have enough firepower anyway), you just need to stall for time, around 4 minutes. Overall fun fights with bosses and enemies.
Map helps a lot in exploration and item finding, it colors rooms in red if you haven't found/picked everything yet, sometimes though you need certain events to happen to "finish" the room, so don't waste a lot of time if you can't find anything, it might be that you need to do something else first. Puzzles are easy though, didn't need to scratch my head even once and there's not really a lot of them to begin with.
Best dad simulator in the franchise and a wonderful game 10/10
Amazing gameplay, great horror, and rich story. Definitely one of the most perfect games I've ever played and by far my favorite Resident Evil game.
is good game. ticks all the boxes for core game mechanics to make a game great
Only played this game using a VR mod but it was really good and the story was good
This game has amazing graphics, a great story.
You should definitely try this out, One of the best resident evil game.
This game is great! I totally loved it. But sadly for a portion of my playtime i happened to be on a voice call with somebody named abigail. totally wrecked the game. Should try it out if you dont have an abigail in your life!!
Quite enjoyable story and interesting DLC. Every other MC of resident evil games fights to survive, but Ethan fights for his family and for their lives. Best father among all games. 10/10 would recommend
I've played this game on ps5 and pc, and with all honesty I can say that this game is very enjoyable. The base game it's self is fantastic and adding mods can give you a hilarious new experience. Overall I would recommend this game to others who enjoy the franchise.
Resident Evil Village: A Masterpiece in Survival Horror
Resident Evil Village delivers an exhilarating, heart-pounding experience that fans of the series and newcomers alike will find hard to put down. Capcom has truly outdone itself with this installment, blending the best elements of survival horror, action, and story-driven gameplay into a seamless experience.
So fun, love the shadow of rose, but the pistol included in the trauma pack is not worth at all, it does 100, and the starter pistol does 110 base.
Its very good, good material, and a very good story with a great plot twist, love it, need it, consume it.
Amazing storyline, memorable boss battles, Incredible voice-acting and thrilling characters (Lady Dimitrescu, Heisenbeg, Cassandra, Mia, Rose are the ones I remember the most) and consistent yet balanced jumpscares compared to Biohazard.
As a massive fan of the RE series, I'd give this game a 10/10 in the horror category, because the atmosphere alone speaks for itself. Just enough to keep you on your toes waiting for the next thing to happen as you explore the Village and walk through Castle Dimitrescu along the way to find your baby, Rose.
Loved the game. It has a good story and the ending is pretty sad (i cried lmao). Would absolutely recomend and is a really great game to start resident evil with even if you didnt play the others before. Tho i think it could be confusing if you havent played re7 before. The graphics are really good and story is really good aswell. The game is about a ethan (main character) thats trying to save his rose, his daughter and has to fight and defeat people who are infected with a virus that makes them zombie like ig. The gameplay was good af and the chracter design is awsome and theyre also well written. Would recommed. (The woman in the game are really Pretty)

What an incredible video game. The story, the graphics, the attention to detail, the production, all of it is just exceptional. As someone who was new to the new modern res games, this has drawn me in and has made me a big fan now. 10/10 game.
It's a good game, however not a great Resident Evil game. The first few hours are great and I liked the separate bosses in their own regions. It plays well and looks fantastic.
The move towards action and sticking with Ethan's story need to ditched. Still recommend
Incredibly fun game. intense in the best way possible, and keeps you on your toes. The game was challenging without being frustrating. Puzzles weren't too easy but also not mind bending. The story was interesting, I found myself wanting to continue playing to find out what happens next. It kept my attention the entire way through. I would for sure recommend this game. If you enjoy modern Resident Evil tiles, do not hesitate to play Resident Evil Village.
Really enjoyed this game...it was a great combination of RE4 and RE7. the atmosphere of the village was so good...just soaked it up. After switching back to Standard mode, the difficulty was pretty light, but challenging enough to be fun. And I really liked that I used almost all the weapons throughout the story...the gun mechanics and killing of enemies was very satisfying. Look forward to RE 9!
This is actually one of Favortie RE game. It contends with Re:2 Remake! I love the Visuals, textures and the amount of Detail they put in this game! Great story and characters, and Fun Gameplay!! Thanks for adding the unlimited Ammo right off the bat on easy mode!!
Probably one of the best Resident Evil games ever, much less solo horror triple A games altogether. Also has tons of replay value.
A beautiful game and the completion of Ethan's story. Compared to RE7, of course, for me it was better game.
The characters were very interesting. This RE game is very different from the other.
This game is so good that I beat it for the first time and beat it again in the span of one week.
One of the greatest horror creation I ever witnessed , story is amazing, and detailed graphics
It's good, play it on hardcore from the beginning - the sweating is what makes resident evil games fun.
I am not joking when I say this game blew my mind. I beat the main story and the way everything is put together is utterly fantastic. I absolutely recommend anybody interested to buy it, it's worth the price.
This is gonna be a lengthy review, but I feel it's necessary. I'll start with the bad first since there isn't many, and the bad is what's going to scare the players off so they'll hopefully see the minimal issues and give this game a shot as it is well worth the asking price.
THE BAD: Unskippable intro which is annoying for subsequent playthrough's since the game doesn't actually start up until the village fight.
The second Lords area is also really tedious on subsequent playthroughs since you are stripped of all your gear and there are no items to find other than quest items to move toward the boss fight, which is just a memory puzzle. If you done that area once, you've seen all there is to see in the Beneviento house.
The Last bad part is the writing. It's corny and doesn't have an interesting story compared to the other games. You can relatively guess what;s going on within a couple hours if you played RE7. They also made Chris seem like an asshole and not inform Ethan on whats going on just for the sake of moving the plot forward. Also why was he not monitored after the Baker incident or given a vaccine? weird.
THE GOOD: The gameplay itself is some of the best in series. It offers a little bit for everyone. if you liked RE4, then you will like Heisenberg Factory. If you liked one and two, you'll like Lady D's Castle. If you liked silent hill and PT, you'll love the Beneviento house.
Optimization is phenomenal. At no point did I drop below my 120fps cap with all settings on High and Ray tracing off, I'll list my specs below.
Graphics are still some of the best graphics I've seen yet. On par with GoW Ragnarok and Horizon Forbidden West.
The Lords are pretty interesting and have fun personalities. The game offers a lot of replay ability. I'm almost at 100%, I have 1 DLC related trophy left and I am almost done with that. I also achieved the Platinum on PlayStation as well. The story should take around 6-8 hours if you're new.

Temps were great, frames were great, graphics were great, I was actually kind of impressed. My friend with an Rx580 even has non issues or crashing. Grab this game!
You get the shotgun really quick in this game, meaning it's not very scary. But it's overall very fun
Snape killed dumbledore
Plaaayed through this game nuumerous times on PS5 and felt the urge to pplay again when it went on sale. Just as great of a fast paced experience. Strays away from the ccaamera model of the RE series but feels so right for the series at the same timme.
