one of my childhood favourites, nothing short of an amazing old gen game. very few bugs (in my experience of 100%ing) i got a crash fix via nexus mods if anyone wishes to pick this or the first up.

every single thing the original PROTOTYPE does, this one does 110% better. gets running smooth on modern systems with fixes that are easily available on the pc gaming wiki. the combat is smooth, free flowing, and fun. much more clean than the original PROTOTYPE. honestly, you could simply skip the original and play this one singly, if you wanted.
A bit bugged but nothing a tutorial cant fix
I played Prototype 2 since its release back in 2012 on my Xbox 360, and it was always part of my rotation of about five other games. For one reason or another, this game has just stuck with me.
Whether it be the interesting premise of the world, the nice free movement, or the wide sandbox given. For the longest time, I wanted to play the game over again.
So once I got a PC I decided to play it all over again. I had a hiccup playing the game at first, with constant crashes before the game would load. The issue ended up being the fact that my CPU had more than 4 cores, go figure.

I still pray to God at least once a week, that they will make a Prototype 3 and revive the franchise. One can only hope.
10 hours of hard difficulty - 80% done, the small stuff remains to be done.

Game doesnt even run correctly on modern devices without an ass load of backend changes. Steam is essentially selling a broken product (unsurprising)
The game itself, from what i remember, is brilliant.

Good game, pretty close to the first prototype game, although I much preferred the older version of obtaining upgrades.
definitely improved compared to the first game- story, dialogue, gameplay- the whole thing, even the port is better! if you liked the first, this is a 100% grab.
Played and finished this game before on my friend's laptop, had alot of fun. Replaying this again on my PC, still a lot of fun but this game requires a mod/patch from NexusMods to fix the cpu cores issues.
If the game crashes after you open it and click continue a couple times
1.Start Steam
2.Open the task manager and go to details section
3. Find Steam.exe and SteamService,exe and set affinity to cpu0 and cpu1
4.play the game

Found a fix that worked, great game really missed it
MY favorite chilhood game, very recommender very much action.
game is great fun, but atleast i had yo go into task manager and change something for prototype to work but once i got it working its insaneley fun
i cannot even play it as i even uninstalled it to see if that would fix the problem but no it just ends up making everything glitch no matter what i do. though i would recommend for the videos i've seen i still cannot play it.

I have played Prototype and it was my favourite game during my high school days. Now, I have the time to play when I am free. Brings such joy to play this game and man, it was awesome exploring throughout the map, and the story line is lit too.

okay so the game is extremely fun and addicting. its very much a power trip of a game, where you play as essentially an unkillable god. i played this years ago on the xbox 360 when it came out and loved it then, and i still love it now.
the port is.... not fantastic. not nearly as bad as some of the other shitty ports on steam (im looking at you, naughty dog), but it is still not great. an extremely common problem causes the game to instantly crash every time you start it unless you disable the game's access to most of your cpu cores, which decreases performance considerably. issues surrounding cores come up semi-frequently in gameplay. in one of the first missions, i got soft-locked because it didnt mark an objective as completed even after i completed it. additionally, i had a problem where the camera was extremely stuttery and not very responsive every time i tried to move it. there is, however, an easily-installable mod you can find to fix all of these issues, and more. here is a link to said mod with instructions: https://www.nexusmods.com/prototype2/mods/42
it's a good game and the port runs smoothly with this mod. the camera was still a little buggy but still pretty playable. after i installed it i experienced very few bugs.

Remember playing this on my friends PS3 and thought it was amazing then. Replaying it now, it still pretty much holds up. Top tier game. Final boss fight on Insane was hard. 100% the game in bit under 20 hrs, so not massively long, but fun for the time spent.

Solid power fantasy game. The systems are a little simple, but overall a well-paced ride you could beat in a weekend.

This is a weak sequel to one of the best sandbox games of it's time. I wish we could get either a remaster/remake or a 3rd installment. There are places this franchise and it's story can go. I hope in the coming years we get something solid.
Not only does the game struggle to run without tweaking Steam's affinity in Task Manager, but it constantly kept running at less than 30 FPS.
It's a shame because I love the Prototype series, I just wish that for once classics like this series would be published in the store in a playable state.
I do think that generally it's a pretty reasonable point that developers should have to do some bare minimum in making sure games are compatible with modern systems or admitting that they have stability issues while actively selling them on steam but if you're used to doing weird troubleshooting to play old games and aren't afraid of that process this is one of the better sandboxes of its era

Love this game despite the game breaking bug near the beginning of the game you have to go into the community discussion to find out how to fix. Wish there were more games like this.
WAY BETTER THAN THE FIRST. The first game plays like it's from 1970 and looks horrible, while this one feels and plays better. Also, the gore in this one is cool.

The game's open world, while not groundbreaking, is vast and allows for a good deal of exploration. You can freely roam the city, discover hidden secrets, and engage in side missions that add to the overall experience. However, the game's technical issues are so pervasive and frustrating that they ultimately overshadow the enjoyable aspects. From frame rate drops to stuttering, the game struggles to run smoothly even on high-end hardware. This constant performance hiccup disrupts the flow of gameplay and makes even the most intense combat sequences feel clunky and unsatisfying. The game is riddled with glitches and bugs that can range from minor annoyances to game-breaking issues. These technical hiccups can often lead to frustrating situations, forcing players to restart sections or even abandon the game entirely. While Prototype 2 offers a glimpse of a potentially great game, its technical shortcomings are too significant to ignore. Game is not working newer systems and crashes on start up. You are supposed to try fix the game by using some mods.
