Great classic and follow up to the original. A little quicker to complete than the first but it is more polished and still good fun
Got absolutely no nostalgia for this game though I played the first one as a kid.
I remember this game getting a lot of hate for some reason but honestly I feel like it's an improved version of the first game. The story could be better though and some things still don't really make any sense to me after playing 'til the end, maybe I missed something though. Still a lot of fun, no regrets.
I have an Asus Rog Allyz1 extreme now and the game always woont go on because it just kicks me out of the gam i was nt even in the men

I really wish activision would come up with prototype 3 altho sadly i didn't get to see that happen ever :( but still like this game overall a great game! i hate that there was a huge bug in one of the missions but fixed the bug like this game very fun childhood memories.
Would I recommend? Yes, i played this game a lot of my Xbox 360 when I was younger and was so happy to be able to get it on my computer, still as good as I remember.
A lot of fun. Just played this after finishing the first game. I have to say, the second is better in ALMOST every way. Usually I'd do a list of pros and cons but there's not really any cons to talk about so I'll just list of some features I liked and what I found better than the first game. (Though still play the first game! It's really good!)

All-in-all, it seems the devs took what they had of the first game and just improved upon it A LOT. Massively. Great game, highly recommend.
Also, make sure to grab the prototype2fix mod on the nexus, will help smooth things out on your pc while palying!
Love this game as well, many things improved but... wish they continued Alex Mercer's Story in prototype 2, then perhaps Prototype trilogy would have been possible. Wish they made both Prototype 1 and 2 remastered in UE5, would buy it instantly !

This is an insult to the quality that was the first Prototype. Not only is this completely throwing what made Prototype such an amazing game under the bus the fact that they still sell this despite being incompatible with Windows 11 is pretty insulting. It's capable of booting up to the first second or two of the movie then it crashes, yet it worked perfectly fine in Windows XP and even on Linux using Proton. Should be delisted along with anything published by this company before 2013. One of the few publishers I'm glad to see get consumed by a bigger company.
Insane fun. One of my favorite games of all time because of the powers.
I recommend it for nostalgia but here it is a good player quote: „ old games sometimes become unplayable” . That is the case here sadly, the story is great but the missions are too hard and you need to watch tutorials, also there are not placed zones where you should go like in normal games with stories, its open world but the idea is for a game not to be open world when you are doing a mission, imaginate searching for some NPC among thousands of NPCs just to get an ability, that is where this game becomes hard.
Great game! But it lacks power unlike Prototype 1.

As far as sequels go, this one is pretty solid. It carries over some powers while introducing new ones, the story is good and doesn't drag on long, and it maintains the spirit of the first game. I like the world building and change of character in Mercer and Heller. While I do miss some of the old powers and don't understand why they removed them, I enjoy what is included. I hope that if someone made another prototype, it could include customization of weapons and evolved looks, each weapon having swap-able DNA traits and bonuses with associated looks, making the player look accustomed to their play-style. The DLC is the biggest gripe about the game because it should have been included from the beginning but who cares if it is bundled with the main game. Achievements were fair and fun. played through once for 100% and did a new game + to get the last levels and hard mode.
If you like single player open world power fantasies, this is a respectable pick. While it improves on prototype one in the visuals and new tech, it doesn't shake the series up too much. This means that while there isn't a lot that is new to prototype one players, what is there has been refined and improved.
Prototype 2 is a good time. Is it the best? Nah, but you feel like your playing Venom and the powers are cool. The story is rather short and doesn't overstay its welcome.

Left a review on the first game saying this might as well do it for the second game as well. If you have issues running the game on pc (me included) the game runs perfectly fine on steam deck if you have it. Loved these games back on ps3, would still highly recommend. sucks that the game doesnt just run fine on pc tho.

The game is fun but to get it to work you need to go out of your way.
For me the game could not proceed past the mission you get your claws. To fix it, I enabled Vsync and set the max fps through steam to 30. I'm not sure which of these options fixed it but now my FPS is 60 which while not ideal is playable.
The game is fun. I like the humour but there are issues such as using weapons is not easy and it's clunky. Also you can consume people and the rest of the folk just stare at you like it's nothing. There is no response from the NPCs the vast majority of the time which is awkward considering you just consumed a bunch of them. Generally using your powers is clunky, the game seems made to be used by a controller but at least my Xbox360 controller shows as not supported (I have not tried it but usually Steam is correct about these things).
Should you try it? Yes, it's a good game underneath with good dialogue and fun abilities. The story follows video game logic and you should not think about it how the US government just lets NewYorkers die by the thousands and does nothing and there are death squads and mutants in NY but just go with it.

Great game however if you're playing on widows 11 I cannot recommend this game.
Game is not geared for newer systems and crashes on start up. Tried a few work around including verifying game files and just reinstalling but neither of that worked.
Buyer beware.

Being able to play the game once then reset and keep all your stuff is something i realllllly like.
Story is decent, ending missions are a bit weird story wise but i like it nonetheless.

Same as the 1st, needs to one day be updated in order to be compatible with newer hardware, other than that, this and the 1st are amazing games that I would suggest anyone to try, if both were updated to be playable again
