The producers of DUSK, AMID EVIL, ULTRAKILL and FAITH bring you a frightening, gothic immersive sim full of haunted streets, dark tunnels and decadent mansions.

- An intricate, hand-crafted city with freeform exploration - from towering rooftops down to hidden passages, the routes you take and paths you make, are your choice.
- A detailed stealth and sound system that tracks your light visibility and propagates noise accurately through the world. Tread lightly. Or prepare to get loud.

- A unique arsenal to meet any situation - a stealthy canesword, six-shot revolver, folding shotgun, hand-placed traps, rope-slinging harpoon rifle and more.
- In-depth player interactivity, from leaning to eavesdrop, peeking through door cracks, checking the bullets in your firearms and mantling onto ledges.

- A mob of ghastly denizens and monsters with acute senses, like the sharp-clawed Crowmen and the fearsome, cadaver-seeking Corpse Duster.
- Gloomwood is full of objects to pick up, throw, climb, smash and use to your advantage.
There is more to this city than you can possibly imagine...

Easily the best game ive played this year. for early access i cant wait.
An awesome, spooky survival horror game, reminiscent of older Resident Evil games, Dishonored, and Bloodborne! Yet it feels like it has a style all its own, and I highly recommend it! The sad part is, it's not fully out yet, so I might recommend waiting or live with the fact that the excellent experience isn't finished yet.
Obviously the game is still in development, so I (or anyone for that matter) cannot formulate a complete review. That being said, what's here is very fun to play. Gloomwood really scratches that OG Thief itch, with some creative twists for good measure. Also I'm a huge sucker for that Gothic horror atmosphere. Candlelit manor houses, full moons rising above castle towers, fog-choked cobblestone streets...inject it straight into my veins!
Wonderful game which expertly blends the atmosphere and mechanics of the beloved Thief series with the awe inspiring horror aesthetics of Bloodborne and Resident Evil. A must have for lovers of stealth games and have a nostalgic heart. There are a few bugs, as to be expected with any early access game, but the effort and polish put into what has been completed is outstanding. I could not more highly recommend a game that I do Gloomwood.
This game is a stealth game with horror aspects, this game has cartoon like features and even kind of looks like spy from TF2 is playing a new kind of game. (LOL) this game has a limited storage feature like resident evil and treasure you can sell once you get to the city that also allows you to buy and even steal bullets on top of the rouge like genre of gaming.
This is my new favorite game, they even added a function to make syringes full of Eliqirs to become monsterous and gain abilities.
This game draws from the Thief series, Cthulu Dark Corners of the Earth, Survival Horror games like Resident Evil & Silent Hill, and Bloodborne. For me this game is right up my alley. Its really incredibly made and I'd say its already worth the price of admission despite not being even close to finished. The content already here is good enough to justify the asking price, and I am looking forward to seeing what else is added on to this game later on.
I haven’t had a game that made me think as much as this one in a while. Unlike most games of its kind where you are somehow special, here you are just some dude with very scarce resources trying to make it to the next point of interest, and that works wonders for this game. While you usually are always needing more room to carry what you need this creates the best incentive for you to actually use every tool in your arsenal so that you cycle through your current inventory in order to make room for more. Also, the simple rule of everyone you kill stays dead and every object is right where you left it even if it was a lot of hours ago, means you are constantly looking for strategic places to make stashes and always looking for the most efficient way to get to where you need to go. If you’re a fan of Imsims this game is for you.
Just shy of five hours in and just wow! The level design for the areas we explore are just fantastic, there are multiple ways to traverse the world that make sneaking around and exploring enjoyable. I've not had this much fun exploring a game looking for little hidden trinkets and baubles. Thank you for making this game very enjoyable and fun to play!
I love this game it kinda has the vibes of bloodborne which was an amazing game but i do recommend this game it is amazing and fun i love it.
really fun and scary
favourite part was when gloom said it's glooming time and gloomwooded all over the place
Gloomwood is an incredible experience, proudly showing off its Thief and survival horror influences. The game gives you all the tools you need for any situation, so long as you can be crafty enough to fit them in your inventory (which is a very unique system by the way) and utilize them. Here’s an example:
I was stuck in a pit needing to take an elevator out, but was low on ammo and found myself being overwhelmed by the number of enemies attracted to the loud elevator shaft. , I decided to turn the elevator on and duck into a nearby room, hiding from most enemies until I heard the elevator hit the bottom, then attempted to stealth my way inside. I got spotted before I made it by multiple enemies, so I instinctively pulled out a flash grenade and threw it down, blinding them and sprinting into the elevator and watching the door shut behind me, just before the enemies could come back to their senses.
This great “problem solving” gameplay loop coupled with incredible atmosphere and art makes for a fanatic time that I’d recommend to anyone interested, despite the game being unfinished. My only gripe with the game is now I have to wait for more!
One of the few early access games that's actually worth your money. Gloomwood's far from finished, and it STILL towers above its competitors.
Just the small amount I played was enough to warrant what I paid. I used to be a "Thief" player back in the day and always wished for guns in the gameplay to deal with enemies that made me mad, the developer of this game did too I think. Awesome stealth gameplay but still with enough shooting to keep it interesting and open up options. There's a lot of re-playable content here, you aren't hand-held at all as of yet and just figuring out what to do is incredibly fun.
Amazing game. Very fun it gives bloodborne vibes + The design is top notch. This is what we want not Triple A games.
I have indeed only played the game for 3 hours, and just now got to the actual City! But those three hours were excellent! Despite being afraid of a Huntsman just randomly turning around, once you kill one, you feel quite powerful. It is very similar to Thief, as you have probably heard countless times. New blood always hits and never misses.
Its just an objectively good game.

Gloomwood is an interactive-sim meaning that YOU choose how and when you tackle a certain problem whether it be stealth, guns blazing, or a mix of the two! :]

while it is still in development there is certainly enough to play as it is.
Amazing game. One of the only ones that genuinely make my timbers shiver. Almost like playing Dead Space 1 for the first time.
Both exploration and combat (especially the "late" game combat are top notch.
The game also doesnt treat you like an idiot, allthough you can see pretty well how the environment really wants you to go a certain way. But its all good fun
Graphics are very well made, although i'd like to see the developer make a brightness test location where the game states things you are not supposed to see from any or certain angles
As is the game is fantastic, really allows different approaches to situations and rewards out of the box thinking. Can't wait to see what this game looks like as a complete product
Reminds me very much of Thief Gold, one of my all time favorite stealth games. The atmosphere in Gloomwood is incredible, and the mechanics are really smooth and fun.
Im so lost and confused on where to go but its such a good game! I love the old school graphics
One of the coolest, slickest, weirdest games ever
Breathes a whole new life into the Stealth genre which has been needed for so long. Out of all the Early Access titles on Steam I've been following the progress of this one the closest.
If you can stomach the wait this one will be truly incredible at 1.0. But it's definitely at a stage now where it's worth picking up and seeing how wicked of a game this is. My only complaint before was that it was simply too short, but I believe it's currently long enough to warrant an EA purchase.
Big big ups to the developers for putting in so much effort making something like this
A pretty good immersive sim with straightforward stealth and combat, the atmosphere and overall aesthetic of the game reminds me of Darkwatch although with a much more fanciful Victorian look and retro graphics rather than a dark Western one, my only wish is that your character could sprint (not just holster their weapon and move slightly faster) along with some tweaking to the player and enemy movement so that the stealth gameplay could be a lot more fast paced which I think would unlock the hidden potential of the various environments that you go through in the game, although in the end the game is perfectly fine without sprinting. Overall I would highly recommend this game.
If i feel like i could climb it with no powers in dishonored, then i can in this game. Not as fast as dishonored 2, but thats a good thing.
A game made with passion. The devs are not rushing anything but every update has something new and worth playing. I think this game is one of it's kind, I don't know what genre I can call Gloomwood but it will have it's own place in the history of video games. One of my favorite games ever even with being on early access.

Big fan of this game. Takes a little effort to learn that map because it's huge, but the progression is natural. Even when I feel like I did some super cool shit that must be a shortcut or easter egg, it's usually just part of the main story.
If you like bloodborne, resident evil 4, deuse x, or games in general this is the game for you.
i haven't played a better game in a long time.
i would even put it in the top ten that i've played and i've played a lot of them. i've already played it 2 times and each time it surprises me. each time it gets better and better.
even in this condition it's worth 20 dollars / euros. the atmosphere is incredible. the level design the sound .... you can see that the developers understand and know what game design is. i wait for every update like it's a new gta. i can write all day why this is a good game and why it gets better and better with every update. but there's no point in wasting time reading long reviews just play it
A solid immersive sim. The Victorian aesthetic is pretty cool and the voice acting is top notch. Huge Resident Evil vibes with the inventory system and the merchant. There's a lot of options while traversing through each area and hidden secrets throughout each level. Blood Moon difficulty isn't for the weak.
It's so refreshing to play a stealth sim this good. It's fun, it's captivating, and generally well made. It's not incredibly difficult, but it does give you a good challenge. The horror parts are just the cherry on top. 10/10, can't wait to see what comes next!
I'm definetly coming back when it's completed because what i've played from it is extremely good so far. It's like deus ex 2000's infiltration missions, but with less options and bigger maps, tons of voice acting, etc. I do wish there were some more open/free roam area's but i haven't played much yet, and also more options would be nice, but with the main character being just some person it's hard to implement (no augs)
A genuinely unique survival horror/stealth game experience that I had no idea I needed until I played it. Do not overlook this gem.
its a REALLY good immersive sim
the atmosphere and sound design are extremely good. exploration is always incentivized and rewarded. plot is mysterious and engaging. gameplay is hide-and-seek but tense when you have to fight.
I bought this game without any prior info expecting a quick stealth/action indie title to blast through on an afternoon. I was horrifically underestimating the vast amount of content in this game.
All of the varying level designs I've come across, the enemies, mechanics introductions, story elements, amount of player autonomy to go through every level as you wish has made such an enjoyable experience.
I'm writing this only 2-3 sections into the game so far, but knowing I have much more to go through yet I'm more than happy to give this a positive review.
if you like stealth and well made levels this is the game for you its like if resident evil and newblood had a baby
great sinnister survival series great feel and atmosphere. i hope for more ocean stuff to come maybe even some mountain.
New Blood Interactive never disappoints
a solid stealth game with lots of character
Excellent atmosphere, resource management, and stealth. Honestly, if a new old-school Thief game came out every six months for the rest of my life, I probably wouldn't need to play anything else.
eh, looks rly rly cool, og xbox era graphics, but the gameplay is so painfully slow that it hurt my soul
Excellent game. It's like Dishonored and Resident Evil combined.
so its not really like any other new blood game so if you are expecting a shooter its not for you, but if you are expecting a immersive sim then it is
Well I've beaten the early access and I got to say I had fun. Stealth games usually aren't my thing but it was fun to out smart the enemy's and I really enjoyed the aesthetic. I did run into a glitch that made it so I could't draw my weapons and had to restart from the beginning but other than that its a good game. I'm looking forward to more.
Honestly - very good. can be a struggle if you arent careful enough but overall i love it so far
Amazing indie immersive sim. Level design is crazy good, can't wait for the next update.
I just finished my first real playthrough of Gloomwood. Schew! The game is the same vein as Thief and Dishonored - you sneak around an area, silently take down enemies, and find keys and flip switches to open passages. I focused on stealth, but you can do a combat style if you wish (I did end up doing more combat in The Hive area). The level design is good and there are multiple ways to get places. I always curious to see what's next. This is an easy game to recommend, especially if you already like New Blood games.
Play this game, absolute masterpiece of ambiance, and environmental story telling. Simple mechanics that have more depth only limited by your own creativity. If you're wondering if you should try this game. The answer is yes, play this game.
There's like 1/5th of the game in here and it's still one of the best things I've ever played. Best immersive sim since Prey 2017
If you love stealth games like dishonered and especially the old thief series then gloomwood is the best game on the market for you right now!
The game has a beautiful mix of environments which each need to be treated differently and have many different ways to traverse them to reach your objective. Despite it being early access there is already a lot of content here while playing i was worried the game would simply be my charachter moving from A to B but around 5~6 hrs in i reached what i assume the game will use as hub area for the game and the vision of what New blood is trying to build here is very clear and has me very excited.
My only real frustration with the game was the limited inventory space early on. while exploring towards the first hub area you are given a lot of fun tools to experiment with and valuable unique items which you will be wanting to sell but it takes just a bit too long for you to reach the place to sell them which might have you a little frustrated if you are a horder like me. they do solve this later by giving you the possibility of an inventory upgrade but to me that comes a little too late especially when some tools feel less optional really limiting your space.
This might seem like a very small and personal complaint and that's because it is! there really is nothing else to complain about in the current version of the game and if you are even slightly considering buying the game i would highly recommend you simply take the plunge and get dragged into the dark and intriguing world of Gloomwood
Absolutely amazing immersion and artistic ability shown throughout. The way every single bit of this game is designed just feels so finely-tuned to what it's trying to achieve, and I love it. One of the greatest examples of an atmospheric game there is right now. Only a small portion of the game is actually finished as of writing this, but even still I got a good 8 hours out of it. Super excited to see where this game and its eerie, mysterious world goes next.
4/5 (Very Good)
This game is fantastic, i recommend going into it blind. The game mechanics such as stealth, weapons and puzzles are well made. The story is great the game always leaves a clue for a mystery. The exploration is rewarding and searching every corner of the map leads to many results. The notes left around leave so much intrigue to explore more. The sound design is phenomenal, hearing though doors and getting information from waiting on what to do is great. This game rewards patience for enemy patterns and walk patterns. The only con i have is the mantling mechanic, it fells bad and is inconsistent on when its activated, and overall very annoying to use in one section of the game.
This game isn't complete yet and it's still one of my favorite stealth games of all time. I eagerly play each patch as I wait for the full release. Play on the hardest difficulty if you want to force yourself to be stealthy and inevitably lose 2 hours of progress because you didn't want to consume the save item.
