tried to load it up, cant hit continue button. tried the fix they suggested on a pin which shouldnt even be a thing, and it still dont work. really lame and disappointing. no response from devs. refunding.

Love the idea so so much, but I have two monitors
And as of right now if you click to stretch it to both screens, the wolf stays in the center area between your monitors
I can't click any of the commands and I had to make it go to one monitor just to type their name,
I couldn't read any of the text or click the play options with it stretched either
again, I ADORE this idea and would love to see it patched to work on multiple screens
(all I need is to be able to click and drag everything like you can the menu ♥)
I do love the concept of this so much though! ♥
it ran all night and almost broke my gaming system. it gets really boring and even when you close steam you can still hear the birds chirping. It doesn't stop, on time it wouldn't let me close it. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. but that was my experience.
I would recommend this game to you because it is fantastic! If you enjoy other games ( Like Wolfquest ) This game will be a match! It is fun to pick your wolf, see what your wolf grows up to be, and play with your wolf! In summary, Buy it!
This game... Wow, where do I even start... Literally had my crying within the first like, 4 minutes (probably even less), it's just so beautiful. I love the lil wolves, the enviroment, the music, just... everything... it's all just so incredible 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
Awesome desk top pet, not many interactions so it becomes a lil repetitive at times but its still a good aesthetic for my set up, haven't tried the fox but I would say its about the same
Amazing game. runs right when computer loads, the wolf is automated, so it takes care of themselves. You can assist it in hunting rabbits, and you can even play fetch like a dog! It's such an uplifting and zen style game, well worth the price.
This game is BUSTED! Still in early access
It says on the store page that it's out of early access but inside the game on the menus it says early access. There is a splash screen at the start saying it's early access. I tried starting it several times, it doesn't save settings. I turned the volume on the music and the sound effects all the way down and there is still sound of animals walking
This is a busted game that is not even trying to be a full release. Just try starting it yourself. If I could link screen shots I would. this is not a full release.
updating my review again because i have a thousand hours
This game isnt the most immaculate and great game that todays gaming standards push, but it dosent have to be. Its a simple background running game that has its own beauty, you just have to look for it. Though its just a little 3D game that runs on the background of your computer and barley costs any space, its also cheap and an amazing investment. The music is a nice background sound and the ambiance of the wolf howling and the sound of its paws on the grass is a nice touch to the peacefulness this game allows. To mention, its also an easy way to flex on your friends for having like 1,000 hours in it just for it to be running in the background. This is a great game and only has a few minor glitches or problems. The AI isnt the smartest per say and will get itself stuck in the water around the bridge or will glitch into a reoccuring pattern, but its minor details that you dont even notice if its running in the background. I would suggest turning off slideshow backgrounds if you have one as the picture that your slideshow changes into will glitch through the game and cause a flashing image issue, but its not that big of a deal and you can just change the time setting on your slideshow or you can turn it off completely. Suprisingly you can even control the graphics if your computer cant take the highest graphic setting (RIP your PC). 10/10 would reccomend.
Pros:
Beautiful graphics - Simple, but done in a way that is really pleasing to the eye, Small details such as the grass moving when you wolf walk through it and the trail of paw prints really add to it.
Music - The soundtrack in really, really relaxing.
Filters - Love the filters that are included to change to mood of the program.
Cons;
Menu; The control panel is a bit fiddly. Its hard to navigate setting up to not run on start up. Also had issues confirming when the program frist ran. Would really benefit if issues around setting rasied in discussions was integrated into the program menu.
Directing wolf: Just doesnt work. Cant direct it anywhere.
Interacting: For a program that is meant to run as a live wall paper, it seems like you need to confirm the action for the wolf to eat?
Overall, this has a huge amount of promise and as an early release, I'm quite happy I paid for this. Would love to see the day/night cycle have an option to sync to a day/night cycle of 24 hours.
Smol bug: sometimes the rabbit doesn't load in, and the wolf does some strange swaying animation after it eats?
Otherwise-
This game is 1000% worth getting if you just want to listen to some chill music and occasionally play with your little buddy on screen. This game is VERY aesthetically pleasing, cute, and has good sound effects (for walking, the howls, ect). It's just very well put together for a desktop game. And the landscapes oml! They're so pretty. Day or night it's just beautiful.
I streamed this for a bit and just had some people vibing enjoying the game while we chatted so it was worth streaming for a bit too. If you just wanna have some time to play something while still having full conversations and interactions -without distractions- with your stream, it's worth the download.

Right off the bat, a popup i didn't think much of with no text to tell what i was clicking yes or no to without realizing until after i clicked yes, i taught my little Charlie to eat a poisonous glowing pink neon shroom and it started shaking and i will feel terrible about that for the rest of the night.
My game does not work. My wolf does his own thing and hardly eats and sleeps. I can not tell him were to move and there are so little animals. DEVS SEE THIS
okay, so first, yes i recommend this....idle art of wallpaper, it has the potential to get great, you have to take care of your own wolf, so to speak, and for price and content comparisson, it will be a sweet deal once this is released, but as of right now it is still in early access, and it shows:

the enivorement: has a art style i see back at like the game Unturned, but doesn't make the game bonkers
central:
the wolves art style and such, look i get it, it has a paper feeling, probaply made in blender, and probaply as far as you can go, it isn't bad, its just on central
the camera, what's wrong with the camera? i'm not too bothered about it but it looks like the cameraman had a drink too many
what i absolutely find mclunky:
no camera controll, no zoom in or out, lack of color on wolves at some points, almost no interaction with the wolf avaiable, but that's gonna fix along the roadmap, when you want him to get to a location, it doesn't react to that, goes the other way most of the time
look i do not expect it to be the next Sims 6 (if that's gonna happen, this wallpaper maker is a god) but i personally like to have this more than double the amount of early access pure to see where this is going, this is what i suggest:
@@ make the camera so that you can see the map and the area behind you, and make the camera drunk when its idle, following the wolf, (just like right now)
@@ when you go to a location, make the animation when you click on it ''confirm'' that you have chosen this area to go, right now its a little confusing
@@ more work on AI of the wolf, like you said, its basic, and it shows
@@ more tree and bush types, and a little bit more animal variety, i would love that
@@ some instructions for basic people, would be good too
i find this idle wallpaper a precious gem, and you do too, i see that, consider these options and the option to take this a little longer in early access, pure because i know you can do more to it...
edit 1: more berry bushes or apple tree's that bloom in the summer, bear fruit in the autumn...add life to the enivorment
There's no option in settings to turn it off on startup, please fix this, I had to uninstall it to stop it

would i recommend it? eh, its okay. Good for the price
This is a really neat product. The only complaint I have is the lack of instructions. Clearly there are things to do/ interact with. The only thing I have been able to verify is that you can throw a ball for the wolf to raise the heart bar.
I have seen other animals, including a bear and another wolf, but there seems to be little to no interaction when they show up.
The wolf doesn't seem to need help learning how to eat. The wolf sleeps on his own.
The only bar that changes based on interaction seems to be the ability to throw a ball. If there is better documentation somewhere, please point me to it. Otherwise I'd say this is about as good as any gif wallpaper.
I'm torn because the "game" is cute. It might be for you. But it advertises interactive play with the pet, and since it does not really provide that, I cannot reccomend it.
You do not actually help this wolf at all. He runs from his threats, eats when his bar gets empty, and sleeps at his whim. All cool things for a wolf, not really what was advertised.
The game is passive, meaning it plays in the background on your desktop in negative space automatically. It adds a lot of fun to downtime staring at my desktop, that is now live with a virtual pet! He's with me for all my research, my work, and when I sign off for the night. The wolf grows on me, as I follow them around endlessly through the fields.
A great virtual companion for PC users. Great for people who like classic or creative desktops or screensavers. Makes Windows desktop a game itself. I hope for more updates and content, I hope for custom wolves too.
Amazing concept! it doesn't take too much pc resources compared to what I would expect for a game running in the background as a wallpaper and still runs smoothly despite it being an early access. Though I would suggest adding more interactive options, its very fun to play around whenever I procrastinate about a project. For me, I found it interesting to explore the digital wallpaper's world and see how my wolf responds to his surroundings. Overall a great game (or wallpaper).
Surprisingly good and rather cute! This has the potential for a lot of promise.. No sound yet etc but it runs really well.. And now my wolf is getting older, he takes longer to stand up, can't be bothered to chase the toys as much! He also learned to run from bears instead of try and fight, he can now defeat hostile wolves, got himself a playmate.. Even starts bugging me if i haven't given him enough mouse pointer attention! It's working across my weird three screen setup, not perfectly due to the FOV but that's more my fault, as the main one is 4K and the others are 1080p.. But on a 1080 Ti its running rather well like that! For the cost and hopefully more development i'd recommend it! This has some great potential to be really interesting. Encountered the odd stuck bug but just restart it and its fine.. Be good if you could have more than one wolf though or an entire pack! :D An option to toggle slightly fancier graphics would be nice, maybe a 'fix' for people running weird screen setups? And as i type my wolf has done a poop and is now chasing off a hostile one! I need to stop watching it so much...
It works while my Family Library Sharing is still available, that's a huge plus.
The lack of sound is kinda disappointing tho.
This game, if you can call it a game...it's more of a tamagotchi wallpaper, is amazingly cute. The graphics are beautiful and so far everything has run smoothly, though I do have rather a beast of a computer so I can't exactly speak on how it will run on lower end stuff. There's a few issues I have, like not know exactly how to interact with my wolf...what's these confirms and go backs he keeps showing me? How do I help him hunt or help defend him from birds? Also there's no sound yet, though the sliders are there...so I assume the developer is working on those.
The only issues so far that I see are something I'm positive the developer is working on adding, because this is early access after all so I'm content to wait patiently and try to find any bugs to help him/her make this game awesome. If you like cute...if you like animals...if you like little games where you take care of animals, I think you'll really like this game and I recommend you picking it up, it's at such an absurdly low price you can't exactly go wrong.
A game made by my older brother ;D I did not believe that it will come out even as Early Access one day (They worked on it for over a year xD lol ), but it is there and it seems to work well. And by the way, the wolf do pee and poop. Yes! I told him that if it was to be a wild wolf that eats, drinks, etc. it has to do that too. So you have it thanks to me ;d Thanks Bro! :D
