This game is literally hard just for the sake of being mean-spirited. (The original had the same issue, so my fault for being so cluelessly optimistic, I suppose.)
If, like me, you love FPS games, but don't need them to be overly difficult, don't buy this. It has precious few difficulty options, and those it has are not helpful at making the game an enjoyable experience. I had to use cheats to feel that I got anything out of this title, which is never a great sign for the game design in general.
Please add sex with Big Tiddy Goth Chicks
Scarab my beloved.
This game is so dull and repetitive that even after over a decade I still can't bring myself to finish it for a second time
YET ANOTHER CLASSIC FRIM cRYTRCG[
Yer anothrt
other classic from Crytech. way different art direction than Crysis

A great game! Much improved follow on to the previous versions. Excellent!
Although much more linear than the first game with some mechanics "streamlined" (dumbed-down) the game is still very enjoyable. Great variety in weapons and enemies with some brilliant set pieces. It does feel a bit like it is trying to be COD too much at times but I would still recommend the game.
It fleshes out the characters and story much more than the first game and takes everything in an interesting and entertaining direction.
Probably the best in the series as it has the best locations and the best encounters.
Visually spectacular franchise and this game doesnt disappoint.
Campaign is great but from ny experience the mp wasnt so good (lag issues since all the games werw from europe) but its a great game none the less and its great with reshade/nvidia freestyle
The graphics are real and the gameplay is immersive
Best RPG ever. Full stop.
superb
These day my machine definitely runs Crysis 2. Maximum graphics...it still is though, and the set pieces are huge as the battle against the Ceph moves to New York City. So good in fact, that the Australian Navy used the CryEngine 3 on which the game was developed for training their helicopter pilots.
A flimsy storyline seem the story pick up from the first game three years on where Prophet promptly dies and give you the suit and charge you with ending the invasion before the US government authorise a nuclear attack on Manhattan Island. Each of the 19 missions offers a variety of approaches to the ultimate target, but in the end you are funnelled to a boss point or goal point. You can stealth, snipe, run and gun or cover shoot your way through the levels and you are prompted to view and choose high ground or the cover of the low ground and these options are prompted for you early in the level stages. This means you can adopt a variety of playstyles and switch between them at any point in the level.
The enemy AI is pretty good, once you fire on them those in the sight line will ping your location and not just open fire, but will move towards you. This means you will have to move, plan and react to the battle and you will have lots of battles. Levels usually consist of some narrow manoeuvring before opening up into a larger field of play with these larger set pieces in.
There is a good range of weapons, but with limited ability to customise. Quite often is a very CoD way the weapon you need is conveniently laid out at the position you are supposed to use it from. So there's some hand holding that lessons the thrill of the win a little. The difficulty level is a little low overall, given these are the people who made the original Far Cry. The draw distance on sniping and bazookas is good and there is flash and destabilising recoil on some of the large weapons meaning you have to be careful with your aim. Generally these things are pretty good, but there is a lack of proper kick in the sound for some of these weapons and the ability to customise them with points earned through combat, seems to have little impact on the weapon operation.
The music score that accompanies the game is top notch which goes a long way to adding to the rising tension as you approach those set pieces in each level. The voice acting for the NPCs are poor on the whole, but do not spoil things because the story is utter balls and holds little interest. The side characters who try to help you are quickly cast aside two thirds through and were never really developed anyway. Who cares? Character and story are not the reason we buy an FPS. The gradual Ceph takeover and destruction of the city however is a great development to observe as the game chugs on to its conclusion. .
And development is something that seems tightly under control on Crysis 2. You can use points (earned from killing Ceph) to upgrade your suit, but you will likely only be able to choose one route of upgrade to max out over the course of the game. However this seems to have little overall impact on things as the enemies scale with you in a relative sense. The disappointment here is that there never come a point (as there usually is in FPS games) when you have clawed your way to enough XP to become overpowered and reach that awesome god-like status to be able to scythe through opponents. Some people consider this a flaw in FPS games and if that's you, then you will be pleased at the scaling of the games difficulty, but I think reaching this point is often one of the most enjoyable parts of an FPS. In Crysis 2 however, the pace and level of opposition feels pretty constant all the way through. It only just qualifies for a moderate dropout rate on 'How Long to Beat' with 6.1% quitting the game and the difficulty of the game overall seems a little low, with the emphasis placed on action rather than challenge.
I played the Maximum Edition, which was just a repackaging with additional multiplayer maps, skins and a couple of additional weapons. Overall this had enough of a grand scale, with great graphics backed up by an awesome soundtrack to make for a great game experience. It was not quite the thrill and novelty of the first one, but more than enough to keep you going to the end. In all Crysis 2 should take you about 15 hours to play, There are collectables strewn about levels and music and extras to unlock, but the bear no relation to the story and don't benefit your loadout, so I'm not sure why anyone would bother.
These days your machine runs Crysis and this second instalment is certainly worth a look if you enjoyed the first.
Crysis 2 is not about Nomad anymore, it's about Prophet, aliens and New York. I replayed this game at least 5 times and 3 of them on the maximum difficulty. It is a great game, the stealth is the best part of it. What saddens me is that there're no achievements in this game.
Beautiful environments and an exciting story. If you were a fan of the first, you won't be disappointed with Crysis 2.
anti power fantasy game
weak ass fat whale cant do anything, game jank as hell, everything is slow and broken, nothing feels smooth
everything is clunky and unsatisfying, yes the music is good.
F**KING MASSIVE when Final Release 6 years ago, decided to buy Max Version for Nostalgic feeling.
better than Today Release of Course.
If you are okay with only checkpoint saving and infinite enemies in some parts of the game, then this is for you. I am not...I quit about 25% into the game.
still one of the finest and graphically pretty shooters ever made!
great fun! A++
Recommended solely for the theme song.

The suit goes hard ngl
A game that is extremely underrated and overhated. The Crytek Engine still holds up to this day. Oh and it's longer than the MWIII campaign as well.
I have played this game before but wanted to play it again since I had a good time with it. The game is a sequel to the game Crysis where the setting doesn't take place in an island but in the US in New York. You start as a soldier in a submarine then get saved by the Prophet who gives you the suit. In the game, you notice that the game is more linear-based instead of more open-world-like compared to the first one. The first game I liked more because of the multiple choices you could make to get to your objective by being stealthy or loud. In this game, you can use attachments for your gun by finding them on soldiers or near ammo crates that have guns with attachments like a silencer, scopes, and under barrels. You fight the Ceph in this game and when you kill them they drop nanonites that you use for modifications for your suit. There are 3 different types of upgrades you can use for 4 different things the suit upgrade can do. You can find collectibles in the game but I didn't bother getting them all because I have no reason to get them. You can drive vehicles like military vehicles. There are only 2 I can think of. The military jeep and the APC. Most of the time I play this game I go loud because I'm not good at stealth in this game. There are new weapons in the game like weapons that are most useful against the Ceph. There's the K-volt which is pretty much an SMG but uses electroshock ammo. Mk 60 which is a lmg you can use and get ammo for from ammo boxes and from soldiers that use the gun. The X-43 MIKE is a weapon that is mostly useful against Ceph for me since it does more damage than the other guns I use on them. There are probably other weapons but they're mostly the same. The OST for the game is done by Hans Zimmer, which needs no explanation if you already know him. After beating the game for the second time I give this game a 8 out of 10. I do recommend getting this game in case your wondering how the sequel is. I hope my review makes you think twice about getting the game. Have a good day.
gives me a bit flashbacks to back then. 6,5/10
Very good story, played before having Steam so I don't have all my wasted hours recorded. No longer open world, still good game.
Doesn't have the freedom of the original Crysis but it's a fine experience if you accept it for the console driven cinematic experience it is. The story is good, voice acting is great, music rocks.
I enjoyed this game.
Super game.
I liked Crysis a lot and also liked Crysis 2 a lot. There are things I liked better with Crysis than Crysis 2, but there are also areas where Crysis 2 is better. The main thing that Crysis 2 does better is to mix up the missions where you fight alien and human enemies. In Crysis, you fought humans in the first part, which was fun and fought flying aliens in the second part, which wasn't that fun. Crysis 2 doesn't have any flying aliens, but it does have plenty of aliens and the first ones showed up a couple of hours into the game. Even late in the game, you still get to fight some humans, though, which is a nice change. While the aliens are more fun to fight than in Crysis, they're still less fun to fight than humans and the armored aliens are even less fun, but then again, bullet sponge enemies are rarely fun.
Crysis 2 isn't as open as Crysis, since you're in a ruined Manhattan instead of an island, but I still felt like there were more than one way to get across the area. This, together with a few other things made the game feel like I had access to significantly more options than other, more linear, more restricted FPS games. Just the fact that you can jump really high and grab hold of ledges made this game much more fun. You can also pick up and throw various items, including a generous amount of explosive barrels.
What I don't like about Crysis 2 compared to Crysis is that they've seemed to reduce the number of suit powers. There is no speed power, instead you can simply sprint until you use up your energy. I think the enhanced strength power is always active, but can only be used with button prompts, like when you're near a car it says "press F to power kick". Not a lot of them to kick around and rarely in a spot where you can use it to tactical advantage. This makes it feel like you have less ways to play around with the suit powers than Crysis.
The two-weapon limit is a decision where I'm like "I'm not surprised, but I am disappointed", because I mainly play old-school shooters without this limitation. There are plenty of good weapons, but I would have liked to be able to carry at least 3 or 4 guns at any time. Perhaps there is a mod for that, since the main menu does have a Mods section.
Crysis 2 has much better endgame content than Crysis, but I got a bit tired of shooting aliens before it actually ended. Well, it wasn't too long and I had fun most of the way, so I definitely recommend this to people who liked Crysis or FPS games in general.
The best in the series, absolute masterpiece of a game!
It is still a fasinating pice of game! The movification did great for this. Yeah the previous was a big sand box, this is smaller .... but for a reason ... maybe because the constant tense of presure it was a better experience for me. This is a masterpice of FPS!
I cba to write. It's just good.
