This game caught and held me for 6 hours straight, so addictive and fun to play! Fully like all the mechanics. The locations and stories are also very diverse, unique and immersive, each having its own challenges and secrets. Strongly recommend!
I played the demo before the release of the full game, and I've got to say, I'm so glad I decided to get the full game because oh my god - this is just the best mix of gorey, satisfying and lore all in one game.
I'm a neat freak, so I absolutely had to get 100% in everything, which at times, was a little frustrating (who puts a globe behind a door??) but was completely worth the satisfying 100% at the end. I didn't get all the secrets as I was mainly just casually playing for my first run, but I will replay the game in the near future to get all the achievements.
I was honestly pleasantly surprised! If you're on the fence, go ahead and just buy it. I had so much fun playing this game and was incredibly sad that it ended so soon! A mix of cleaning, searching and puzzles(?). Please add some DLC to this game, it was a blast.
An excellent cleaning game, I had a great time with this the story was enough to keep you engaged and I enjoyed finding the extra secrets. Also going home and petting the dog was the highlight for me :D I loved the dry commentary from Kovalsky and the little funny things added to each scene. I haven't been this engaged in a cleaning sim since power wash simulator.
A decent enough stopgap while waiting for VCD2. A little too hand-holdy for my tastes, though. I'd rather have to pay attention to my work than to just fill a bar that tells me when I've done 100%.
If you like Powerwashing Simulator, House Flipper, or Viscera Clean Up... You'll love this. The trophies are fun to get, and the levels have a wide variety. I truly enjoyed this game, and I really am hoping they will release more content.
If you liked Viscera Cleanup Detail, this game goes a little more in depth mechanics-wise and all the different tools and even detergents for your buckets to buff your mop. The modern, CSI-like setting is interesting and the storyline is fun and humorous. 10/10
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to provide a "dinner service" in the world of John Wick? This is for you. No gold ducats, but tons of oddly satisfying "service" to provide.
This is a morbidly entertaining game. Cleaning is satisfying, the small story details sometimes are very dark, there are also puns. You can clean with delicacy or just break small things by cleaning (and pick up after your mess).
You have to: clean the blood, remove the trash, throw bodies around, throw garbage cans around, do some inside decor, pet your good boy Dexter. What's not to like?
Worth full price tbh, well design levels, main story is a bit dull if you ask me, but the gameplay is very entertaining. Each level has pretty cool easter eggs from the devs, some are obvious you cant miss it and some are well hidden and need some Pop-Culture knowledge to understand. I fully recommend the game, I feel hella motivated to clean my house now, tho I had saturday night party and it's looking like in game level.
This game is a true Gem and more fun than any new AAA and AAAA games the release nowadays.
I was just came for some relaxing crime cleaning but got surprised by deep and dark story behind every scene and locations. The skill tree is good and cleaning and physics feel so great .
Bravo to developers, I hope to see more contents in future
Really love this beautiful game!
Yes, I know I don't have much playtime in it, but I've played this game as a playtest version
Great cut-scene, envoirement and voice acting.
You might not expect this game having a story, but it does! It also has secrets you can gathere around.
Now buy this game and clean everything a 100%, don't you dare miss a thing!
10/10 game!
Get Goo Goo Alu !
Excellent take on the recent Powerwash Simulator gimmick. In fact, I would argue that this makes it all the way more interesting in terms of execution of the concept. Incredible tragedies that Mr. Kovalski has to clean up after, what with his dry humor and Dr. House voice. Technically, it could be better, but damn if this isn't a great effort by the team.
probably the best cleaning sim on the market
- everything feels (polish)ed
- all kinds of locations, they don't feel repetitive
- great voice acting, good jokes and references
It's like if Viscera Cleanup Detail was as polished of a game as PowerWash Simulator but with a higher production value, while also getting to play as a grounded Postal dude. 9/10
THIS. IS A MASTERPIECE. BUY IT. NOW.
I think anyone will be able to enjoy this game, regardless of your preferences. Why? It's just TOO good. You start off as a "janitor" struggling to pay for your daughter's medical bills, and end up tied in with the mafia. Throughout the story, you will come across several different crime scenes that you have to clean. Clues you have to find. You piece together EACH story slowly, all while cleaning. No, your character doesn't give a rat's arse about how it happened, just trying to make bank... But maybe you, the player, will see the crime scene and think "wtf happened here...." And enjoy a bit of investigating as you clean.
There are also lots of hidden things to find too. There's something about this game that makes it morbid, yet relaxing. Satisfying... To say the least. Intriguing. The developer recently dropped trading cards, and I am HOPING they add more scenes to clean in the future too! I finished the entire game in around 24 hours. I played nothing but this game for like 3 days straight and was so sad when I finished it. 10/10 on my list, and is one of my favorites thus far.
It's a 13-hours game, but it's a straight upgrade to Viscera Cleanup Detail.
It's relaxing to clean things up and fix them.
There is also a tech tree and secrets, so you are rewarded for a full clean handsomely.
The devs also added the references that you don't expect to see in a mainstream game.
This game is awesome.
Amazing! Love the detail and storyline, if this game came out with a Crime Scene Cleaner 2 ID TOTALLY PLAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PowerWash Sim, meets organization sim, meets true crime. Funny PC, fun mechanics, enjoyable levels. I'd love to see a sequel or more content. 10/10 - if you like quirky cleaning games, I suggest this one.
I love this game so much, the whole atmosphere of this game is just soo good, the scenes are interesting, the cleaning is satisfying and chill, i feel like this is a perfect game, i wish there would be even more scenes cause i would love to continue playing it
Very much like Powerwash simulator with some more...unsavory scenes. Plenty of puzzles to figure out too. I like it.
just finished 100% in less than a week so it's strangely addicting to say the least lol (i think i will be returning to play it again occasionally as well)
expect some jank tho, i had to go back for a mission to get a perfect score cuz a singular bullet got stuck underneath the floor and i had no way to retrieve it (cuz i mopped the area without picking up trash first and some collision broke something i guess). it would also often take me multiple attempts to get bodies into my car cuz it would either not register they're inside cuz it was too full already or they'd get stuck in the model of the car and flail wildly while remaining vertical.
the game doesn't take itself or the subject matter too seriously. which i have found a bit distateful at times, especially when it then does try to take something seriously and it just feels incredibly jarring in comparison. however part of that is just a cheesy sense of humor which can vibe with people.
i just really don't think they should've included a suicide of a woman in an abusive relationship with the comment "she warned you all" (that she would kill herself, if her dad didn't approve of her bf) upon picking up her body. and then add a song about wanting to die that's playing when you enter and you can pick up to listen back to every time you want. just feels odd af either have people get murdered with a pizza cutter or take death seriously. doing both is difficult.
that being said, i quite enjoyed the memey humor in the environment especially and sometimes in finding evidence. kept things from becoming monotonous and it does feel like every level improved upon the previous in some way, and isn't just a bigger map for the sake of wasting your time.
idk if updates are planned but i'd love to play more levels. the story is a bit lackluster but that's okay, i'm here for the relaxing gore lol
Crime Scene Cleaner is one of those games that takes you by complete surprise. The concept of spending hours scrubbing virtual blood, disposing of bodies, and cleaning up crime scenes might sound bizarre, but somehow, this game makes it not just enjoyable, but oddly relaxing. It’s hard to explain without sounding a bit unhinged, but trust me—this game is an absolute blast.
What really sets Crime Scene Cleaner apart is its ability to balance dark humor with a satisfying gameplay loop. Each level is meticulously crafted, and the act of cleaning is so well-designed that it feels almost therapeutic. The game’s story adds a fantastic layer of depth, keeping you engaged as you uncover more about the world and the characters involved. And don’t even get me started on the easter eggs! Every time I play, I stumble upon a new, hilarious hidden detail that makes the experience even better.
The graphics are top-notch, immersing you in each grimy, gritty scene while still maintaining a level of polish that’s impressive for a game with such a unique premise. The attention to detail in the environments and the tools you use really pulls you into the world, making every cleanup feel meaningful.
If there’s one downside, it’s that the replayability isn’t the strongest. Once you’ve cleaned up a crime scene and uncovered its secrets, there’s not much incentive to return. That said, the developers have plans for updates, and I’m eagerly waiting to see what they’ll bring to the table.
Overall, Crime Scene Cleaner is an amazing game with great graphics, a captivating story, and an unexpected ability to make the macabre both fun and relaxing. If you’re looking for something offbeat and entertaining, this is a game you absolutely need to try. Just be prepared to explain why you’re enjoying virtual mopping so much—you’ll probably get a few raised eyebrows!
Never has cleaning been so satisfying!
Financial problems require drastic solutions, especially when a loved one needs expensive medical care that you just can't afford with your regular janitor's salary.
Mr. Kovalsky is burdened with bills that he pays off with his new special cleaning job.
For his beloved daughter, he even wipes the most vile stains spotlessly.
The missions are entertaining and the little stories make it somewhat realistic. There are also lots of easter eggs waiting to be discovered.
If you don't feel like cleaning in real life, consider trying this game; it might motivate you to pick up your mop.
I have OCD and I enjoyed cleaning every corner of the game—it was pretty relaxing and fun to play. I'd definitely recommend this to my fellow neat freaks.
Satisfying. I enjoy the gentle ambient music, and the slow evolution of your apartment as you progress. Lots of easter eggs and fun stuff to find if you open all the drawers, too.
Well worth the money.
This is kinda like House-Flipper, but with a little more gruesome backdrop. A fun little twist to it, is that you're not cleaning up a crime-scene after the police has finishd, you're cleaning up after various mob-hits.
It is oddly satisfying to come into a complete mess with blood, corpses and broken glass everywhere and then meticously work your way through each corner with a mop and sponge. Levels grow larger as you go, and unlocking skills makes tasks quicker/easier. It's nicely voice-acted too, many fun easter eggs and pop-culture references.
I hope there will be more content later on, but even if that shouldn't happen; the game is still absolutely worth playing.
If only it had been this much fun cleaning IRL too.
After finishing powerwash simulator I was looking for another game to scratch that itch and this is the game! Oddly satisfying and the secrets are neat
Absolutely loved it. Uncovering the mysteries and hidden secrets within each level was super fun. Extremely satisfying to clean everything up and solve a crime at the same time. Wish there were even more levels!
This game was too short and I demand more!
In all seriousness though, I did quite enjoy the game and did find myself wishing there were more levels.
Fun, simple, and satisfying; If you like games such as "PowerWash Simulator" and "Viscera Cleanup Detail" I recommend giving this smaller title a try.
The humour can get fairly dark at times, so consider yourself warned. (The whole premise of the game is cleaning up the scenes of various murders, after all. If this kind of humour surprises or upsets you, nothing wrong with that, but maybe reconsider playing this title.)
A basic overview without any spoilers:
The story provides a believable motive for the main character's actions, albeit it is a bit simple of a story. Despite being a basic story, (which I do feel given enough time may still have been improved upon a bit), it is clear that the primary focus was placed on building interesting and unique environments to clean and explore. If secret finding and detailed exploration of the environment is something you enjoy, you are in luck here.
The environments do recycle assets, but this is sometimes used in clever ways and it wasn't pronounced enough for me to feel irritated or bored by it. The maps are unique enough to cover for the recycled assets and no map had me wishing that any particular job was over. That can be a difficult balance to strike. Well done on that front, devs.
The skill tree levelling system leaves something to be desired, though most games with this system do. There are one or two perks in each tree I found to be a waste of perk points, though it was pretty obvious early on which ones weren't worth getting. This meant I didn't find myself accidentally wasting any points, which was nice at least. By end game you may feel like you are a bit overpowered and are cleaning up messes with the speed of a blue hedgehog on caffeine pills, but this didn't bother me personally since my focus was on exploration. Not to mention that faster clean up just means a faster hit of that satisfying, sparkling-clean induced dopamine. Though I do understand why this may be a turn off for some players, I still think it is worth giving it a shot since to clean up some more complex messes, it does still help a fair amount to use the skill tree system.
In conclusion:
A fun little romp through the criminal underworld, working your way through fantastical crime scenes and pop culture references abound. Little story relevant secrets are waiting around every corner: most of them a shock to be sure, but only in the best of ways. And now finally, the cherry on the pie; you can pet your dog in your at home down time. Now, who doesn't love a good digital boy?
A very solid 6/10 game. I recommend the game if you're looking for something chill and therapeutic to play.
The best game I have ever played for a while. It is addictive, good story telling, nice jokes and perfect environment. I just wish there are more episodes...
Very chill relaxing and good game also have a pretty interesting story definitely recommend this game when you just want to relax, definitely worth buying
Medical debt ruins lives.
I'm not saying working for a mob boss cleaning up murders is the way to go... but as your protagonist begins drowning in debt, his home is a wreck, and his daughter is sick and unlikely to get the case she needs, you can understand the desperation. As our man delves deeper into the business, not only do his tools and skills improve, but his life as well. His house is cleaned, repainted, rebuilt. His debts taken care of. His daughter's health improves.
It's a relaxing game and satisfying to level up skills and tools between each scene. It's fun as well to hunt for secrets and try to fully clear a level. You can ignore most of the "story" and just play to relax, but I think the fact that the devs actually built a life around this sarcastic man we get to inhabit for this stretch of time makes it even better.
Very addictive and fun cleaning simulator with interesting story beats. Those who have played Viscera Cleanup Detail will know what to expect in terms of gameplay as that feels like a tech demo for this game. You will explore different set locations while cleaning up any blood you see, destroying evidence and re-arranging furniture in order to make it seem like nothing out of the ordinary happened there.
What really helps this game work is that the locations would still be fun to explore even if you didn't have to clean up or do anything. They all have secrets, collectibles and money to find but they also have interesting scenery and varied rooms to unlock within each map.
Before each mission you are given the gist of what happened, but it was also fun to slowly but surely piece together exactly how everything must have happened by discovering recordings, notes, weapons and the state the bodies are in as you mop and scrub everything.
You get money at the end of each mission and the boss considers any money/loot you find as a tip to you. Money is used upgrade a pretty extensive list of abilities which you will need so the later levels don't take forever. After finishing the last mission I still did not have enough points to upgrade everything so you'll need to upgrade the skill trees you deem most useful along the way. After the end you can replay any mission again and unlock remaining skills and achievements that way.
My main point is a proper game has been built around the Viscera Cleanup Detail concept and the result is fantastic. I nominated this game for the 'Sit Back and Relax' Steam Award!
Should really be just named Mob Boss Cleaner. Some parts of game are quite comical but I wouldn't say the game is worth a buy unless its under $10.
Spent 2 hours perfecting a crime scene cleanup only to miss a platinum because of one misplaced chair. 10/10 would cry over furniture again
Crime Scene Cleaner delivers exactly what it promises, plus some extra. This is one of those "sit back and relax" games, hence my nomination for the aptly named Steam Award, and hence the existence of this review.
Potential spoiler warning.
Stepping into the shoes of a father of a child dependent on continuous medical care and the soaring bills that come with such misfortune, you find yourself expanding your janitorial business taking jobs from less-than-law-abiding persons, soon jumping into bed with the big boss. Without asking too many questions, you're tasked with purging a variety of locations of the mess left behind by bad decisions, greed and alcohol. The protagonist is surprisingly cynical and dry, often making comments that some might deem offensive, so keep this in mind when considering the purchase of the game.
During your career, you will be presented with a number of different sub-tasks involving collecting trash, mopping/power washing stains, retrieving misplaced items and setting furniture back into place. You're aided by a kind of sixth sense, visibly marking messes yet to be taken care of. The game furthermore features a classic skill tree progression system, which allows you to cherry-pick those skills you want to excel at. As mentioned previously, Crime Scene Cleaner delivers precisely what you would expect while adding its own unique sense of style and humour to the mix.
I recommend this to people who, like me, would rather clean a virtual crime scene than their own apartment; which is not to say your apartment can't become a real crime scene one day. Food for thought.
It's Viscera Cleanup Detail with realistic style (roughly like House Flipper) and a story that you are free to ignore. Way bigger maps, but a limited amount.
Best game to relax to.
I have never played any sort of "clean-up sim" game prior to this one and I fell in LOVE with it during the demo release. I played the demo and I immediately wish-listed this game and joined the Discord server to make sure I knew when it was coming out. I haven't 100% completed the game yet; I still have some secret items I haven't found or collected, but I am so impressed with not only the art-style and gameplay mechanics, but the story telling as well. It's honestly impressive that this game is a one-of-a-kind in it's categories. I highly recommend this game to anyone who would like to sit back and relax with a side of gore and horror. 10/10.
You know what ? The game is fun and relaxing to play, with some puzzle elements. Not long to be boring. Has good plot with funny jokes and simple but yet twists. Its pretty good for its price.
10/10 will play again, Great Game. Cant wait for some Updates and DLCs. Replayability to hit different tasks and achievements. Its well worth the price!! If your not sure try the demo. Now get to scrubbing!
Crime Scene Cleaner is an indie simulation game that offers players the unique role of cleaning up gruesome crime scenes. With a mix of puzzle-solving and time management, the game challenges you to meticulously scrub away bloodstains, dispose of evidence, and restore order to chaotic environments.
The mechanics are simple yet engaging, rewarding precision and efficiency. The visuals are appropriately gritty, capturing the eerie atmosphere of crime scenes without being overly graphic. The game’s dark humor and occasional quirky characters add a lighter tone to balance its morbid premise. However, some players may find the repetitive tasks tedious over time, as the gameplay loop lacks variety in later levels.
Overall, Crime Scene Cleaner delivers a niche, oddly satisfying experience for fans of unconventional simulation games. While it may not appeal to everyone, its unique concept and dark humor make it worth checking out for those intrigued by the macabre.
This game has no right to be this good. The cutscenes are incredibly well made, the environment staging is impactful and the voice acting is charming. This game combines house-flipper and viscera cleanup detail in a way that improves on what both of those games do. The cleaning is fun and relaxing and I liked collecting the tapes and finding the secrets in each level. I appreciate that they decided not to put a timer on the cleaning as I loved taking my time and being methodical about it.
All in all a great experience and worth the price 100%!
Great game, good mechanics, good story even though it's not a story focused game. Hope ya'll will add more content.
I went ahead and binged this game in a single weekend, so it's safe to say that I enjoyed it very much! If you like Power Washing Simulator and House Flipper, you will definitely love this.
Super fun! Jumping mechanics aren't the best, but that's obviously not a focus for a game like this. I had a great time playing this game.
Just finished my 3rd play-through of the game and I definitely recommend to anyone who loves cleaning games like myself. It's extremely satisfying and, while some may call me a psychopath, the games story is very captivating and interesting. (Developers if you're reading this!!!) If this game were to release some sort of DLC or new content of any sort, I would take out my wallet immediately!!!!
After getting all achievements in the game I can comfortably say
this is one of the best simulators I have played.
Would definitely recommend this game if you like simulators like Power Wash.
really enjoyed this one and completed all the achievements for it. ive played viscera clean up and house flipper, and i would say it's much more in the house flipper style of cleaning (which i personally prefer) with a morbid twist, you even have skill trees to upgrade to allow you to carry/use multiple buckets, track less blood, pick up more trash, ect. the story is fun, even has some sad moments, and honestly left me really wanting more. id love to have more random jobs added, although at the time of writing this i believe they do intend to release more chapters at some point. i have very few issues in the way of bugs, sometimes id pick up 98% trash and despite pinging couldnt find any garbage lit up in the area which would lead to a very minor hiccup to getting a perfect score, but i didnt actually mind replaying any of the maps due to this. all of the maps have some secret areas to find, and collectible music tapes, so either way i would have gone back through them to perfect my score.
