Fisica ruim, Graficos medianos, jogabilidade estranha. 4/10
Best rally games eva
Graphics are very good, soundtrack is OK. Some grinding is needed to make the credits roll but it is a fun game. It is probably the hardest arcade game I've played because the AI opponents don't make any mistakes so if you make one, there is high probability you will not get first spot or even top 3. At medium settings 4 GB VRAM (GTX 1650) occasionally becomes insufficient for this game but it ran well 99% of the time. It crashed only once during 14 hours of my gameplay.
good
bad ai, bad maps, bad physics, typical ea stuff
Good graphics, many beautiful tracks, good eneregetic music.
Unfortunately when weather changes you cant see walls very well and hitting wall slows your car significantly. Strange car driving mechanics, some races you will win by just holding full throttle and then next race you need to break properly and maintain good driving line and still you will struggle to maintain good position.
Some RWD cars will lose traction even on asphalt and even when they are positioned just 10 degerees to driving direction so with controller it is hard to apply enough throttle just to drive very fast and not drift.
Winning all the time and strange car mechanics make game somehow pointless.
This game's tough to place. There's the typical "it's nothing like previous DiRTs, so it's bad" angle; and the "if it wasn't called DiRT, it'd be a respectable arcade game" angle.
I guess both are true.
There's moments of fun in it, and it's fun driving a good line and avoiding hazards at high speeds in some of the thoughtfully-designed courses. There's also some mastery needed with Manual gearing, because you have to know when to prioritize high torque, or when you need to prioritize maximum speed. And sometimes it really does capture glints of what made DiRT great when you're fighting the AI trying to scrape past a tough and bumpy corner at high speed.
But after maybe an hour of play, you begin to notice that the physics feel REALLY vague and mushy, and that more often than not full-throttle is the only way to go. And it basically feels like you're just massaging a hunk of frozen meat to get it to turn, with unimpactful vehicle and wall collisions.
That feeling, combined with the soulless feeling while racing, in the menus, and the loading transitions just make the game feel bland, and make me wonder why I'm even playing it.
Then there's the uneven difficulty. I played it on Very Hard, and a number of events were too easy, but certain events sometimes took me a dozen tries before I could fluke-out a win. And some event types like the Ice Skating events just aren't much fun - and the Gymkhana events are downright terrible, where it feels like you're actively fighting your car in claustrophobic environments where you have no room to express yourself.
Overall, it is a decently fun arcade game if you don't attach the DiRT name to it. But the fun always feels short-lived, since I always want to put it down after about 30 minutes - a far cry from DiRT 2 & 3 each sucking up 45 hours of my life in the blink of an eye.
Go grab Gravel when it goes on sale for $2. It's the best analog I can find to DiRT, especially since every DiRT game but this one is currently deslisted.

Fun,easy,casual
best game ever
Sadly its not that good.
*Playing race event using handbrakes - crap. Spinning car all over.
*Playing race event using break - crap. Opponents catching up in a seconds.
*Drifting events - crap. Are horrible and stage feels too tiny for a car. Plus car handles are totally out of drift action league. Drifting cars are cows on ice - all over the place with they own mind.
*Offroad events - pretty much slide-all-over-corner. Crap.
*Buggy cars - this one accurate: super-suck at corners, typical every US muscle car ever made. aka Crap. :P
*Corners - wall-grind corners reducing speed 10 times. A unforgivable punishment for that move.
*Corners - slide hitting a walls stops you car at halt. Randomly. (looks like collusion bugs there)
*Cars - feels like rogdolls. 2 tons car loves to flip on its roof. lol
*Driving at night - pretty much "When I turn?". Tracks are super dark and on purpose at corners. Did creators seen a Le'Man's 24h races at all? That's how lighted night track should be, when you driving it at over 60 mph.
Career - way too boring and repetitive.. 300 events.. but its feels like a chore.. try-to-do a even.. lose it - skip.. try to-do second finish mid... getting money, points. next event... try-repeat. its not courage you finish first, just some times lock your progress. To force you earn extra badges by beating past evens in better positions. Like try bit better. .. and so on. that pretty much thats a career playthrough.
After Dirt 3... Dirt series just went to drain hole. becoming money milking franchise out of the fans. Buy ONLY at super discounts.
P.S. Limited to 60 fps. Playing stable BUT a random hiccup that drop fps 8. At High setting with DLLS on 4070 RTX. Info from a benchmark test-run withing a game settings. So yeah - game does have graphical unoptimizations too.
i want some arcade racing game with easy UI this is a steal
DIRT 5
Positives:
+ Colourful
+ Nice music
+ Good voiceacting
+ Cool locations to race
+ Quite a lot of varied cars to drive
+ Difficulty settings which you can change at any time
+ Driving aids which you can customize to your liking
+ Small and fast events
+ Pathfinder
+ Tracks in Norway with a norwegian speaker
+ At its best its fun and entertaining
+ Good length in total (about 15+ hours in the main campaign)
+ DLCs expands the total length to about 25+ hours
Negatives:
- Weird soundmixing, gets worse or better depending on your view mode (but often a very loud motor noise on top with low muffled music underneath, changing the settings dosent help much)
- It cant decide if its an arcade or simulation game, and sort of fails at both
- Difficulty is inconsistent from way too easy to quite challenging
- Below par graphics (looks dated by 2020 standards, and its quite blurry as well)
- A bit unstable and choppy framerate
- Its hard to get much higher than 75 fps regardless of graphics settings
- Framerate issues takes away some of the flow
- Controls have an identity crisis simcade feel to it (you'll need to tweak the settings)
- At its worst it can get quite frustrating to play because of the above
- DLCs mostly reuse the same tracks as before
I think this game would be better of if it wasnt called DIRT 5.
Because then you've got a lot of quality games you're going to be compared to.
And a fanbase thats used to getting things made in a certain way.
Because there is no doubt, this game is different.
Some for the better, some for the worse.
And I understand all the hate, and also those who like it as well.
If we are gonna compare it to the other DIRT games,
I would say its closer to DIRT: Showdown than any other titles of the series.
And I enjoyed Showdown, so for me DIRT 5 was a slightly worse version of it.
But its certainly not for everybody, and especially not for the simulation fans of the DIRT series.
But if you can cope with the problems its got, you can have a good time.
Total Score: 7/10
NB! If you cant decide if you want to buy the DLCs, here are some thoughts:
Dont buy the DLCs individually at a full price, thats not worth it.
Either buy the Year One Edition or the Year 1 Upgrade when its on sale.
I also reccommend to buy the Porsche Macan T1 DLC, because its the best car of its class.
Its ridiculous thats its not included in some of the other DLCs, and its a bit overpriced.
But I'll still say its worth it. I used it a lot, and its a real joy to drive.
And dont buy the Ford F-150 Raptor DLC, its just a poor performance car.
There are some new cars and tracks in the DLCs, but there arent many.
I enjoyed the new stuff, but most of it is just reuse of the main campaign tracks.
So if you think 15 hours is not enough gameplay, you should definitely consider to buy the Year One DLC bundle. I did, and I dont regret it.
PS! If you also struggle with microstutters/framerate drops, this is a possible fix:
(Mainly for those who have both e-cores and p-cores in their Intel i-processors of 12th, 13th and 14th generation. May also work on other processors, but its not guaranteed)
- Download and install ParkControl from this link:
https://bitsum.com/parkcontrol/
- Set "Parking" to "Off"
- Select "Performant Processors" on both "Short Threads" and "Long Treads"
- Press "Apply" and start the game
Enjoy!
tons of fun, and loving physics
As a full price "AAA" racing game this is kinda meh. It can be fun at times if you get it in a deep sale, but at full price it's just not really worth it.
I'm fine with it not being really a rally game, and instead just being an offroad racing game, but many of the categories of cars outside of the rally cars aren't satisfying to drive.
The Trophy Trucks and the Formula Offroad feel incredibly sluggish, with the lack of torque converter simulation meaniung you're constantly off the power band due to the very small number of gears.
I also have issues with the RWD cars in general. I have experience driving RWD cars on dirt in sims and sim-ish games, but in this game I just feel constantly all over the place, like I don't really have control over what the car does.
Fun game, so much content
horrible play back could not connect but ate up my wifi.horrable xp!
I really wanted to like this game but the tracks, while being pretty, are quite boring.
The physics in some disciplines are extremely inconsistent, and even then i wanted to continue playing the game.
But then i found out there is no replay, and that really turned me off.
The game can be fun, but it's nowhere near the quality of previous installments.
Good game, recommended for everyone
if you're expecting of Dirt 2 Rallycross with a Dirt 3 point to point timed rally gameplay, you will heavily disappointed, nuff said
but if you're expecting Sega Rally Revo (yes Revo, not Sega Rally 1/2, Revo are total different compare to Sega Rally 1/2) you will have fun like i did
this is like Codemasters take on their own version of Sega Rally Revo, you could call them "Codemasters Rally Revo" instead of "Dirt 5", there is a lot of similarities between this game and SR:Revo, from open wide track designs with setpieces that focus on spectacle, floaty arcade car handling model, and various of offroad vehicle class, the resemblance is there
as long you pretend this is not part of the "Dirt" series, this game is fun
One of the main challenges in most racing games is selecting or tuning up a car to get you over the hurdle of a race you have trouble beating.
This isn't really possible in Dirt 5.
All of the cars are more or less the same and there are very few to choose from.
The game itself is gorgeous and the cars feel pretty good to drive but I only made it so far into the game before I realised that there were just 3 cars to choose from for many of the races unless you want to pay for some DLC to expand your selection to about six cars which is far fewer than most racing games offer right off the bat.
In general I love games from the codemasters studio and even in this one there's some fantastic graphics and gameplay. But it would have to be a near perfect game to justify the lack of selection.
Looks and feels okay, but it's a very boring game :(
fun if you get it on discount, very old school arcade-y feeling, great soundtrack too
cannot get mouse working in this game
Is it an x box only game?
best off road game in my opinion 10 for 10
ive played this game a total of like 50 hours combined form my PS4 and i really like this game, its fun and engaging unlike their other game (DIRT Rally 2.0)
I have been putting off my review on this game for far too long...I gotta do it.
I cannot recommend this game...it's not a DIRT game, not a Rally game either...so what is it? Some sort of blend of driving events that feel like bumper cars with no damage at all to anything, except the few Showdown cars & with awful physics and extremely boring handling models.
No podcast things can save this game...or its soundtrack or even car list, which is not amazing, but not terrible either.
It wants and tries so hard to be fun but it is epitome of what corporate suits think what fun is like...and it only is the exact opposite, as this game could maybe have a different review score if it weren't a DiRT game, just like Showdown as well! The game has amazing track designs & is all so colorful and stylish...but ultimately its gameplay lacks any DiRT or Rally game feeling...and yes, you don't have rally stages at all. You always race AIs...I can only hope this is not the last resort of this franchise as I want to see something as great or better than a DiRT 2. But this one is not even 20% as fun...and I am gonna say it: DiRT 4 is better.
Compared to Dirt 3 it kind of really sucks and moreso plays as a Dirt Showdown 2. Tacky music that I had to mute, the guys from Donut media endlessly talking your ear off, a lack of an actual rally mode, and subpar driving physics really makes this game unfun to play at times. However as a time trial game by turning the rubber-banding AI down to very easy and muting the music and dialogue it can actually be fun as every single level has a leaderboard attached to it so you can check your lap times against everyone else, and it is really gratifying to get a top 1000 or 500 time on a track. So looking at this game from this perspective, id give it a very tentative thumbs up, and only at a deep discount like 85% or more. But if you are looking to get the same feeling you got with Dirt 3, don't bother.
THIS GAME IS TRASH. DRIVING GAME WITH NO WHEEL/PEDAL SUPPORT FOR NAME BRAND SIM EQUIPMENT. GARBAGE CONSOLE GAME.
If you're looking for anything close to an authentic DiRT experience with friends I can't recommend this. Tacky aesthetic and bad music aside (Though I do appreciate the effort to make more music for a DiRT game.) it's really repetitive and there isn't much appeal that other more polished arcade type multiplayer racers don't offer.
This game disappointed me, Dirt 3, Dirt 4, Dirt Rally, are the games ive played, Dirt 4 had its flaws, but Dirt 5 made me question why it exists, there's no realism in the game nothing, and the controls are weird too.
DIRT 5 is an adrenaline-packed racing game with dynamic weather, diverse tracks, and exciting off-road action. Perfect for fans of fast-paced racing!" 🚗💨
more like gravel 2 than dirt 5 but thats no bad thing.
Runs good and looks good.
The graphics are really good and the difficulty is not too much.
stop working windows, no solution?
Unplayable
constant stuttering and freezing with no apparent fix
This is a great game. I really miss this party attitude design choice of the menus, Like in DiRT 2, 3, and Showdown. This design choice was absent in DiRT 4, Rally, and Rally 2.0. I might have to brush up on my Gymkhana skills. I even got the Year One Edition so I can enjoy all four DLC careers.
love the grafics
Fun for co-op play. Arcade-y over-the-top physics. Could be tougher, and maybe more choice of cars, but still a fun couch co-op game (yes, couch co-op)
game is so bad
Apart from better graphics which comes with the year of release the game is not even close to DIRT 3 ... sadly they removed most of the fun stuff that I enjoined in this game and made it some kind of Mario kart... Money badly spent on this game.
somebody put car cosmetics on scooters and called it a car game
Well took me a while and a big discount before I bought this because of the reviews.
That being said I don't regret it at all.
It is not a sim title by any means but as a product next to dirt 2.0 or ea wrc I think it is excellent.
Sometimes you just want to have a not too serious romp in the mud and for that it delivers.
Looks good sounds good and has a good sensation of speed.
Don't expect dirt 2.0 and you willhave quite so e fun.
I loved Dirt 2 and 3.
This is also great.
this game IS SO GOOD MAN EA IS COOK WITH THIS GAME
Obviously you won't get anything realistic or that much of a simulation based racer but hey, it's still a good game, whoever loves arcade racers then this is for you. Graphics indeed feel toony and overly colored but overall the game is playable and works very well than most games what are released half-baked nowadays.
As a racing game it is okay. As a Dirt game it sucks. The racing physics just feel different from the other games. The maps are more extreme and not like the other games.
I fell in love with the car destruction physics and this game just does not do it right. If you want some okay racing game then this is fine to buy. While on sale. I got it on 85% off for about $12 AUD and I would not pay any more than that for this game
Unplayable. Poor wheelbase/pedal support; enthusiast level hardware not supported. Can't even setup controls until after completing the tutorial race. Horrible menu layout. This game is a step backwards from dirt rally 2. Waste of money, want refund.
