Flip the cards, play the cards, enslave your soul to the cards
Gute Arbeit!
Good job! Solid solitaire with many repeatable levels in three difficulty levels: you can choose relaxed, normal and hardcore. It is played on the +1/-1 map layout. For the clever ones, there is the shop where you can equip yourself with secret weapons that make leveling much easier. There are additional levels as small candies. As usual, different artworks are built up through the jewels earned. You earn the achievements "by the way". Card layouts are also very nice: The artwork is loving and consistent, there are different decks and backs. The best way to buy the game is on sale, although it also takes long enough to buy it normally. If you like good solitaires, you should add this one to your collection.
A few biscuits too?
White Chocolate Pistachio and Cranberry Biscotti
Ingredients
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup canola oil
2 large eggs, room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup white baking chips
3/4 cup dried cranberries
3/4 cup pistachios
Directions
Preheat oven to 325°. In a small bowl, beat sugar and oil until blended. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; gradually add to sugar mixture and mix well. Stir in chips, cranberries and pistachios.
Divide dough in half. On a parchment-lined baking sheet, with lightly floured hands, shape each portion of dough into a 10x1-1/2-in. rectangle. Bake 30-35 minutes or until lightly browned.
Place pans on wire racks. When cool enough to handle, transfer rectangles to a cutting board; cut diagonally with a serrated knife into 1/2-in. slices.
Place slices cut side down on baking sheets. Bake 6-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove to wire racks to cool completely. Store in an airtight container.
For a typical Solitare game, this is without a doubt, my favorite and I highly suggest buying it. Besides the basic version, there are a slew of other solitaire versions added in with this game.
Play through the levels of one-up-one-down solitaire to unlock gems which you use to build scenes/castles, which creates a frequently changing background for your game.
There are many types of bonus solitaire to unlock as you play.
This collector's edition contains 320 levels.
Note - Some achievements only seem to unlock on the extra levels even if you meet the requirements on the normal levels.
Solitaire games gives you a calm mind... Taking you away from your life. It's so peaceful and good...
Until you run into a level that seems almost impossible to beat. You start to yell at it, trying to move on... Only to run into several more levels like that. Then you tell your Perfectionism that you don't need it and that you will just play for fun...
But then you go back to those levels and replay them... Telling yourself you just want to prove how crazy they are and you will never beat them. Then somehow you win... Then the other ten levels that you thought you'd never beat... You win them all...
In the end you end up with 320 completed levels with three stars each... Wondering who is the real winner here...
*claps super hard* THANK YOU! :D :^) =)
jewel match solitaire is a long-running card game series, offering the usual +1/-1 gameplay in various fantasy settings, the usual power-ups and decoration/upgrade elements. bonus stuff is what makes them stand out, even if each game in the series is just a reskin of the others, as is customary with solitaires, no matter the developer.
this particular iteration offers 320 levels with the usual 3-star rating system. already a good amount, though not unprecedented, and there are 8 castles to build as well, which are just as involved (so not really) as in other games. get emeralds from the levels, unlock a random building, when all done, move on to the next castle. each castle has to be completed within 40 levels, but there are more emeralds than necessary, and of course levels can be replayed if you missed some.
the 3 difficulty settings offer wildly different experiences. even on relaxed a star is taken away if you need more than one run through the deck. always completable but not necessarily for 3 stars. normal only allows a single deal, as is customary. hard adds a timer to speed up your card-picking decisions, which is like adding a timer to... well, anything, but if there's a game that doesn't need a ticking clock... well, it's every game, but solitaire especially. difficulty settings can be changed anytime and simply 'solving' a level unlocks the next, don't need a single star to continue.
power-ups are bought with gold and come in the usual variety, including wildcards and jokers that can also be found randomly. replaying levels, getting achievements and playing bonus games also award gold, and most power-ups can be upgraded to become more beneficial. it isn't clear from the descriptions, but only wildcards and jokers are consumables, the rest are either passive or a certain number per level.
so far so every solitaire ever, but this one also has 18 other card variants:
- acme unlimited
- ali baba
- bakers dozen
- diplomat
- double line
- freecell two decks
- giant
- klondike by threes
- lady palk
- lanes
- nestor
- raglan
- scarab
- spanish patience
- spider two suits
- thieves of egypt
- trusty twelve
[*]twenty
rules are provided for each, but unfortunately there's no toggle for the timer, you'll always see a ticking clock in the corner, whether you care about high scores or not. undo, hints and autoplay are all available, but another downside is, bonus games all have to be unlocked with stars gotten from regular levels. so it's not like other card collections where you can just play whatever you want.
in fact, most of the collector's edition stuff only unlocks after finishing the main game's 200 levels, including the other 120 levels with 3 more castles, more power-ups and card game variants. 400 stars will let you play the first 12 games, but the next one only unlocks at 610, and the last at 760 stars. a big ask just to play some random variant, not to mention if you 3-star everything, there's nothing to look forward to for a while after level 135. and it's mostly because of how incredibly badly the collector's edition nonsense is handled. can't have any of that stuff unlock before actually finishing the main map (why exactly?), and since you can get 600 stars there, the first bonus game has to cost more than that.
and instead of re-doing the ui to present a coherent and complete experience, they're lazily treating it as 'base game + more of the same hidden behind menus upon menus'. if you click the shop on the bonus map, it brings up the regular shop. want to buy the new power-ups? click 'extras menu' and the shop there, then 'back', then 'extra levels' to get back to the map. fucking ridiculous. clicking the bonus games button on the bonus map brings up the relevant games, so it's also inconsistent. not to mention at that point I should be able to choose from all 18 games, not navigate 10 menus back for the others.
predictably beautiful audiovisual presentation, probably the best music in the series so far. separate volume settings, windowed mode (non-resizable), widescreen toggle, custom cursor, and a bunch of card backs and fronts are available, plus there's an optional tutorial, a music player, wallpapers, concept art/making of, and a strategy guide. bit of an overkill for a game like this and some info is repeated on other pages, but I guess a few tips for the lesser-known variants can't hurt. unfortunately, settings aren't available while playing bonus games, have to go back to the menu to change anything.
aside from the awkward menu navigation, buggy gold display, unresponsive wand power-up and slow victory animations, it's a great card game with tons of content, definitely recommended.
Great little time consuming game, brought in a sale so was quite cheap, main quest could be longer but as its the collectors edition there is various other extra card games (once you complete the main quest). Has quite easy achievements too. Would recommend to anyone who likes solitaire. 7/10
Nice graphics, choice of card backs and/or fronts, plenty of achievements to strive for, range of difficulties available - what more can you want?
Great calm game to play! Very nice music and scenery too.
It's alright. The Complete Edition doubles the game levels!
Great game, some really tough bonus games too.
If you're a solitaire fanatic or just looking to spend some time playing a relaxing game, this is for you.
Judging by the amount of hours my account has spent within this video game, I am absolutely positive my mother is the #1 solitaire demolisher on the face of the earth.
Good game if you don't mind only getting two stars with the occasional 3 stars. Very tough game with many replays to get three stars all the way through.
Excellent Solitaire game. Great game, you also unlock new games and challenges. Like having 2 games in 1. Lots of fun.
The main game is okay. The bonus games are useless. I tried several and every one of the attempts ending with "No moves left." Some times this happened very early in the spread.
I tried the "Hint" feature and discovered it moved cards around unproductively.
I am not completely disappointed as the main game is functional and mostly entertaining. There are a few spreads near the end where I spend more time flipping the deck cards than I care too because only one or two cards are open for use.
I would strongly recommend finding a collection that is playable.
This Collector's Edition is two games in one! After finishing the main game it unlocks a new game, plus more stuff to buy in the store, more backgrounds, etc. So this game is well worth the money.
It took me 28 hours to complete everything, except one of the hard achievements (play ace, king, queen, jack, and 10 all of the same suit and in that order! What are the chances that can happen?!?!?!)
For those of you who already know how to play this type of "solitaire" you can skip this paragraph. For those who are new to it, let me explain a bit how it works. You are given a display of cards facing down with a few cards facing up on top of them, and at the bottom there is your deck and any jokers and bonus abilities you have plus an undo button. You play by clicking on cards that number one up or one down from the card dealt from the deck. For instance, if you have a four, then you can click on a three or a five. You can rack up chains sometimes like: 2,3,4,5,4,5,6. Try to go back and forth, up and down like that. If you do a long enough chain (I think it's 6 cards) you get a bonus. The longer the chain, the bigger the bonus.
For those who have played this type of game before: In this game there are sometimes cards that are iced over and need to be played twice, Ones that have vines all over and you need to uncover an object to remove them in order for those cards to turn over. You earn gold by playing and can use that gold in the store to buy powerful abilities, jokers, more cards in the deck, more undos, randomly gets rid of one card, select a card to get rid of, and more. You can choose what your cards look like! Four different designs for the card backs, and some for the fronts as well. There is a special game arrow pointer you can use instead of the default one.
Bonus games! After playing awhie you will unlock bonus games of different solitaire variations. Once unlocked you can play them anytime.
Beautiful background you can set as wallpaper! The graphics are very nice. And the background music is nice too.
All in all this game is a must buy for fans of this type of solitaire.
Relaxing. 3 modes to play on. Calming regency music. In-game store to buy special cards, etc. with coins you earn. Has that Pandora's Box sound when you place a piece to the background wallpaper, wish I could find that game again.
Only downside I can think of so far in my few hours of having played it is that it's like all the other solitaire games. Someone needs to make an upbeat, exciting solitaire game with different themes to choose from. Like this game but more upbeat and different themes to choose from.
This is by far the best solitaire game I have played. Love the visuals and sound and really keeps me playing.
7.5/10
This is basically identical to the original Jewel Match Solitaire (+1/-1), but with more levels and different solitaire-variant bonus games. Additionally, there is a higher tier for a few of the powers. You can unlock the ability to remove three random or targeted cards per level (rather than two, as in other Suricate Software solitaire games), and can further improve your chances of locating wild cards and jokers on the board (instead of just gaining the base ability to do so).
The level design is still solid, and I still appreciate the inclusion of the wax seals that must be removed to access certain stacks of cards. This is an element that I still haven't seen in any other series of solitaire games.
I didn't like as many of the bonus games as I did in some of the previous titles, although Klondike by Threes is certainly a classic. Acme Unlimited was probably my favorite of the new bonus games, although winning is subject to quite a bit of randomness.
I still wish that Suricate Software could get a bit more creative with the powers offered, but the available abilities were sufficient. The only real annoyances I had with the title were:
1) I didn't like that the bonus content was put in a separate menu - I'd rather it be accessible from the main menu
2) The "Royal Flush" achievement is super lame. I typically try and "perfect" these solitaire games, but that achievement is impossible to intentionally pursue.
Either way, Jewel Match Solitaire is very much like the other four Suricate Software solitaire games. So, I mean - you know what this is.
This is the most challenging of the series. I needed complete some levels, acquire a few upgrades, and go back to get 3 stars on some of the earlier levels. I really enjoy this game, and it plays like the other Jewel Match games in the series. It's the same engine with a different skin and bonus games. That's not a bad thing as I think this is one of the best solitaire series out there.
