really fun and relaxing game
It's a lot of fun, but it gets too hard for me. There's just a certain point that I can't get passed no matter what. I'm probably just playing it wrong, but no amount of pausing to restructure my map helps.
when you get a little into it the game starts hanging on me wich is a bummer cause its a fun game
Simple, elegant, addictive. The simple mechanics allows you to rush to really complex strategies and lost notion of time. Amazing game
really addictive game would recommend to people age 18+ as there are jump scares that are nsfw in this game i dont know why it is not flagged as NSFW
I love the aesthetic and vibe of this game, its so fun and the sounds are so satisfying
Time Killing
i will destroy the world
this game is realy a combo with idle games
Auckland achievement can go mini fuck itself
>I'm rolling on tokyo
>Shinkansen with 3 carts, holy moly
>I'm really chill bc this is my first try in Tokyo map
>Shinkansen bugged.

Other than that. Good game fr
A nice calm casual game to play , could be frustrating if i was more invested but i'm not.... atm my pointer finger got crushed by a motor at work so i can't play Witchfire, so this game will do ,some might say i'm taking it easy .
As you can see, I’ve spent some time with this game. While it heavily relies on RNG, which can be frustrating at times, it’s still a lot of fun. I particularly enjoy the daily challenges—it's perfect for hopping in during a break at work to chill out for a few minutes.
normally i play games to relieve stress. this one makes it worse
Mini Metro is yet another classic game about liberalism. While one might take a surface level look at this game and think "oh, cool, a game about creating sustainable public transit, that's a left-leaning and progressive political idea" it's really quite a complex, more in depth liberal game that requires much more nuanced thinking about liberal politics than you'd actually expect. In the regular course of the game, the gameplay is so simple yet fun and the achievements are so engaging, that you can find yourself (at times of great concentration and focus) starting to embody the form of a city planner dedicated to creating a sustainable public transit system that causes the citizens of San Francisco, Lisbon, New York, or any number of worldwide cities, working to restore their faith in their progressive, pro-public transit governments. There is also a workshop mod of the world map available to download, allowing the player to imagine themselves at the head of the public transit department of a liberal world government type scenario, in which there are no wars to disrupt the train lines or the new world government, which is a true dream of liberalism. [1]
But as one really starts to get into the game, they can start to get a sense of the strategy and the underlying messages littered throughout this absolute bastion of progressive politics of a game. Strategies emerge in which the player realizes the most stable lines are not just big circle loops (yet another liberal/progressive idea of taxing junk food as to fight citizens becoming obese), but in working to combine various types of stations in a line as to make it the most stable. Too many circles or triangles on a line and it's game over! Throw some squares, footballs, stars, and hospitals in those lines. After a few hours of gameplay (and one can really rack up the hours in this game because it's truly an excellent one), the player really starts to understand the underlying liberal themes behind it. It's the perfect game for players to understand the merits of desegregation, tactics of anti-apartheid action, and the strength and importance of diversity in modern day society. Each playthrough is also varied, which requires the player to diversify their strategies as they deal with differing station layouts and weekly rewards. Yet again another great mechanic about diversity from these very talented progressive developers. I highly recommend this game to all fellow liberal and progressive gamers who are looking for a simple strategy/promoter of diversity type game.

Just really chill and fun as heck :)
Cute urban planning sim, great for people who love public transit and want a arcade-style game
Super simple and easy game to play.
Highly recommended for all ages or even to non-gamers alike. A great casual game with no strings attached. Yet it still provides a deep and complex challenge for those who want to master it.
Simplicity and elegantly design. A Mini gem for sure.
It's got strategy to it, but it's still relaxing. If you've got 15-20 minutes to kill, you could do worse than spend it on this game.
Who doesn't like public transport? Mind the gap!
Simple premise but infinite possibilities
I love the game! It's sometimes challenging, and sometimes easy! Recommended for kids.
For people who are looking for a public transit simulator but can't figure out how train signals work
It's a simple indie game and it pretty fun, if you get bored of the regular maps just use workshop, and you basically don't need the tutorial to know it just hop right in.
It's somehow both relaxing and challenging. I love the visuals—clean and simple, yet they really make you think about your strategy. I've played for <40 hours, mostly while enjoying my morning coffee. It's nice with the daily challenges, they keep you hooked.
Very relaxing game. Nice one.
Struggle for hours to make the perfect metro system, and then marvel at the failure of real people to do the same.
Mini Metro is a phenomenal 5/5
On my scale, a 5/5 game is a masterpiece. These are the games that stay with you and invoke the strongest sense of accomplishment, mastery, and creativity. Some of these may change your life, while others just provide a perfect gaming experience. Some of these define their genres and cast shadows everyone else dreams of escaping, while others completely transform the genre entirely or open up a whole new pathway for game development.
Mini Metro is a genre-defining puzzle strategy game. It is just a perfect gaming experience with next to no faults.
First off, it is beautifully designed. Almost no other game captures the essence of what minimalism is supposed to, which is beauty in simplicity. You might be fooled by thinking that Mini Metro has very little going on because there are just shapes, lines, and boxes that move between them. And sure, Mini Metro is a simple game. But just like the aesthetics of minimalism, the game proves that simplicity can be beautiful, even in gameplay. I have never played a puzzle game with such a simple, but amazingly executed presence.
If the game were just visuals, it would be a masterpiece. But they expanded their design philosophy to include their soundtrack. Mini Metro has a soundtrack that plays, but it is really the soundscape of the metro system that is worthy of praise. Essentially, the music evolves as your metro system grows. You start the game with very simple melodies and components, and by the end, you have an anxiety-inducing symphony of pings, chirps, and ripples. Each of these sounds represents a new passenger using your system. Minimalism begets subtle and sophisticated complexity in architecture; so too in Mini Metro.
But I’ve criticized games that are all beauty and little substance in the past (for example, Bad North). It’s not enough for a game to be pretty, it needs to also be fun .
Mini Metro IS fun. It is the most anxiety-inducing relaxing game I have every played. The way the aesthetics blend into the gameplay is a large part of that fun, but the core mechanics are wonderful. You start with three stations and a couple of lines, and it’s up to you to design a system that can transport the most number of people it can without forcing them to wait too long. And the game goes from “how can this possibly ever get hard,” to “holy shit” without you even noticing.
I think the most brilliant element of Mini Metro is that it illuminates the rigidity of established systems. Mini Metro gives you the power to delete all your lines 5 weeks in and completely redesign them in a more efficient way if you so wish. But you’ll find yourself troubled by that prospect. How could you just throw away your metro system and redesign it? And you designed this way for a reason, as a result of “natural” development, so it must be the most efficient way, no? And so you’ll do everything you can to expand the system without wiping the slate clean.
For this reason, Mini Metro really helps illuminate two things: 1) established mass transit systems are likely cursed to follow their pre-existing tracks and layout forever, and 2) that most American mass transit systems are incredibly inefficient (Washington D.C.’s WMATA is probably the closest we get to a true, high-efficiency mass transit system using Mini Metro’s simulation as a guide).
Now, this is a puzzle game, and it can be quite challenging for people to conceptualize how to progress in some of the stages. Here are some tips that will make the game more playable:
1. Double-track your lines. Use WMATA or even the Loop portion of Chicago’s CTA an example of what I’m talking about. For high-frequency downtown corridors, you want to minimize the number of hub stations that require transfers, and you might need more than one line to help clear backlogs. You can run as many lines as you want between the same stations, and you can even set up certain lines to bypass stations by dragging past them. So you can set up local and express trains if necessary (although I have never been able to create a system like this effectively, but that’s just a “my brain” problem).
2. Mini Metro demonstrates why failing to have all lines connect to each other is the worst idea. (*cough cough* MBTA lacking a Red-Blue line transfer station) Your downtown transfer stations are going to bottleneck really fast.
3. If you have an overcrowded station and an underutilized line, move one of those trains right to the outside of the station in the direction of travel you need those passengers to go. The train will magically teleport to that station. Likewise, if you find that passengers on one line travel primarily in one direction, you can alleviate some of the inefficiency here by dragging your trains from their downtown terminus to the outer terminus, thus saving them the return trip and getting a jump on moving more passengers. Takes some micro-managing and is probably a sign of an inefficient system, but it works in an emergency.
My biggest critique is a disappointment: the official base maps omit North America's second-largest metro system: The Mexico City Metro. That is a perfect system for a game like this, and I’m quite sad that the developers had almost no Latin American mass transit systems in the official maps. I’m sure it exists in mods, but there are significantly more random systems included in the official maps than CDMX. I know support for the game is long over, but Mexico City deserves to be in this game’s map list. Hell, I’d buy this if it were DLC (if you do make it a paid DLC, can you make the shapes reflective of the most iconic Aztec designs used to signal the stops; each station in the CDMX Metro has a unique identifier which is Aztec art).
Love this game. I enjoy the normal levels but really like the daily challenge
The game at its base is really good but it bugs out frequently and I have had more crashes than I would care for. Id say skip this title and go for the sequel mini motorways.
Overall Rating: 4.5/5 Stars
Pros:
Minimalist Aesthetic: Mini Metro features a clean and simple design that is both visually appealing and easy to navigate. The minimalist graphics complement the gameplay, allowing players to focus on the challenge of building an efficient subway system.
Strategic Gameplay: The game offers deep strategic elements as players must plan and manage their subway lines to accommodate growing passenger demands. Each decision impacts the overall efficiency of the system, making for engaging and thoughtful gameplay.
Dynamic Challenges: With randomly generated maps and evolving passenger needs, each game is unique. This unpredictability keeps the experience fresh and encourages players to adapt their strategies as they progress.
Relaxing Soundtrack: The soothing soundtrack enhances the gameplay experience, creating a calming atmosphere that contrasts nicely with the strategic challenges. The audio design complements the overall aesthetic of the game.
Intuitive Controls: The controls are straightforward and easy to learn, making it accessible for players of all skill levels. This simplicity allows players to focus on strategy without being overwhelmed by complex mechanics.
Cons:
Limited Depth: While the strategic gameplay is engaging, some players may find the overall depth lacking after multiple playthroughs. Once familiar with the mechanics, the challenge can diminish, leading to a feeling of repetitiveness.
Short Play Sessions: The game is designed for shorter play sessions, which may not appeal to those looking for a more extended gaming experience. Players seeking a deeper narrative or progression might find it lacking in content.
Occasional Frustration: As the game progresses and the subway system becomes more complex, players can encounter frustrating moments when the system becomes overwhelmed. This can lead to abrupt failures that may be disheartening.
No Multiplayer Mode: Mini Metro is strictly a single-player experience, which may disappoint those looking for competitive or cooperative gameplay options with friends.
Recommendation: I highly recommend Mini Metro to fans of puzzle and strategy games. Its minimalist design, strategic depth, and dynamic challenges create a compelling and enjoyable experience. While the limited depth and short play sessions may not appeal to everyone, the game is perfect for those who appreciate quick, engaging gameplay that challenges their problem-solving skills. If you're looking for a relaxing yet thought-provoking game that tests your strategic thinking, Mini Metro is definitely worth playing.
Addictive, fun and frustrating all at the same time.
Every time I fail, I just start a new game.
I'm a little bit addicted to this game. Simple but fun :)
For the planners and the organizers, for the appreciators of public transport and lovers of data structures. Or just want to spread chaos. I highly recommend!
It's simple yet addictive
Sooo nice! A surprisingly addictive game. Well-designed, atmospheric and calming.
easy to learn, super fun concept, especially if youre into civil engineering
NIce builder sim, Great metro design
The game is really great way of spending quality time for PT network enjoyers
Both calming and stressful at the same time, so simple but addictive.
Shut up and take my money!!!

I played mini motorways before playing this one so it definitely feels like a step back.
There are a lot of similarities between the two so it's still an alright game but nowhere as addictive for me than the other one.
My biggest complaint about this one are the controls. You can tell it was made for a touchscreen so it doesn't use the left and right click to help you manage the lines. Can be a pit of a pain late game having to redraw the whole thing.
On the less important side i prefer the little 3d graphics from motorways too, it's prettier to look at.
Update after playing some more ;
I was looking up guides because I kept on losing pretty early in the runs (like bottom/top 50% so very average.)
I found a strategy named the ghost line where you basically Highway your full stations directly to where you need to go and then move the ghost line elsewhere.
It works but it doesn't have the same achievement feeling as building a good city in mini motorways.
Very on the fence about this one.
Fun game, ridiculously simple and captivating. so simple infact it can run on an i3 chromebook with only 8 gigs of ram. 10/10 would recommend (p.s. please let us play mini motorways on linux)
Love this game, so simple, yet so stress inducing! The sound design is also immaculate. 10/10 would recommend, and the game can run on any device.
when they hit you with that one station with an odd shape and it's in the most inconvenient spot ever (it messes up your perfectly designed lines)
I've been playing this game for a week now and am absolutely addicted! Well designed, intuitive gameplay, and the levels are all different enough that I haven't felt it get repetitive yet - even with my 35hrs of gameplay over the last five days. Highly recommend!
Fun game to kill some time without getting over invested. It feels pretty satisfying when you get your system kinda working, only for a new station to open up and you have to rethink everything. The UI is OK but focuses more on aesthetics over utility, and can sometimes respond in wonky ways which can be frustrating. The other frustrating part is that the travel destination patterns of your "passengers" seems to be completely random, so it makes it nearly impossible to get transfer hubs working properly as the distribution of passengers is spread out unrealistically at random. Last thing is the RNG rewards seems to never work in your favor, It would be better for it to just give you all the upgrade options every time and letting you pick the one you want, you'd still have to make a choice. But other than these 3 complaints, its acutally a really fun and satisfying game, pretty to look at to. 8/10
This game brings me joy.
The mechanics of the game forces you to have to make tough decisions; The well designed minimalistic visuals, plus the meditation-y procedural music will put you in the mood for OPTIMIZING SOME PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION like your life depends on it.
Only negative: for now, the instructions are too few. I like finding stuff out by myself, but the game already starts you in the first level, without even telling you what is the loosing condition. This might change with updates, of course.
Really good game - simple premise but remains challenging throughout the game play. Each round takes about 15 minutes to run until you fail by keeping passengers waiting too long. All you have to do is link stations and add trains, carriages and interchanges to your network. But the challenge is in doing that in a manner that keeps your network functioning despite whatever is demanded of you. Its a puzzle game without any hidden secrets, the challenge is obvious and clear and fun.
Cool graphic, relaxing sound. Gameplay sucks as there are some optimization bugs, when carrier just drops all passanger idk why before 1-2 stations to the goal. When you making 30+ achievents for 1k+ scores - it ruins rly hard. When you need new line or new tunnels - you will never get it from first try, rng of weekly gifts ruins hard too. There are ~30 cities but their difference almost always is just visual chenges, so what the point of making so many copy paste?!
