Steam Workshop!

Elegance in Simplicity
Mini Metro is a perfect example of "easy to learn, hard to master." This minimalist strategy simulation challenges you to design and manage subway systems in a growing city. With its clean visuals, intuitive mechanics, and escalating complexity, it provides a highly addictive gameplay loop that keeps you coming back for more.
Pros
✪ Minimalist Design: The game’s aesthetic is inspired by real-world subway maps, offering a clean and visually pleasing interface.
✪ Intuitive Mechanics: Drawing subway lines feels natural and straightforward, making it accessible to players of all skill levels.
✪ Challenging Strategy: Limited resources force tough decisions, balancing efficiency, coverage, and adaptability.
✪ Replayability: Randomly generated cities and multiple modes keep the game fresh and engaging.
✪ Sound Design: A calming and reactive soundtrack adds to the immersive experience, subtly shifting with your gameplay.
Cons
✪ Difficulty Spike: As cities grow, the pressure can become overwhelming, and it may feel punishing for some players.
✪ Lack of Depth: While its simplicity is its charm, it might leave those craving deeper simulation mechanics wanting more.
My Experience
I loved how Mini Metro blended relaxing and intense gameplay moments. At first, the meditative music and smooth interface lulled me into a calm rhythm, but as stations multiplied, every decision began to feel like a high-stakes puzzle. The challenge was both rewarding and addictive, even when a sudden difficulty spike threw my system into chaos.
Rating: 8/10
While it’s an elegant and addictive game, the simplicity and difficulty spikes might not appeal to everyone. Despite this, Mini Metro remains a must-have for fans of strategy and simulation games, delivering a uniquely engaging experience in short or long play sessions.
Easy to learn, more of a challenge to master. Very relaxing and the perfect game for when you need to fiddle with something while listening to podcasts or youtube documentaries.
very fun strategy gaem :)
Mini Metro is a simple optimization problem which delights on the outset, but then wears its welcome thin the deeper you go into the mechanics. As this is a game with nearly no audio or visual flair, the mechanics make or break your experience, and unfortunately they're more tedious and random than skillful, which in the end drags the game all the way down.
The core concept is rock solid: make an optimal metro system by connecting stations with lines such that the through traffic doesn't overflow. If too many passengers are stuck at any given node, you lose. There is a simple elegance to the design, and the learning process is snappy; the first 10 or so hours are a blast to play as you find optimal strategies. There are strokes of game design brilliance in here too: I love how tunnels give you a terrain obstacle to optimize around (wouldn't have hated more of these), especially in how they interact with loops; either you build a suboptimal line using less tunnels or you loop your system, but use more tunnels. There are other nuances I can praise, but all in all, you will be shocked at how this little game hooks you. Unsurprisingly, the next step is to 100% the game, which is where everything falls apart.
I got fairly far in that process, and along the way I realized just how tedious what I was doing was. I stopped having fun, mostly because the game had devolved to something that is far away from what I originally fell in love with. Ghost lines are the worst offender; a completely and utterly broken mechanic that is not just necessary but also remarkably boring. In essence, if you pause, create a line, then delete the line, it will still go to its destination (like a ghost) and then you can redraw that line elsewhere and it's like 2 trains are running for the price of one. You can win the entire game by spamming this strategy .... just pausing and unpausing over and over and over to optimally place lines ad nauseum. I've heard others say that it feels like cheating, and I can't help but agree. It's that broken, and goes completely counter to the game's core design.
If that wasn't bad enough, so much of the game is random. If a bunch of the same shape randomly spawns in the same corner of the screen, your chances of winning plummet. Also, upgrade screens are imbalanced; carriages are far and away the best upgrade (to the point that if you don't pick them, you're missplaying terribly most of the time), so if you don't get them (and many times you won't), you are far behind where you otherwise would be. The cherry on top of this RNG sundae is that there are some achievements which are neigh unbeatable without good RNG: examples include when you don't get lines in maps which limit the number of trains you can have per line, or even worse (and my least favorite archetype), maps which say you can only have 8 stations per line BUT STATIONS CAN SPAWN ON YOUR LINES meaning you can randomly lose at any time.
So I mean, yeah, I could grind the remaining achievements. But...why? Why pause and unpause over and over again, drawing ghost line after ghost line to suffer through these final stages? It's not hard exactly, but I would have to trudge through tons of tedium and RNG, and I don't know, my life and time is too valuable for that.
It's a cute indie game with a rock solid premise, and nerds out there like me will be hooked by that concept immediately. Optimizing is fun, and that learning process is rewarding. It's a shame that the end state of that learning is so dreadfully boring.
Awesome game, simple and fun!
I like public transit and city planning, so this game is perfect for me. It is a simple game, try to move people to their destinations without too much waiting. The graphics are very minimal. The game can actually be hard even though the premise is simple and should give many hours of game play.
Really good game i like mini motorway but i think i might like this one more its far more difficult but i think i like this game more maybe so if you like one you will probably like the other
Fun little game. Perfect to play on laptop on a train.
Mini Metro is a game that scratches such a deep itch for building networks efficiently in a light weight style, if you are intimidated by a game like Satisfactory or Factorio but want to build a web of an efficient system give Mini Metro a try.
Minimalist puzzle game that's very approachable and easy to pick up for a quick playthrough. Provides a satisfying challenge through maintenance and strategy. Daily challenges are also fun to participate in for leadership scores. Definitely a favorite!
Mini Metro, a fun and hard(er than it seems!) strategy game where you make a metro system for cities. As stations open, you need to manage lines and the game ends when stations overcrowd. It is a great game.
move shapes, collect dopamine! great balance of chill and challenging
highly enjoyable and maybe addictive
Mini Metro plays very bad on the steam deck despite being "verified" because you have to use the touch screen which makes it very clunky and frustrating to play when you need to select lines or place carts I've lost a lot - i mean a lot - of time trying to select the intended line or deploy a cart while under pressure It's very unoptimized on the steam deck
to jest to całe warszawskie metro?!?!?
Wast of my money and is not a fun game.
Yes, i like this game a lot as well as the sequel
puzzle / strategy game with resource management and time pressure, very fun, very difficult
Mini metro is an experience that makes you stressed and care about geometrys commutes while making you curse whatever shape ruins the perfect network you had made over the last 20mins
fuck square people
The game is not for me but i bought it because i liked mini motorways but it was not the same so try it but please if you don't like it refund as soon as you think that so you don't make the same mistake.
good
Great little game!
I've gotten all achievements and still want to play.
Says it all!
Sick of this game and it's obsession with circle stations
Fun chill game
Tranquility, music and balance
Its complicated but rewarding
very relaxing
Neat lines on the map
Very satisfying game
I have adhd and i love this
really fun and relaxing game
It's a lot of fun, but it gets too hard for me. There's just a certain point that I can't get passed no matter what. I'm probably just playing it wrong, but no amount of pausing to restructure my map helps.
when you get a little into it the game starts hanging on me wich is a bummer cause its a fun game
Simple, elegant, addictive. The simple mechanics allows you to rush to really complex strategies and lost notion of time. Amazing game
really addictive game would recommend to people age 18+ as there are jump scares that are nsfw in this game i dont know why it is not flagged as NSFW
I like trains
I love the aesthetic and vibe of this game, its so fun and the sounds are so satisfying

>I'm really chill bc this is my first try in Tokyo map
>Shinkansen bugged.
>F*ck
>Lost it
> I'm a big mad baby rn.
Other than that. Good game fr
A nice calm casual game to play , could be frustrating if i was more invested but i'm not.... atm my pointer finger got crushed by a motor at work so i can't play Witchfire, so this game will do ,some might say i'm taking it easy .
As you can see, I’ve spent some time with this game. While it heavily relies on RNG, which can be frustrating at times, it’s still a lot of fun. I particularly enjoy the daily challenges—it's perfect for hopping in during a break at work to chill out for a few minutes.
normally i play games to relieve stress. this one makes it worse
Mini Metro is yet another classic game about liberalism. While one might take a surface level look at this game and think "oh, cool, a game about creating sustainable public transit, that's a left-leaning and progressive political idea" it's really quite a complex, more in depth liberal game that requires much more nuanced thinking about liberal politics than you'd actually expect. In the regular course of the game, the gameplay is so simple yet fun and the achievements are so engaging, that you can find yourself (at times of great concentration and focus) starting to embody the form of a city planner dedicated to creating a sustainable public transit system that causes the citizens of San Francisco, Lisbon, New York, or any number of worldwide cities, working to restore their faith in their progressive, pro-public transit governments. There is also a workshop mod of the world map available to download, allowing the player to imagine themselves at the head of the public transit department of a liberal world government type scenario, in which there are no wars to disrupt the train lines or the new world government, which is a true dream of liberalism. [1]
But as one really starts to get into the game, they can start to get a sense of the strategy and the underlying messages littered throughout this absolute bastion of progressive politics of a game. Strategies emerge in which the player realizes the most stable lines are not just big circle loops (yet another liberal/progressive idea of taxing junk food as to fight citizens becoming obese), but in working to combine various types of stations in a line as to make it the most stable. Too many circles or triangles on a line and it's game over! Throw some squares, footballs, stars, and hospitals in those lines. After a few hours of gameplay (and one can really rack up the hours in this game because it's truly an excellent one), the player really starts to understand the underlying liberal themes behind it. It's the perfect game for players to understand the merits of desegregation, tactics of anti-apartheid action, and the strength and importance of diversity in modern day society. Each playthrough is also varied, which requires the player to diversify their strategies as they deal with differing station layouts and weekly rewards. Yet again another great mechanic about diversity from these very talented progressive developers. I highly recommend this game to all fellow liberal and progressive gamers who are looking for a simple strategy/promoter of diversity type game.

Just really chill and fun as heck :)
Cute urban planning sim, great for people who love public transit and want a arcade-style game
