its not as enjoyable as mini motorways but it scratches a similar itch
Good game that require logic. I think it is little bit harder than Mini Motorways. Overall 9/10
This game drew me in with it's unique twist on time and "goods" management. I like trying to find new and interesting ways to get the people where they need to be. The different modes and the challenges also bring a new way to play each time. I also like trying to compete in the daily challenges though I never seem to do that well :)

Simple but so good. Its very addicting lol and theres tons of maps and modes to try out. Def worth it.
I bought this game as a bundle for Mini Motorways and Mini Metro. After playing both, I can say that Mini Motorways is better. Mini Metro just doesnt provide the complexity as Mini Motorways, and even if you like simple games, I feel like Mini Motorways just has more content. Im not saying Mini Metro is the worst game iv ever played, but buying it's brother, Mini Motorways, is better.
I don't understand how people enjoy this game. I would describe it as a stress inducing, horror game that looks like a fun, casual logistic puzzler.
As soon as you start to solve the problem some new problem arises, a new station pops up, additional shapes need to be moved. Add limited resources and limited time and it feels very frustrating.
I guess if you like working under time stress, while getting arbitrarily sabotaged and knowing that failure is the only outcome, then this game is for you, but I did not like it at all.
Addictive, attractive, time-killing, extemely simple and interesting - that's all about this masterpiece
Mini Metro is simple in design but complex in execution. The player is tasked with creating and managing subway systems in different cities of the world. The game is minimalist in nature, with clean and flat visuals. Stations are represented with geometric shapes and players connect them with lines that the trains will automatically travel through. The maps, apart from iconic geography of each specific city (like the locations of waterways), are procedurally generated, offering near limitless replayability. The game becomes increasingly challenging as the metro network expands, and players need to be quick to connect the new stations that pop up, while managing limited resources like tunnels and amount of trains on a line. The player needs to be constantly aware of overcrowding at stations and be as efficient as possible to maintain the ever growing network. Overall this game has a great balance of chill gameplay and strategic challenge.
The most relaxing stressful game ever. Pretty easy to pick up, but the achievements are at just the right difficulty to keep things interesting. Content doesn't differ hugely between levels - different colourways, water generation, spawn patterns, and one or two other minor strategic difficulties - but still very enjoyable. Will probably still be playing this when I die. Super worth it for the price, especially when on sale.
Complain about real city metro designs,
Start playing Mini Metro,
Understand difficulty of designing subway maps,
Stop Complaining about real city metro designs.
I just wanna draw perfect metro lines, but those triangles keep getting in the way, man.
This and their other game mini motorways is a delightful soothing experience. Can relax you right to sleep. Be aware!
Surprisingly addictive. Seems fairly simple at first but there is definitely strategy to the game.
felt interested after playing London online, addicted after buying it.
Challengeable but enjoy it so much!
BTW rubbish HK MTR network
用港鐵個套network起,死硬
Unreasonable challenges and action tricks instead of strategy.
Mini Metro is a minimalist puzzle/strategy game developed by Dinosaur Polo Club, and it offers a fascinating, stress-inducing experience that combines planning, design, and real-time problem-solving. Released initially in 2015, Mini Metro has garnered a loyal fanbase due to its simple mechanics, soothing visuals, and deep strategic gameplay. Despite its minimalist presentation, the game becomes an increasingly complex challenge as you try to build the most efficient subway system in various cities worldwide.
In Mini Metro, players are tasked with designing and managing the subway system of a growing city. Each city map has a set number of stations that need to be connected by subway lines. The key is to balance your network’s capacity while adapting to the increasing demands of the stations as more passengers appear and need to be transported.
What makes Mini Metro stand out is its simplicity. The game offers a clean, geometric design with a color-coded system for different stations and lines. However, the core challenge is managing resources—like the number of trains, tunnels, and carriages you have—and making sure that the lines you draw can handle the traffic.
The difficulty curve in Mini Metro is well-balanced, starting slow to give you time to grasp the mechanics but quickly ramping up as the city grows more complex. At its peak, the game can be tense and challenging, requiring sharp planning and efficient use of resources to avoid congestion and system failures.
Mini Metro is an excellent example of how simple design can lead to deeply engaging gameplay. It’s intuitive, relaxing yet challenging, and rewarding for those who enjoy planning and managing systems. While the core mechanics are easy to understand, the game’s complexity grows as the city expands, making it a title you can return to again and again without getting bored. If you’re a fan of puzzle games or enjoy strategy with a relaxed pace, Mini Metro is a must-play.
This game is fun, but be warned you will end 99% of your play sessions literally defeated. It's like Pac Man in that way.
TL;DR: the game is fun, but the content in the game is really not worth 8 euros. im not afraid of saying it is falsely advertised as a "strategic game." there is zero progression, only high score. there is no goal or victory, hell the game is even designed to make you fail. all of that combined with the simplicity is ruining the concept.
i really regret playing this game for 8 hours before realizing how empty it is, because if i did have less than 2 hours on it, i totally would refund it. i was expecting a lot more from this game for the price it has. you can get games with a ton more content for around the same price. each round has like the same principle and lasts for around 10 minutes. then you fail, and do the same thing over and over again.
to explain it a little better, the game is advertised as something where you have to strategically plan out metro lines for a city. i was expecting something among the lines of cities skylines, but focused purely on traffic - nope. the game has more simplicity than youre thinking.
you start your round with 3 metro stations and over the course of time, the map zooms out very slowly so there would be more space for you. every few seconds a new metro station appears randomly somewhere on the map. it isnt a rare occasion that the metro station placements are very unfortunate, and literally do not allow you for an efficient connection. there is absolutely nothing strategic about this. you have to be lucky to have a nice round. oh and when you arent lucky? your stations get overcrowded, and that fails the game. sometimes you have 20 metro stations right next to eachother with another metro station appearing randomly far away across the whole ******* map.
thats all there is to it. there isnt even a currency. you just get to upgrade your lines once per in-game week (id estimate it to be like two minutes? cant bother measuring it) but even with these upgrades you wont be able to keep up with the growing demands that i swear are straight up designed to make you fail. i was doing so well on this one map, and all of a sudden when reaching a score of around 2600, all of the stations just completely flooded with passengers. i had like 60 stations at that point, and when i say all of them, i mean ALL of them.
another important element is bridges/tunnels. i probably dont need to explain that you use them for your metro to cross rivers and other bodies of water. you have a limited amount of tunnels, and occasionally youre able to upgrade them from the random selection of upgrades that you get once per week like i mentioned earlier. so when theres a map where you need to cross 5 rivers, and you only have 3 bridges, what the **** are you actually supposed to do????
it really is a shame, i am a fan of the concept, but the simplicity and extensive use of randomness is completely ruining this game. i would love to see something like this made into an ACTUAL strategy game. maybe ill find it one day, who knows.
Relaxing game that ever so slightly challenges you to do better. Essentially an optimisation game but instead of the typical resources to build and maintain, you maintain train networks.
Only slight annoyance I have with the game is that sometimes the levels can be overly difficult with too many of the same nodes, or that the AI would make passengers move in non-optimal directions
AI is awful, the game's core purpose was ruined pretty hard from when i actually got past 1,000 passengers in the base map. After that, the game feels easily farmable, luck based and buggy at times. My last game had a bad spawn (emphasises luck) and after i had to use 2/3 starting tunnels to make my line work to start with, around 100 passengers in i was hit by a station which just did not want to even LET PASSENGERS BOARD. Game ended of course. I'm never buying another game from this developer again if this one is that bad.
Should i be embarrassed to have already spent 9 hours failing to satisfy Metro users ? Oh, you are a Metro user? I myself am a formerly unhappy Metro user. Huh? No. Montreal Metro.
人衆シュミレーション系では一番好き
どう効率よく線路を引くか、臨時列車を出すか、どこまで人を放置するか 全てを考えなきゃいけない
でも時間停止もできるから時間が無限に解ける
Unfortunately, it's addictive as hell. Don't buy it if you don't wanna enter a daily challenge everyday.
I vow a cult to this gamn
edit I tested an extreme challenge and I underestimaeted the consequence of permanent actions.... so.... uh....... time got me
Elegance in Simplicity
Mini Metro is a perfect example of "easy to learn, hard to master." This minimalist strategy simulation challenges you to design and manage subway systems in a growing city. With its clean visuals, intuitive mechanics, and escalating complexity, it provides a highly addictive gameplay loop that keeps you coming back for more.
Pros
✪ Minimalist Design: The game’s aesthetic is inspired by real-world subway maps, offering a clean and visually pleasing interface.
✪ Intuitive Mechanics: Drawing subway lines feels natural and straightforward, making it accessible to players of all skill levels.
✪ Challenging Strategy: Limited resources force tough decisions, balancing efficiency, coverage, and adaptability.
✪ Replayability: Randomly generated cities and multiple modes keep the game fresh and engaging.
✪ Sound Design: A calming and reactive soundtrack adds to the immersive experience, subtly shifting with your gameplay.
Cons
✪ Difficulty Spike: As cities grow, the pressure can become overwhelming, and it may feel punishing for some players.
✪ Lack of Depth: While its simplicity is its charm, it might leave those craving deeper simulation mechanics wanting more.
My Experience
I loved how Mini Metro blended relaxing and intense gameplay moments. At first, the meditative music and smooth interface lulled me into a calm rhythm, but as stations multiplied, every decision began to feel like a high-stakes puzzle. The challenge was both rewarding and addictive, even when a sudden difficulty spike threw my system into chaos.
Rating: 8/10
While it’s an elegant and addictive game, the simplicity and difficulty spikes might not appeal to everyone. Despite this, Mini Metro remains a must-have for fans of strategy and simulation games, delivering a uniquely engaging experience in short or long play sessions.
Easy to learn, more of a challenge to master. Very relaxing and the perfect game for when you need to fiddle with something while listening to podcasts or youtube documentaries.
very fun strategy gaem :)
Mini Metro is a simple optimization problem which delights on the outset, but then wears its welcome thin the deeper you go into the mechanics. As this is a game with nearly no audio or visual flair, the mechanics make or break your experience, and unfortunately they're more tedious and random than skillful, which in the end drags the game all the way down.
The core concept is rock solid: make an optimal metro system by connecting stations with lines such that the through traffic doesn't overflow. If too many passengers are stuck at any given node, you lose. There is a simple elegance to the design, and the learning process is snappy; the first 10 or so hours are a blast to play as you find optimal strategies. There are strokes of game design brilliance in here too: I love how tunnels give you a terrain obstacle to optimize around (wouldn't have hated more of these), especially in how they interact with loops; either you build a suboptimal line using less tunnels or you loop your system, but use more tunnels. There are other nuances I can praise, but all in all, you will be shocked at how this little game hooks you. Unsurprisingly, the next step is to 100% the game, which is where everything falls apart.
I got fairly far in that process, and along the way I realized just how tedious what I was doing was. I stopped having fun, mostly because the game had devolved to something that is far away from what I originally fell in love with. Ghost lines are the worst offender; a completely and utterly broken mechanic that is not just necessary but also remarkably boring. In essence, if you pause, create a line, then delete the line, it will still go to its destination (like a ghost) and then you can redraw that line elsewhere and it's like 2 trains are running for the price of one. You can win the entire game by spamming this strategy .... just pausing and unpausing over and over and over to optimally place lines ad nauseum. I've heard others say that it feels like cheating, and I can't help but agree. It's that broken, and goes completely counter to the game's core design.
If that wasn't bad enough, so much of the game is random. If a bunch of the same shape randomly spawns in the same corner of the screen, your chances of winning plummet. Also, upgrade screens are imbalanced; carriages are far and away the best upgrade (to the point that if you don't pick them, you're missplaying terribly most of the time), so if you don't get them (and many times you won't), you are far behind where you otherwise would be. The cherry on top of this RNG sundae is that there are some achievements which are neigh unbeatable without good RNG: examples include when you don't get lines in maps which limit the number of trains you can have per line, or even worse (and my least favorite archetype), maps which say you can only have 8 stations per line BUT STATIONS CAN SPAWN ON YOUR LINES meaning you can randomly lose at any time.
So I mean, yeah, I could grind the remaining achievements. But...why? Why pause and unpause over and over again, drawing ghost line after ghost line to suffer through these final stages? It's not hard exactly, but I would have to trudge through tons of tedium and RNG, and I don't know, my life and time is too valuable for that.
It's a cute indie game with a rock solid premise, and nerds out there like me will be hooked by that concept immediately. Optimizing is fun, and that learning process is rewarding. It's a shame that the end state of that learning is so dreadfully boring.
Awesome game, simple and fun!
I like public transit and city planning, so this game is perfect for me. It is a simple game, try to move people to their destinations without too much waiting. The graphics are very minimal. The game can actually be hard even though the premise is simple and should give many hours of game play.
Really good game i like mini motorway but i think i might like this one more its far more difficult but i think i like this game more maybe so if you like one you will probably like the other
Fun little game. Perfect to play on laptop on a train.
Mini Metro is a game that scratches such a deep itch for building networks efficiently in a light weight style, if you are intimidated by a game like Satisfactory or Factorio but want to build a web of an efficient system give Mini Metro a try.
Minimalist puzzle game that's very approachable and easy to pick up for a quick playthrough. Provides a satisfying challenge through maintenance and strategy. Daily challenges are also fun to participate in for leadership scores. Definitely a favorite!
Mini Metro, a fun and hard(er than it seems!) strategy game where you make a metro system for cities. As stations open, you need to manage lines and the game ends when stations overcrowd. It is a great game.
move shapes, collect dopamine! great balance of chill and challenging
highly enjoyable and maybe addictive
Mini Metro plays very bad on the steam deck despite being "verified" because you have to use the touch screen which makes it very clunky and frustrating to play when you need to select lines or place carts I've lost a lot - i mean a lot - of time trying to select the intended line or deploy a cart while under pressure It's very unoptimized on the steam deck
to jest to całe warszawskie metro?!?!?
Wast of my money and is not a fun game.
Yes, i like this game a lot as well as the sequel
puzzle / strategy game with resource management and time pressure, very fun, very difficult
Mini metro is an experience that makes you stressed and care about geometrys commutes while making you curse whatever shape ruins the perfect network you had made over the last 20mins
fuck square people
The game is not for me but i bought it because i liked mini motorways but it was not the same so try it but please if you don't like it refund as soon as you think that so you don't make the same mistake.
good
Great little game!
I've gotten all achievements and still want to play.
Says it all!
Sick of this game and it's obsession with circle stations
