on the one hand its a fun game. on the other hand its maybe a bit pricy for basilly a meme game. get it when its on a good sale. just don't get it on full price.

It doesnt matter how hard you try, youll lose to the bugs. especially on multiplayer. multiplayer hardly works

if you dont know how to get mods watch a youtube stort about it but i change my mind and the game is good but devs can we have updates also why is my version from 2023.

multiplayer is shitty but other than that its really good

Very odd, crazy, fun game. Not many people know about this game but more people should. This was one of the reasons I got Steam. Fun to play while listening to music. There's no end in the end, keep on trying though, you make it at some point in time. Make more people know!

This game is so fun, but the optimization is ass, the servers are ass, the game play is so buggy "which is kinda funny ngl". istg the FREE roblox version has better optimization and has less bugs than this bs.

As much as I want to recommend this game, I'll have to give it a tumbs down. The game is funny in the first half hour, but then some random game breaker bug happens. Furthermore, the game performance is so compromised that doing simple things is a pain in the ass. I really want this game to get better, because it has potential, however in this state, I think that buying another funny game is more worth the money and time

I don't usually leave a review but in this case...
I have 267 hours of play time while i have waited and waited for an update
that will never come (it gets easier once you accept that).
This game is dead. No seriously. There's been no updates in almost 2 years to the game other
than a beta branch that showcases...Nothing??
This has become nothing more than a blatant crash grab How I wish steam would allow for
refunds once this happens.

This game is very fun, I like this game a lot because it's ,open world, the controls are very easy to learn, and overall just fun.

Best game I have played in a long time almost as long as the drive itself I have made many memories while playing this game I suggest this game to many others who don`t touch grass such as myself.

Game has been in EA for years, and the last "update" was 21 months ago according to EA info box. I wasted way too much time in this game expecting something more.

Very clunky controls and buggy. If you're not the kind of person to get "fun" out of glitchy bugs, stay away from it. Nothing is explained.

I mean I guess. fun game but now I can't start the car without it showing like 3 red lights.

Thanks now with this game I can fully understand Hungarian, have the dream to eat my own feces whitout severe consequences and making my pc spin his fan faster than the RMBK-1000's turbine while I pray that servers won't turn into a black hole when I try to spawn a damn chiwawa named Jimmy.

This game is worth it if u want to be stupid like me if it’s 3 bucks yes it can be in my library but will i play it on a daily basis? No never. I have a pretty good rig but the game’s optimization is worse than CS’s anticheat. Like really.. multiplayer COULD be really really fun but the driving part for the other people is not like driving its more like teleproting. Host’s pov is fine but the others.. not so great. Look it up i’m sure there are plenty of examples on the internet. To install mods you have to give out your phone number? No thanks dont want “windows support” calling me. Literally there are so many bugs in this game i really dont know where to start. And the list wont stop. First glance: HELL YEAH! After 2 hrs: “uninstall”

This game is a time waster you will forget about the time if you don’t set an alarm it’s that addicting. This game is so good each kilometer you drive a new area shows up for you to explore get items for your vehicle build vehicles and more. Cargo ships out in the desert are a huge hit for oil, gas, diesel, and other liquids definitely 100% would recommend this game to my friends

Game is very empty, cool ambiance but feels like vaporware, never quite find the things you might hope for. Maybe once it's closer to finished it will be different.

Started The Long Drive thinking it was just a chill road trip across an endless desert. Ten minutes later, my car broke down. Then I found out I had no gas. Had to walk for miles in the heat while cursing the fact that I didn’t check the fuel gauge.

When I finally found gas, I got into my car, only to immediately crash into a rock. My car flipped, I rolled it back upright, and somehow managed to lose my headlights.

I do really enjoy this game if it isn't obvious from the hours I spent on it, but I cannot in good conscience say that this game is actually good. It's definitely a game with potential to be great, but unfortunately the developers of this game are completely and utterly incompetent to realize it.

For one, the game has little to no optimization, considering how it looks it should be running smooth as hell on my 7900 XT, but it runs like absolute shit, I get about 40-60 in 4k which is ridiculous. Yes the game is in early access and it's to be expected that the game won't be perfect, but for an early access title, it's getting little to no actual new content. The current patch is from 2023 and since then we got a "beta" of the newest update which showcases the all new world generation that they use as an excuse why it's been taking so long but this "new world gen" is literally the exact same, the only thing they changed is that now instead of one singular road, we now have one singular road and some branching roads that lead to dead ends. the world still looks the exact same, no new locations or biomes or anything and the road itself is actually worse than it was before, with sharp nonsensical turns and others bugs. It's been 6 years since the game went in to early access and it shows no signs of ever leaving it and if it does leave, it won't be in any better state than it is now.

The developers have absolutely no excuse for this, they sold tons of copies of the game yet instead of hiring professionals to speed up the work and add content to the game, they are pretending to be hard at work while milking this game for what it's worth while doing the absolute bare minimum.

a very unique car survival, pretty chill until you meet those zombies/drunk mfs. I wish their was more to the scenery, tho I love putting custom music while I drive. 8

Very good game with lots of freedom. If you dont want doors, you can leave them behind. If you want to swap engines, then by all means, swap engines. anything you want to do you can so long as its in the game. The modding community is also very good and has lots of great ideas.

Very awesome game. I like how janky and fun it is but the sad part is that it's not optimized for older DDR3 systems like mine. I've tested various DDR3 and DDR4 systems and the game of course runs with much higher FPS on the DDR4 systems. And that's the biggest reason why for me this games multiplayer is unplayable.

Otherwise I hope the game gets some long needed updates and fixes.

Quite fun but not as meditative as Desert Bus, as there are quite a lot of things to keep in mind (fuel, food, drink, self defense). One thing that bugs me is that the engine sounds diminish very quickly, so you can't really hear your engine at all in the bus.

An incredibly janky but weirdly fascinating and absorbing mixture of physics sandbox, vehicle sim and survival game where the only goal is "keep travelling along the road" all the while surrounded by an eerie, empty landscape with the occasional piece of lonely evidence of civilisation, now given over to zombies and gigantic killer rabbits. Drive, loot roadside buildings, avoid the bunnies, eat Hungarian sausages and crusty bread, even p**s and s**t. An odd and atmospheric way to pass the time.

Drive car far. Drive car fast. Drive car slow. How far will it go? Only you will know.... 10/10

This is actually quite fun once you get the hang of it. It is buggy, but its worth a try. I find it runs best with the mirrors turned off, as well as the fog, cloud shadows, and the heat wave. Also I capped it at 60 fps. My wife and I play it together and we enjoy it. The games physics actually work well. I have had many laughs just driving around and playing with the physics. The tire sizes, weight, and the placement of items all seem to have an effect towards the physics and how the vehicles handle. Worth it.

I had a blast playing it for the first time. Clutch-gearing is also fine if you have extra button on mouse or try something else with left-cntrl.
I also had to search how to defend my self since I cannot punch. It was hilarious killing the enemies with my detached car door and flinging it around while holding it. My only suggestion atm is to add names on items because some items just shows numbers likr 12 or 100 and it doesn't explain what it does. The controls are interesting but sometimes it's hard break boxes by moving them(pushing the boxes with my body) or hit them while holding a metal bar or other objects.
Most importantly The car parts are intriguing and not too complicated, the wiki was useful on figuring out what engines run on gas or diesel or how to run a car based on the condition, like figuring out why the car is not starting because the engine was filled with water or something. It was fun solving it and finally igniting the engine and hear it work. Overall it's a fun game on first try.

Funny for a while with the right group but not worth the price point. I played with a friend for 2 hours and I feel like I've already experienced everything this game has to offer.

Amazing game to play with friends. Only problem is when playing with friends the game starts breaking for others. fix the multiplayer and it will be better.

like driving without rules? like crashing without dying? like wasting time and being entertained with the bare basics? then this is THE game for you, The long drive, sometimes it scares the shit out of you, and you can even shit in the game

game is very fun i like the part where you get to dive the car or truck or bike and you get to meet your mom at the end so i rode her to very fun game 10/10

A very interesting and unique Idea for a game but it just needs enough attention and It will be one of the best survival games

this game is calm in peacefull mode and you can play this for hours but its very good with mods aswell
