About the Game
This is a road trip game in an almost infinite random generated desert. The focus is on freedom, driving, exploration and immersion. It has minimal car maintenance and survival elements.Infinite Desert, Freedom and Driving:
There are no invisible walls or unable to jump over small fences, or blinking red "wrong direction" signs on the hud. The car won't need 10-20 liter fuel over just only a few hundred meters, with a full tank, you could go approximately 500 kilometers. If you see a distant big mountain, you can go there and if you are capable, you can climb it. If you don't like where the mirrors are facing you can adjust them however you want or throw them away while driving at full speed. If you want to lean out of the car, or closer to the radio or near anything, you can.

A+ Rated Game from those from Velociti Entertainment. Pretty fun gameplay. Just wish Multiplayer wasn't bad. And after the latest update MP wasn't there.
This game is jank in it's purest form. It is also, some of the hardest I've laughed while driving on a (mostly) straight road with a friend in my ear telling me about how fucked up our car is because our radiator is filled with piss, alcohol and oil.
its fun and relaxing wish there was more stops closer together but its fun fixing cars
started game in multiplayer
random joins
spawn revolver and shoots me then leaves
my mate joins
forgot to set to private
we start going 160 down the road
random joins
he spawns in the engine causing our car to be launched miles above the earth
we both die
spawn back in
car lands on me and I die again
10/10 would bug out again
If you like crazy games where you run over mutant rabbits and eat your own poop, this game is for you.
Just realized I've been driving for like 4 hours. Hit KM 50 on my odometer, Chill road vibes only.
This game is a work of art to those who find the abstract and weird beautiful.
"The Long Drive" isn't just a game; it's an oddly meditative journey through a desolate, endless desert where survival and resourcefulness are the only companions you can rely on. From the moment you start up your clunky, unreliable car, you're plunged into an open world where each mile feels like a test of endurance and ingenuity.
This game’s world is as stark as it is lonely. The vast, barren landscapes you drive through aren't mere set pieces; they embody the solitude of an unending road, dotted with strange abandoned structures and the occasional oddity. Each stop along the way, from decrepit gas stations to eerie radio towers, holds both curiosity and dread. With no map to guide you, every mile feels like an achievement, and every landmark like a rare oasis in an unforgiving desert.
What truly sets The Long Drive apart is its commitment to survival in a mundane, eerily realistic setting. Here, you’re not rescuing hostages or hunting monsters; you’re scavenging fuel, fixing breakdowns, and keeping a close eye on the little details like engine temperature and oil levels. The game turns basic car maintenance into high-stakes survival, as every malfunction could leave you stranded in the middle of nowhere. The simplicity is immersive: every tool you pick up, every part you tinker with, feels essential to your journey’s fragile continuity.
Adding to this unique experience is the car itself, an unpredictable companion on your journey. In The Long Drive, your vehicle is more than a means of transportation; it’s a character in its own right. Every shudder of the engine, every rattle of loose parts, is a reminder of just how precarious this trip really is. Its breakdowns and quirks keep you constantly engaged, turning each drive into a delicate balance of control and adaptation. You’re never truly safe, even when cruising down a straight stretch of highway.
The game’s quiet eeriness is heightened by its sparse audio cues—the sound of your engine, the hum of the desert wind, the odd, unsettling radio transmission. The absence of any guiding music or plotline lets you fully sink into the bleak, isolated atmosphere, where the vastness of the desert feels both peaceful and oppressive. The loneliness is haunting, yet oddly comforting, making the moments of discovery and survival all the more rewarding.
In The Long Drive, every encounter with the world feels like a small victory. Spotting a building on the horizon is cause for excitement, and finding a stash of fuel or spare parts can turn a bleak stretch of road into a lifeline. The game thrives on this minimalism, crafting an experience that is as much about the journey as it is about the struggle to keep going.
Ultimately, The Long Drive isn’t about winning or losing—it’s about the experience of solitude, the simple satisfaction of survival, and the quiet thrill of pressing forward against all odds. In a landscape of modern games that often overwhelm with plot and objectives, *The Long Drive* stands out as a refreshingly barebones, introspective adventure. So fuel up, turn on the radio, and prepare yourself for a journey where every mile is a story, every stop is a lifeline, and survival is the only reward.
I don't have a good reason but I feel very uncomfortable whenever I play this game. It's not a fault of the game itself but the landscape being so surreal and empty makes me feel like I'm one turn away from seeing something truly terrifying. Genesz is updating it a lot more frequently at the time of writing and if you have interest in games like My Summer Car I'd easily recommend The Long Drive
it's a fun game you can drive you can eat BECONS killing for the motherland with a ak47 and drive in to a power line at 190 mph
Great game, good game, fun game, made me not wanna kill myself.
best open world survival game ive played, with the odd bit of cars mixed in, by the way i love both!
This game, in all of its janky glory, somehow manages to capture the exact feeling of actually being in a car with your friends. That is, in co-op. If you enjoy driving, you'll enjoy this
I'd rate this game 7/10. The people who made it did a great job with all the functions of the character and with the cars. though I would like more Lore. How did the person playing get stuck in a deserted waste land? Why do the rabbits and mutants try to kill you? We long drive players don't know yet.
It's ridiculous, hilarious, and not smooth at all...
but let me tell you, if you and a friend get on this, you are gonna have a fun time laughing at the physics and the characters and everything in between.
I definitely recommend this game to others.
What's up with the game crashing. I have a pc meeting all the requerments by miles, but it crashes every five minutes. I know the game is fun, but if you do not give me a solution how to staop that, then i'm requesting a refund!
I went into this not expecting much, and that was about what I got.
It has its fair share of bugs, the mechanics are clunky, there is no story or objective, and it can feel relatively empty.
That being said, I found myself enjoying the ~10 hours I've played, as it's a decent time waster and the general atmosphere is pretty good. Nice little gem if you can get it on sale.
make the multiplayer run a bit smoother, be able to share custom radios in lobbies and maaayyybee add some new cars and weapons and its game of the year every year
singleplayer is already really good though, maybe some quality of life updates might be nice, but the devs have put so much work in this recent patch it feels really fresh
9.5/10 (minus 0.5 because the devs are hungarian)
This is a great game to kill time and relax. The price point is reasonable for what you get. My only complaint is that there are practically zero instructions and the controls feel foreign.
Its not the most exiting by yourself but if you grab a friend or multiple it is fun in a stupid way. As of writing this though multiplayer is incredibly broken which adds to the fun sometimes like when someone is freaking out about fighting a rabbit and no one else sees it.
even i run on a bad laptop it runs ok very fun with mods but i cant get into the discord
good and fun game but the multiplayer thing is reallt buggy
kind of confusing at first, but fun once you get it. i will say it does get boring after awhile but very solid for a random Saturday night.
Great game, more people should play!
I love all the work the creators are putting to make a creative game, cant wait till the official update!
It ain't for everyone, I'll say that. It has a very particular sense of humor that fits the category of gross-out humor, so if you're not into that, I'd pass on this. The physics engine is a bit jank. Honestly, the whole damn game is jank, but that's also its greatest strength. It is an absolute acid trip of a game, and I love it.
it would be cool to be able to find engines like the inline engines or V8 also W engines, also spoilers to add to our cars, and new cars like cars from the 80s and 90s like old german cars and american muscles, also engine parts like super chargers and turbos would be cool to see.
i would love to see some off-road cars too, and off-road roads, and rally upgrades like tires for rally, spoilers actually works, adding stuff to make the car lighter and maybe game modes like racing.
This game is great fun and takes awhile its funny and not complicated really so its all you could really need for a car game and more.
i have no clue how this game is so fun
i just wish multiplayer was a bit more playable (it is in early access so im confident in the fact that it will work effortlessly one day...[at least as effortlessly as this game allows])
I pray the multi-player gets better, but the solo is 10/10
um hi i recently disscoverd a bug in the game that wont allow the car to start no matter what car evan if i put in the liquids in the right spot it only goes very slow so pls fix this bug in the next update
If you got a bud to play with yeah it's a great way to kill an hour. The save function will NOT work so get ready to start over pretty regularly. Also the guest will NOT be able to drive at certain pings. Unless it was patched idk. Be kind to the guy he's doin it all up by himself and his bud i guess
This game is so stupid, so janky and buggy, but hilarious at the same time. I don't know why I've put so much time into it. It's addicting once you understand the game loop and get a little dopamine rush when you see a new structure miles away on a hill top and rush to it in hopes for new car parts or a better vehicle. It's like gambling, but there's no rewards. You just lose hours of your life hoping to get a cool car and before you know it you're killed by the oil drum you had stashed in your back seat when you swerved off the road and hit a power pole while changing radio stations in the dark. Yesterday I spent a good 20 minutes looking for my mirror that flew off when I crashed in the grasslands. Turns out it was underneath the car the whole time.
This is a very original idea for a game. The controls make no sense... until you learn them. Then you cant get over how useful they actually are. The physics are a good mixture of wtf and holy shit the cars are so realistic. Additionally, i never thought I would be asking my friend if he had bottles of bunny cum so I can shine my wheels up but here we are. Aside from all that, the most important aspect (to me) of this game does not function as expected :( I want to be able to play this game with my friends without the car constantly losing parts, being rocket launched to oblivion, or without the whole server being bogged down and every item including the players positioning updating once every 3 seconds, making it feel as if the game is running at 10 frames a second. I don't regret purchasing it but it honestly still needs a lot of kinks ironed out. I honestly wish the devs would sell the game to a bigger company that can better develop it so I can finally play this multiplayer (weve all been waiting for this to work for years)
The smell of burning gasoline. The horrible screeching of tires. You barely avoided hitting a light pole, and lost a side mirror in the process. You started this journey so long ago. You can't remember what your old home looked like, only how it looked disappearing into the distance from the very same mirror now smashed and sitting on the side of the road next to that dastardly light pole. What you call your car but others might call more a dune buggy tumbles along the road, just barely dodging rocks. Desolation. Hunger. Thirst. Bloodlust. You start making faces at yourself in the mirrors. You pass by a giant cargo ship. You don't question why it's there, you only know that it is in fact there. Gas stations on the side of the road provide you with your fuel. At this point your vehicle is filled to the brim with so many things that you may as well be walking for how fast your car is going. Eventually, everything starts to deteriorate. Your car starts driving in mid air, night turns to day in the blink of an eye, you start losing your sanity. Is it really sanity you're losing? Or is the world around you falling into decay every mile you drive on this god forsaken road. You no longer drive for any reason. You simply drive because it is the only thing to do. The gas stations have stopped appearing, along with the occasional house or ship. It doesn't matter, your fuel tanks seems to have become self sufficient. Your body starts to meld into the car seat, your hands glued to the wheel by your own skin blending into the leather. You don't know when the car ends and you begin. Suddenly, for no reason at all, the car- and you- explode into a million pieces. You find yourself lying in the sand, no idea of who you used to be. You close your eyes and let the sand consume your body.
10/10
Best game on steam in my opinion, I LOVE THIS GAME.
it never gets boring and it is even better with modloader, i would recommend this game 10/10
Fun game, can be glitchy but the glitches makes it so much better
If you like driving, exploring, and a little bit of fighting, this is the game for you. There are ways to play with friends, and you can have a great time playing around together
Loved it, there is road, and you have car. very simple, very fun.
Very good game- Now hear me out, 15 dollars might be a little overpriced on the first impression but its really not, theres like a LOT LOT of content and you can really do anything, i mean its a sandbox after all you can basically do anything you want , The Guns and all that are pretty well made and theres just the right amount of lore in this game that keeps you thinking of what happened to the world of the long drive
super fun game and with the recent updated multiplayer is fixed and super fun! cant recommend enough super fun, if you like cars and building you will love this. good adventure with lots to discover> 10/10
This game is entertaining as hell to play, there is no game you can find like this on steam that would be able to give you the same experience, all the bugs and kinks add so much to this game its insane how fun they make it
The long drive have it's ups/downs but one of the issues is that the game is really unpredictable and the game be mad trippin. The game could be or is fun sometimes
overall 7/10 ("could be better or could be worse")
Really buggy but its relaxing in singleplayer and funny in multiplayer. It can get a bit repetitive or boring at some point though
Literally just want to play with my friend in a private lobby, randoms keep ruining the experience and there's no way to change it. Lobby screen has multiple options for friends only and invite only but there only for show since the don't work no matt3er what you do.
Please for the love of god fix the number of players who can join, that's all I want.
So when I select 2 players only it only allows in 2 players instead of 8.
Super lame coop experience until fixed, wouldn't recommend unless you're wanting to pay alone.
its a good game quit fun but in my opinion is only fun when you play with a friend but 20 euro is very expensive ngl...
the game is really fun, but really buggy. i lost my 140km trip due to a glitch. i went to go install mods, but it asked for my password and phone number, i honestly do not understand why it's like this..............................................................
A stand-out title in the "make your own goals" genre of games. Drive long distances, listen to the radio, take many rubber wives, lose your car down a hill. If you like games you can kinda check out and chill with, this game is it.
this game has been in early access way too long and it feels like they've made almost no progress on the game since 2019. I just played for 30 mins today and it just feels so bad. nothing works right, game feels so cheaply made. really wish they had improved on the original concept of the game.
Great Game very funny when I played it with friend in the earlier versions. Love to see that the new beta is giving multiplayer a go again
amazing survival game about driving threw the desert 11/10 i recommend this to anybody who didn't buy the game yet also can be extremely goofy and funny with your friends and just very funny but at the same time it can be very serious survival with you trying desperately to find gas when there's 0.1 gasoline left extremely fun and extremely good survival at the same time, and i wouldn't really call the game survival because you have to eat once like in 2 years but the game atmosphere and just gameplay is amazing, and how i said can be very goofy and funny and can be serious survival in the desert at the same time amazing game 11/10
