I love how detailed everything is, but I wish you could do a lot more like in Car Mechanic Simulator where you buy vehicles and restore them and upgrade your shop, and you take orders from the shop phone not have it appear automatically. Other than that its a sweet game and I'm enjoying it
Pros:
- Very in-depth
- Well designed
- Educational
- Entertaining
- Reasonably priced for what you get
Cons:
- Tutorial gives you minimal help
- Had look look for a manual online to grasp controls.
- No tool tips, I had to figure out that points earned are used to purchase m
Personal Statement:
I am thoroughly enjoying the game, it is giving a great insight into bus mechanics as a whole.
I did find it difficult to get into until researching online and found a manual on controls.
Points you earn through the jobs you do are used as a resource to further your progression within the game and to unlock other tools, tool slot, inventory slots and testing bay options (You need to manually spend these experience points). Maybe i missed something, but i noticed no tips in-game to directly tell me this and as a result almost lost the will to play.
However, I figured it out.
Surprised by the mixed reviews, but if i were to guess why it would be down the fact that people are missing the information on how to progress, how to unlock tools and tool slots, how the job cards have a mechanic built in that can show you where a specific part is, how to use the spare parts list correctly and finally not knowing about the free camera view (F5 to enter F6 to exit... this was a game changer for me).
This game is overall a good game and it plays very well once you figure out all the mechanics in game. Worth the money in my opinion and I hope developers will put some tool tips in-game for guidance for newer players.
fantastic game love it just want some more contant and updates or even some dlcs
Having played pretty much all the mechanic sim games (CMS 15, 18, 21, Tractor Mech sim, Wrench...) I consider this one a hidden gem.
The UI differs from the others, but works fine. It takes some getting used to. For instance, some players have apparently complained that they are unable to complete certain jobs thanks to part accessibility issues / camera angle problems. But, the UI offers the ability to "ghost" your way through the bus and approach any part at any angle, fixing this problem.
Anyway, this is a solid mechanic simulator game, with a lot of detail, smooth functioning, very few (if any) bugs, and a lot of things to learn about how MAN buses (three types) go together.
FWIW I consider this to be the companion game to "The Bus" (also by Aerosoft) in which you drive pretty much the same buses through the streets of Berlin. For those users of "The Bus" feeling guilty about knocking AI drivers out of your way in order to meet your timetable, consider getting Bus Mechanic Sim, in which you can repair your bus after abusing it. ;)
Much too difficult to target bolts to remove, sometimes impossible to target bolts. Tried for over an hour to remove a brake disc, could not target the bolt for the caliper from underneath or from up top. Biggest fault is that the parts on the bus, parts in inventory and the parts in the store are not called by the same name, especially for pressure hoses. Makes the game very confusing when trying to find the parts in the store.
It plays well but it tends to get a bit like well, where's the progression? you replace one part with another on a bus and that's it. Then you do it again on the next bus. You don't seem to be progressing and you're left feeling like what's the point?
A good way to waste a few hours. The technical aspect is good, however, the frustrating thing is not being able to carry more than one item during the normal mode. Also the time it takes to level up hasn't been explained fully.
If you're interested in Engines/Mechanics, then this game is for you.
As i'm a apprentice bus engineer for a british bus company i've kind of cheated in knowing what other things to look for when doing the job list. I plan to use this game as a learning tool as there's some things in my job that doesn't happen anymore and is always taken away under warranty to be sorted with the gearbox and engine.
For the gameplay its quite close to what happens in a garage, minus the mess and the struggling to undo rusted bolts and trying to see what im doing in dark parts of the bus. Even though the jobs in the game repeat themselves but that's exactly what happens in real life. ive never worked on a bendy bus so that was interesting to see how it goes together.
what would be a good idea for a harder mode in the game is to put a Streetlite Mercedes bus in the game. The amount of things that needs to be removed just to get to some of the other parts make the bus a nightmare to work on.
Up to this point, seems to be a well thought out game. Only problems I see is in the tutorial. Don't know how to Deflate a tire and is asking to check for certain things and can't find them to check them. Frame rate needs a little work as the game lags a bit at times. All very fixable however and massive room for expansion as well. Would love to see several types, makes and model of equipment at some point. I will be right here when that happens. I might be in the break room having a cup of coffee, but I'll be here! Good job guys! You have a potential winner here. The Devs will most surly have to do something about getting stuck in zoom mode or the game will fail, which would be a shame. The game has great potential from gamers like me!
This game is interesting. Starting to learn it can be a challenge, but is fun. Figuring out each and every section of the bus make for quite a challenge, and with luck you can have them done right. If successful you won't go crazy doing it and enjoy the game for a pleasurable experience.
I hope you guys keep making mechanic sims, because this is the way they should be done! Thanks! This is a real gem.
My pc is better then the requirements but im still only getting 10 fps. horrible game
When joining game it is very unstable, not even 30FPS when looking at the bus even on high end pc's, game needs some work but i can see it come to life pretty soon :)
Bus Mechanic Simulator Review
The Game play
It very good with a lot part to take apart, I really enjoy this game
Now the pros and Cons
Pros
Very challenging
Harder jobs with level 2 to 3
3 buses to work on
Free play to learn
Cons
Only 1 Manufacturer
Radio is no good
Tutorial needs improvement
No mod support
this game is actually quite good, holding my interest longer than the car mechanic games (maybe i need to revisit those). Nice amount of detail and the jobs become more complex when you level up. the sounds and graphics are nice. the radio not so much, but you can play your own. it's definitely not for everyone.
recommended for people with patience looking for a chill game.
So I've got 10 hours in so far, and figured it was time to write my review. As a huge fan of mechanic simulator games, I was very drawn to this game. With tons of hours of Car Mechanic Simulator 2018, this game is amazing. The amount of detail is intense. The smallest bus has 2000 parts, so this would definitely be a hardcore mechanic sim. Every tiny part seems to be in this game. Once of the biggest differences that really jumped out was that there is no "money" in this game. When you replace a part, you go find the new part from a fully stocked part room. Once you finish a job, you're rewarded with points (which need to be re-balanced prior to leaving early access) that you later use to redeem for new skills. One of the features that makes the game harder is that once you make a repair, the game doesn't check it off from your job list, so you have to make sure that it's been done before you send the bus out. I've seen lots of reviews talking about crashes and locked loading screens, but I haven't had a single issue, and I'm running it on a lower mid-range PC. The graphics are good and gameplay is smooth.
All in all, I really enjoy this game! If you like mechanic sim games, than you'll love this game for sure. The only major con I have to report is that in its current state, you can't save your game during a job. So when starting a new job, you have to use time management to see if you can finish it before having to quit.
this game is very detailed in many ways and i would recommend it best mechanic sim game i have played yet the developers are very helpful with questions
Unplayable for me right now as there is a constant lag issue even with a decent spec PC. Once the dev fixes this it should be a good game i would imagine.
So far so good, very in-depth. The only issue I have is FPS, I would like the option or while in disassembly mode the grey outline of removed parts is turn off and turns back on when in assembly mode. There are a few spots that are hard to reach, so maybe a new camera mode.
But all in all to love the detail in this.
Had to force quit on the first startup as it froze the whole PC, explorer would not respond. and then the 2nd Start, it loaded into the Game ok.
Frame rates are very Weak for the Ryzen 3800X, FTW3 1080 Ti.
But all in all it is Playable and I know that the Dev's will update as time goes by.
My rating is Positive as it does look like there is a lot to do in this Game.
ok so the look of game made it look promising and was looking forward to it would recommend this game had few issues at the start but managed to sort them out and now i am having trouble coming away from the game graphics are supurb few lil niggles but you can ignore them for now as it is a new game and im sure they will resolve this lil niggles out.
Very Slow Load Times was on the loading screen for about 20 minutes before it loaded me into the game.
