Graywalkers: Purgatory is a stylish turn-based strategy RPG set in a supernatural post-apocalyptic world where Heaven and Hell had merged with Earth caused by a event called the Rupture. Inspired by a combination of gameplay from XCom, Jagged Alliance and Fallout, the game generates a unique but familiar experience for the turn-based tactics player.
You play the prophesied leader of The 36 Righteous Ones who are now called Graywalkers. You and the other Graywalkers walk the path between Heaven and Hell and Darkness and Light, each one destined to protect humanity in their own unique way. Your goal is to search for the 35 other Graywalkers and recruit them in your cause to unite Purgatory and lead the fight the reclaim the world from the supernatural invaders that have conquered the rest of the world.
GAMEPLAY
The game currently has 2 modes of gameplay active: Preludes and Mission are the current Modes available. A campaign mode will be following as well.
- Mission Mode - You choose missions to go on and these leads to other missions. Some of the missions are stand-alone while the others are mini-campaigns wherein each successful mission will lead to another until the story is resolved.
- Preludes - Preludes are like short stories except you play through them as the character highlighted for the specific prelude story. These are stories about the different Graywalkers before they begin their part in the single player campaign.
KEY FEATURES:
- Real Time Exploration - When traveling on maps, the movement is real time. Only when combat ensues will it shift to turn-based gameplay
- Action Unit Based Turn-Based Combat - play in classic tactical combat where you do actions based on your available Action Units
- Recruitable Heroes - find, convince and recruit your heroes from at least 40+ available playable characters, each with their own style, personality, motivation, relationships and history.
- Unique RPG System - the game utilizes a unique and original table-top RPG game system that will be coming out soon.
- Continuous Addition of Missions - initially, you will get to do at least 7 mission and more will be added monthly until we reach a minimum of 50+ missions
- 7 Races - There are 7 available character races to experience in the game: Humans, Dhampir, Wolfkin, Nephilim, Cambion, Faechilde and the Hunterborne.
- 10 Character Paths - There are 10 playable character paths available:Agent, Armsman, Arcanist, Diviner,Martialist, Scout, Soldier, Slayer, Survivor, and Tech
- 100+ Abilities - Choose from over 100+ different abilities that from different categories: Physical, Mental, Social, Racial, Combat and Supernatural. These abilities give you both passive and active advantages
- Hundreds of Items - Discover hundreds of items in the game from Weapons, Armor,Ammo, Consumable Items, Accessories and other types of loot.
- Dozens of Threats - Encounter dozens of threats from bandits to mercs, to beasts and monsters, andto all manner of supernatural creatures like Angels, Demons,Vampires, Werewolves, Undead, Spirits and many others.
- Explore Purgatory - Explore the dangerous island continent of Purgatory. Travel through scorching deserts, dangerous wastelands, overrun forests, historical city ruins, dark caverns and even into supernatural realms

25 bucks wasted god damn it
Overall, the game is worth getting and is playable. Definitely it is still an early access game that still needs some work. As long as the devs continue working on it, it would be a good game. I like the concept and the characters seems interesting to play. Combat is good and fun and the visuals and graphic style have nice look to it. Too bad that there are not enough missions to play though yet and the idea of preludes is unique. I also ran into a couple of bugs that hopefully gets fixed.
The game is still rough around the edges but it definitely has tons of potential. The graphics are good mostly though there are areas where its not. There are bugs but nothing game breaking. The combat is stable and fun for the most part though some work on balancing might be in order. The world that is being portrayed is intriguing. If you are more of a tactical player then there is enough content from the missions. If you are more into the RPG aspect, then there isn't enough yet in that aspect. With some more work, I believe this game will become even better.
Very little content for the asking price especially after all this time in development. Its like almost every area i click on has a not available yet in early access text on it. This along with the bugs made it a experience of dead ends and frustration which for a price that nears thirty dollars when tax is included leaves a negative aftertaste.
Audio sounds uneven as the nice heavy metal plays at a lower volume while sound effects are blasting away at a higher volume which gets a bit nerve wracking when it comes to weapons fire etc.
Unfortunately refunded but will keep an eye out to see if things vastly improve over time from their current state.
The game's concept is interesting. There seems to be a lot more content now than it did before. There's more things to do and new things to experience. It still needs some more work but it is an early access title so nothing surprising there. I'm excited to see what will be there in the future.

This game has a lot of potential and still needs a lot of work but it seems like the dev team is really trying. I've completed all 7 missions available and eagerly await more content and want to further develop my team of Graywalkers. Currently there's no save feature during missions but thats going to change and you can save between them. I enjoy the atmosphere of the game. Some maps seem kinda cluttered though. If you don't mind going through the growing pains that is early access then by all means purchase the game if games of this genre are something you like
Has issues in current condition, but I am quite happy with it, and hope updates are quick.
No main campaign yet, they have preludes and missions, but with no saving from map screens, just in between, up to a certain numbers of team members may be used but only a couple of characters to choose from in either right now.
Good x-com type game, You gain experience right now, and i do see really nice character development and build of skills. Fun to play as is right now, and I am excited for more, because it looks to have a boatload of playability to come. Looks are a bit dark visually, and some views are a little struggle to get without having high trees or something bothering the best angle, although map rotation and panning is all fine and easy. Price is not too bad for what it even gives right now, Some may want to wait, but this is definitely one to keep checking on.
