This little puzzle game deserves way more recognition. It was sitting on my wishlist and then backlog for a really long time, until I've accidentally launched it and was charmed by its style and simple rules. I think this game finds a good difficulty balance: the puzzles aren't that hard, but also not completely trivial and require some planning. The only stumble I've had was not immediately understanding the cloud concept: these are just boxes that don't fall :)

Great little puzzle game! Easy to understand but challenging to solve; exactly what you want from a puzzle game. Lovely pixel art presentation as well, with clear feedback throughout.
Plays perfectly on Steam Deck too (despite being unverified at the time of writing this review).
Magnibox is a cute puzzler, with really neat ideas, that is really bogged down by the puzzles themselves.
Most of the puzzles, in their opening, look pretty daunting, however, save for some neat exceptions, the actual moves you need to make are very limited, and the solution is very easy to discern. Even when you cannot find the solution, doing random explanatory moves seem to accidentally get you to the solution 50% of the time, I wasn't even using my (relatively small) brain on those. And what is with that secrets achievement? Completely out of place in regards to the game, and was more tedious than anything else.
Hate to give this one a negative review, but ultimately the puzzles in this one were not that great.

Extremely realistic magnet-based puzzle 'em up. I enjoyed how cute it was, and the puzzles were good.
Yeah pretty simple puzzler but it was good enough to keep me hooked! Definitely got my moneys worth. Does exactly what it should. I liked it.
Fun little puzzle game. None of the puzzles are real brain busters, but some of them do take a bit of thinking to complete. The colors and overall look are pleasant, and the concepts are executed well.
Magnibox is a decent puzzle game. The puzzle mechanic based on magnetic polices and movement parity is neat and gets pretty thoroughly explored throughout the game.
The number of levels (8x20 = 160) is ridiculous, though - there are just too many. The levels are enjoyable but rarely mindblowing; often there are so few valid moves available that one can find puzzle solutions simply by process of elimination, which feels unsatisfying.
I think an editing pass cutting the number of levels down to 100 or even less, while polishing the ones that remained, would've made for a better and more memorable game.
Really cute puzzle game that knows when to introduce a new gimmick -- always stays fresh even with the simplistic mechanics and is great to pop open for a quick few puzzles (though I found myself playing for longer than I planned every time). Definitely had some hard puzzles but never had to resort to using a guide either, great difficulty.
Cool Puzzle game with interesting mechanics. All the rules are shown rather than told and I was never stuck. By that I mean I didn't get so frustrated as to look up a guide even if a level took me a few tries. I probably would've paid 10€ for this, definately recommend.
Kind of a mixed bag this one.There are many levels but most of them are too easy,only the last 3 chapters raise the difficulty and make you think but not to the point where youre stuck,more to the point where you just try 3 or 4 solutions untill you get it right.I have to give my verdict based on the whole game and Im sorry but I cannot recommend this one because it lacks quality,really basic puzzles and a little challenge in the last 3 chapters.
magnibox is a beautifully-presented puzzler with great music (for a while, can get a bit repetitive) where you have to make the cute blinking magnet roll over to the exit somehow. no timer or turn limit, you fall when you reach a place where you'd normally fall, and you can attract yourself to or distance yourself from magnetic surfaces you're lined up with if facing the right way. you can fall off the edge, there are some dangerous blocks, and you can paint (well, roll) yourself into a corner, but no moving hazards or enemies.
the 160 levels are split into 8 worlds and new mechanics are introduced at a steady pace, right until the end. there are conveyor belts, pushable blocks, pressure plates, teleports, magnetic clouds, etc. and when you complete a level, the next 3 unlock, so you can make progress even if you get stuck. what's more, you can unlock all the levels from the menu, but because of all the new mechanics, I wouldn't recommend it. the difficulty curve is pretty good, no huge spikes if you go in order and most levels are relatively easy.
it's a great game at a great price, should take about 6 hours to complete, and that includes finding the secrets in every world (see my secrets guide if you need help), and while it has a pretty good options menu (separate volume settings, screen shake toggle, windowed mode in various sizes) and unlimited undo got patched in as requested, there are a few technical issues as well.
first of all, while the overlay works, you can't take screenshots with f12, nor does the audio turn off when you alt+tab, and even though there's a mouse cursor, it doesn't do anything. I don't mind a keyboard-only game, but then hide the cursor.
a somewhat bigger issue is control-related. all you need to navigate both the menu and the magnet is left, right, select, back, use magnet and undo, and it's great that the game offers various keys for everything, such as arrows and wasd for movement, z and up arrow for magnet use, but the problem is it doesn't always display all the options, and even when it does it isn't always helpful.
it adapts to your control method, which sounds good in theory, so if you go with wasd, it'll tell you the rest of the keys based on that, if you go with arrows, it'll display those. but what if I want to mix things up? there's no rebinding, which is fine in this game, but I really need to know what to press then. and if you go with arrow controls, you'll have no idea how to get back from a menu because the 'back' symbol is something I still haven't been able to identify, so the only way I could exit the options and the credits was with alt+f4, until I read on the forums that the other (working) key is 'k'. for going back a menu. why?! and why don't esc, backspace or both do the same?
sure enough, if you start moving with wasd, it'll disdplay 'k' as your back button, so it's clearly my fault for choosing a more comfortable movemenet layout for a game like this and missing out on extra info that should be displayed anyway. especially if the alternative is a key that doesn't even exist.
as I said, it's a more serious problem, but only until you figure out which keys do what (again: press 'k' to go back in menus), then it doesn't matter anymore, but it makes a really bad first impression and it should definitely be fixed at some point, along with the other minor issues, then it'll be pretty much perfect, but even in this state it's highly recommended, a really fun game and worth it even at full price.
Easy to learn, hard to master.
A game that seems deceptively simple at first, but as you go on, it becomes more complex. You control a rolling magnet that you can activate to interact with objects in the level's environment. Some drag you to places. Some push you away. Some let you grab boxes. Some let you push those back. Teleports. Conveyor belts. Switches. And more.
Use all what is given to you to reach the exit.
For the price, it's worth your time. And again, just to see how fast you can finish them. But trust me. Pick it up.
A smart grid-based puzzle game with a smooth difficulty curve and a steady drip of interesting new mechanics. Magnibox never gets as intricate or difficult as games like Snakebird or Baba Is You, so you're not likely to get stuck on any puzzle for too long. The pixel art is simple and colorful, the tunes are bouncy, and the whole experience is all-around pleasant. A good way for casual or serious puzzle fans to spend a few hours.
Excellent puzzle game. The first world might start off a bit slow, but soon the puzzles become really tricky.
It just seems I can't rebind the controls, since Z and X are not really useful keys for anything outside of the english QWERTY layout. Luckily it supports controllers and plays just fine with a controller.
A cute, cool, and clever puzzle game. The levels are of a good size which makes you feel like you have good overview of what is going on and your brain isn't immediately overheating. New elements are slowly introduced without ever getting overwhelming. The whole thing is beautifully presented, and the music is catchy and soothing to your brain while it is working. Warmly recommended.
Very clever puzzle game with a great art style. So far I've only beaten the first world but the puzzles never seemed unfair and everything was taught in a good pace. Definitely worth the price!

Such a clever cute puzzle game, with top notch pixel-art and super catchy music.
Level design at its core!
Starts of pretty simply with a great introduction to each mechanic and gets clever, challenging and fun real quick.
All of this for such a generous price, so just buy it already.

This is a really cool puzzle game. The mechanics are introduced in an easy to understand, gradual way and the challenge ramps up with each new feature. The design style is also really very pleasant. Definitely worth the money.
