Lossless Scaling allows you to scale windowed games to full screen using the state-of-the-art scaling algorithms, as well as use ML based proprietary scaling and frame generation.
Frame generation options:
- LSFG
Scaling options:
- LS1
- AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution
- NVIDIA Image Scaling
- Integer Scaling
- Nearest Neighbor
- xBR
- Anime4K
- Sharp Bilinear
- Bicubic CAS
The latest feature allows you to use Lossless Scaling to generate additional frames in games that do not have such support, including emulators.
Lossless Scaling is also useful for upscaling modern games if you cannot run them at native screen resolution (GPU limited) and want to get rid of blur due to bilinear scaling of the GPU driver, as well as for upscaling older and pixel-art games which do not support modern screen resolutions or full screen mode.
For modern games it is best to use LS1 or AMD FSR. For scaling pixel-art games, use Integer Scaling or xBR. Anime4K is best suited for cartoons or anime.
Requirements:
Scaling makes sense when you are limited by GPU power. For the best experience, limit the game to a stable frame rate so that Lossless Scaling has resources to work with.
- The game must be running in windowed mode
- Windows 10 1903 or newer

they removed some good features for some reason, in order to get them back, you need to revert the app to a previous release through the beta options
use legacy_3.0 - 3.0.0.1 for 1/2-1/4 v-sync options and gdi api support
use legacy_2.13 - 2.13.2 for windowed mode support
you might want to look at ytszazu's test but it mostly depends on your hardware
Astonishing :
MAX performance improvements, inmy case for Transport Fever 2, TW-Warhammer III, Empyrion, Fallout 4 etc etc etc !
For all systems and games this is a BLAST !
Even Higher Performance or solving graphical lags, Lossless Scaling Delivers !
YES, BUY This !!!
This software is extremely promising for the future of gaming, especially multi GPU gaming. Tweakers will find the real game enjoyed is playing with the program itself and getting the best result.
This program allows you to use machine learned methods in order to artificially generate higher resolution frames and artificially generate frames in between real ones. This results in noticeable performance boosts with even older cards. Its possible to get higher fps with less GPU usage with this program alone.
It should be noted though that this program is very tweak able and is not really made to be plug and play. There is a lot of customisation which is fun for the tweaker, but maybe frustrating or daunting for a casual player. A good example of this is the following...
This program works best when the GPU does not reach 100% utilisation. Thus, you really should consider frame limiting your games so that the GPU is not attempting to run the Frame generation and scaling methods ontop of rendering your game at 100%. You will likely need additional software to frame limit games properly.
The very progressive element this program can provide however, is multiGPU setup. This software allows you to use a much older GPU to be dedicated to frame generation and scaling, and your primary GPU for native frame generation. This is exciting for two main reasons
1. MultiGPU set ups have been an ineffective choice recently with SLI and Xfire support dropped. This changes that dramatically, with an older GPU being capable of doubling your frame rate
2. This technology is generally only offered by AMD and Nvidia, but locked behind their respective modern generation of GPUs. LS allows this technology to be used by 100% of GPUS, on almost all games in existence
This is one cool app, I definitely recommend picking this up when it's on sale. Being able to use various upscalers AND frame generation on anything is awesome, even browsers work so if you want to for some reason watch 8k youtube upscaled with FSR at 60fps frame gen'd to 1200fps on your non existent 1200hz monitor you sure can! Yes 1200 frame gen goes up to 20x lol
The only thing I would not recommend are those who are only interested in the frame generation and only has 60hz monitors, I definitely don't recommend using it at baseline of 30fps even with latest version, 60fps or higher is the way to go.
This is probably the best $3 USD I have ever spent. As a mainly laptop users I cannot stress enough how good this is. Utilizing iGPU to do the upscaling and frame gen work while dGPU is busy rendering the game. They both work together and resulting in 165 FPS on my 2K external monitor on ray tracing enabled titles. It is insanity. I don't care the teeny tiny bit added input lag it boosts my frickin' 40 FPS to 165 totally wort it in any scenario! Highly recommended regardless you grab it on a sale or not! This software needs to be your priority to run every game available today with your cheap or/and old hardware!
this is a game changer. i tried it with black ops 6 and it made the game run hella smooth. like what other people have been saying this is like downloading more RAM but with frames and it is actually not a scam. this is dirt cheap too since its on sale (spring sale as i am typing this review right now). get this while you can.. should work with any game.
this is good for non intense input games like Honkai Star Rail, is not good for fps game like Valorant. this is good for they wanted watch video at the same as your monitor hertz. the latency was noticeable, better use monitor at 240hz i guess
If you're struggling with low frame rates on an older PC, Lossless Scaling is a must-have. This software significantly improves performance without sacrificing too much visual quality, allowing you to play newer games on older hardware. A great value for the price!
Drastically increases smoothness at the cost of latency; really good for non-competitive games. Looks way better than AFMF 2. Highly recommend.
If you're running an AMD GPU, disable the "Record Desktop" setting in the "Record & Stream" tab in Adrenalin.
I've been using Lossless Scaling for a not so long but, honestly, it's a total game-changer. You keep all the details, you get frame generation, GOOD performance with no compromise, all without spending 3000$ on a gpu.
Highly recommended!
It takes more resources trying to use it, making performance on games a little worse. The input lag it causes is far more noticeable than reviews lead me to believe.
I heard about this program, and it is pretty hype around its community that it peaks my interest to give it a try and to see what's the hype about.
I primarily bought this for Final Fantasy XVI, the only game that gives me trouble right now. Yes, it has built in framegen (FG) and Super Resolution/Sampling/Scaling, but it still stutters a lot.
Running adaptive FG in this program surprisingly fixes the stuttering most of the time, but I also notice that it creates two main problems in +30 mins running Lossless Scaling (LS). Namely, artifacts and latency, applicable to both fixed and adaptive FG.
The artifacts are most noticeable at the edges of the screen while running FG in LS, it is worse than DLSS, FSR/FG, or XeSS. It is acceptable or bearable to say at least if you enjoy and too focused on what you're playing, but the latency is the big issue here.
The latency makes me feel sick when this is turned on. You can feel the delay behind every input on your controller/mouse and keyboard which is not ideal in action games. I don't notice this in DLSS or FSR/FG, but it is a big problem here in LS.
As of the moment, I can't recommend this program to others, but I'm keeping it. I like what you, the dev, doing here. As a support, I won't refund this even if it doesn't fit my needs right now.
I'm looking forward to future updates. Wishing you good luck. May God bless you more.
Absolute magic. You need this if you need more FPS in games. Frame generation gets a bad rep and i was never interested in it.. but this is just wizardry. No issues at all. Extremely low input delay too, you wont notice it. The only place i would not use this is competitive gaming where every millisecond counts, for every other game.. this is the tool to get.
At the moment, I can't say anything else except this is some black magic f*ckery right here. Extremely affordable frame gen with a ton of options you can experiment with.
Software is very good, the upscaling is awesome, and the Frame-Gen is very good IF the FPS is already high (60 at least)
An incredibly impressive offer for the price tag that just keeps getting better and better. Since the new Adaptive Frame Generation option released I've been going nuts cross-testing it vs native frame gen implementations (DLSS where available, FSR3 where not) and it's come out even better or at least on par in 99% of those comparisons on my 4080. And even in the one or two cases where it lagged behind DLSS3 frame gen, it was still better than what I would be getting with no frame gen.
And that's just on the higher-end side of things. For the lower-spec gamers amongst us, the upscaling feature is huge for carving out better performance. It won't outdo natively implemented upscalers of course, but not all titles have those, and it provides an always-viable alternative for the cases where they aren't to be had.
Point being, low spec or high, this software has something for everybody and it just keeps getting more refinements and features added. It's stellar.
EDIT: Just realized how low my use time is listed as. That's wildly inaccurate - LS has a "launch during startup" option I have enabled at almost all times and since that's launched outside of Steam, it doesn't seem to trigger Steam's time tracking.
I have an old game which I couldn't play or didn't want to play because it was literally capped at 60 FPS. Even though I had tried and really liked the game, I just left it on the side, pondering if it was an impulse purchase. Whatever the case, my liking for the game made me get it, and when I did, due to the cap, I was kind of disappointed and thought I'd never get to play it.
Last day, I booted it up out of curiosity and decided to run Lossless Scaling with it, seeing as some of my friends did the same frequently. I was surprised to find that in that game, it actually worked, which I thought was impossible to go beyond the cap.
Here are my thoughts and understanding of this program, LS:
Lossless Scaling is a really great and valuable program that literally generates frames for you, meaning it increases your FPS if you have a supporting monitor that can render the extra frames. This is depicted as Hz or Hertz, like 60 Hz monitor equaling 60 FPS in your game, and beyond. I have a 144 Hz monitor, and with the use of native Nvidia Frame Gen technology (FSR for AMD) or Lossless Scaling's Frame Gen tech, my games often reach that limit and hold steady. This is why I noted that it’s a great and valuable program.
In my experience, having anything at or above 120 FPS in a game is literal heaven.
More frames provide smoother and more responsive gameplay. Frame Gen in general increases input latency somewhat, but Nvidia has developed Reflex technology to combat this downside, and AMD has developed a similar tech (Radeon Anti-Lag). This ensures frames rendered by your computer process more quickly, reducing input lag caused by Frame Gen. Lossless Scaling can make use of this tech if the game supports it. You can run LS and enable Reflex (if available) in-game for an optimal experience. If a game doesn't have Reflex natively, you can still tweak LS settings for optimal performance. Check online for the recommended settings for your GPU and monitor.
A few years back, people joked on forums and in social media comments about "downloading more frames for your computer" or saying, "Download more RAM." It was an ironic joke because that was basically impossible and the stuff of dreams. Now, advancements in AI models like Google's Gemini or Microsoft's Copilot have made it a reality. Nvidia originally utilized and implemented this AI into their 4xxx series GPUs through work on powerful servers. A few years later, this technology has become more widely available through other sources beyond GPU manufacturing giants.
Nvidia's Frame Gen tech is native to their GPUs, meaning developers must manually implement this tech into their games. Therefore, not all games, especially older ones, support this technology. The magic of Lossless Scaling is that it provides Frame Gen tech for almost all games. While I couldn't test all games, what I've seen so far is really impressive. LS just works, and it's fantastic because I'm picky about frame rates in games. In the past, we often missed our target frame rate by 10 or 20 frames. Now, with this app, they are working on perfecting it through constant updates, and it performs better with each update.
The magic of the program also lies in the following features:
Adaptive Frame Generation
Resolution Scaling akin to DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) from Nvidia
Latency and Artifact Reduction
Compatibility with many GPUs and games
Every gamer should have this in their toolbox, and I wish you many frames for your gaming enjoyment. GG
I am genuinely impressed. I frequently mod framegen capabilities into my games to make the most of my monitor's frame rate. This is almost on par with those in terms of quality, even though the mods can access the in-game vector information. It also blows the fluid motion frame capability offered by AMD out of the water with far fewer visual artifacts.
It has been especially useful in getting Elden Ring to a higher FPS than the measly 60 FPS the game developers locked it to.
The adaptive frame generation feature makes this so easy to use.
Very, very nice work.
It's amazing how much PC gaming jank lossless fixes or mitigates
- It fixes VRR flicker for me by allowing me to skip using it and framegen to my refresh rate at all times and in all games, in all fps conditions.
- It fixes the high Vsync latency/tearing/judder dilemma for me. Default Sync option is great and has a low latency cost given all the issues it is fixing + adaptive mode ensures a no judder/perfect frame pacing experience no matter the fps
- LS1 non-performance mode softens the image slightly/improves low resolution induced instability in a nice way. Making DLSS artifacts/aliasing a bit less noticeable, especially helpful at lower resolutions. (windowed mode, scaling from lower than native)
- LS1 slightly improves color banding in games that use auto HDR (Surely in other scenarios as well, autoHDR just has a lot of banding issues and so improvements are noticeable when you enable lossless)
- I bought a tiny secondary GPU for 1/6 the cost of a GPU upgrade and with the lossless settings I use, my FPS is now 65-70 in games that used to hover around 50-55, (Prior to adaptive update numbers, also non-scientific) due to this I now also have more usable VRAM as the new card is set to handle windows and background application that use VRAM
- Now my 4070 ti can more easily play at medium-high textures instead of low-medium in the latest NVIDIA sponsored upsell attempt to 5090 tech demo video game :)
Additionally, getting the 2nd GPU fixed my primary GPU's nvlddmkm instability issue. Prior to this I had to downclock my GPU by around -300 MHZ on the core clock + windows registry/windows tweaks for it to remain almost mostly completely crash free. Now I can do +90 MHZ and it is completely crash free. What.
Thank you so much for making this program!
I bought this tool and it worked really well especially because it was the only solution I found to get Frame Generation in windowed mode.
Since the latest update (3.1) the windowed mode has been removed and now all applications you try Lossless Scaling on will go "Full Screen" adding horrible black borders if the aspect ratio of the original app doesn't match the display one.
Despite many users purchasing this product, mostly because it offered that feature (check the official Discord for proof), the devs seem to have no plan to reintroduce it.
I'm sorry to see the direction this project took and I'm sorry to say that if I pay something that offers me a feature and then said feature is taken away I'd call that a scam.
EDIT:
I forgot to mention the feature in question is still available should you choose to give up any future update to the app including new features and performance improvements and revert to an old build.
My bad for not even considering this a fair option to mention. Oh wait, because it isn't. :-)
Some of the best seven dollars I've ever spent, really. The explanations in-software make this program easy to use, and the ability to make playable framerates into the high framerate ranges cannot be beat.
Having gone from AMD's frame generation to this and even trying DLSS, this is my preference.
Each update is something I look forward to. On titles where a high framerate can already be achieved, it can be handy for keeping performance demand and fans quiet.
In terms of nitpicks (Note that these are anecdotal and subjective, the worst kind):
- I do experience black borders on the top and bottom of the screen.
- The program doesn't want to play well with Fullscreen mode (borderless and windowed are usually fine). This is on a per-game basis on how that ends up, either in a black screen (Elden Ring) or a disappeared mouse (Modded Minecraft, ATM9).
- Ghosting can be seen around stationary hud objects, though this seems to have improved in the latest beta. Note that it still slam dunks both AMD frame generation (from what I recall more than a year ago) and DLSS 3.0 on MhWilds.
Even still, with that aforementioned price tag? An absolute steal, compared to shelling out a used car's price for DLSS 4.0 on a shite-box 50-series Nvidia.
Very worth it for 7$, compare to RTX5070 that does the same things with AI.
Work as intended, Though its not suit every single game.
!!! Settings : 60 FPS LOCK (Original), NIS Doubled (Targeted 120 FPS)
!!! Game tested :
@7 Days to die - This game are widely known very poorly optimize, utterly garbage performance, especially during blood moon, or in the city. LS work very well with it,
Noticeable artifacts : 4/5 Barely seen.
Latency : 5/5, From 7 ms increased to 21 ~ 40 ms with LS.
@Minecraft + SEUS shaders
Noticeable artifacts : 5/5. No artifacts.
Latency : 5/5. There are no significant increase latency.
@Palworld
Noticeable artifacts : 3/5. Some artifacts and ghosting maybe annoying.
Latency : 2/5. Some input lag, 80 ms+, depends on FPS.

yes
very useful for older games that don't work in full screen, but are too low resolution in windowed mode for modern monitors
DLSS-like up scaling that works on almost anything windowed, frame gen is neat too
Review of Lossless Scaling (10/10)
Lossless Scaling is an amazing tool that revolutionizes the way we perceive low-resolution games. This program deserves the highest rating because it performs its job flawlessly, providing users with a huge improvement in image quality without any loss of detail.
What is Lossless Scaling?
Lossless Scaling is software that allows you to "scale" video games and applications to a higher resolution while maintaining the full sharpness and details of the original image. Thanks to advanced technology, this tool performs upscaling without any loss of quality, making older titles look better on modern high-resolution monitors.
Performance and Ease of Use
One of the greatest advantages of Lossless Scaling is its ease of use. The program doesn't require complex configuration—just launch it, select the game or application, and the program takes care of the rest. The interface is minimalist and intuitive, making it easy for even beginner users to get comfortable quickly.
Image Quality
What truly sets Lossless Scaling apart is the quality of the resulting image. Many scaling programs introduce noticeable quality loss, causing the image to become blurry, pixelated, or distorted. In contrast, Lossless Scaling not only improves the resolution but also preserves perfect sharpness, giving the impression that you're playing in a native higher resolution. I tested the program on several older games that typically struggle to look good on modern screens, and I was amazed at how well they looked after using this tool.
Compatibility and Support
Lossless Scaling is compatible with a wide range of games and applications. Whether you're playing older titles or running something with a low resolution, the tool handles the image improvement effortlessly. The program works on both Windows systems and various hardware configurations. Additionally, the developers regularly update the program with new features and bug fixes.
Price and Availability
On Steam, Lossless Scaling is available at a reasonable price, considering its immense capabilities. In terms of the quality it offers, it’s an investment that pays off, especially for gamers who value high visual quality, even for older titles.
Conclusion
Lossless Scaling is one of those tools that should undoubtedly be in every gamer's arsenal if they want to improve the visual quality of their favorite titles. The scaling quality, ease of use, and reliability of this program deserve the highest rating. If you care about enhancing the visuals of older games and applications without compromising on quality, Lossless Scaling is a tool you simply must have. A 10/10 rating is well-deserved.
this app massively underrated, it even beats out official offerings fron nvidia dlss and amd fsr, given the current absurd price scalping happening in the gpu market, this apps will gives your old gpu some new life for few more years.
i genuinely think bro is an actual tech-einstein while also being drunk enough to sell a nobleprize-worthy software at the cost of a starbucks coffee. Here take my upvote and upmost respect.
nb: nvidia and all those greedy corporate scumbags can go to hell honestly
Insane. I was highly sceptical but this is the real deal. You really can download more frames.
Only caveat it is there a very slight input lag, so would not use this on any highly competitive game. Only noticeable when your flicking the mouse at speed.
I am using this on Monster Hunter wilds which runs like complete crap on a 3090, barely 60 fps at 1440p normally and using lossless scaling, I'm up to 110+
For just a fiver, you can watch this guy make NVIDIA his bitch and take them for walkies down the street. INSANITY.
Lossless Scaling has been that one particular tool for me that I didn't know I needed it until I've used it. This tool is almost magical, even achieved MFG like feature earlier than Nvidia ever could, although at the cost of minor artifacts. hands down 11/10.
Some of the best software I've ever used.
Note that it's probably best suited to you if your games are getting 30-60 fps. Anything under and it's not enjoyable. Putting another AI FPS "generator" on top (I.e DLSS) is a no-go, although surprisingly works well in really slow games like Microsoft Flight Simulator.
10/10!
Use for FPS capped games like fallout or terraria. It also works really well on Helldivers 2 as long as your base fps is over 40, it will about double it with the 2x frame gen on a 2070s. Use borderless windowed
Like what others have said, this software is amazing just like magic it makes your game run at 60fps smooth as butter as long as you know what u are doing and set your game to the required settings. Keep up the good work dev!
You spend $5 and gain 3 times more fps. With one simple trick, you can significantly improve the smoothness of games. When it comes to Cities: Skylines II or Farming Simulator 25, the app works flawlessly and performs excellently with poorly optimized games.
Officially downloaded more FPS. Zero problems so far and super easy to setup.
This is actually a very important program because it lets you add many types of scaling and it's own (Pretty good) type of frame gen to practically any game you wish, this is especially important for older games that need to be capped and 60 fps or that due to engine issues have a hard time maintaining a good fps number (or when you mod the heck out of a game eg: elder scrolls, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., etc').
Also works with (mostly) any GPU
Recommended, although it is not as user friendly as possible.
Bear in mind that generated frames are not as accurate, or recent, as rendered frames.
Lmao go pound sand with your 50series prices nvidia.. framegen at home and it actually works decently for games that don't require delay free gameplay.
The fact that, with the correct configurations, Lossless Scaling can outperform AAA FSR and DLSS implementations for current gen Games in performance, visuals and frame generation, is absolutely absurd. There's almost always a set of configurations for your hardware capabilities, that will produce a better output than whatever the game developers decided to be the one available implementation.
Used to feel like more of a proof of concept, it was cool that you could literally download a software that doubles your framerate but it had a LOT of visual bugs and added latency.
Now... its good enough that I actually use it.
Download FPS, smoothness even better than native game settings optimization.
It is completely useful and works very well. Definitely recommend it even if you have high end pc.
It’s such an amazing and versatile tool. Personally, I find it best to use for retro games and those that have frame-rate caps. Using it with DuckStation feels like playing remasters of your favorite games.
I used to play solo lv10 dificulty on helldivers 2 with the automatons, since I was playing at 10fps.
Now I cannot escape them since LLS send me 30fps, and everything is smooth and SLOW as it should be. Im not glitching around and because of that I am getting shot as fk! 11/10 better than upgrading your cpu
This app is great when used properly, following the developer's instructions and the practical experiences of users.
It is especially useful for those who do not have the most recent video cards with proprietary Upscale and FrameGen technologies, but also not so old, since your system needs to deliver a stable framerate in games to work satisfactorily.
Since I bought it, I have used in all single-player games. To open it without needing Steam, just go to the source folder, create a shortcut from executable and send to desktop or pin on Start menu.
On my 1080p 144hz monitor, i use FG X2 with 72FPS locked to reach 144FPS. Upscaling OFF.
Below i show how i use it to play on a 4K TV, minimizing imperfections and defects as much as possible, at least this way they are unnoticed to me:
-Game in Windowed borderless
-1440p~1800p internal resolution
-Scaling mode 'Auto', 'Aspect Ratio'. Scaling Type LS1 '1'.
-FrameGen Mode 'X2'. Framerate limit on RivaTuner for me bare min '45' but would be better to always try aiming at least stable '60'.
*I completed 100% Jedi Survivor on EA App playing this way(locked 45FPS with FG X2 enabled to reach 90).
*You need a reasonable FPS base before turning on FrameGen, so as not to harm much both image quality and input lag.
Higher the better.
-After apply 'Scale', ideally your video card should be at a maximum of 90% usage, as this leaves some room for any frame variations that may occur.
-At the framerate I'm aiming(120), FG X2 is enough and doesn't cause much obvious image imperfections. However, I know some with higher than 144hz display who say FG X3 has improved a lot, causing much less artifacts, again if you already have a good base FPS 60-80.
-Despite clickbaits, this app doesn't magically turn very old systems into latest release Nvidia cards. If you have a low base framerate like i've seen before people using 20FPS, the image quality will be awful with a lot of ghosting, artifacts and the input lag will be terrible, impossible to play even with controller.
-If you have eyes used to high quality OLED displays, 360hz+, is too sensible about input latency and have very high standards, probably this app won't be good for you.
All things considered, the gaming experience using this app has been positive.
make the game smoother its look like the framegen work perfectly. thank you
I tried this a few months ago when it was version 2 and refunded it as I wasn't impressed with the output quality and input lag.
After seeing all the praise for the new version 3 I bought it again and am really impressed with it. I wouldn't necessarily use it for fast action shooters as it does increase input lag (though a lot less than version 2), but for other games I play like flight sims and colony sims it does a great job of doubling, tripling or even quadrupling my frame rate.
Aside from it helping with framerate, it means my GPU can be playing games with lower power draw so over time it will pay for itself with electricity saving.
Actually this is a game changer program, for example while I'm watching YouTube i can enjoy 120frame videos and now I can play games that have 60fps engine lock at 120fps or more!!!10/10
This app is great, especially if you use emulators stuck in 30 fps. The new LSFG 3 update has fixed most of the visual glitches on moving characters and reduced input delay by a lot. If you didn't like 2.3 LSFG give 3 a try!
simply amazing, particularly for emulators.
impressive. works better on some games than others. no one configuration fits all, so be sure to mess around with the settings in-app. you're able to change settings live, so you'll see the changes in performance and graphics in real-time.
if you suffer from migraines, particularly the aura in your eyes, this app somehow manages to simulate it almost perfectly, minus the colors and only in your fov's periphery. i found that neat. it doesn't always happen, just fiddle with the settings.
