3DMark is essential equipment for this quest. For more than 20 years, 3DMark has been the first choice for benchmarking, testing, and comparing PC performance.
There'll always be a new game that demands more performance from your hardware. And there'll always be new hardware that delivers more performance for your games. And so the cycle continues. Welcome to 3DMark, the Gamer's Benchmark.
3DMark includes everything gamers need to benchmark and compare PC performance. It has dedicated tests for all types of PC from lightweight laptops to dedicated desktops. 3DMark will recommend the best benchmark for your hardware.
3DMark tests your system's GPU and CPU performance by rendering extremely demanding game-like scenes in real time. The faster the benchmark runs, the better your score. Now your quest begins. What can you do to get a better score?
Start by comparing your 3DMark score with results from other systems with the same hardware. Lower than average scores may indicate a problem with cooling, configuration, or faulty components. Higher than average scores show the potential for overclocking your hardware. And if you’re wondering what your 3DMark score means for real-world game performance, 3DMark also shows you the frame rates you can expect in a selection of popular games.
Now see how much more performance you can get from your system. Update your drivers. Update Windows. Experiment with system settings. Run 3DMark after every change to track your progress. Identify bottlenecks in your system and compare 3DMark scores to help choose your next upgrade. Ask for advice, share tips, and show off your system in the 3DMark Community Hub on Steam.
Overclocking is an art that takes skill and precision. The goal is to squeeze every drop of performance out of your GPU and CPU. The reward is a free performance upgrade and the satisfaction of pushing your hardware beyond its stock performance.
3DMark is an essential tool for overclockers. Run 3DMark before and after overclocking to measure the performance gain. Use custom benchmark settings to explore your PC's performance limits. Make 3DMark tests more or less demanding by changing the resolution and other settings.
Run 3DMark Stress Tests to check the stability of your overclocks and the effectiveness of your cooling. 3DMark Stress Tests run in a loop to put your system under heavy load for longer than a standard benchmark run.
Challenge your friends to set the highest 3DMark score or compete for the top spot in the 3DMark Steam leaderboards.
If you love PC gaming, there's nothing better than building your own custom PC. And if you build it yourself, there's nothing more nerve-racking than turning it on for the first time. Will it boot? Will everything work properly? Whether you're building a complete system from scratch or upgrading a component, 3DMark has you covered.
Run 3DMark and compare your benchmark score with similar systems to make sure your new build is set up correctly. Detailed hardware monitoring charts show you how the CPU and GPU load, temperature, and clock speed changed during your benchmark run—ideal for identifying configuration issues.
Use 3DMark Stress Tests to check the stability of your system and discover faulty hardware while it's still under warranty. Stress testing is also a great way to test and optimize your system's cooling performance. A well-built PC with decent cooling should be able to deliver peak performance for the full duration of a 3DMark Stress Test.
3DMark can help when you are planning an upgrade as well. Search and compare benchmark results from all the latest graphics cards and processors on the 3DMark website to find the models that offer the best performance for your budget.
PC gaming never stands still and neither does 3DMark. Every year, we add new benchmarks, tests, and features. We update 3DMark regularly so that you can benchmark the latest PC gaming hardware. When you buy 3DMark today, you benefit from over nine years of continuous development, updates, and enhancements.

Nice to run some tests after you build a new rig.
The best game in Steam, the only one where you get the full excitement of a new CPU or a GPU and realize you should have bought the 4090 anyway.
Listen his is a good software, very good utility, but it is very, VERY hard to get it working on steam os/ other Distros. It is very fucking frustrating. I have comments enabled if any of yall got it working and would like to enlighten me. This just has to get fixed, to make it much easier without jumping through a million hoops just to get this damn software working.
Pointless. They price-gate versions of it. Sure, to earn more. But to what end? I bought it long ago because i expected a complete product. But today, there's better ways of figuring out what performance your PC got.
I was testing a couple benchmarks and overclocking my gpu/vram upon oc the vram it caused windows to crash. usually this is not a big deal, however it corrupted my boot drive, this was not repairable by windows and lead to an untimely complete re-install of my OS.
great way to test oc and new build setups. plus numbers are fun.
This tool is fantastic to bench mark your computer. It can also heat your room if you you have a big enough GPU "What I have been using it for" in these cold mornings.
No function on Linux?
How am I supposed to see my performance advantage from Windows 11?
Seriously, Linux is the only way to test pure performance without the resource hogs. How is there not support?
A relic from an era before games had their own benchmark tools, when software required a product key in order to function, and when nothing worked on Linux. On the other hand, they want to nickel-and-dime you for new benchmarks, so I suppose it is modern in that respect.
It is a useful tool for benchmarking your rig and to make sure temps are good under load
Best 3D performance benchmark on the market, it has almost every test you could ask for.
Give it a whirl.
Use it to test systems. There are a lot of not smart people who vote negative, do not listen to them.
Paid upgrades for a benchmark are bullshit. It's already overpriced.
Gives a clear guide to what arfe any bottlenecks in your system and provides a lot of information
3DMark is an essential benchmarking tool for anyone serious about evaluating their PC’s gaming performance. Whether you're building a new system or simply want to see how your current rig stacks up, 3DMark provides an extensive range of tests to measure your system’s capabilities, from gaming to general performance.
The software includes multiple benchmarks tailored to different use cases—such as Fire Strike for high-performance gaming PCs, Time Spy for DirectX 12 benchmarks, and Port Royal for ray tracing. Each test is designed to push your system to its limits and provide in-depth results that can help you gauge whether your hardware is performing as expected.
The user interface is intuitive and easy to navigate, even for those new to benchmarking. You can easily compare your results to a database of other users to see where your system stands relative to similar setups. The detailed reports give you insights into your CPU and GPU performance, temperatures, and more, which are invaluable for diagnosing bottlenecks or confirming stable overclocking.
3DMark also includes additional features like stress tests to ensure your system can handle extended gaming sessions and more demanding workloads. These tests are especially useful for overclockers and enthusiasts who want to ensure stability under extreme conditions.
While the free version provides access to several benchmarks, the paid version unlocks even more advanced features, including more specific and detailed tests. The value of the paid version is clear if you're looking for the most accurate and comprehensive benchmarking data available.
In conclusion, 3DMark is a powerful and reliable tool for both casual users and professionals who need to understand their system’s gaming and overall performance. It’s a must-have for anyone interested in getting the most out of their PC and ensuring everything is running optimally. Highly recommended for anyone looking to measure and push their hardware to its limits!
its good for blokes, like me, who build computers for other people and need to verify their builds and OC / UV
Awesome benchmarking tool; beautiful cinematics; really neat 3D art
Performs the functions it was designed to do admirably. I would recommend this product if you are determining how your system is performing in real life.
3DMark is a popular benchmark tool. It originally was developed by Underwriters Labs but now a separate team within UL handles 3DMark. Originally the TimeSpy component was used to benchmark graphics capabilities. Now CPU and SSD are added to the mix to balance out the comparisons.
This tool will run on Window 10 x64 fine. 4GB is fine but more is desirable. I have used this tool for years and it is useful to check new machines out with.
A great way of detecting technical information about components and how they perform against other people's machines. The only downside is possibly crazy fomo.
Been using 3DMark to troubleshoot my graphics card, RAM and CPU tuning since I had an HD5870 and AMD Phenom II 965... Now I have a 1080ti and 13770K with the highest score ever with this hardware configuration in firestrike ultra. I don't claim to be an expert overclocker(I think I mostly just lucked out) However, this utility can be used to get the most out of your hardware and you can see the differences you make in a very granular way that I think other utilities would miss. Lots of free updates, and it's just awesome to see what used to run at 30fps with top tier hardware be blown away by new top tier hardware that can run it at 200fps+...
great way to test if an overclock is stable, easy to use
Straightforward and predictable measure of system performance.
What can I say it simple to use and works, they also keep it updated
Does not run. Keeps getting stuck at some point in the process, but after an hour I haven't been able to run a single benchmark, including after multiple reboots and troubleshooting.
told me my i5 10500 spiked to 162% utility 6.9Ghz and 92C repeatedly when i am very confident it would have exploded immediately if it had also hw info says it did not go anywhere near that

It is a good tool to compare your system with others and estimate the performance of your PC
buggy AF and dont work well on new gen
Great tool to measuring changes to performance after changing setup or overclocking.
Why won't this piece of garbage software load? How many obstacles to loading the main menu or initiating a benchmark is it susceptible to?
What is it initializing?
What info is it gathering that it hangs?
How is it that every game I have loads fine, but this simple application can't?
Great benchmark to test your pc's abilities and stability for gaming and other software.
Yes it works fine. Good for benchmarking. I even reached out to Support and they were extremely responsive in my request (had to switch from iGPU benchmarking to dedicated laptop GPU benchmarking).
Excellent program for determining if you Graphics Card or CPU can run your games. I have updated my PC and the scores I have posted are tremendously better than my old PC; and I see this in my gaming with better graphics and higher frame rates. Especially in HALO Infinite and Dead Space 2023
this is the best bench marking tool it is very fun to watch and some of them are interactive. I could also compare my android phone with my pc with the same benchmark. (wild life) also when you finish downloading a benchmark for the first time you hear a satisfying steam finished downloading sound and it made me realize my laptop is cooler than my pc for some reason. (laptop is around 50c and pc is around 70c) :) I got a HP victus 4060 laptop and my pc is 4060 ti.
System lags when doing a simple update. On two separate machines. Avoid like the plague.
Well worth the money for relative CPU/GPU/Storage performance comparisons between platforms.
Have not ran this program for five years or so. It came as a shock but not unexpected to see "upgrade required" DLC... for a simple bench-marking tool to unlock all features. Utter shit. You collect my personal data and then hold me for ransom.
I do not recommend downloading this. I recommend Cinebench, MSI Kombustor, Passmark.
good results somehow never seem to be valid. needs more manipulations.
After having played a good chunk of this game, I can say that it was pretty nice experience. Graphics looked good and the story was relatively fine. Although, you need some chonky hardware to play this game, which leads me to my next point.
Despite this, my biggest criticism of this game would be how undoubtedly pay-to-win it is, you're telling me I have to spend upwards of more than a dozen thousand dollars on server-grade level hardware like AMD threadripper/Intel xeon chips with over the top dual gpu setups and liquid nitrogen cooling to even have a chance to get on the leaderboard? That is outrageous and approaching mobile gacha game levels of P2W, hardly any skill involved and mostly just how much money can you throw into your character. Most people aren't the sons of a Saudi oil prince surprisingly, so kiss any chance you want at reaching the top ranks goodbye. Even with my hardware I spent over 3K USD total on, I do not come close to getting on the leaderboard, which doesn't even scratch the surface of potential score for my in-game character that can be gained without resorting to unfair strategies that involve what I mentioned previously.
Overall, while I enjoyed the experience personally, and I got decently far enough with what I have for a good experience, which is why I rate this positively, I cannot recommend for those who value proper game balancing and monetary agnostic mechanics that prioritize skill over paying to boost your stats.
good program to find out the capabilities of your graphics card
I enjoy running benchmarks! When I'm playing with settings, I find it more than worth it. If that doesn't really interest you, just use the free version.
After working brilliantly for two decades - now 3DMark simply refuses to run - it hangs on the Collecting System Info stage of any benchmark. I have tried reinstalling this component but no change in behaviour - totally dissappoining.
I use 3d benchmark like any other builder. honestly i dont have much to expand on that anybody else hasnt already said as such i'll say this. money well spent good program
Great software for overclocking, or even just sanity checking that your stuff is working like it should!
3S Mark has always been the standard for the Benchmarking Industry, and it continues to this day. This version if it is the best yet. Please try it today.
Has to be one of the best bench marking tools in existence. Great tool to test any upgrades or overclocking.
Accurate and worthwhile software to keep up with performance of both graphics and the all important storage benchmarks. The storage benchmark is a $3.00 DLC and very much worth the 3 bucks. Disclaimer... this benchmark software has just about everything in DLCs, so the initial cost comprises of maybe half of what you'll spend. All the worthwhile parts are in DLCs.
Still worth it.

3DMark does the job of benchmarking / stress testing your computer with an all-in-one relatively clean interface. Whether the tests themselves are equal to or better than free alternatives on the internet may be up to debate, but if you value ease-of-use and all-in-one solutions, then 3DMark may be a good option for you. The ability to compare your benchmark with other people with similar hardware is a big bonus.
The reason this gets a low score from me, is that I do not recommend purchasing DLC's without closely reviewing Steam comments. There seems to be a trend of releasing subpar features to get some cash inflow. Note that you have free online alternatives to each 3DMark beanchmark / stress-test that do a better job. And in my opinion, if you cannot maintain your product without resorting to anti-consumer tactics, maybe you do not deserve to be in this business in the first place.
Lastly, another reason for low score is the decision to require separate external account in your browser to compare your scores to others. Why not add this feature inside the software itself? Why not link with Steam account by default? Unfortunate anti-QoL decision that no doubt reduces the amount of people publishing their scores.
---{ My Pro's }---
1) Clean user interface
2) Good way to compare yourself to others with similar builds
---{ My Con's }---
1) Price is a bit high
2) Anti-consumer lackluster DLC's
3) Score comparison requires separate external account in a browser
4) Overly difficult / nonsensical steam achievements
(ex. run a test on Jan 1st, run a test on Lunar New Year, run a test on unrecognized hardware)
5) Legendary score achievement is sometimes nearly impossible on certain hardware
Bought it during sale and went crazy tweaking and benchmarking my new system.
Managed 21,644 score in Time Spy with a i7-14700F and a 4070 Super
and also took #1 Rank (amongst same hardware) for Steel Nomad Light with 23, 174 score.
Really useful software for seeing the benefits of the upgrades to your computer or comparing two PCs.
