TLDR: This game is probably worth it on a heavy sale, but the overall quantity of content is lacking and frustrating.
This is a game that when I first tried, I was really fond of. I like how quiet it is, and how straightforward the gameplay is. It's the type of game that you can really zen out to if you get into it.
That being said, there plain and simply is so little content here that I've already gotten bored enough to put me off it entirely, twice. Making pottery by your own design is confusing as it's really hard to tell what will make it sell for more or less at the auction house. Making pottery by a client's design is frustrating, especially when it comes to the coloring and patterning stage.
It's often really hard to tell what colors EXACTLY to use and the game has no forgiveness for getting it wrong. This is especially obnoxious when the object you're painting is a mish-mash of like five different colors. I really thought a game of this style would have a more 'relaxed' mode where the colors and such don't matter to such a high degree.
If you're good at making your own fun or are particularly creative, you might get more out of this title than I have, but as it stands the scope is too limited for me to recommend it.
Thanks for reading.
Not what I expected, there's 0 feedback when you start sculping, and is nearly impossible to sculpt a perfect shape, you not really sculping, feels more like extruding and is not very precise
What a wonderful game!
User friendly and elegant.
Makes me want to invest in the real thing. :)
I am enjoying this game some much. It is relaxing and fun, the textures and aesthetics are pretty good too.
Finally after almost two years of owning this game I can play it without getting stuck on a black screen! and it is such a fun game
I love this game. Very relaxing and lots of room for creativity. The immersion is so good I could almost feel Patrick Swayzee caressing my shoulders !!
This game is exactly the vr experience I've hoped for. Chill, creative, and just a little challenging. I'm already looking forward to an absurd amount of hours on this.
I'd love if there was a way to turn off music without turning off all sound, but it's not a huge issue so far.
It's like the pottery part of Red Strings Club but in VR. Very simple, but relaxing.
Everything you make in this game looks like a 9th grade pottery project...
Pass on and get masters of pottery, that game may not have VR but at least you can make things you can feel really proud of.
It's relaxing, fun, a great way to express your creativity.
I like the game. It runs smoothly on Vive Cosmos. You can make really beautiful pottery in the game!
I love to be able to play and create just for the pleasure of it. I have had this app on my phone and tablet for years and still come back for low key, relaxing fun.
More than worth what I've paid for it, and I would pay for the option of a more involved game.
My only problem is that you can't opt out of a commission. I've gotten to a request that doesn't seem possible, and I'm tired of looking at it while I create
Enjoyable experience but a bit pricey for what it is
I don´t understand why nobody seems to play this game. It looks very polished, it even has some kind of campaign to it, and if there will be some reasonable social interaction between potters, I think it can be very soothing experience. Maybe the price is a little steep, 10 bucks would suit title with this scope better. But otherwise - I recommend everyone to at least try this.
Awesome, great, full of laffz! 10/10
Amazing game!
You model your vase, bake it, color it and sell it on auction to unlock additional materials, colors and ornaments. In addition to that game will challenge you to model some specific designs to boost your creativity. Overall very engaging yet relaxing experience.
I would like to see some additional modeling tools for better shape control. Sometimes hand feels bit clumsy and fat.
And, my god please, some share options! Ability to do some nice screenshots of final product with option to share them or save them to drive will be amazing.
Please continue improve the game! Its have a potential to be one of the best artistic experiences in VR.
This game is EXACTLY what I expected it to be.
Firstly I would like to point out that I have started "Let's Create! Pottery" using the beta version of Oculus Link and naturally, the developers would not have designed the game around that software meaning there would be a few problems but fortunately, the only issue I ran into was my hands in game being a little too far forward from their normal position. You will notice this issue but at the same time, it does not make the game unplayable in the slightest.
Now I have stated the headset and the only issue I have had, let's get into the pros and "not really" cons.
Anybody new could enjoy this game as shown by the tutorial at the beginning. The mechanics are told via a few picture icons however I did end up not knowing how to paint my first pot but I did find out how by mistake (the option was on my left wrist). I am sure the game explained this but I must have missed it some how. The icons were changing a little too quick for me, maybe a chime when you perform a step could help to keep the gamer alerted at the fact they are passing steps of the tutorial.
The game mechanics are exactly the same as the Smartphone counterpart. You can mold the clay using your hands or a laser pointer, both work great and I find that this game is much easier than the mobile version due to having the freedom to really get close to your work of art and completing the final touches with accuracy. The painting and decal work is fun however it would be nice if we could grab a brush and paint the pot for real, possibly picking it up with the left hand and painting it with the right for example.
Aesthetically the game is beautiful with the music complimenting the zen-like atmosphere. I preferred completing the pot so I could bake it as the sky box would change from day to night and the mood/lighting felt much better. It would be fantastic if we could pick between a constant day or night cycle but I do understand the day light helps you to see the pot as you are sculpting it.
If you enjoyed the mobile version of Let's Create! Pottery then you are going to love this however this game doesn't just cater to it's older fans, a new player could easily get into this, I will gladly vouch for it. Thank you to the developers for bringing this to VR and if you do read the reviews, please port it over to the Oculus Quest, this type of game would be very welcome on their storefront.
Works very well, the controls are intuitive, I use the hands options instead of the laser pointer. You simply touch the side to push in, or hover to pull material out, which is much easier than in real life!
I would love to be able to export the pot as an obj, fbx, stl or other 3d format so that I can 3d print it with my students and collaborate with the art teacher! This would be an amazing feature.
