Barn Finders is a fun and quirky game where you search old barns and other places for items to sell in your shop. The game has a unique look and funny characters that make it enjoyable.
The gameplay is simple and easy to understand, but it can feel a bit repetitive after a while. The humor is silly and might not be for everyone, but it adds a lot of charm.
If you like games about hunting for treasures and running a shop, Barn Finders is worth trying. Just don’t expect anything too deep or fancy.
Rating: 7/10
Very addictive game. I love it.

Very addicting! It's fun to find all the items on each map and sell them. Very interesting story line as well.
fun and easy to get a hold of. some of the mechanics are a little confusing but its a goofy light-hearted game that nice to just chill with. It can get a little grindy for money but it hooks ya with the bids and running the shop keeps you on your toes.
Really boring find the item game.
While I commend the concept of the game and I liked the idea of a game about the day to day life of a picker/pawnbroker, I can't bear the execution and I couldn't reccomend the game to anyone. I'll start with the pettiest complaints first.
The haggling mechanic works fine, but makes no logical sense. Firstly you're trying to ask a customer in a store to pay *more* than the listed price (which is illegal by the way) but you also get multiple chances to haggle the price even higher after they already agreed to the first higher price! Try that in real life, I dare you. There's a skill check for it so it gives the player a reason to do it, but it does break the immersion every time I do it. I'm supposed to be running a store, and this isn't how stores work.
The items that the game deems valuable and allows you find versus items that are just untouchable set dressing is frankly stupid. A matching timber dining room set? Well only the table is valuable, the chairs are all junk. A nice bloodwood timber bookshelf or kitchen cabinet, or vintage hurricane lanterns hanging on the wall? Can't have those, but this decayed and stained rag hanging on a shower head? $3! A rack of barbells and weights? All junk, chop them up for worthless spare parts! A trash bag in a dumpster or a decaying hessian cloth hanging over a doorway in a barn? Valuable trash!! Absurd.
In a game about collecting items with no enemies, no time pressure, no environmental hazards, and no reason not to go as fast as possible, the game has a sprint meter but doesn't actually have a sprint meter. You can hold down shift to run faster, but the character gets tired after a few seconds and you can't sprint again for X seconds. A typical sprint meter mechanic, but as far as I could tell there isn't one displayed on screen, so you just have to alternate between holding and not holding sprint now and then for no good reason.
I was fast losing patience with the game after I completed my first "storage wars" minigame and after completing the hardest lockpick minigame on one of three identical chests with varying levels of locks, there was nothing inside. The other two easier chests had some worthless junk in them, but the hardest one of all had absolutely nothing, which I can only assume is a bug. Then I made the mistake of clicking on a cardboard figure in the front yard which automatically gave me some sort of holiday themed cosmetic pack that made all my tools look stupid, and when using the flashlight it puts a big black shilloutte of my stupid redneck uncle with a bucket on his head over the top of the flashlight, which is the single worst UI decision I've ever seen in any game in all history. You try navigating through a dark barn with a flashlight when the flashlight is shining a big black shilloutte of a cartoon face over everything you look at no matter which way you look. I'm sure I could have hunted around for a cosmetics option to remove this once I was back at the house, but it didn't help me when I was already on this mission and had no option to change it.
The breaking point for me was when the game wanted me to find 9 individual scraps of a comic book in a barn and then arrange them in the correct order on a drafting table, which would presumably then assemble them into a finished item I could sell. I found all the pages, I lined them all up on the table in the obviously correct order, but then nothing happened, and there was no other button to press or any way to get them to assemble themselves. It was so clearly the correct order that there's almost no chance this was user error, and I pressed every button on my keyboard/mouse and used every tool trying to get them to work, nothing. It's either bugged, or the UI has completely failed to tell me what to do. And it was such a basic baby's first puzzle level puzzle that I just can't tolerate it not working properly, this is such a basic thing to get right.
Can't reccomend this game, sorry I bought it.
Games with similar themes of collecting and sorting/selling scrap/junk that I would reccomend instead are:
Ship Graveyard Simulator 2, Steamworld Dig, maybe Train Station Renovation, and possibly Recycling Center Simulator which I haven't played but seems pretty similar (and thankfully without the "dirt-poor redneck" aesthetic that is another thing in this game that very quickly lost its charm)
"fun game, great game, one of the best games ever made."

It's rather limited on maps (I've seen the developers in the forums talking they are making more stuff for the game still), but I had a blast taking the time to figure everything out. I wish there was MUCH more content, I feel the items were limited if you went back to explore or get more items for money.
Basically you go to a location, find all the items (and side items, if you wish). Sometimes they have little bid wars or puzzles to help you get the "job item" you were sent to the map to gather. The story is silly and out there, but it is perfect. The DLC felt a bit expensive for what you got, but overall it was a fun experience!
Great to play while watching a show and not to take serious! (Screw you basketball achievement!)
Storyline makes no sense and too much dialogue... either way a good pick if you are a middle aged white woman stuck watching StorageWars
This game has just the right amount of absurd and weird as a framework around the central mechanic of being a picker and reseller. There are some fun puzzle elements that the game gives hints for but doesn't hold your hand, and I like the "assembly" mechanic which inspired me as a player to keep poking around odd places on the level maps to try to find the next part. Both the bidding and the haggling mechanics are easy to learn. Overall, having fun after 4 solid hours of playing.
Not overly complicated and wonderfully corny and is a good game to unwind to and turn off one's racing mind. Has regular updates with special events.
Fun and silly game.
I enjoyed the game for the most part. Certainly not 26 hours worth of fun though, if neutral reviews were a thing I'd highly consider it. Felt a bit unfinished for a game with DLC available to buy.
:)
very fun game with lots of weird things in it
I was really enjoying it until it started crashing and restarting my computer. I'm assuming it's poorly optimized and overheating my laptop.
good game
Almost fun. Almost. It starts out promising, hunting through old barns, upgrading tools, repairing items, and assembling rare items to sell for more. But the gameplay loop gets incredibly tedious, as very little changes to freshen up each level, aside from the easiest "puzzles" ever put into a game. Beyond that, there are bugs galore, and the incredibly juvenile humor gets really, really old after the first few levels.
The shop is easily the worst part of the game. In theory, certain customers have preferences for certain items or types of items. But the RNG of getting a particular customer at a particular item is almost impossible, so it may as well not even be a mechanic. Not to mention the odds of a customer simply disappearing, or no customers spawning at all for a given period. The haggling minigame is beyond annoying. It's a timed slider. Hit at the right time to haggle the price higher (or lower, if buying). Simple but boring, and gets very annoying after more than a few sales in a row.
If you really, really like the idea of hunting for items to sell in a shop, pick it up for a steep discount.
This is a fun game and still gets random updates years after it's release. I appreciate the graphics style which positively differentiates it from other games in the storage dealer genre. It's a little bit of find things and then put them up for sale in your pawnshop but the DLC "Bid Wars" adds more of the traditional storage-container unit bid mechanic (I've done a separate thorough review just on Bid Wars).
good game liked it should of been longer an hate the parkour
