This game is so relaxing, cozy, and beautiful. The narrator has a perfect voice and it's easy to get intrigued by the story taking place. The art style is very cute and vibrant and the puzzles are an appropriate level of challenging. You can also play this game without doing the puzzles at all which I find to be interesting and I may do that the second time around playing this. The perfect puzzle game for someone looking for something non-committal and peaceful to play.
The Last Campfire is a healing puzzle-adventure game. In the game, I guide the cute little creature Ember into the hearts of Forlorn who have lost their path. While it seems like I am saving them, in fact, the process of saving them is also one of self-healing and finding my own path. I think the game can be divided into two parts: the external environment and the inner environment. The external environment refers to the journey of exploring and finding Forlorn, while the inner environment involves entering the souls' hearts and helping them heal. The design of the external environment is logically sound, while the levels in the inner environment are sometimes traditional, but also filled with innovation and creativity. Hope was almost within reach. This game, with its warm art style and creative level design, successfully healed me.
good game with fun puzzles and a fun zen feeling
the most wholesome, beautiful and thought-provoking game. I didn't know what to expect when I first bought it, but I was not disappointed in any way. very fun and satisfying puzzles, extremely relaxing narration/sound effects/music - I highly recommend for anyone looking to play a calming cozy game. absolutely loved it.
Fun puzzles. Not too difficult, so could easily be played with kids. For serious puzzle solvers, I'd recommend going for something harder. I liked the general atmosphere of the game.
Cute little puzzle game, not really challenging but very wholesome.
A cute and charming puzzle-fest. Most of the puzzles were of easy-moderate level making finishing the story pretty accessible. I found the narrative a little confusing but overall it was enjoyable for a game I picked up on sale.
Even as someone who is cynical and doesn't enjoy puzzle games generally, this was an excellent short and enjoyable game. Definitely grab it on any sort of sale.
Wholesome, cozy, really enjoyable and fun to play with
DO NOT be fooled by the cute look of this game, for once the puzzles begin your brain will begin it's own journey!
Absolute masterpiece of a puzzle game, highly recommended for anyone who enjoys problem solving.
Not too challenging puzzles, cute characters, easy to follow story line. Loved it
Better than expected! The Last Campfire was a delightful surprise. I enjoyed every moment from start to finish. Beautifully designed puzzles, a touching story, and a calming atmosphere. The narrator's voice was a standout, adding so much warmth and charm to the experience.
This game is developed by the people that made No Man's Sky, but unlike No Man's Sky at launch, this is really good. It tells a good story about how easy it is to lose yourself and has puzzles to with hope on finding yourself again. This is a special game that doesn't tell the story as strongly as Celeste for an example, but is still a good time. The only issue really is, the achievements are pitiful, they are way to easy.
This is undoubtedly a relatively relaxed puzzle game. Besides a small portion of the later puzzles that may require a guide, most can be completed independently. The warm story background, adorable character designs, philosophical lines, and the pleasant British English narration all add to its charm. Experiencing such a game at such a low discounted price is definitely a great value.
I think, I emotionally invested to this game. 🥹
It had good puzzles and places. It gives this warm and cozy feeling while playing the game. But the ending, was the greatest part of them all. 🤍
I'm happy with how the voice relayed so much emotion while narrating. It really added impact with the game.
It was a worthy buy and investment of time. I hope that you'll continue hoping and soon find home. 🏡
one of the best pieces of media out there!
After the initial desaster of No Man's Sky I was sceptical of what Hello Games would deliver with this but it looked too intriguing to pass up. I am glad I gave it a chance because this game offers such a lovely experience that I own it on multiple platforms now and is now one of my all time favourite games of all time.
Cute puzzle adventure game with inspirational story that makes you reflect upon yourself and other around you. Definitely worth every penny.
What a great, peaceful and engaging game. First thought it might be for small kids... but its gets challenging.
Short Review: The Last Campfire is a narrated story-rich puzzle game with a tight game loop, few but well utilised mechanics, a powerfully emotional message, and an incredibly satisfying ending. The puzzle side of the game is simple enough for non-puzzle veterans but imaginative enough to scratch that puzzle itch for even the most veteran player.
Long Review: Look, I pretty much cried at the end of this game, and it caught me off guard. All through my play through I thought "this is cute medium for a darker message", I thought the voice actress narrating Ember's journey was good and hit a good tone, but that ending man... right in the big feels for sure; and what's wild is that the ending didn't surprise me, it was just delivered incredibly well. Which brings me to the two big words for this game, Delivery and Consistency.
The game's incredibly consistent, with a game loop that does not change throughout all four zones, introducing maybe a handful of mechanics you will continue to reuse all game, but remains imaginative enough throughout the entire experience to not get too stale. This creates a non-existent learning curve and allows the player to be entirely focused on puzzle solving through it's "meta" zone puzzle, "mid-level" map puzzles, and "micro" mini-puzzles.
The other big pillar this game has going for it is the delivery. It is delivered incredibly well from top-to-bottom. The artstyle is unique, striking a cozy-grim hybrid. The gameplay is tight, as I said before, with virtually no clipping or glitches to get in your way (I did run into one issue but I think I sort of glitched my way through a puzzle rather than doing it how the dev's had intended it to be done). The ambient music never steals the spotlight and really does a good job capturing the feel of the area. The characters are really unique, and present their personalities quite well.
The only issue on this one might be cost-to-play time, as despite buying this on sale that playtime of 5-6 hours does seem short but, honestly, I think it was worth that gut-shot of an ending. However, all-in-all I'd give this game a solid 9.5/10, and highly recommend as a must buy to any puzzle game lovers, emotional story game seekers, or those who prefer a more cozy game.
Where can I even start? I have not felt such emotions in completing a story such as this in a long while, playfully written yet holding a profound meaning or lack there of. It has left me feeling as joyous and hopeful as a wandering child yet I also catch myself pondering upon the meaning with a hint of melancholic flavour. Yes, the meaning, it is for you to decide whether you write it down or row with the flow, it feels that it up to you to decide whether it means something or nothing at all. The journey in the story may seem to be directed towards a particular topic but it can be related to a multitude of scenarios. And after all, It is for you to decide what this means to you.
Worth every penny you spend on this one, hopefully their next games will also be beautifully written and directed.

Overall I liked the game: 6/10⭐
❌ The controls felt a bit clunky for keyboard at times (not enough to be a major problem, but it was noticeable in some sections); the puzzles were overall kinda easy (not generally a bad thing but if you're used to puzzle games this one might disappoint you a bit)
✔️ For a puzzle game the plot was very solid; great music and art direction; tried to tackle the topic of death/ the acceptance of it and I think it dealt with this theme very in a nuanced manner; the voice-over was nice (there was just a lot of it)
So if you are searching for a simple yet thought provoking game (if you so choose to focus on the story) I can suggest this with a clear conscience. It's short but sweet and if you mange to nab it when its on sale it's definitely worth giving it a try.
This game was amazing. 12/10. I originally played the demo, then picked up the full game during a Steam sale. The graphics were amazing, the colors, the character depiction - all of it. The music and sound effects were amazing as well. I will say that while I loved the story line, I lost my little brother 2 months ago, and this game had me crying my eyes out for most of it. It wasn't a bad thing, but definitely left me missing him all the more.
Great little game, very short with very basic controls. Personally the story and design are amazing. Puzzles are overall a mediocre rating, Some were super easy while others I sat trying many different solutions,
Great game, good story, fun and engaging mechanics!
Lovely story, quite poetic and inspirational. amazing soundtrack and ambience.
A puzzle adventure game at it's finest. The puzzles not so hard, but need some thinking. Recommend.
Nice atmosphere and story, interesting puzzles without becoming repetitive. The voice actress does a wonderful job. The story is philosophical without making it difficult to understand. A beautiful game!
This game was a steal at the sale price I got it for.
As far as I can tell, it only took about 7hrs to 100% it, and those 7hrs flew by pretty quickly over the weekend.
The tone and presentation is all very...cute and cozy and inviting.
The puzzles never presented me with a true, time-consuming challenge, but they were FUN and never boring--partly due to their variety, partly because the none of the styles of puzzles ever wore out their welcome.
All around, it was great experience for a very casual-yet-engaging playthrough.
I wish the developer could make a part 2 sequel for this wonderful game. This game is a hidden and masterpiece. Two Thumbs Up!!
I just finished this game and am sobbing. 10/10 no notes. Incredible soundtrack, heartwarming and at times devastating story line. Challenging at times but not impossible. This game needs more love.
dope game
This is a wonderful puzzle game with beautiful graphics and a sweet story. The story really sticks with you and makes you feel all the feels. At least it did for me. It's not very long and I was easily able to get 100% achievements. Some of the puzzles are more difficult than others, some are very simple. There is a good variety to keep things interesting. It's worth the price imo. If you like puzzle games I would give this one a shot.
Immersive storyline and great puzzles
This indie game is 10/10
Disclaimer: The game is not suitable for hardcore gamers.
The story is being told very beautifully, I mean the game aesthetic/mood and generally speaking the game itself is just calming and beautiful. Honestly its a masterpiece, better than AAA sloppy writing.
The puzzles are not that hard and it can leave you feeling "wow I'm smart, lets continue the journey".
My only complain about the game is that why bind "X" for dash/sprinting? That's horrible, I can see that the game is being design for consoles only and not PC player in mind, but at least there should be re-bind for custom button.
With that being said, for its big discount price you should 100% check the game for yourself and enjoy the lonely Ember journey.
This game is absolutely incredible! It gave me some very strong feeling with the voice acting that was very chill and calm. The music is very well composed too ! About the gameplay and game design... 100% 200% 1000%!!! Every feedbacks are very well adjusted ! The game does no need tutorial or solution book because everything is under your eyes if you pay attention. I play the whole game once (5h48) by reading, seeking, slacking every area of this game and i loved it !
As a game developper, well done, this game is a pure masterpiece !
If you enjoy peaceful games with lovely music and fun puzzles, this is the game for you! I love this game, I wish there was more to play!
This is a lovely puzzle explorer with a tale about helping others. It is not very long even to 100% complete and absolutely worth the pennies I spent on it.
The story explores the general inertia that can arise from emotions on our way and you get to be that little piece to help them along the way by solving various puzzles to rekindle their spark to move onward.
This game is gorgeous and worth your time. This is a little puzzle game that asks some deep questions. For accessibility, you can turn off most of the puzzles, but I found them to be well-balanced and not too difficult. The story has an element of dealing with mental health, and I appreciate that it shows you some people who don't need or want the protagonist's help in a respectful way. The biggest critique I have of the game is the navigation and camera are quite swingy. I felt like I was earning my sea legs while playing this. This and a couple other minor issues I had are mitigated mostly by the fact that it is not just short, but very tidy.
Tranquil puzzle story game. Not challenging, but enough to hold interest while being relaxing. Goes well with a warm beverage and cozy blanket.
Just under 7 hours to complete this game, and it was relaxing yet intriguing. The voice acting is beautiful and I enjoyed reflecting on the stories of each lost ember's story. The puzzles are repetitive enough to get the hang of but new mechanics are always being introduced at a good pace.
Not sure if I'll come back to this one, but definitely worth a play-through!
This game was brilliant. I got it on a Black Friday deal for $1.59 and I am so glad I did. The soundtrack and visuals transported me to a different world. There was some narration that I didn't expect, but it fit the tone of the game very well. Every puzzle was meaningful, as you helped the other embers in the game find their hope. Each puzzle told an embers story as you solved them. The puzzles all varied in difficulty and brought a diverse experience. I thought that the exploration in this was very innovative. There were a lot of strong messages but the one that stood out to me was that you can't be helped unless you're ready to be. I related a lot to both Ember's who needed help and the wanderer. The ending tugged at my heart strings when Ember and Wanderer finally met up and ended their journey together. I would highly recommend this game if you're looking for a puzzle video game that's both quick and cozy.
Quite good and interesting game for weekend
Visuals and tasks are awesome and the story is super cool
Loved that game
Cute little adventure with a cute bird cult.
I give it *don’t trust the birds* out of 10
I highly recommend buying it, especially for your girlfriend. I couldn’t believe it, but she really liked it and completed all the game’s achievements after trying it, even though I had only played a small part.
A wonderful game with a whimsical and touching premise, fantastic puzzles and perfect pacing. A good game to relax and play on the steamdeck.
This is one of the most beautiful games I've ever played, from a storyline perspective, but also a character building point of view, Embers unite at the campfire, I can't help but relate to the feeling of being forlorn, being hopelessly depressed, lonely, and down-in-the-dumps, but this certainly lit a fire in my heart. The soundtrack, the animations, and the character dialogue really adds to the next level of puzzle solving immersion. The hopelessness of feeling lost in the fog, stuck in the mud, I think the Forest King was metaphoric of impersonator syndrome, someone that feels so down, that they feel the need to craft an alter-ego.
Funny enough (or sad enough), I played this during a low time of emotion, but as all things, we ride the wave, and we will ride it all the way, lighting hope for others along the way. I can't help but bawl my eyes out at certain sections, there were plenty of noteworthy moments, collecting journals, the inner mind dialogue we have with ourselves, I wish I can unplay this game just so I can experience it again for the first time again.
Lovely game about what it means to carry on. The puzzles stayed interesting and never felt too difficult.
I've heard some people dislike the narration but I didn't have any problems with it. It's a very pretty game, I mostly played on my pc but the game looks very nice on the Steam Deck OLED.
There were only a few puzzles where I was a little slow finding the solutions, the puzzle were never frustrating though. If you want a cozy puzzle game that doesn't drag itself out needlessly you can't go wrong with this game.
Pretty little puzzle game. Puzzles are largely pretty straightforwards, most can solved very quickly or with a few attempt, a few may make you scratch your head a bit. One can be temporarily soft-locked if you don't do steps in the exact right order; you can reset the puzzle by returning to puzzle entrance but it was still annoying at the time.
From my understanding of the story, it's about life and death. hope and despair. There's a few interesting side NPCs but many just repeat the same text. Would have been nice if minor NPCs reacted a bit to events a bit more.
Very cute game. The story is cute. Everybody's a they/them. If you want a cozy game with puzzles that aren't too hard, this could be it. Wander through the world helping lost souls by solving puzzles.
Great story to go along with puzzles. Worth the time and effort.
