The forest is full of animals, soldiers and mystical creatures, and neither of them wants you around.

Awesome music and gameplay
Not what i expected.
PROS: Mushrooms and berries kept growing for repeat health pickups.
CONS: Constantly need to repair items has gotten old really quick.
Highly recommend this game! It's challenging and addictive but also beautiful and feels magical. Setting is fresh and interesting.
Good and unique roguelite

I almost like it but resources are so scarce it almost never pays off to fight anything and health is so rare you spend the entire game hounding for it. That could still be fun but the level generator is so unbalanced it feels like there is no point - you dance around when you can, spam the same identical attacks, take colossal damage to yourself and equipment from every fight with nothing to show for it. Maybe later but right now nah.
Love this game. Everything from the graphics to gameplay. Very unique from a rogue type game.
Extremely unbalanced and unpolished at this stage. Looked like a fun little pickup, but do not recommend. Not sure how much content there is since it's currently impossible to progress without cheating in items like showcase video does. Combat is a pain in the butt to avoid since enemies move in real time. many items benefit from being crafted and it's better to just craft new ones rather than use the repair system. It's possible to get stuck in a loop where you need resources to harvest new resources. Some of the later pickaxes cost more resources than they retrieve due to RNG as well since they break for some reason.
Many of the tooltips lag so you need to memorize what each thing does since enemies move in real time and fighting every enemy is a waste of resources. Fighting in general is a waste of resources and more frustrating than fun. An exercise in frustration.
Necken has a easy and intuitive design that is in the category of "easy top pickup hard to master" type deal. Features turnbased gameplay but isn't boring, it's quick 'n' active. It has a short n sweet gameplay loop that if you like games such as binding of isaac I think you'd genuinly should keep a eye on the game as it develops. Features a very different combat system but I find myself having the same _need_ to restart and try again whenever I die.
Things I really like is, setting and artdirection - Maybe I'm based I'm swedish so battling a few caroleans and king moose is just a throwback to going to summercamp as a kid. But legit the game looks good.
intro song is a absolute banger the singer did a great job
The way the game is active means you can outrun and avoid enemies (especially if you are very greedy and try to deforest the entirety of the map, like me). It adds level of strategy that I am excited to see how the dev will add on to in the future!
Sweet little roguelike, looks awesome and is really challenging. looking forward to more content!

A neat little rogue-lite game. The controls and mechanics are simple and intuitive once you get used to them, but still require strategic thinking if you want to survive and progress. Boss fights offer additional challenges and are implemented in a way which fit the rest of the gameplay nicely.
What I liked: the core gameplay loop is solid, graphic style matches the theme, boss fights are well designed, randomization which requires you to adapt to resources and threats available, great moody background music
What I didn't like: resource economy is imbalanced sometimes, there's maybe too little variety in visuals across levels
Bear in mind the game is in early access, so more content may be coming.
Great roguelike with hard but rewarding gameplay and looks like a swedish 8bit fairy tale.
The game is set in swedish folklore and will have you running around in a panic looking for wood and dodging gnomes in no-time.
It does a great job of never letting you feel safe and rich on resources and its a constant scramble for materials and survival. Once you've chopped all the wood on the level, thats what you have to work with, so inventory management is key. And, as with all roguelikes, once you die, youre back to (almost) square one.
During your sessions you collect upgrades which you can equip at the start of your session in order to gain a pemanent buff to help you get past the karoleans, wildlife and mythical creatures.
10/10 would panic again!
Necken really captures the atmosphere of walking in a nordic forest surrounded by mythical creatures (not that I have done it). The enemies are different from each other; some of them rush after you directly when they see you and some just stand there, menacingly...
The bosses are different from each other and if you can't manage everything health, weapon durability, shield durability and so on you are probably gonna have a hard time.
Overall it's a great game and even though it's under development I still recommend it for anyone whose inte Roguelikes or just pixel games in general.
Sold me on rougelike
This is the first rougelike game I've really played and must say it got me hooked. Love the dark nordic atmosphere and the crafting/searching for materials aspects of the game.

I've played this game an hour and with that time I've really started to love this games.
Controls
The Controls are simple and quick the get into.
They are cleverly placed and comfortable to use.
They leave no strain on wrist and the only downside are that they are currently fixed.
Not that I see any need to change any.
Gameplay
The instant and started playing I know what to do and how to do it.
It's easy at first but quickly becomes challenging, just like a roguelike should.
So: easy to learn, hard to master.
Graphics
Gorgeous graphics that are just perfect for the setting.
You can easily see what is what and how they function.
Great pixel-art that really help you keep track on your surroundings.
Story
Seeing how I just started as I'm writing, I'll come back to this....but the setting is just great.
Easy to get into the feeling of walking in a thick Scandinavian forest.
Final: 10/10 would hunt down Karoliners again.
