Started playing this game around 2022 randomly and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. The storytelling the character design is just amazing! So sad the DLC idea got scrapped but still great nonetheless.

Authentic romance game

It is a beautiful game. Plain and simple. A game when you play it makes you feel all warm and giddy..then get embarrassed about it even if you're playing alone.

Gorgeous music, amazing art style and voice acting, a world worth exploring and learning as well as the characters stories themselves! I mean come onnnn their interactions together are also just adorable.

Combat is a hit or miss- A shame we cant choose WHAT we target as it kinda just picks for you..which in a game about taking out certain key enemies first (and for an achievement of not going down) It royally sucks.

Creating good food for bufffs, energy, health and even love interaction points is a big plus too. All in all I TRULY think this game deserved WAYYY more attention.

Haven is a game i kind of bought without thinking too much about it when i was looking for a cool coop game to play with my partner. And boy did i not expect to enjoy it nearly this much. The art direction is beautiful, the story is incredible and made me tear up at least once or twice. The characters are incredibly loveable, the environment is intriguing and the gameplay is quite fun, so much so i found myself playing it alone. A very good and chill game to relax with, be it alone or with a partner

I love this game so much that I bought it twice. The first time was on my Switch and when I finally got a PC I went and got it again and am very glad I did. I can see even more details of the Nest and I just love this cute little love story. I chose the 2 women and it warms my little gay heart to see such a wholesome and cozy little life they have together in their little nest on this isolated "planet" with cute little animals. It's also 100% voice acted and the soundtrack is stellar. The art isn't complex but it's gorgeously simple. The writing is also phenomenal. It's just a really great little cozy short story. The only downside I encountered was I wish there was a walking speed that's somewhere between the current snail's pace walk and the blasting off. I also sort of wish I had more ability to garden but I understand that veers into farming sim territory which this game isn't really. I still love it as it is. I'm currently playing it for the third time and I'm still not sick of it.

Man, I remember buying this game all the way back in 2020/2021 and realized I never did a review! I LOVE this game- very pretty, feels pretty nice to control (though if you get motion sick it may trigger some nausea with how the camera moves). I nearly crapped myself when I first saw the giant creature thing (forgot what it's called) and I like the simple cooking aspect. Also, the banter between these two was quite cute!

Phenomenal game. You don't see couples like this in videogames very often. It's incredibly refreshing, the worldbuilding is excellent and the characters have incredible chemistry.

Amazing game. Touching and engaging story line, interesting gaming mechanic that stays fun for most of the game, great visual design and soundtrack. Would definitely recommend.

Online co-op isn't in the game. You literally cannot play it with your significant other unless you have them right next to you, or you're using Steam Remote Play. Unfortunately, using Steam Remote Play causes the game to crash.

Is it really that hard to make a functional co-op system...for a co-op game?

I bought it during the “season of pride 2024” sale, but I was ultimately reminded about this gem when I stumbled across the couples update trailer on the forums and after having seen it I knew I’d to buy it, as I could now ship Kay (male) and Yu (male) and actually give a damn about the story!

[i]* incels are just looking for an excuse to hate on lgbt, be it gay couples or transwomen, but they seem to be okay with yuri, because they’ve got milkers and a punani, it’s very immature and they also seem to ignore the fact that it’s not forced and entirely optional, but anything promoting freedom and liberty (in a game about “love, rebellion, and freedom”) must be a conspiracy in their mind, because they only want it for themselves...

I'm a little mixed on this one. I've been playing it with my partner on his account (we share Steam libraries) and it's a very feel good game, pretty visuals, nice voice acting, the characters are a very cute couple and we liked that you have multiple options for their genders.

So we're enjoying it for the cutesy relationship stuff and the relaxing gameplay, but we both agree that playing it alone would be very boring. Nothing is really happening, the gameplay is basically just following lines through the world and collecting some items, with some very basic turn-based combat thrown in occasionally.

Plus the character interactions can be a bit frustrating sometimes, when you only have the option to basically have an argument. For a game that's focused around a couple eloping to a strange world together, they bicker an awful lot.

So it's a soft recommend from me, but I'd only suggest playing it with a significant other.

Haven is a slice of life game you would play when you need to cool off from some game or anime with a heavy story. Characters chemistry are nice. Combat is decent but gets tedious. There are a optional boss battles. The premise of the story is interesting and there are interesting sub plots but the game does not delve on the them. Because of that the endings felt underwhelming. If you remove all tedious elements game has content of 6 hours and I finished the game at 12 hours, Achievement hunt took 8 hours because some of them are random. Overall a decent game.

The game is beautiful, The story is simple, The couple has great chemistry, but there is one thing holding this game back and it's the combat. It's not about the difficulty albeit pretty easy, but it's not engaging enough and started to feel like a chore considering the length of this game. There's also the world building that felt lacking but it also leaves it open for a sequel so I think it's fine. Overall, it's a 7.5/10 with combat and rust cleaning deducting most of the points.

I was playing this for 2 hrs, not knowing it requires a romantic partner to begin with. I'm soo lonely.

I was really looking forward to play this with my significant other but the 'creative' control scheme and the realisation that only one of us gets to control the locomotion was kind of a huge bummer. I'm pretty sure it has a good story as a lot of reviews have said but - IT'S REALLY NOT THAT HARD TO MAKE A PROPER COUCH CO-OP CONTROL SCHEME GUYS.

Okay....I don't really know where to start with this so I'm going to start with the gameplay.

Gameplay: It's fun for the most part the movement system is fun to use, if not a bit wonky from time to time, but that is forgivable with how it makes you feel surfing across the land doing tricks as you jump from high places and grind along floating lines of power. (I do wish you had some control of your tricks but hay it is what it is)

Story: Story is cute as you play through the came there are fun little interactions between the two lovers that make you smile. The relationship your building as you play and make choices feels alive and I appreciate this.

Endings (NO SPOILERS): So this game has the classic Good/Bad ending setup but this is why I felt the need to wright this review and this is also why this review will get a bit personal. IO have recently been dealing with depression, and one of the ways I deal with that is romance Games, Movies, Anime, Books, Ect. The romance and generally GOOD feelings in them help pull me out of the emotions and immerse me in better ones. That's why I picked up this game up because I was (and unfortunately still am) in a pretty bad spot with my emotions at the time. Playing through the game I thought I was going to get what I was looking for Will the fun little interactions and good interactions between the two lovers making me feel better as I played. Now when I play games with multiple ending I tend to go for the bad ending first so I can reload a save and end on a good note and the good ending tends to be the last bit I know to help pull me out of whatever dark place I was in...Unfortunately the "Bad Ending" I thought I chose ended up being a VARY bitter sweet "Good Ending" instead. Now this last part was a bad decision on my end so my bad but after finding out what the good ending was I jumped and broke my rule and looked up the alternate ending and It was so bad that it (pulse having just lost that good feeling lifeline I was hoping for) made me almost physically ill. If your playing this game for the same reasons I was pleas turn back until your in a better place. If your not like me or are feeling better about your situation than pleas play the game and form your own opinion. As at the end of the day we are all different and will inevitably experience things differently as some my find these endings just fine.

TLDR: Game was fun but a little janky and the story was fun and cute until both the endings ruined it for me personally.

This game is really cute! The 3d models are a little weird but that doesn’t affect the game play in anyway.

Amazing game that covers a nice story. The game doesn't have difficult mechanics and a nice change to the fast pace shooters we see today.

I absolutely recommend this title and look forward to future projects from this developer.

Very cool game! I wanna point out features I liked the most.

1. Chemistry. Our couple very lovey-dovey, but not ideal. They can fight or disagree with something. It looks so natural and I love it.

2. Map awareness. No pointers, no "to do list". You got a ship to repair, several islands - go and explore. Nothing lead you or show the way. That's kinda old school.

UPD: Yeah, later you can craft map, but still... xD

Came for danger, stayed for healthy relationship simulator. The art and music are of course phenomenal, but the character interaction and relatability was shockingly good. The actual plot and gameplay of Haven was a bit bland and predictable, but I think the designers nailed what they were going for. Definitely recommend.

Recently Replayed the game after a long time so I'll make two paragraphs, one for my preliminary experience and the other for returning experience.

I don't remember why I bought that game, perhaps I was bored, looking for co-op games, or maybe just looking for a good RPG and i found this game. It didn't look to deep from the screenshots and videos so If i didn't enjoy it I would just refund it. At first the characters didn't really mesh much to me, but that was easily do to not having the background experience. All I knew was that they were running from a system that kept them trapped in a specific group parings. As I playied the game more I started playing for the story more than the actual game play. The story felt real, like these are real people having real troubles in their life's. Not some clingy visual novel wish fulfillment crap. Yeah the gameplay is boring, Co-Op is just one person leading and the other being dragged along, yeah the combat is just doing a pattern over and over again. But that didn't matter to me anymore. I enjoyed these characters, and every choice I made with these characters made me FEEL something. It was one of the only games that actually made me reflect on my own relationships and caused me to slightly change myself to be a better partner. While it isn't a good GAME, is a a great EXPERIENCE that you should atleast give a try.


Coming back to the game after a few years, while all of my comments are mostly the same. I did figured that the Co-op "Issue" is a bit more in-depth than when I was first playing solo. Since when I was playing solo, I never really had to give up control, the characters always went wherever I wanted them to go. But life never works like that, sometimes you will have to let your partner lead when they wish to. What relationship do you know where only one person is always in control and the other person simply just follows behind them all the time. Being a leader takes alot of work and if you are always leading all the time. At some point you will want to take a break. In fairness most I wouldn't expect anyone to think of a game with a Co-op tag would be a metaphor of how relationships works in the game and IRL. I'm not going to "Not Recommend" this game over something as small as that.

Goated soundtrack and underrated game. Sit back and relax when playing this. A cool world filled with fun creatures, and fun unique game play. Love story might be cheesy, but I like that *%$!

I am very ambivalent about this game.

The plot isn't very good. There are many plot paths that are cut abruptly and never talked about again. There are many parts that raise many questions for me but I'll leave them unmentioned here because I want to keep the review spoiler free.

Haven is all about interactions between the two characters. And at the start of the game I didn't believe in the relationship. It just felt off. Maybe because you're introduced to the characters when they love each other and you're not shown any backstory of their relationship. Over time I started feeling much warmer towards the pair.

Gameplay isn't good either. The exploration is bad. It is just about traversing islands which are all the same. Sometimes you need to take a glowing rail to reach a higher altitude. Wowie. There are only four location types and you spend 80% of the time exploring only one type which gets stale really fast.

Progression only affects numbers so there's no reason to discuss it. There are no customization of any game segments either.

The worst part of Haven is the combat system. It's extremely simple and static. And if you're especially dull like me and decide to clear out each island in the game, you're forced to finish every fight on it. I highly do not recommend doing it because it's pointless and running away from enemies will prove to make your game experience much better.

Soundtrack is great. I only learned of the game (and sequentially bought it) because I saw one of my favorite music artist in the genre Danger work on it. And the soundtrack is fantastic. At first I didn't think it fit the game that well, but after an hour I understood that I'd drop the game if it was not for it. The score is definitely the strongest part of the game for me. Voice acting is great too.

And personally, this game raised some thoughts in my head about what I would like to have in my relationship if I'll ever get in one again. And generally showed that there can be this level of trust between people. It's obvious for normal people, but was important to be reminded for me.

Nevertheless, I would not recommend this game unless you really want to submerge into detail of the relationship of Yu and Kay. Although the game is quite unique in its genre, so if you'd tried everything, maybe this one will be new experience for you.

A nice change of pace, enjoyed the music , art, characters and story

Beautiful game. I would give it a perfect score if it felt a little more like the couple had more lesbian specific dialogue. As it was, I could see through the cracks too often that Kay was a default man. It is a little heartbreaking, really, because I felt almost seen. Like my existence, for once, was actually considered. All they needed was a lesbian writer to contribute a few lines of dialogue that was specific to lesbians and it would be the perfect game.

A beautiful journey with two loveable main characters.
It's not really strong on gameplay or choices, but it's a wonderful story you can enjoy alone or with your partner.
The characters and their relationship are the strong point of the game, underscored by beautiful & artistic vistas you can glide through and a great musical score.

You won't be challanged in the gameplay, but it's the kind of game that makes you sad, smile and laugh and gives you an experience you'll look back at fondly.

It's a great cute as hecc game that has a unique difficulty selector depending on your relationship status. Bein single is dark souls difficulty...

A cozy game with story content more than an action-adventure as it's tagged on the store at present. The story is great and builds up right until the end, there is some combat and such but it is very basic and clearly not the focal point of the game, which is on the characters along and their relationship.

This is one of my all time favorite games -- I had played it in COVID and Haven was a beautiful world to escape to during that time. I regularly cycle through the OST too. It definitely has the set plot, the map was a lot to navigate but once that becomes easier in the game, it's super well paced and enjoyable for a casual experience. I loved the lore, story, and design so much -- seriously the perfect game for me.
