Beautiful, Immersive game world always leaves you longing to return. P.S. they seem to have fixed buggy issues that had rendered this installment unplayable, but is now fully operational.
It is the best game i have ever played The graphics are so good the attention to detail is so insanely good that i even once saw a dog peeing !!!!!!!
So after being dissapointed with AC Unity's disastrous storytelling, repetitive gameplay I decided to give the $ 12.00 assasins creed origins gold edition sale a try, and what I am met with is disastrous storytelling, repetitive gameplay an absolutely obsolete fighting system . Story got better until the beginning of the third act (you know when there's actual assassins creed origins stuff being discussed) the world is beautiful , yes but most of it is just plain desert ( why do you need that much barren land anyway) the loot sytem is ridiculous you get obsolete items almost everytime and since i got gold edition legendary items were handed to me right away , stealth is rubbish it is completely placed apart and replaced by a terrible combat system. Side quests are terrible and repetitive I would give this game a 3/10 considering i got it for 12.00 , full priced its just a 0/10
This game saved the franchise for me. Also the first game in which I did so many side activities, all were very fun. 9/10.
The story is a slog and the combat is clunky. I've skipped every cinematic because they just go on and on about nothing.
Don't get me started on the sad in-game shop.
Really good game, graphics are really good, gameplay is really nice,
Bad things: it's really unoptimized, i have an rx7800xt and it constantly runs on 100% usage
In general: 95/100
lovely game, great story, great characters.
Amazing game ruined by microtransactions (oh and they're very expensive too...pffft)
good game, really good graphics for smaller storage space.
did more parkour with the camel than with bayek
10/10 would jump again from a 2km mountain with my camel and fly like Senu
came back to this one after a couple years and was instantly reminded why i don't buy ubisoft games anymore... just pirate the game you'll have an easier time with that than uplay.
LOL @ Ubisoft login and launcher, just horrendous experience overall, from trouble logging in (why do I need to log in to play a game I bought on steam??), to random launcher caused crashes, to server outages that prevent me from playing?
What the hell! Nothing is getting saved in this game. Game is not saving any progress or accomplishments at all!
It's quite clear that this is a big-budget game—one where the developers invested more money than heart. Visually, the game is impressive and the gameplay is mostly solid. The world is vast, with a reasonable amount of mostly empty desert (less than in real life, and scaled down appropriately for the game). There's definitely a lot to do, including some immersive side quests. A completionist could spend a very long time in this world. However, if the game doesn't capture your interest early on, it can quickly start to feel like a chore.
Issues I encountered:
* Clunky and unintuitive melee combat
* Poor level progression: the gap between levels is massive—even more so than in typical fantasy RPGs. When weapon levels are factored in, being just two levels below an enemy can feel insurmountable. That might make some sense in a fantasy setting, but here it feels especially out of place.
* Main quest is locked behind high level requirements
* In-app purchases for cosmetics and "time-savers" (in-game currency)
* Ubisoft Connect is mandatory
* Upgrading gear (essentially just scaling it to your character level) costs the same as buying new gear
* I sniped the crocodile antagonist, but the Siwa girl who fought beside me in the arena remained loyal to her for some reason—forcing me to kill her
* Despite the high budget, flashy moves, and realistic graphics/physics, the gore is laughably unrealistic. A heavy sword to the face results in a smear of unrealistic looking blood.
I'm glad I bought the game at a significant discount. I’d only recommend picking it up if you're really into ancient Egypt or if what you felt was missing in previous Assassin’s Creed titles was fantasy RPG-style level progression and looting.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10 – A Masterpiece Reborn
This isn't just another Assassin's Creed game. Origins is the rebirth of the franchise. It has one of the strongest stories in the entire series, with characters that feel real, driven by emotion and purpose. Bayek is a standout protagonist, and his personal journey is powerful and believable.
The setting is stunning. Ancient Egypt feels alive and fully immersive. From deserts to cities to tombs, the world design is some of the best Ubisoft has ever done.
Combat is completely reworked and finally feels like a proper action RPG. There's a good balance between story, side quests, exploration, and progression.
If you gave up on Assassin's Creed before, this is the one worth returning for.
Did also 67/67 achievements.
Origins has a good mix of both the traditional parts of the Franchise and the expansion into the RPG type games. As someone who isn't as invested into the franchise, its good for people like myself who simply want to explore the historical setting, in this case, Egypt in the times of Greek and Roman rule. The story is quite interesting but can be quite time consuming in regards to advancing further in. Sadly Eagle vision isn't in this game. Overall its pretty good. 👍
Assassin’s Creed Origins is a breathtaking journey into ancient Egypt, beautifully reimagined with a fresh take on the series. The world is absolutely massive and stunningly detailed—from the bustling streets of Alexandria to the mysterious pyramids of Giza.
The story of Bayek is emotional, engaging, and deeply personal. His transformation from a Medjay to the founder of the Assassin Brotherhood is compelling, and the characters around him are equally well-written. The voice acting and soundtrack are top-notch and really pull you into the world.
Gameplay-wise, Origins introduces a more RPG-style combat system that feels weighty and challenging. Exploring tombs, solving ancient mysteries, and hunting down targets never gets old. The leveling system and gear upgrades add a satisfying progression.
Visually, this game is a masterpiece. Even years after release, it holds up incredibly well with realistic lighting, detailed textures, and smooth animations. The photo mode is a great addition for capturing Egypt’s beauty.
Pros:
• Vast open world with diverse environments
• Engaging main story and side quests
• Deep combat and RPG elements
• Gorgeous visuals and immersive sound design
Cons:
• Some side quests can feel repetitive
• Occasional bugs/glitches (though nothing game-breaking)
Rating: 9/10 – A must-play for fans of open-world games and history lovers. Origins isn’t just a reboot; it’s a rebirth of the Assassin’s Creed franchise.
Assassin's Creed Origins is a fantastic addition to the series. It balances storytelling, exploration, and engaging gameplay in a way that kept me coming back for more. Whether you're a long-time fan of the franchise or new to it, I highly recommend giving this game a try!
My first ever ac game and i loved it, loved it to the point where im about to platinum it, my only negative review is that the enemies can cancel my attacks at certain times, but i cant cancel theirs, other than that i'd recommend this game.
It took me a long time to get used to the new RPG style, but behind the terrifying change was one of the best stories in the franchise.
I'd say this is a worthy start to a new life of the Assassin's Creed franchise.
Pretty standard game system similar to that in the game Shadow of Mordor. Sniping enemies with the predator bow is pretty fun. The assassination trigger could be smoother. The different melee combat forms could be more visually distinctive. I like how massive and full of mysteries the world feels, as well as the little details in the village day-to-day activities.
This is the first AC game I am playing. The prologue really just throws you in without explaining anything storywise and the cutscenes and dialogue are a little hard to follow without being familiar with Egyptian names. But there is enough repetition of information outside of the cutscenes for me to understand what is going on. The story itself, while tragic, doesn't seem to be anything too special yet. TBD. The mysteries and clues I found when leaving the animus are far more captivating than Bayek's revenge story. I have no idea what the villains' motivations are yet, but there is room to be surprised.
I really tried to enjoy it but the quest, story line are very boring. After playing elden ring rdr2 I guess my standards for open world games have increased
The plot and gameplay are mid. The level system introduced in this game, at least for me, feels really forced and breaks the immersion. Any enemy a few levels below you is way too easy, and any enemy a few levels above is way too hard. Stealth also lost a lot of its value, since you can only instakill enemies close to your level—at which point you could just fight them head-on, so why bother staying hidden?
One of the best game I've played. The graphic, characters, story, combat system, and history is great. I have not played Assassin's Creed for so long since Ezio Auditore, but this game wanna make me explore another assassin's creed game.
Thank you Ubisoft for this wonderful experience.
Do I recommend it? Absolutely.
Assassin’s Creed Origins is my second favorite in the entire saga. It’s a true rebirth of the franchise, and it nailed almost everything.
PROS:
Egypt looks STUNNING. From deserts to cities, every place feels alive and worth exploring.
Bayek is one of the best protagonists in the series, emotional, strong, and believable.
The combat system is pretty good. More challenging.
The world is massive, full of secrets, tombs, and side quests.
The story is deep and emotional, especially if you’re into the origins of the Brotherhood.
CONS:
The level scaling can get a bit annoying if you're under leveled.
Some side quests are repetitive after a while.
There are a lot of weapons and things like that, personally i don't enjoy them but if u like rpg then u'll be happy
CONCLUSION:
9.5/10 – An incredible journey through ancient Egypt. If you love open world RPGs or Assassin’s Creed, this one is a must play.
Liked the direction the franchise took by going rpg route. Wish they would listen to the community and steer from controversy . Despite that the game is fun to play very open, i use to compare this game to Assassins creed Breath of the Desert by how it opened up and changed the formula like Breath of the wild.
base game is perfect to the last bits of side quests and question marks, no more of those generative quests we had in Odyssey. everything just works perfectly!
the story is great and there is actually a character development for Bayek and his journey, not as good as Ezio but good enough for me to get excited for it.
there's also something uncanny about how Ubisoft made ancient Egypt that good, all the landmarks and the discovery mode is something out of this world.
dlc 1 (hidden ones) : just like the rest of the game, more content and pretty map and tons of great quests.
dlc 2 (mummies) : the maps especially the after life are so beautiful but the boss fights are so annoying and that's for 2 reasons :
1.the gameplay is bad, so bad! even if you get all the perfect and maxed lvl gear it still ruins the immersion of being godlike and powerful with that awful gameplay and you can feel this in every boss fight.
2.this one is also gameplay related. the bosses in this dlc have hyper armor for every move and there's no way to stagger them thus makes fighting with them frustrating.
8.5/10
Akhirnyaaa complete setelah 170+ jam.
Suwun Ubisoft !
game is good
the fact that i need ubisoft launcher to play is not good
As the first of the "modern trilogy" of Assassin Creed games, this one definitely plays well. I've heard lots of complaints of the more recent Ubisoft games starting from Odyssey being very bloated, but Origins does not Suffer from this problem. It took around 80 hours to get all achievements in this (including both DLC) and my time did not feel wasted at all.
The Ancient Egypt setting is awesome, exploring the Pyramids, Alexandra and all the Egyptian and even Greek Architecture due to the time setting (Cleopatra's reign just before Egypt's fall to Rome) sets a gorgeous world and map to explore, that is backed by a great story led by a great performance from the voice actor of Bayek. The discovery tour to learn more about how Egyptians actually lived back in that era is an extremely cool and educational feature.
Solid 8/10 game.
I loved the game. Just back into Assassin's Creed after not playingj forever. Game play was seemless, was a little frustrating with the controls. I play on the Laptop. So the touchpad was wonky at times. I switched some of the buttons around to help. Was tough rotating the constellations and sometimes Bayek would switch from shooting arrows to a sword combination out of the blue.
DLCs were fun, Hidden Ones was a little brief. Could have added a little more there. All in all, there was tonnes to enjoy and explore. 10/10
Mediocre at best. Major differences in combat, very little free running/parkour elements, many changes to game mechanics. It's lost most of what made assassin's creed unique and enjoyable, now it's trying to be closer to Witcher and other RPGs to which it loses badly.
At least the plot and environment is interesting.
Typical Ubislop
Had this game in library for long but could not make myself to play it. Finally after playing I felt nothing special. It's mid like all other modern Assassin's Creed games. Main story is garbage, side quests are fetch, kill or follow. I was annoyed by the end of the story and finished it as soon as possible. But I gotta admit, Egypt looks damn beautiful, though the map feels awfully empty. There is a "?" in every centimetre, which makes me feel like I am playing a checklist game. I don't get why this game has very positive review on steam, maybe the players who play only AC nowadays have low expectations, but then who am I to blame? Do not recommend. 4/10
Alright, so after my epic tour of ancient Egypt in Assassin’s Creed Origins, I’ve got to say, my feelings are about as mixed as a poorly made cocktail, but mostly leaning towards "I'd order another round." Starting way back with the original Assassin’s Creed, which felt like trying to parkour in a straightjacket, to this sprawling adventure, it's been quite the journey.
This time around, Egypt is your playground, and boy, is it a looker! Seriously, stepping into this world is like walking into a history book that someone spilled a whole lot of gorgeous paint on. Every temple, every dusty road, it’s all so detailed, you almost expect a mummy to pop out and ask for directions. The combat got a fancy upgrade too. Remember just mashing buttons and hoping for the best in the old games? Well, now you actually have to think a bit, which is a nice change, even if my brain sometimes feels like it’s still stuck in the button-mashing era. Resource management is also a thing now, so you'll be running around collecting bits and bobs like a digital hoarder, but hey, at least those upgrades feel like they actually do something.
Of course, it’s not all sunshine and pyramids. Sometimes the story felt like it was moving slower than a snail in molasses, and leveling up could be a bit of a drag. It's like the game was saying, "Sure, go save the world, but first, could you maybe collect 50 gazelle hides?" And the modern-day storyline? Honestly, it felt like that awkward cousin who shows up at every family gathering but no one really knows what to do with them.
But despite those little hiccups, the good stuff in Origins really shines brighter than a desert sun. Running around ancient Egypt, getting into strategic fights, and snapping photos of the ridiculously beautiful scenery with the game’s fancy photo mode made for a pretty awesome experience. Even with a few things that didn’t quite click, I’d still say diving into Assassin’s Creed Origins is more fun than finding a hidden treasure in a tomb (and way less dusty).
Rating: 8.5/10
8/10 A Tier Games.
One of the best Assasin's Creed games that sets itself apart from bunch of mediocre games from the IP, and Bayek is one of the best protagonist in AC and video games history.
I guess it was interesting when it released but right now this game is boring for me. There are moments when I like Bayer, when he shows his emotions and moments when canonical assasins's creed music sound with great speeches but there is so small amount of time of such intereseting content

AC: Origins was the game that pushed the series into a new direction after people were getting tired of yearly releases that all felt similar to play. In some ways, it succeeded, in others, it didn't, but overall it's a great game that I enjoyed enough to play all its DLCs and hunt down all achievements.
The game sends you to Ptolemaic Egypt, where you play as Bayek, a guardian of the country who ends up founding the precursor of what would later become the Assassin order. Your journey leads you from Greek cities like Alexandria to ancient Egyptian religious centers like Memphis and Krokodilopolis. The world design is excellent, you get to visit many historically important locations and they're all gorgeous to look at, and you can climb all the way to the top of every building in good old Assassin's Creed fashion.
The variety of environments is great. Greek cities, ancient Egyptian temples, valleys of ruined monuments, and later in the game Roman forts as Caesar establishes a foothold. The landscapes are just as varied as the architecture: the fertile floodplains of the Nile, rocky and sandy deserts, forested hills, grand mountains.
Exploration is the game's greatest strength. In a surprising move for an Ubisoft game, it's actually very playable without markers. I played through the entire game with the interface set to minimal, only using quest markers when I couldn't find a quest location myself. Most questgivers will give you simple directions where you need to go, which lets you solve the quests without having to follow markers. Sometimes there are tracks in the sand to follow, and other visual indicators like that. I'd say about 70% of the game's quests can be solved entirely without markers, the rest is vague enough that you'll need to check them - still, a pretty good track record for a modern AAA game.
Speaking of quests, the writing of the side quests is pretty solid, and many quests are inspired by actual historic practices of ancient Egypt. Several quests are related to mummies, one even has you investigate mummies that have been improperly preserved and you need to find the person at fault. The only problem is that the quests are completely linear and can't be sequence broken. If a quest requires you to kill an officer in a fort, that officer will only spawn once you accept the quest. If you already cleared the fort before, the officer wasn't there yet, so you have to go back and clear it again. The silliest example was a quest where I had to retrieve an ancient artifact from a pyramid. I had already been through the pyramids and looted all the treasure, but the one quest-specific chest only spawned after I took the quest, so I had to return into an already looted dungeon to open a chest that hadn't been there before. It's just silly.
Now for the questionable parts: the biggest difference to older AC titles is the introduction of "RPG elements". I'm putting those in quotation marks because it isn't a real RPG at all - in fact, it's the greatest misunderstanding of what an RPG should be that I have ever seen. There are experience points, levelups, and a skill tree, but the implementation has several problems. While the skill tree has some interesting choices that can change your playstyle, leveling up itself is designed in the worst way possible. Being higher level inherently raises your damage and health by a significant amount, and enemies who outlevel you are pretty much unkillable HP sponges. The main RPG mechanic of this game is that numbers get bigger as you level up, and tremendously so. The biggest problem is that unless you have the interface set to full (which I didn't, as I prefer playing with an unobtrusive minimal interface) you can't tell what level an enemy is, so you'll attempt to fight a bunch of soldiers and figure out they're ten levels higher than you by landing thirty hits barely dealing damage, then they kill you in a single strike. Levels are the most important stat in this game, far more important than any of the skills you invest points into, or any of the equipment you can upgrade.
The level system really is the game's greatest drawback. While I like RPGs that have zones of different levels, where you enter a dungeon that's too hard for you so you make a note to return later when you're stronger, I don't like it when levels give inherent bonuses to a character. I had the same problem with Divinity: Original Sin, where being just a few levels higher than any given enemy would make them trivial to defeat, while being just a few levels lower would make them almost impossible. Same here. To make things worse, your hidden blade now deals "assassination damage" and if the enemy has too many hitpoints, your stealth attack won't be an insta-kill, which makes it completely impossible to even attempt a stealth approach for high level enemy encampments.
The way levels work is that each province has a level zone: one province might be level 15 to 20, another might be 30 to 35, so all enemies in there will be in that level range - with a few exceptions of higher level forts in low level regions. There is no visual difference between a level 3 and a level 30 enemy, it's literally just numbers. They have the same character model, same equipment, same behavior. It's such a waste of potential because the game does have different enemy types in different regions, and later in the game Romans arrive who wear different armor to the local Hellenistic military. It would have worked much better to have all Greeks be of the same strength, and the Romans of higher strength, but alas. Strength is solely determined by numbers. Such a massive waste of what is actually a decent RPG system, because many of the skills in the skill tree are genuinely fun to unlock, giving you some wonderful horizontal character development rather than just dumb vertical number go up. Particularly the utility skills you can unlock are fun to play with (poison darts, fire bombs, etc).
Combat is also different from the earlier AC games, now playing much more like an action RPG. You got regular and heavy attacks, can parry enemy strikes, dodge out of the way - it almost feels inspired by Dark Souls style combat. Overall the combat is solid enough to be fun, but of course not quite at the level of a proper soulslike. I prefer the counter-based combat of the older games, but this is by no means bad. Except when you get into a boss fight. Those are terrible and feel completely out of place in an Assassin's Creed game.
Despite these issues, it's a very enjoyable game, particularly for the exploration. There's a lot of detail and many cool things to discover. A nice little bonus is the Discovery Tour, which gives you guided tours explaining the history of the places in the game. It's quite wonderful, and can be used as a genuine educational tool. I was a huge fan of ancient Egypt as a kid, and would have loved this. If you have kids and want to get them interested in history, this Discovery Tour mode is perfect for that.
If you don't mind the horrible "RPG system" bloat, I can thoroughly recommend this game. Plenty of content, gorgeous environments, fun stealth, decent combat, only marred by a flawed leveling system.
This game has two major content DLCs, which I reviewed here (The Hidden Ones) and here (Curse of the Pharaohs).
"I am fine with this. I am not a father anymore. I am not a husband. I am not a Medjay. I am a Hidden One."

First Assassin's Creed Game, let's go! Even though chronologically Odyssey is supposed to be the first, starting from Origins was a good decision for me. The reason is simply because I love Egypt and its history, and to add the cherry on top, Origins also has Greek and Roman (which histories I also really love) intertwined in the story. The Gameplay is pretty good in my opinion, but the lack of button for running kinda annoyed me a little bit. The Environment and how you climb/parkour are intuitively designed, so I rarely had any difficulty in exploring the nook and cranny of the world. The Combat is fine, and the Stealth is also fine... Like, I didn't actually expect much and I got just enough to familiarize myself with how Assassin's Creed Game works. The Story is really good, and I also learned a lot of the History of Egypt (including the ancient ones).
The overall Experience is okay, not that great but also not bad. It's just that sometimes I found things that made the Game feel "not expensive enough". Like for example, the Optimization for the Game Performance (though pretty rare) was sometimes pretty bad. I'm saying this because I've played other AAA Games with better Performance in the same PC/Laptop, not to mention some of the Games were from older times. I think I want to try Odyssey next, but we'll see. As this is a more "recent" Title of Assassin's Creed, I am kind of afraid to play the older ones (like Black Flag, or especially the first one), because the Gameplay might most likely feel more clunky than Origins. But hey, there's nothing wrong in trying.

I'm gonna give this Game an "Assassin" out of "The Hidden One".
This is the first of the AC games which started the whole shift from the original AC style to more open world rpg type. It is the base on which the future games are based on. Tbh, even though it is the start of this kind in AC, I like it most among the others. The next 2 games were just filled with filler slop, even this game is to some extent, but the gameplay more than makes up for it. Absolutely stunning open world, plenty of different biomes, minute attention to details, fun stealth, plenty of engaging new mechanics and skills, decent story, and lots to do. The DLCs are also pretty damn good. Especially the after worlds of the dead, such beautiful environment. I have no complaints about AC origins whatsoever. Possibly my favorite AC game, at least top 3 I would say.
Now for some of the stuff I don't like. It's not about the game but the shitty ubisoft connect.
Pretty much every ubisoft game I own, I have them on both platforms. Ubisoft connect & Steam coz ubi always delayed releasing them on steam. I got them on steam to complete my collections and when they added steam achievements for most of their games. And like all their games, the actual total playtime doesn't carry over to steam from ubisoft connect. Which is absolutely infuriating. More often than not, the save files from ubi to steam aren't the up to date ones either. The best and most useless solution I found to fixing that is installing the same game from both ubisoft connect and steam. Start the game from ubi first just to make sure that you have your saves files up to your most recent play through. Then go play from the steam one. Once ubi connect syncs your saves, its good to go with steam. All achievements and stuff carry over except playtime which I hate. Ranting aside, please give this game a try. It starts of a bit slow, but gets real good real fast, once you get out of the starting town.
ubisoft just plain sucks nowadays black flag was the last great game they made i hope the company fails and gets taken up by someone who actually cares to make good content
played for 4 hours and now i can't launch it cause ubisoft says i doesnt own the game.... WTF game was fun but ubisoft can suck my balls
I find Origins a very refreshing take on the Assassin's Creed series, some would say the gameplay is repetitive and they wouldn't be wrong for saying that, but the greatest pleasure for me in this game is exploration, the wonderful, exotic ambient and the beautifully crafted soundtrack. Bayek is a great, multi-faceted character who turns his path towards vengeance into something greater that would forever leave a mark on history. I heartily recommend the game.
The world looks stunning, with diverse and detailed environments, but the gameplay quickly becomes repetitive. The combat lacks depth, and the level-up system feels unnecessary. New skills don’t add much to the experience, making progression feel meaningless. Even the story and side missions, which seem interesting at first, lose their appeal due to the lack of engaging gameplay. Despite its visual beauty, there’s little reason to stay invested.
The world is sick as fuck, Bayek is cool too, other characters meh. Gameplay doesn't really feel like assassins creed anymore. you might have more fun if you forget that it is associated with assassins creed and just pretend it's a cool Egyptian action adventure game with some rpg elements. 7.8/10
I finished this game today after playing for about a week consistently. What once felt like " uh, this will take an eternity to complete the final mission " became " wow , this was/is such an amazing journey "
This is my top two AC Games along with Black Flag. This game is the most balanced of the the new styles of AC games, the map is just the right size, it aesthetic and design is breath taking. the leveling system is good not to easy or grinding, you can play the game with out of side quest but they are fun. the combat was fluid required you to learn fighting patterns, when to dodge, block or parry. the story was good and engaging it was longer than fps but not 60 hours plus which was good. The DLC followed the same pattern would recommend picking them up as well.
UBISOFTCONNET IS GARBGEEEEEE, ALWAYS SIGNING ME out, gOD FROBID u PUT ur Passsword in wrng 1 time now ur account is compromised u HAVE TO CHANGE UR PW OR UR JUS LOCKED OUT ALL UR SHIT, other the that game is great one of the better rpgs in the series, fun game play-wat ever story. ubisoftconnect is jus a nightmare. barley worth the head ache
Assassin’s Creed Origins is a deep-dive into a stunning era of ancient Egypt, with a well dsign of the culture, genuine characters.
The first assassin game to implement RPG mechanic, and it´s quite awesome, in some reviews you hear about some bugs I personally just found a little and minor ones.
One best assassins creed ever made, you can even feel the heat of the desert in you.
Enjoy this beauty!
Game itself is very optimized, very appealing to eyes, mechanics are fine but not as good as Odyssay. I hated the story, and tthe fact that i can't save it manualy, But still, i did like it the graphics. i can say it looks much better than Mirage from 2024.
