The Tower is known to have been created by an ancient being. Legends say that whoever defeats all of the guardians and reach the top will have the right to be granted the ultimate wish - "The ability to change one's fate". In the past 100 years, many have tried and never been heard from ever again. Until one day, four brave souls came forth and challenged their fate.

Control four different characters and follow their stories. Learn their motivations on coming to the Tower. Each character shows a different perspective. The choices you make on one character may affect what will happen on the others. With a story that intertwines all of their fates, there can only be one who will claim the ultimate prize!
First prince and heir to the throne of Lionhead Kingdom. Having heard about the legend of "The Tower", Lionel set out on a quest to challenge his fate.
Came from a forgotten civilization called "Ashelm". Enslaved by humans, she lived most of her childhood life in chains. Until one day, she was rescued by Alywyn the Red. A vigilante who fights for justice. She went to the Tower seeking power to rid the world of evil and end all wars.
A rabbit-folk from the Sect of Colors. He has mastered all forms of magic in each element. During the meeting with the four leaders, he has been tasked to investigate the tower as they have been sensing a source of malice around the area.
An unknown assassin who claims to be the "Son of Darkness". He likes to say catch phrases like "Get eaten by darkness" and thinks he's the best. His true intentions are unknown.

There is no nice way to say this, the game feels like straight ass to control.
It might take a minute to sink in as you play but gad-dang do you really get a feel for the stank during the later bosses.
I've barely started but the combat and boss designs are great! It's also kind of addictiing
I think this game was fun overall, but there are some hitbox issues that make the gameplay frustrating sometimes. I also think there might be a glitch with the achievements because they never got unlocked for me in Steam. Despite all that, this was a fun boss rush game that kept me playing till the end. I was curious to find out the secrets of the Tower and see what was really going on. Controller is definitely recommended though.

You wanna regret picking nightmare mode cause the game can't be harder than a soulsbourne game? Go for it...
Cute characters, nice music, a story that will make your eyes moist (depending on your decisions of course), and if you like a good challenge, for sure this is a nice game for you!
A very lovely boss rush game, decent amount of bosses, tight controls, likeable characters and cheap price. Highly recommended even at full price.
This demo conquered my heart as well as my wallet. If you like soft rpgs and 2D fighting games you got what you wished for.
I bought the game full price and felt great about it. Linux support is good and everything else is in check: lovely characters with their own silly moves and story lines.
this is my review after finishing this game for the first time. played on medium difficulty with the archer character.
1. beautiful BGM. consistent sound FX.
2. responsive controls.
3. smooth gameplay.
4. engaging story line.
5. graphic work is plain but blends perfectly with the universe. consistent theme.
6. very fast loading times (1-2 seconds on my PC with SSD).
7. very optimized on PC.
8. kinda difficult. even on medium difficulty. (or i just need to git gud).
9. very annoying last boss. took me so many tries defeating it. sooo satisfying when I killed that b****.
10. i like how each character has unique skillsets. even their dodge is different with each other.
Overall, i will score this 8/10.
Enjoyable to play for some kill time like some dark souls 2D and cuphead but serve as a passage for Dark Souls and Wolfenstein's level of uber and mein leben for some fun time and learning experience and recommend for playing before these said games to have some uber skills.

This is the first game on Steam I am writing a review for. The game is SOOO meta! I absolutely LOVED it, incredibly fun and challenging! The music is great, the art style is simple but awesome! I started with the demo before the release and played through as Lord Snicklefritz because obviously he's got the best name in the game! I jumped straight into Nightmare Mode and struggled on the first boss a little until I got used to the controls (I used Xbox controller, but I did remap some of the buttons).
I didn't realize how spoiled I was picking Fritz first until I bought the game and played through starting with Lionel then the game was challenging. I like how you have to make adjustments to your fight style with each character. Faindrel is my favorite to play. Dark Echo on the other hand....oh boy, easily the most rage inducing character in the game! I really enjoyed the variety between the characters and in each boss fight!
The story. This is where the game gets super meta. It starts off as an innocent story but then out of no where hits you heavy and deep with some thought-provoking and relatable dialogue, at least for me anyways.
I can honestly say that I loved everything about this game! Developers did a phenomenal job with this gem!
Only played through Story Mode so far but will definitely be going back for 100% Steam Achievements!

So Towertale is a decent boss battling game with cute animations and polished boss patterns. Most of the reviews already covered the main game so I would just like to point out the flexibility of the game. Not only does the game come in 3 difficulties, but also features an assist mode where you can increase/decrease stats such as player hp/dmg or boss hp/dmg to make battles easier or harder. It allows you to make bosses that are usually easy such as the Wolf (1st boss) provide a challenge or last boss which has some hard to dodge shots easier to deal with.
Overall the effort put into the game gives a decent boss fighter game that I do recommend playing. Oh yeah and it only costs 6€, which is 10x less than todays steam pricing.
The game is good for an indie game. I would pour more hours into this game as the replay value is there.
This one is a winner. Simple, tight controls against mechanically satisfying boss encounters. The aesthetic is also quite pleasant and cute. It has some surprisingly good music and sound design, keeping you pumped and right in the action. And the story (from what little I've seen so far) is endearing.
Not a whole lot to say, but that's just because this game flawlessly executes what it set out to do: be a boss rush game with 2D combat. So far I've only tested two of the four characters, but they were varied enough that the addition of two more means this game has extensive replay value and variety. For that price, this is an absolute steal. Snap this one up right away.
