ABANDON WARE DO NOT BUY. I was really excited for this to release from all the original trailer. But for some reason, they changed literally everything from the original trailer of this game to this confusing, over complicated shit pile. Everything before in the original plan was perfect, a stressful game yet simple with how to fix/pilot your ship. You can see all of the original ideas on their twitter which has been inactive since 2020. I could barely figure out how to even get out of the station let alone fix it if something happens. They also expect you to fly with multiple people, so if you're doing it solo, you're guaranteed to fail. Do not waste your money on this abandoned mess.
Despite the reviews, this is a pretty good game.the game is well balenced and the way all the systems work together is very interesting to me.the only problem with the game is the stock of fire hydrants and control chips going down and lack of players but other than that the game has been very fun
honestly fairly good, the dislike comments i dont fully understand, from solo experience, its still fun, and also its really hard, so if you want a easy game i wouldnt suggest it.
When you figure it out, its fun, but the lack of documentation isn't fun
I wish I could have said yes. Got it when it came out and have not played since, was lookin forward to the cross play thing but that never happened ):
Great game when played Co-Op with your online friends, wouldnt play it single player though.
I hate to say this but currently this game's state to this day still about 8 months after it has come out of EA there has been no updates on the steam news. Also no I'm not in the discord and currently not planning on it again after 8 months of nothing i don't think i feel like removing one of the servers I'm in to join a feels like abandoned game but i will point out a few things with this game then.
Pros:
interesting design and layout,
Balances the panic scale for one person or more then one person,
learning on the fly is interesting.
Cons:
Not much in the way of a basic setup for showing what things are on the ship,
Just the ship ship ship not much of a "lobby" room to get towards the ship,
DEDICATED SERVERS: I'm a ausie trying to play with my friend in asia and were running at 300+ ping so some things feel a bit well broken wouldn't be the word for it
sometimes the alerts can come out to quickly and not much to show how to repair efficiently of course might be because of inexperience however next thing
REPLAY: some games have a way to show off what you can do in the late game or how to get to the late game however in this game its well.... there is no showing the objective, not seeing a score sheet for say clean runs and such, not able to meet other things, if this was even somewhat a multiplayer online game should have a way of being like i have this much money i can do this and that or want to join me and just walk to their ship.
So in my case i feel there could be a lot of promise they put so much into their video showing what they wanted but honestly flunked it soooo badly with the whole companion app idea showing it off without implementing it. it's just like the division all over again in my eyes show something but unable to do anything close to it. There is not much in the way of feeling like even wanting to make a group to be more say tactical and when i did try online public in EA it was seriously unplayable cause of bugs and THE LAG just made me uninstall it about a month+ before 1.0 became a flunk so yea...
Case in point this game totally not a $29 aud IMO if you have the money I would recommend something more if you want to support someone somewhere try other EA games id rather use this money on something that is being worked on not just 1,0 then leave hell even go and buy raw data not many players nowadays but still a awesome game for same if not cheaper price.
very good game and the future looks so bright. not a big playerbase though so make sure to have friends or get good enough to play alone. very challenging game and you feel so cool when pressing al the buttons and they actually do something. lots get frustrated too.

There is very little gameplay in this game unfortunately, there is no save, there is not a lot to do, no progression. It seems there are like 3 scenario's (solar flare, electrified stuff, and asteroids) and that is about it. Each requires a specific set of actions to do, which are really really easy, as soon as you know what you are doing.
Once you have had done this scenario's, and made like 5-10 jumps, you have seen it all. (about 1 hour of fun or so).
I really wanted to give this game a chance, however initial concerns arose once i noticed that they had only had a few updates before putting this game out of Early Access. First red flag, but i decided to give it a chance anyway thinking "well they may have been working this game for a while and just wanted some beta testers." Once the game started however and i started playing with a friend we began noticing some of the game breaking bugs that i had seen in other reviews. They happened with such frequency that we felt we had refund and hope that the developers continue to work on the game and make the improvements required for this game to truly leave Early Access. In short i want to appreciate this game but in the current state that it is in i cannot give this a good review.
This game is really good if you are into panic fixing several components of the space ship
i played online with 1 other guy and it was reall fun rotating between cockpit analyzer and maintenance guy as this game is built mostly on teamwork
i tried solo after he left but i failed miserably so yeah
you need other people if you want the full experience
cant wait for future updates!!!
A nice game that makes a good impression for early access.
The community is still small at the moment, but let's wait after Christmas. :)
What I think that is not so good:
1. In the lobby you should be able to switch from multiplayer to single player again when no players are online.
2. If you leave an online match and then want to join again, the lobby list says that the game is "closed" even though player slots are free.
3. The stairs to the lower level work very badly if you do not use a teleporter for the player movements.
4. Some switches at the stations are not easy to reach (example: fuel pump valve on the right)
5. Visit the space stations would be great!
There you could then place the shop / sale for (fire extinguishers, fuses, computer chips).
In the future, maybe even a shop for ship parts (generator parts, ward drive parts ...), one for technician tools / updates, one for ship painting, etc.
6. Like other developers, opens a discord server on which new players can find each other faster.
7. More items in the shop and also more part selection!
8. Different types of ships would also be great.
(and maybe even increase the number of online players from 3 to 4 or 6)
9. There could be more missions!
Brainstorm:
-Aliens?
-Weapons?
-tractor beam for flotsam?
-Teleporter / rescue missions
-Spacesuits / outside repairs
All in all, its a good game and has potential.
The prerequisite for this is that it doesn't get boring and there is enough variety through missions, parts, ship upgrades, etc.
It has a solid groundwork laid, and some interesting ideas. Unfortunately, that's ALL it has right now. The ship is functional, and it can be played with others, but as the only thing to do is fly straight for about 30 second to 1 minute, arrive at next station automatically then do it again, it doesn't really offer much to actually do. It can be tricky to learn how to operate the ship but once everything is figured out it's actually rather simple to the point where even 1 person can keep the ship running reliably.
I'm giving this a thumbs up only because I'm looking forward to where this game goes, but in it's current state, I'd call this a functional Alpha test of the base features and nothing more.
If you enjoy games like FTL then this is the jam. This is an incredibly satisfying game for people who are methodical and enjoy puzzle solving. To cruise around the ship and figure out how everything works, and then to systematically get the ship up and running provides a really nice feeling of accomplishment. Its pretty fun to see what my friends strengths and weaknesses would be if we were ever stuck on board an old piece of garbage flying through space.
A few fun suggestions for future updates:
- Expand the map to fly out beyond the initial trade route
- Expand trade system where you can buy and sell goods at higher rates in other parts of the galaxy
- Make the base stations more like trucks stops by adding diners, shops, showers, gas pumps etc.
-This will also give us more things to spend our hard earned space bucks on (different outfits, upgrades, fun things for the ship like a radio!)
-See above, I want a radio to listen to some space jams!
-More space dangers: Black Holes, Metal eating parasites, Space Pirates boarding your ship!
Keep up the good work!
The game NEEDS PATCHING
POSITIVES
* Can be fun if you get the right team mate to play with you
* Its fun to flip the switches and stuff
* I like the humour of the commentary
SUGGESTIONS FOR THE DEVELOPERS
* Needs a better tutorial or add a training video
* Keep getting stuck in the walls
* The controls are stiff and slow
* Needs a better way to access to the in-game menu (took me hours to find out it only opens if you look at
your wrist closely for 10 seconds)
* The turn function isn't very responsive
* It needs some shorter destination to start off with for beginners
* The ship needs to work and not brake down for at least a short period of time
* The tools need to be in the back of the ship where you need them not the front. (Adding a tool belt to carry
the tools would be nice)
* I'd like to use the trigger button to use the tools instead of pressing the button on the top of the tool
* It would be nice if the manual can come up in your option menu instead of running to the front of the ship
and loosing a hand to carry it
* The fuses, circuit board and fire extinguisher should be resupplied automatically when you reach your
destination. Even at the beginning station
* More access points to the top and bottom levels
Very well done, after following the discord and this game for a long time, I'm pleasantly surprised how well it actually is. Yes it is rough the edges, of course this review is day one. So my review, as normal, will be based off potential. Currently as the developers continue along their course of refinement, it will shape up to an amazing game. Check the negative reviews if you'd like to see what features are missing on a day one early access game. Which is silly, but yknow. People are silly. Edit: Bro they fucking released it into early access, and then panic released it into full update 1.0, when it didn't do as well as they hoped and fucking just dumped it off. Not really interested in these devs anymore if they call it quits so easily.
i don't recommend buying this game its glitchy, once you know everything its boring and its not worth the $28 bucks (AU).
Really Fun Game to play with friend and random people 9/10 would of gave it a 10/10 if it had finger tracking
kinda bummed. the game is overly complicated, in the places that dont need it. options are bare bones, wish they were more complicated. anyways, i think theres a few issues here.
1. instead of focusing on fun player interaction, and fun stuff to do, they instead double down on meters and numbers. everywhere there is numbers, to fix something, numbers, to move ship, get 4 switches to somehow equal out power even though you have no idea what one bar is, nonetheless how much is needed for each thing like warp drive. so that said single players a no fun go.
2. players. first room i got into no body talked. so we all ran around doing heck knows while looking at a million numbers and bars. then i try to exit, no exit button. even when joining, no games show until i click make my own, then back out and voila, the 3 lobbys show up. im sure that number will sadly dwindle, but i hope im wrong and it doesnt.
3.based on number 2, you can see that having friends to talk and play with is crucial. since the interactions are very fun, they are basic knob moving and slider sliding. even the components like fuses and stuff are just grab and pop in. then the fire extinguisher, tape gun, ect have to be used by holding trigger to hold, then with other hand touching the floating box above gun or extinguisher. that just doesnt feel good. more so becuase im on oculus and hate gripping with triggers.
so ill stop there, i feel ive been a little harsh, but the interactions in ironwolf are deep and interesting, or just fun to do like loading torpedos and steering the ship. if they had taken more of a smaller space with more interesting stuff in those spaces, it probably would have worked alot better. but then it gets confusing, which in ironwolf it was interesting so i pushed through the learning curve, but here i dont feel i need to.
like to manage the uranium rods (thats not the name, but its part of the core) instead of actually pushing and putting new rods in and being creative, they just have 5 circle dialy things that you need to turn then push a button. it would have been so much better if someone just said look guys, we can only have 5 buttons, 5 dials 5 levers, ect, and instead made other ways to fix stuff more hand oreinted.
i will probably refund, which i dont like to do, but i just cant see myself slogging through these numbers to simulate fun.
The pictures dont match the game at all and the locomotion turning is very bad ngl also i cannot find the exit game button anywhere at all... also if you forget to buy a fuse on the ship and one blows out and you have no more while you are in space you are stuck and there is no rest button
Looks cool so far! I tried running the ship all by myself because no one else is online yet and it seems pretty fun. Kinda hard running around trying to figure everything out lol. Hopefully I can play with some people this evening.
