I would only buy this game if it was on sale for at least 50% off. It's a super simple point and click game but every stage has a timer that can be frustrating to hit. The puzzle sections are ambiguous and usually give you no indication of where you should put things, but if you use a hint it takes points off of your score causing you to have to do those puzzles at least once more in order to get a good enough score to continue. You could probably finish this game in about 20 minutes and honestly I don't think it's worth it. This could possibly be a good game teaser but on its own it's not fun or very interesting.
Short, relaxing but sometimes challenging hidden objects game. For some of the puzzles you need more attempts to succeed because you have to be fast but they are doable. I also enjoyed the artwork and relaxing music.
This is a great game for kids although I find it quite short. The art is very appealing and suitable for children and so is the story. However, there's a lot of problems with this game that you should be aware of, starting with the lack of adjustment of the background to your computer screen. In my case, the pictures have more height than my screen, making me to scroll up and down when searching for objects. It should be automatically adjusted or have display settings available in the game.
The pictures where you are supposed to guess where the objects should be positioned in are impossible for you to know, which can be frustrating. There is little guidance to what is supposed to be done in each puzzle and that can be a problem for the kids to understand what they have to do.
I suggest you play this game with your child to help them complete the tasks. Besides the guidance through the game, I'm sure it will give you a very nice quality time together where you can ask them what is going on in the story, since the comic parts are based only on pictures. It will help developing their creativity and analytical skills using visual cues for context. I think it will also be very helpful for children with learning difficulties.
When it comes to the game itself, it is a perfect example of what not to do's when making a puzzle game. I actually find it quite interesting and a great tool for learning purposes to game developers. Besides the lack of information in the tasks, the finding objects pictures can get the player confused. The words should be more specific about the searching object, like calling a knife when it's really an army knife. Also, don't ask for searching a cat when there is a cat appearing and disappearing on/off screen and that's not the cat that should be looked for. There are issues like that, which can be misleading not just for kids but for adults as well.
It's also a problem that the screen switches not only when the user taps on it but will also switch by itself if you don't do it after a few seconds. All the parts of the game should only switch when the player clicks on it, because if you want to read the story or analyse the comic pictures, it doesn't give you much time.
Yet, I think this game is very inviting and children will still enjoy playing this. The pictures are very cute with little animations and the characters are very funny looking. I also like that if you replay the level the objects change, giving you more playing time. I just wish the game was longer.
Terrible. The story is just odd, and the items you are looking for has almost no relevance to the story. Additionally many of the items are not what they say. It tells you to look for a lamp when it actually means a light bulb.
Cute games and puzzles for elementary and middle school kids. Shorter than I would have wanted to play. Buy on sale.
I would call Det Sherlock Pug a kid's game. It is SHORT, about 1.5 hours. In each HOS you earn up to 3 stars, and you need 2 stars to move to the next one. So you need to replay it until you earn 2 stars. In other words, you can play the HOS as slow as you like (it doesn't "time out"), but you must speed up to earn 2 stars if you want to move on.
The art work is comic-book style.
The HOS have bright-colored graphics. Easy to see.
A negative rating wouldn't be fair because it plays smoothly, has clear graphics, and is comic-book style. It's not trying to be another genre. My one complaint is that on the mini games, I had no idea where to place the objects. They go in the middle of no where, so I had to use the hint for each item the first time through. Then, in order to get 2 stars, I replayed them while trying to remember which unidentifiable spot each item went. Each time you mis-click, the item s-l-o-w-l-y floats back down to inventory (this means you can't pixel hunt).
Garbage game. Can't progress beyond level 2 for lack of enough stars, but there's no indication of how to achieve that. Refunded my $1.19.
Funny simple HOG with animated story. I guess the target players are kids but I really enjoyed the gameplay as a fan of cartoons. All the items are big, not complicated names and nice painted pictures. It is really short but it is nice introduction for HOG beginners. Some of the minigames are strange because it is necessary to locate the object exactly to the certain place. But the other minigames are quite good. The idea of the game has potencial for some next parts.
My recomendation is above average YES. It is not possible to compare it with pro-level HOGs but with respect to the aim players this is very good game.
An excellent casual game with an interesting history, we are looking for objects, collecting puzzles, solving puzzles and much more, the game is not very long, but playing is very interesting + you can cross the game to break your record, it will be interesting to pass through, because the puzzles change every time, the game worth every ruble spent, did not regret spending time on it
if you have free time and no idea how to spend it - let try this game. Point&click isn't a heavy game genre and the story in cartoon style will accompaniment you. This is not a best game ever but worthy of attention. I like it. And of course it`s easy achievements.
It's extremely short. Even for only a couple of dollars, it's not really worth the time. Why? All of the HOG's are timed with the time limit being arbitrary so you never know how much time you have to earn stars. You need 2 stars to get to the next puzzle and that can mean redoing the same HOG puzzle several times until you get that second star, meaning the game time is artificially inflated. The puzzles what aren't HOG's are dull and uninspiring. You often have to try to figure out exactly where on the screen they want you to place one specific object..You can try placing the objects multiple times and still not get it on the exact little spot that the game wants. Once you use a "hint" to see where it's wanted, you will likely be frustrated to find that it was a spot you definitely had just tried a dozen times. It's not enjoyable. The story might've been cute, but the puzzles ruined it for me. In addition, the music was so annoying that I turned it off. Really...there are much better HOG games out there to spend a couple of dollars on. Don't waste your time or money on this.
Detective Sherlock Pug is a hidden object-adventure game. In this game introduces the 360 degree panoramic levels, which are great fun. Great graphics and very easy to play. The story is simple and understandable. I'd recommend it for those that just want a casual object finding game.

This game is horrible.
One of the worst point n click games I have ever played.
Some of the missions doesn't even give you good enough hint what you need to do and you end up moving items around the screen to get them fit on the right spot. Annoying.
Game looks fun and funny kids game, but I don't think many kids would enjoy this one.
Only part I enjoyed in this game was hidden object mini games.
Rest is so bad I cannot recommend this game to anyone.

Not fun. Not funny. Not relaxing. You are given a blank page of paper - can you solve it?
The few hidden object games are very simple.
However, every other "puzzle" is the blank slate type - no clues, non-intuitive, exact location required.
Whee. Very frustrating. And, it's timed so you can compare your time to others...
Very interesting game about the search for various items. Great time-killer! Atmospheric music does not bother, but rather gives sparkle to the game. Cartoon graphics is not bad, does not hurt the eyes. And achievements! Passed the game 2 times, I would still had time :(

A good game with children's graphics and a detective genre that includes easy humor.
The game welcomes you with good riddles that you get to the villain, but if you don’t cope at all, then tips will help you.
The essence is very simple, you are given words and you are looking for hidden objects that are needed to complete the level.
The characters themselves are very well developed and the background music is likewise interesting.
Before that, I also bought the games of these developers and I can say with confidence that they have put their hearts into this game, since the riddles do not repeat and the game is still interesting to play.
