Yes the games fun but the ai is absolutely trash. Literally 10 minutes into each of the final missions and i'm being countered the whole time and then over run. Even tried it on easy mode and the same thing.
No
Timeless game that never gets old.
Good Fun. If you're looking for a strategy that's light and easy after a hard day. This one is great! doesn't take itself too seriously but gives multiple ways to win and is a good economics based, city builder/strategy game.
love this game!
One of the best strategy games for me. Ruin the economy and you're dead.
10/10
I have very mixed feelings about this game. In one moment I am playing 1 vs 3 vs The hardest bots possible and I am having fun and just 10 minutes later I am dominating them or the game is crashing. For the price of just 5$ it's ok especially if you played it already and just want to get some nostalgia from those years.
Good game.
This game is one of the first games I've played and I personally think it's great. So don't look at me as if I played the other the Settlers Parts too, because I haven't.
The game itself is really nice, as much as I don't really enjoy toony graphics, I really like this one. Strategically this is mostly about Transport management, so you need to manager which resources can be found an used where without disrupting the flow of existing items so that you can select ways to expand your empire and win the round. There's two ways to win, the first one would be to win with military (which I prefer the most) and the second one would be by Points (I play this game in a different language, so bare with me). I'm not sure why this is a feature, because even if I win by points, I still want to get rid of the enemy party. Most people created maps for that reason, where reaching the end of the game by points is unlikely, so if you play against real people, I would recommend to play those maps instead of the vanilla maps.
There's also a few negative points about this game, the first one is that you require a third party launcher called Ubisoft Connect that you also will have to log in to every single time you launch the game. This is very disappointing and a turnoff for a lot of players.
Another one is that this is the 7th game of the The Settlers Series, though this doesn't really have a lot in common with the other The Settlers games. This game by itself is great, so if you're starting out with this without having played the other ones, you could be fine, but if that isn't the case, it's very likely that you won't like this game because of your different expectations.
Anyways, I like it. I hope this helped
This game is actually quite fun. It's a much 'cleaner' experience with tighter mechanics and better graphics than its two immediate predecessors, and it centers on creating and maintaining economic chains as opposed to Settlers V and VI's love of dumbed-down pixel RTS combat. There is a lot of war in this game, but it comes with a focus on building a robust economy to support your army rather than just recruiting and attacking-moving.
There are two caveats:
1. You have to enter your password for Uplay to access the game. It won't ask you again until you restart Steam, but it's still really annoying and another bit of Ubisoft's nonsense. If this is a dealbreaker, avoid this game.
2. Although Settlers 7 focuses more on economics than its predecessors, it's still very much a competitive game where you have to keep upgrading or expanding your economy to win. I was expecting a chill city builder, and while I enjoy the game a lot, chill is not a good word for its style.
I got Settlers 7 on sale for like $4 and have been loving it, but if Uplay is a dealbreaker or you want something more relaxing, look into another series like Tropico.
This is an incredibly fun and addictive game, now rendered unplayable (at least to me) by Ubisoft's stupid Connect portal.
I have purchased this game three times.
I bought the Mac version back in 2012 and played it for three years until Ubisoft terminated Mac support, nullifying my purchase.
Then I bought the retail version of this game, thinking there was no way Ubisoft could screw with a game that was purchased on CD. How wrong I was. I was able to play this on my Mac via Crossover for several years, eventually disconnecting my computer from the internet before starting so it wouldn't update the stupid Ubisoft portal to a version that wouldn't run under virtualization, and then reconnecting to play. Eventually that stopped working as well although I'm not sure why.
Then I bought the History Edition on Steam and ran it on Windows 10 under Bootcamp. Supposedly the DRM was removed, but I was extremely irritated that the latest iteration of the Ubisoft portal, Connect, made me enter my password every time I wanted to play but I went along.
Then a few weeks ago, Ubisoft invalidated my password for no apparent reason. I guess they thought my account was being frauded or some other nonsense. When Ubisoft's password reset software tries to send an email to do the reset, it gets lost in the ether. It's not in the spam filter, the email address has been white listed, and Ubisoft has no other way to allow me to reset my password. I can't log in, I can't do anything. Email from Ubisoft support comes to the same email address with no problem. Ubisoft support is useless.
So Ubi's insistence that I log in to a separate portal (Connect) after logging into the primary portal (Steam) has done nothing but prevent me from playing a game that I paid for (three times).
I had already resolved to never purchase another game from Ubisoft, but now I am unable (again) to play my existing games.
In summary, I will never, ever, EVER purchase another game from Ubisoft. I would urge others to do the same.
great city builder
Settlers 7 as it was. Nice game to hop into at times. It unfortunately is still UPlay DRM. Some stupid Ubisoft Connect OVERLAY needs to be logged in to everytime you want to play even via Steam. Frustrating. But still a good grab on sale.
This game is pretty extensive with lots of options for what strategy you want to take. I love it.
