ОБ ИГРЕ
ГОРОД ДОЛЖЕН ВЫЖИТЬ
Frostpunk — это новая игра от создателей This War of Mine.
Поддерживаемые языки: english, french, german, spanish - spain, polish, russian, simplified chinese, portuguese - brazil, turkish, italian, japanese, korean

Review
Frostpunk is a game I didn’t think I would get into as much as I did, but as the product balances an easily understood system with harsh countermeasures; it is an unforgiving ordeal that is quick to pick up. I put in 6 hours the first day of play, and that is not something to scoff at as I nowadays more often than not give games 30 minutes before treading back to mind numbing repetition of already played titles. Frostpunk did something with me that I have not experienced since I was a kid. That feeling of obsession. That ungainly nerdiness that deletes time and space. I was supposed to go to work in the morning but there I was transfixed by this strange thrill of city building? This is not a pool of genre I often dip my toes in, yet there is an uncanny familiarity. A long gone time of flash games, turn-based fantasy and civ/sim games. Frostpunk is more than a city builder, it is a challenge.
Not only a challenge in difficulty, but a grandiose challenge of humanity contra practicality, complete with all the bells and whistles to subvert you from seeing its inner workings. A puzzle game with more pieces than the puzzle needs to be finished. But all the while I have always thought of puzzles as a bore so how is it possible that I could sink so many hours into it, with a thirst for more. The theming and story got me hook, line and sinker.
You operate as the leader of a newly founded city in the dystopian icy ridges of a late 19th century Britain, where steam and coal power is key and your people (work force) clamor in famine and frostbite. It is an unforgiving setting where every speck of snow and your frosted up vignette instill a sense of respect and fear. There will be death, there will be uprising and in between the meticulous city building and resource management there will be mystery and exploration, politicking spliced with monotheism, fascism and class war. The world of Frostpunk is a grim canvas of the helpless state of humanity and the implosion of the environment. Will this new world order even have room for humankind or will the ice age erase our memory and subtract our very culture. The nightmarish setting choice of a victorian apocalypse has never been this good.
The crux of the game is at its core rapid expansion of the circular city and resource gain, paired with story beats that will help you or sap you (most likely absolutely obliterate you). You will have to balance the hope and discontent of the citizens while keeping a watchful eye on the heat level. Sickness and death will plague you while you scavenge for food and coal, making you wary of overworking but frantic for stockpiling. There are several scenarios to choose from in the main menu with an applicable difficulty setting. Although the main campaign is the one with the biggest scope and hoorah, the others serve their purpose quite well with some exciting curveballs and variation, but they will never come close to the initial playthrough of the mainline. That is an experience to be had!
As you open the game you are at once greeted by a beautiful soundtrack that wholly encapsulates the tragedy of man that is about to play out before you. The devastating frugal violin and subtle horror glissandos that is soon joined by an aristocratic quartet. The industrial stoicism that progress the track with staccato, brass and urgency. In no other soundtrack have I found such a diegetic delivery that tells you of the world while coinciding with it. It tells you of nationalism, technological advancements, the environmental collapse, power play, melancholy yet industriousness, time and setting. It tells you what beauty is and what trepidation that lies within it, but most importantly it tells you that the city MUST NOT FALL… and it chills you to the bone as if the northern wind has taken a hold of your room. At least Frostpunk has taken a hold of me.
9/10
Doesn't take too long to get good at the game if you learn the stats and do the math. Great challenge nonetheless
Played endless mode. Built an amazing city. Had over 130k coal and 10k of all other resources. City still looses hope every storm. Hit the building limit. Replaced buildings with town squares. Crashed the game.
I think I win
I really enjoy this game, however it can be a little unforgiving, so be warned.
Stop making me click past an advert for the sequel every time I want to play the damned game.
nice game
and very worth for the price if its on sale
i kinda get the same feeling playing this like when i am playing anno and i am since the very begining of the game CONSTANTLY in war
you are under pressure all the time cause something is litteraly always missing
and when you think you are safe the game throws an ingame event in your face and suddenly you have 5 new issues
it doesnt feel unfair tho which i think is realy important
its just very enjoyable

Introduction
Frostpunk, developed by 11 bit studios, is a city-building survival game set in an alternate 19th-century frozen wasteland where players must lead the last city on Earth. Combining elements of strategy, resource management, and moral decision-making, the game tasks players with ensuring their colony's survival against a relentless, apocalyptic winter. Known for its challenging gameplay and grim atmosphere, Frostpunk delivers a unique, intense experience that explores themes of survival, sacrifice, and the ethics of leadership.
Gameplay and Mechanics
The core of Frostpunk is city management under extreme conditions. Players must gather resources—coal, wood, steel, and food—while keeping the city’s generator running to stave off the cold. Balancing warmth, food, and health is essential, as the weather constantly worsens, making survival more difficult.
As the city’s leader, you enact laws that shape society, from child labor to extended work shifts. Every choice impacts your people’s hope and discontent levels, creating a moral balancing act where survival often conflicts with ethical considerations. Decisions have real consequences, and failure to address crises can lead to rebellion or the collapse of your society.
Moral Choices and Society Building
A standout feature in Frostpunk is its moral choice system. Players enact laws and make decisions that test their principles—such as establishing child labor laws, building emergency shelters, or even forming faith-based or authoritarian governments. Each decision affects the city’s morale and survival, pushing players to consider the ethical cost of their actions in the face of desperation.
The game also introduces two distinct paths for society: Order or Faith. These systems add strategic depth, as each path provides unique buildings, policies, and benefits that influence the city’s stability and the people’s loyalty.
Graphics and Atmosphere
The game’s visuals and atmosphere are hauntingly beautiful. The frozen city, with its towering generator and snow-covered buildings, feels both bleak and captivating. The dynamic weather and day-night cycles add to the sense of immersion, making the cold feel like an ever-present enemy. The muted color palette and chilling ambient sound design emphasize the game's oppressive, survivalist tone, immersing players in its world of perpetual frost.
Replayability and Scenario Variety
Frostpunk offers several scenarios, each with unique challenges and objectives. The main scenario, “A New Home,” focuses on building a self-sustaining city, while others, like “The Arks” and “The Refugees,” introduce specific goals and story-driven scenarios. Each scenario requires different strategies and management styles, offering substantial replayability as players face new moral and survival challenges.
Additionally, the game’s Endless Mode allows for extended play, challenging players to survive as long as possible in the harsh environment, with various difficulty settings adding to the challenge.
Difficulty and Learning Curve
Frostpunk is known for its challenging gameplay and punishing difficulty curve. The game does not hold players’ hands, and failure to manage resources or morale effectively can quickly lead to a game over. It rewards careful planning and adaptability, making each decision critical to survival. This challenge is a key part of the game’s appeal but may deter casual players seeking a more relaxed city-building experience.
Expansions and Post-Launch Content
Since launch, Frostpunk has received several expansions, including The Last Autumn, which introduces a prequel scenario with new buildings, laws, and challenges, and On the Edge, which adds a post-storm survival story. These expansions deepen the lore and gameplay, giving players additional perspectives on the struggles faced in Frostpunk’s harsh world.
Conclusion
Frostpunk is a masterfully crafted survival city-builder that delivers a compelling, morally complex experience. Its blend of strategic management, societal choices, and relentless survival elements make it a unique and memorable title that explores the harsh realities of leadership and sacrifice. The game’s challenging gameplay and bleak atmosphere are both immersive and thought-provoking, though its difficulty may be intimidating for some.
Pros:
- Engaging survival mechanics with a deep moral choice system.
- Haunting visuals and immersive atmosphere.
- High replayability with varied scenarios and Endless Mode.
- Expansions add significant content and depth.
Cons:
- Punishing difficulty curve may deter casual players.
- Limited control over citizens can feel restrictive.
Final Rating: 9/10
Frostpunk is an exceptional city-building game that challenges players to balance survival with morality. Its compelling mechanics, dark atmosphere, and impactful choices make it a must-play for fans of survival strategy games.
Frostpunk is a brutally honest test of your leadership under intense pressure. In this city-building survival game, even after more than 10 hours of play, I find myself constantly navigating between compassionate choices and hard calls. The game demands clarity and decisiveness as you battle the cold and keep your city alive, reminiscent of the trade-offs in SimCity, but amplified by a relentlessly bleak, high-stakes environment. Success requires you to be both radically candid and care personally—every choice impacts your city and your people’s survival, making each decision feel essential and urgent. Frostpunk doesn’t let you off the hook; it’s as unforgiving as it is compelling.
The children yearn for the mines, and the hothouses yearn for corpses. Great survival city builder, interesting moral choices here and there
Really fun game.
Its nice to see how well a run can go if you make the right choices or how badly a run can go due to a single mistake.
Loved the world building and setting, and the mechanics are pretty good.
Its a very good management game.
So, overall loved this game. As a Texan, when I was doing really well I proudly declared myself Better Than Ted Cruz.
However, I will say that the lovely aesthetics of this game can also be its downfall if you have poor eyesight; in later stages of the game I got so frustrated trying to find the correct dismal grey buildings among the mess of other dismal grey buildings that reassigning workers became pretty impossible at times. I longed for a strategic overlay with simpler symbols as I was trying to optimize. Hopefully the UI is a bit clearer in 2; I look forward to playing it as well.
Remove the "playable" Tag for Steam Deck. it says "some text might be hard to read" where it should instead say "surgically remove your eyes, transplant them onto the screen and implant a screen reader directly into your head"
Start game-
Figure out the story-
start a tent because of homelessness-
Continue for hours-
Fail-
Fail-
Fail-
watch a guide-
start getting more then 2 weeks of living in each save-
the ui is very tedious, you have to click the same buttons over and over because there's no way to select multiple buildings and give them the same order
I do not usually gravitate to this type of game, however Frostpunk lulled me in. In a week I have finished the base game as well as the expansions. This game quite honestly sits in my top 10 favorite games.
What I like most about this game is the atmosphere. It’s gritty, unforgiving, demanding, yet beautiful. The music is foreboding and hopeful. There is a sense of futility in the story being told.
Although the game doesn’t hold your hand it is fairly accessible and relatively easy to learn the basics for someone who doesn’t play these types of game (like me).
I bought the base game and all the dlc while it was on sale, and obviously you would want to do that - Save your money! However, I really do believe that you would be getting your money’s worth at full price as well. I would’ve bought it at full price in hindsight. Whatever makes the most sense to you.
Great game! Worth all the time I have put into, and will put in.
The game is fun yet challenging. It feels like a nice reimagining for the genre. This game also has one of my favorite soundtracks to almost any game I've ever played.
Amazing post-apocalyptic setting, mixing steampunk with snow. Besides the resources management, the game has an amazing way to make you deal with people resources with the promises and laws.
Pretty good game, can be addicting. Very intuitive with all the tasks you have to manage. It always feels like you're in a race against time and resource depletion. That can be good or bad depending on who you are. This is more survival rather than a city builder. It is not a cozy game for cute cozy builds and fancy layouts. I recommend!
it is hard but enjoyable simple yet difficult your choices lead to your destruction or your salvation. if the cold doesnt get you first
The games intresting. Havent ever playeyed a game like this and it was good. many scenarios so you wont get bored and can make it more challenging even though its rather challenging on its own. Great game highly recomend 9/10
I bought it when it came out back in the day. Playing my little Ice Apocalypse while sweating under a hot summer roof. I have been playing on and off but always come back eventually. It can be a tough game but 90% of the time it is fun (10% being pure agony at seeing your community fail/freeze/starve). Never had any crashes or game breaking bugs. The music and art create a great backdrop to the dire game world. The dynamic building placement can be ardous at times but the circular setup of the city and watching it grow are uniquely distinctive in my opinion. A highlight in the game (at least for me) is the constant choice between preserving nobel ethics or degenerating to pure utilitarianism.
This game is really hard.
This game is really mean.
This game is unbelievably good.
I did not expect this game to be this good. I opened up the game and have been playing for 6 hours straight. Survived for the first time. really recomended.
Grueling, SoulsBorne type difficulty that feels very rewarding to over come and push through. I highly recommend this game to anyone who thinks it looks even slightly interesting. I can't wait to play the sequel at some point!
Its fun, you will have to start over many times though because Its a bit confusing at first. This game has cool lore and Its a true gem of a game, I would recommend this. 7/10
What a great surprise !
Only 15 hours and I'm already in love with this game. It is not too complicated to understand at first play, I don't feel overwhelmed by the resources balancing. UI and sound FX are well designed, moral choices are somehow interesting to make ; whether you want to be a great savior or a tyrannical ruler.
I've already completed the first two scenarios and I'm looking forward playing the next ones !

Was really not sure what to expect in the beginning but really love this Game! This is a really interesting City Building game simulation where one must make very difficult decisions to progress.
One of the best made games out there. Love how decisions work in the game, as they have both practical and moral consequences which will have an effect throughout the rest of each game.
Really loved this one. Original, beautiful, and fun to play. There's not a ton of content (i.e. scenarios) to play so I think the replayability lacks a little, but its definitely worth buying.
Immersive, humbling, scenic, wonderfully orchestrated soundtrack. Hands down worth it.
Don't look up too many spoilers, best to go in blind and see the consequences yourself.
Kind of boring and no real explanation of anything it just drops you in game.
One of the best strategy games of all times.
Breathtaking atmosphere, excellent music, good writing.
Highly recommend.
This game is great for a few hours of play. Grab it for around 5-10€, and you’ll get some enjoyment out of it. It’s beautifully crafted, super atmospheric, and has a solid soundtrack to match.
That said, I’m giving it a negative review because it's overpriced and lacks meaningful features. You’ll get 2-3 runs out of the main campaign, which is story-driven, and it hints at other modes like free play or an endless mode with similar quality—but they’re not there. The overall difficulty is too easy, and the other scenarios beyond the main campaign are just bad.
For anyone looking for alternatives, I’d recommend Against the Storm or Oxygen Not Included. They’re both insanely good!
Worth every single penny in ur wallet
Graphic 10/10 (honestly my criteria of graphic is not always "fully" realistic)
Story 9/10 (it gives me chills, but i hope they do give more story about the other scenario)
Audio 10/10 (sure no need to talk about this)
Gameplay 10/10 (hear ye... hear ye... 2 days in and i alr have 22 hours of gameplay on weekend)
Game has much to offer very replayable. Morale choices are an absolute blast (looking at you TLA). City building is satisfying. This game is an absolute favourite of mine 10/10 would send young Jimothy back in the mine again
I just finished the "A New Home" scenario and I could not recommend this game enough. My teeth were grit as it came to its end and I let out such a sigh of relief at its victory. Winning felt like a serious achievement. Now to do it on Normal mode.
REVIEW MIGHT INVOLVE A SMALL SPOILER!
This isn't just a typical city builder/survival game. I would have never thought that just clicking around on numbers and allocating workers would be so intense. The game involves so many emotions. The game does a great job at making you feel the cold and struggles of every single worker. Each worker is significant and important, adding even more emotional weight to them. The increasing cold forces you to make efficient and smart decisions and to resume developing your city. (Luckily) The game offers multiple difficulties. I, as a pretty bad player, even struggle with Easy mode, but the difficulty is just right which also feels great since the game is not too easy or too hard for me. The laws are really cool. It tests and reflects on the way you would deal with such struggles. Going with moral laws might feel more right and early in the game it might be helpful, while later, once it becomes more and more challenging, the immoral laws would have been much more beneficial, therefore also making you think a lot before signing a law. The story and the beautiful artworks give you a better understanding of this fictional world and it also adds to the atmosphere. (And here a small spoiler warning for those who really don't want to know anything that is awaiting them) Even before experiencing the great storm for the first time, I would have rated this game a 10/10 already. But the final great storm was such an intense and insanely captivating event, I would rate the game beyond a 10/10.
So in conclusion, I would absolutely recommend to get this game. Although I waited for a big discount, this is one of those games where you say it is worth it to get at full price. Even for those who never touched a strategy game (such as me), I would highly recommend it. Careful tho, game is extremely addicting.
Bought this game because the second one just came out and I wanted to play this first. Forces me to click through 2 ads about the new game everytime I start it. I'll never buy the second one.
I was not expecting a strategy game to feel this intense but I love it. I love that all of your decisions comes with a drawback, everything is a zero sum game, every resource you put in one area will cause you to loose in other areas. On top of the classic resource management, you will have to deal with your own people and make sure you are "loved" enough to stay in charge.
Love it. 10/10
Good survival colony building game, and good for killing time. Frustrated but relaxing. You can make children work in the mines. Recommended
7/10
The game is unforgiving and stressful. The wiki is dead and not too good. They don't teach you that much in the tutorial. Some scenarios are basically rigged. Certain events suddenly tell you to prepare for crazy things like accepting 90 people or preparing 2k food rations in little time. The stress is unbearable, and you will restart multiple times.
10/10, would recommend.
So this is what its like, to endure and survive the post apocalyptic frozen wasteland. Overall, its a great game. Highly recomended to those who love intense, fast paced, logical thinking city building Sim.
The main goal here is to survive the great frost, maintain in power by balancing (Discontent and Hope bar). It will test your limits on decision making and city management.
This is the best Stalin simulator on Steam.
It's easy to judge how someone decides to run a freezing nation with minimal resources... until you have run a freezing nation with minimal resources.
Honestly could not tell you how many times I've restarted since first playing, lowkey embarrassing but the game is a whole lot of trial and error, although for me it's mostly error.
Great game though but you honestly need a whole lot of patience since it's a giant juggling act constantly micro managing everything to ensure survival but never get complacent because the minute you think that you have everything under control this winter wasteland will no doubt throw you an unexpected curb ball.
Frostpunk is a difficult game to summarise so I would say just give it a play and see how it goes but all in all this is a great game and well worth playing.
Fun simple game. Main story doesn't drag out with very good pacing. (There is a mode that is endless). Especially worth during sale but it is so good that full price might be worth.
I’ve spent dozens of hours playing Frostpunk with all its DLCs on another platform. Since that version didn’t support macOS, I decided to purchase it again on Steam.
Frostpunk is a unique blend of resource management and city-building, spiced up with RPG elements where every decision significantly shapes the outcome.
Combined with an engaging story, visuals that creates great atmosphere and some of the best music I’ve ever heard in a game.
-The story isn’t detailed, yet it doesn't feels lacking. However the atmosphere draws you in so much that you want to immerse yourself even more in the story.
-The graphics are beautiful and perfectly capture the intended atmosphere.
-The soundtrack, composed by Piotr Musiał, elevates the entire experience. It’s so good that I often find myself listening to
it outside the game. It takes an already excellent game to new heights.
Combined with an engaging story, visuals that creates great atmosphere and some of the best music I’ve ever heard in a game; Frostpunk is a must-play for anyone who enjoys even a little bit of this genre.
9/10
Frostpunk is, in essence, a visual novel with stats. Yes I'm not afraid to say it. The game is railroaded, scripted to the core, with a solid foundation for a decently strategic gameplay but at the end of the day the player is in for the emotional punches and the attachment to their settlement while it slowly expands outwards (not too much given the size of the environment). In the game you'll be taking the role of a captain who fled London with a maniple of desperate people who want to find a safe place from the New Ice Age which is plaguing the Earth at the end of 1800. In this alternate reality automatons and a special resource called Steam Core (essentially a giant battery) have given the world a new spin on how to construct facilities and solve common issues. The player is asked to create a city for their people and make them prosper for a time.
"For a time" is not to be taken lightly: the main campaign lasts about 40 days, every so often the temperature will go down till dangerous levels and the captain will be responsible for the people's wellbeing as they plan ahead to build shelters, homes, resource depots and steam-powered drills to penetrate the dense ice and extract resources. Everything is tailerd to appear as an overhead strategy game where the player creates buildings and manages resources, but really the "strategic" aspect is just a facade. The story is set in stone, events are meant to convey a sense of urgency or give small bonuses along the way, and the ending is... not very good. I get why the developers made it like that, but I cannot praise them for it. The whole game creates a small sense of accomplishment every time the player completes an objective, so I think it would have been fair for the last days to be really dramatic and show SOME loss.
On average difficulty, beating the game is pretty easy since all it requires of the player is to be a decent manager and know how a basic city works. There is little incentive to replay the main story since the events presented are always the same and thus the consequences also never change. I dare say that the player is being railroaded to victory, which was a bit disappointing. Surely a bit of artificial losses at "survival" mode would benefit the one in search of drama but that defeats the purpose of the whole ordeal in my opinion.
Keeping people happy is also pretty easy and managing hope is not as vital as Motivation in the expansion-prequel The Last Autumn. I'm sure Endless mode would titillate the most masochistic gamers though I would gladly pass since the main driving factor in this game is the story.
Pretty decent game, provided that the player is in for roleplay and the worldbuilding rather than the purely game-y aspect of it all which is, to be frank, not very exciting.
Tough game that really pushes you to make hard decisions.
When the final boss music went on I clenched.
