Чистый ретро-хаос FPS
Вас ждут быстрые и отчаянные непрестанные битвы: пробивайтесь через толпы порождений хаоса с помощью арсенала классических навороченных орудий.

Красный дождь

One of the best games iv ever played. There's no BS. Just a great game.
Out of all the boomer shooters I've played in recent years, Prodeus is one of the best, and I had a lot of fun with it. The combat feels great and fluid, with weapons that all feel and sound great, a good amount of enemy variety, and high speed movement to dodge and circle strafe as needed. Level design is good, with large and detailed levels with plenty of nooks and crannies and hidden secrets to find. The music is also great, between the calmer atmospheric tracks and the high intensity metal that kicks in during large fights. The art style is interesting, with weapons and enemies that are pixelated 3D models which can look odd at times and may be off-putting to some.
The only real negatives I have with Prodeus is overall the game is kind of easy. I played on Hard and faced minimal challenge and had very few deaths over my entire first playthrough getting 100%, so on future replays I'm likely to bump it up to the hardest difficulty. Some people might also have an issue with the save system. Every level has checkpoints that you return to the nearest one if you die, but you can only save after finishing a level. I don't really have an issue with this system but those with limited free time might.
I think Prodeus is one of the must play boomer shooters. It is a really good game. I've enjoyed my time with it and I look forward to challenging myself to beat it on the hardest difficulty.
RIDICULOUS FUN!
this is what would a AAA blockbuster fps shooter released late 1990s would be.
i damn loved quake back in the day ... this game really scratched that quake itch for me!
I really like to give positive reviews to games but in this case I have very mixed feelings about Prodeus.
I enjoy the combat just fine but I wish it had more complexity. I love the graphics and art design.
The level select is a cool use of the Super Mario world level select and a perfect fit for a game like this.
I DESPISE the checkpoint and death system. It just breaks my enjoyment of the game.
It's a good game with a fatal flaw that takes me out of the experience every time I play it.
A modern masterpiece 10/10 More please.
Voxel Doomershooter/Boomershooter, really fun combat loop, play on hard or more to get a better play experience.
Very satisfying boomer shooter and the sound design largely contributes to that. Worth of every dollar.
Prodeus is an all around solid boomer shooter. The visuals are its outstanding trait. You can quickly see that in the trailer so there no much to say about it. It's pretty.
The combat, guns, enemies and levels are all good without too much to complain about. It's all influenced by DOOM which is fine but in terms of the enemies and guns a little too much. The game feels somewhat generic.
The no-punishment respawn feature is a strange choice and makes the higher difficulties maybe kind of pointless. I think its unfortunate that it lacks a horde mode like many shooters have, or any other extra other game mode. It also lacks Steam Cloud support.
Overall its worth the time investment for how well it looks and plays but its forgettable with some flaws. Prodeus isn't really any better than modded classic DOOM (e.g. Brutal Doom, Project Brutality) except maybe in visuals, so I don't think its worth paying too much for. At time of writing I see it discounted to 15 USD which isn't too bad.
7 / 10 ★★★★★★★☆☆☆
The game is pretty ok overall, however, despite promising a real save system 2 years ago the developers have yet to deliver and are instead working on a DLC. I don't always have time to complete an entire level in order for the game to auto save.
Awesome awesome awesome. Can't think of a single thing i don't love. What a love letter and what a homage to the genre. Top notch lads
It's cool I just kinda wish there was more levels.
Solid boomer shooter, nexus point system kind of takes away from the challenge but it's good to turn your brain off and just shoot some stuff with no fuss
This game had the potential to be perfect, but I can’t recommend it at all. It completely removes any sense of challenge, dying has ZERO consequences! Enemies stay dead, progress is never lost, and even your ammo gets replenished. What’s the point of playing this game?
Boomer shooters thrive on difficulty and risk, forcing players to improve. But in Prodeus, even on the hardest difficulty, death changes nothing. You just respawn as if nothing happened. It’s a huge waste of potential. The developers must add a checkpoint system.
It is a VERY VERY good game, with potential to be one of my favorites. However, any talk or discussion about PRODEUS always get overshadowed by the fact that this game has a very bizare save system that I do see the idea of, but it is implemented extremely poorly, and until that is fixed im not even gonna bother reviewing why the game itself is actually good, because the game is sadly broken and they should have focused on fixing this system instead of working on a DLC first. The game itself is very good though so I must say that I still recommend it. It is actually quite sad that something like this turns it from epic game to only a slight recommendation from me.
(This review will be updated once a new save system is added.)
Was deep into a level and had the audacity to pull up the map. I got stuck in the menu system and the only way out was to restart the level.
Putting this one back on the shelf since there's no telling when this will happen. Not worth it.
I've played many retro shooters over the last few years and Prodeus is the only one I keep coming back too.
I love the style, the soundtrack is phenomenal and the gameplay is up there with the all time greats.
I would argue there are too many weapons and sometimes the levels feel disjointed but these criticisms only knock it down 1 point on an otherwise Stellar game.
hold W and Left click = Win
Prodeus is one of the best, maybe the best shooter I have ever played. The graphics are very unique, they have this retro-vibe but still feel very modern. The guns are crunchy and incredibly satisfying to use. The soundtrack, composed by Andrew Hulshult, is an absolute banger and simply amazing. The level design is very well done and probably the best I have ever seen, especially in later levels.
However, what really sold this game to be was the Community Workshop. Honestly, the game might be worth only because of this feature alone. I have no clue by which muse they were kissed, but the people in the Community Workshop are geniuses. So many of those fanmade levels are incredibly creative and some cases BETTER than the actual main campaign. I really can't stress enough how amazed I am by the Community Workshop and the people who contributed to it. And the best part? There's hundreds of levels for you to through, so it never gets old! Half of my playtime in Prodeus only comes from playing those fanmade levels, I just love them this much.
Of course, as many others have already stated, the game does have its flaws and peculiarities you will have to get behind. I agree the respawn mechanic is very weird and not the best design decision, but honestly after playing for 70 hours I don't really mind all too much. The enemy behavior is also something you'll have to get accustomed to: Enemies don't just directly fire projectiles at you, but instead try to anticipate where you're going and fire their projectile based on your movement. Meaning: If you simply run in a straight line, you will ALWAYS be hit. At first, this seemed cheap to me, as if the enemies had aimbot or something. But as time went on, I learned to make my movement more erratic and unpredictable in order to fool the enemies' AI and make them completely whiff their attacks. In short, the game's unorthodox mechanics promote a very unorthodox playstyle which isn't really comparable to any other games I have ever played. However, figuring out and adopting this playstyle was actually a lot of fun and kind of felt like an achievement to me.
To summarize, you will have to meet the game halfway in some of its peculiarities if you want to enjoy it properly. However, this is what made the game so unique and enticing for me in the end. If you like shooters similar to DOOM, definitely pick this one up and try it out. I have personally not regretted it and found a game in Prodeus that I regularly come back to. Maybe, so will you.
A solid retro shooter (I refuse to use the term boomer shooter, it's probably one of the most inaccurate and obnoxious marketing terms in gaming other than "soulslike") that's basically just reskinned Doom. It has a pretty good variety of weapons and great gore and dismemberment effects which ticks off most of the boxes to get me to like a game. It also has perhaps the best level design I've seen in this genre with the caveat that the levels start to fall off in quality near the end of the game, specifically after you enter the portal to the Prodeus dimension.
My biggest complaint is that the game is way too easy thanks to its incredibly forgiving checkpoint system. You have infinite lives and all the enemies you've killed up until your death remain dead so there is virtually no penalty at all for death other than it hurting your score. The only exception to this is the final level which does away with checkpoints for some reason. Anyway if you have a pulse there's no reason to play this game only any difficulty below hard unless you're achievement hunting. 8/10
Maps are kinda confusing but is good
Visuals and Sounds: 4/4
Gameplay: 3/4
Story: 1/4
Replayability: 1/4
Note: Prodeus was fun, but the last quarter of the game got me bored, mostly because the game turned into a constant fight with a sworm of enemies that are most likely bullet sponges. The feeling of controlling the character and using the guns is good and nicely designed, but the game depends on those two most of the time, meaning that you use those mechanics a lot throughout the game.
The shotgun is good. Its meaty, has heft. Its loud and effective and turns enemies into a thin whatever the fuck they're made of paste. Then you get the games super shotgun, it has four barrels and does to dimensional invaders what should be done to dimensional invaders.
TL:DR Click-Clack Gun Makes Bads Splat! CLICK CLACK BLAM! CLICK CLACK BLAM!
One of my all-time favorite FPS games.
I greatly prefer this over Doom Eternal.
It's fast, the weapons make sense, the puzzles are fun and the platforming is a real challenge.
There are a great variety of enemies and the game is a serious challenge on the harder difficulties.
good
Doom lite
I found this in my library apparently I bought a few years ago, loaded it up.....and oh my LORD I seemed to have stumbled upon the greatest doomlike game ever made. It's a perfect balance of retro and new. When you kill stuff, the sound makes you want to kill more stuff. It's fast, responsive, smooth, and beautiful in a rock and roll, hellish sort of way. I can't believe the multiplayer servers are empty....what a hidden gem.
It's good. Feels a lot like Doom, but the weapons are lacking something. For example, the shotgun only seems to target a single enemy rather than spreading the damage,
Very fun, casual shooter
Prodeus – A Brutal Old-School Shooter with a Modern Twist
Prodeus is a love letter to classic ’90s FPS games like Doom and Quake, blending retro visuals with modern rendering techniques. The gunplay is fast, brutal, and incredibly satisfying, with chunky pixelated gore and a killer metal soundtrack that amps up the action.
If you love old-school shooters with modern polish, Prodeus is a must-play.
🔥 9/10 – Rip and tear in style!
i love this game, but be warned i don't think it has cloud saves. i swapped SSD's because my other one died and my 4 hour save profile got yeeted into the void.. not mad, just disappointed
Good boomer shooter
Solidly recommend this nu-doom boomer shooter. The entire game is built around what is clearly a boom shoot veteran's understanding of level design, good pacing which ramps up from welcoming intro maps to a challenging (and well thought out) climax.
Shout out to Civie-11 for spotlighting this game.
Really good game, solid shooting and exploration. When I played DOOM at 5 years old in the 90s this how it felt to play.
The base levels have some of the best boomer shooter map designs I have seen in a long time.
For those who are unhappy with the pixel design, you can reduce it and give the enemies a classic 3d - Model Style in the options.
Really like the design and feel. The developer seems to be very open to feed back and has a strong sense of game design.
The secrets are super fun and well designed. I also really like that they're distinct doors that look unopenable as opposed to just generic walls.
Barrel placement does feel lacking in my gameplay though. Finding myself wishing they were a little closer to enemies and that I could interact with and move them.
boring. level design is okay, weapons are fine, enemies are a design change away from getting dmca'd by id. only worth playing if you are OBSESSED with retro shooters.
God damn I love this game. It kicks Doom Eternals a$$.
dope dope dope
Speaking from a critic perspective, still the best boomer shooter and is yet to be dethroned. (No, ULTRAKILL is not a boomer shooter)
It's just fun. Snappy and tight movement. I'm a completionist so going back and finding ores and secrets is fun for me. It's a rad game. I run other boomer shooters with CrossOver but I'm happy that it has Mac support.
I had much fun playing Prodeus. The game feels like the newer Doom games, but without all the tedious new mechanics which Doom Eternal had. Prodeus really shines in its core discipline: the gunplay. You have a good amount of weapons to choose from, and they all feel powerful. The gameplay is mostly action-packed, the combat feels really great. The levels are big, often with lots of verticaluty, but aren't labyrinthine at all. In comparison to other boomer shooters, navigating the levels in Prodeus never becomes a drag. The retro look is nice, the energetic soundtrack is the perfect musical vackdrop for the frantic action. If you like boomer shooters, Prodeus is a sure bet. I definitely recommend it.
The game has a phenomal artstyle, great sound design and good feeling weapons.
Sadly, the gameplay loop feels very bad. It is overall hard to describe, but it's one of those games where i only played it for 6 hours yet it feels like I spend years on this thing just trying to get through.
I ended up not having enough fun to actually finish it.
Great game and super fun! it's basically Doom 2 gameplay with Doom 2016 style level design and Half-Life weapon cycle. Awesome graphics and tons of gore. Checkpoint system unfortunately sucks and the gameplay loop does get a bit stale at one point since the controls are so simple, and the final mission was quite anti-climactic, but still a great experience overall!
Prodeus has truly scratched my boomer shooter itch with its great controls, satisfying gunplays, and its uniquely highly detailed pixelart style.
If I needed to say anything negative about it, I'd probably only mention the enemy variety which is a little lackluster.
I can however forgive this, as the rest of the game feels just right, and I even went out of my way to find everything not because I had to, but because I wanted to.
it finally gave me my save file from early access so i didnt have to play through most of the game to beat it finally. great game although its the same enemy types every stage which can and or will get boring. i still enjoyed my playthrough
Best of the oldies ! I know that there is a wave of the so called "Retro Shooters" coming our way lately and I for one am fine with it , as long as it's quality over style. And boy does Prodeus has quality. The game is big enough to satisfy even those who try to finish a game is one playthrough and has a variety of enviroments and enemies. The guns feel realy awesome to use and have an impact plus a secondary mode. The game is just right as far as difficulty goes and after you finish the main campaign there still the community creations in multiplayer, single stage and even new complete campaigns. Prodeus is realy one of the best Retro FPS's to come our way and I recommended hands down to any FPS afficionado.
Great doom like shooter combining traits of the original with the 2016 redo.
Here's hoping the DLC does come out.
Old school shooter, with no frippery just fragging.
pretty simple, nice pixel art style though, the gameplay was choppy, almost like bad 1% lows or something, didnt run well in my experience which is a shame
