About the Game

In a world of myth and magic, those who aspire to immortality devote their lives to the sacred path of cultivation. They gather around sects, institutions which train their bodies, minds and souls to be worth eternal life. But in return for such great power, you must be willing to guard the balance between good and evil -- no matter the cost.
Unfortunately, greed is inherent to human nature, so it also blinds cultivators. Your master didn’t realize until it was too late, and the Taiyi Sect burnt to the ground for his mistake. Your brothers and sisters will never come back, but the Taiyi Sect can still be reborn from its ashes. Its seeds are scattered around Tiancang, waiting for you to find them. This is what your grandmaster would have wanted. You must do it for him ─ and for all those we sworn to protect.
Set in the fictional Tiancang era, Amazing Cultivation Simulator brings to you the magic of Asian mythology through a strategy game with strong xianxia nuances, a Chinese literary genre which is deeply influenced by Taoist and Buddhist concepts, as well as folklore and traditional knowledge on medicine and martial arts. Its gameplay is inspired by famous games like Rimworld and Dwarf Fortress, as well as The Legend of Shushan Swordsman and Martial Kingdoms.
As a grandmaster, you’ll bring the Taiyi Sect back to its glory days by training new apprentices, gathering knowledge and expand your domain through commerce and political alliances to gain influence over other sects. Also, you must protect people from supernatural dangers such as bad spirits, monsters and enchanted artifacts.

Update

- Yaoguai Awakening: As Qi energies resurge across the lands, the Yaoguai finally return to the mortal realm. Enlightened beasts start cultivation of their own, craving a longer life, but they still can't escape the Creed of Heaven or the Heavenly Tribulation.
- Taoist Animism: Even the most base of existences have the chance to attain spirituality as they subsist throughout the mists of time. If fortunate enough, some might even be enlightened by a master and turned into sentient spirits. After acquiring a human body through Body Genesis, they are all set to begin their cultivation.
- Physical Cultivation: Ancient Yaoguai never bothered to become enlightened or to meditate on the Creed of Heaven. They domineered the realm with their brutal physical strength. They follow their instincts and burn their own vital energy to refine their bodies with nature's essence, until they can even block flying swords and survive the Heavenly Tribulation with mere mortal bodies.
- Pet Training: Spiritual pets are special creatures with mighty forms and profound potential. They are also manifestations of the rules of nature. Learn to train your sect's pet, and have them serve your needs.
- More Plotlines: As the ancient Yaoguai return, the realm of cultivators will witness an unprecedented upheaval that shall spare no creature. But is it a blessing or a curse?
- Updated Tutorial: In the Yaoguai Uprising update, we made a complete, step-by-step tutorial to help new players learn all the controls and game systems so that everyone can experience the fun of cultivation.
- Encyclopedia: All kinds of items, laws and monsters are recorded here. You can reflect on your journey and also anticipate new adventures.

- Beast Siege: The Phoenix, Jiao-dragon and Torch Dragon have all awoken. Threatened by the invasion of the three mighty ancient beasts, will your sect be able to survive the trials that await?
- Roaming Sages: To hunt ancient beasts, one must become a true cultivation champion. Myriad mysterious sages from different sects start roaming the world far and wide. To your sect, this shall be both an opportunity and a brand-new challenge.
- Elemental Medicines: The planting methods of dozens of powerful elemental herbs have been found. A storeroom full of potent elemental medicines is a dream no longer!
- Building Rotation: Build your sect as you like.
- Animal Farming: You can now feed paralyzed animals, using their favorite food as bait to try and tame them.
- Feng Shui Relic: Regular items may have stats that make them a Feng Shui Relic.

- Explore the World: Almost the entire world is yours to explore. Cultivators can travel the lands over to find hidden treasures and face secret challenges.
- Sect War: Except for the Daemonia Temple, all the sects now have their own bases. Countless treasures, ancient formation diagrams, forgotten rare artifacts and magnificent buildings can all be found within.
- Interactive World: NPC sects now interact with each other, with consequences for their power and influence which constantly shift to create an ever-changing world of cultivators.
- Formation: A complete Formation consists of one cultivator acting as the Pillar and several others as Auxiliaries. By searching for manuals and meditating on the Creed of Heaven, cultivators can learn to become new types of Pillars and Auxiliaries that connect with each other to create Formations.
- Sub-Spirits: Cultivators that have achieved the Primordial Spirit state or above can train, study secret moves, take elixirs, meditate on the Creed of Heaven and challenge the Heavenly Tribulation to obtain sub-spirits. Sub-spirits can help cultivators with Primordial Spirits make great progress in their practice.
- Various Tribulations: Once their attainment and lifespan limits are reached, cultivators can take on the corresponding Heavenly Tribulations to break through and earn themselves new realms of progress.

- Cultivation Laws: Thousands of laws have been discovered in the realm of cultivators, each law worth studying and learning if only for its uniqueness alone. Learn the best of all the cultivation laws and push yourself to a higher state of existence!
- Path of Shendao: Collect beliefs from mortals to increase your power. Build a divine realm in the void to become your own god. Channel power from all the heavenly guards to craft your own sacred artifact.
- Mini Universe: A Bounded Universe created with elemental forces. Most regular items can be contained within it. You needn’t leave all your items on the floor any more. Just store them in the Mini Universe!
- Expand Your Sect: Send outer disciples out into the mortal world to create an agency for your sect. Help mortals solve their problems, earn their trust and loyalty and obtain local products.
- Commerce: As sects interact with each other, immortals will begin to trade more often. Obtain specialties exclusive to each sect, and meet mysterious merchants travelling around the world; even Ye Xuan the Gambler has opened an auction house.
- Each to Their Own: Disciples from all sects now have their own names with secrets, hobbies and stories to tell. Make friends around the world and uncover all kinds of interesting information.

Just look at my playtime
its alright
Had this on my wishlist for a while, sadly the tutorial is broken in several parts freezing the game, had to alt-f4 out....
In pursuit of immortality, my PP fell off. So I used it to pulverise the bodies of my foes.
Whether they enjoyed their final moments? We may never know.
Fun game put in all my hours in a two week span translations can be al little rough but very enjoyable if you take the time to learn evrything.
this is a amazing game for single players
Life before death.
Strength before weakness.
Gameplay before graphics.
Uhh, I'm not an addict. I SWEAR I'm NOT.
Number go up! Very nice.
what the fuck is going on. 10/10.
Came back to this game a while after first buying and playing it, can't say I've made it anywhere to any degree whatsoever but I can say this much: if you enjoy seeing progress finally pay off after a long time of cluelessly trying to do the right thing, you should give the game a shot!
I have 600+ hours on GOG, then i bought it again here for the much easier modding. Game is amazing and i can't recommend it enough. Be aware that it's difficult starting out. lot's to learn
Chinese Dwarf Fortress, but add in Elemental Tai Chi
So I've racked up my hours on cultivation simulator and I think I'm gonna give it a soft recommend. It's like a weird hybrid of Rimworld, Pokemon, and old flash RPGs. It's obtuse, and weird, and it's based on ancient chinese alchemy that was disproven like 800 years ago or something but it's charming and there's a lot of kooky and fun interactions. The writing is translated not well, not so poorly that there's much confusion aside from "Qi Range" and "Qi Distance" but not so well that any of the I'm sure flowery metaphors, references, and asides make any actual sense to me. Still, it's possible to make a poop, invest incredible time and energy into converting that poo into a living breathing human, then guide them on a path to ascend to godhood from their admittedly shitty beginnings and I think that's neat.
There is a lot to love about this game. There is a unique rimworld-like main interface, you use Feng Shui to build cultivation rooms, the world is a good wuxia/xianxia setting with plenty of things to do.
Unfortunately, the core concept of the game is not done well. You spend the entire game building your characters up into invincible fighting gods - and there is basically nothing to fight. While a good Xianxia story combines fighting and cultivation, this game is 99% cultivation until the very end, when you are thrown into a difficult fight and you have either made your dudes powerful enough to win or you die.
It's just a weird balance and ultimately unsatisfying - spending dozens of hours making the best fighters possible but never actually fighting anything.
I get mad at buildings with more than one door now.
For clarity, I reviewed negatively on Xbox as it was a terrible port at the time but the game itself is one of my favourite time crunches so it's only fair to do a review here too. Can confirm issues with Xbox port don't exist on Steam version.
This game takes a lot of time and patience but figuring it all out is part of the fun; if you're into donghua or wuxia type stories then this is your kind of game. It was made by a small team so it can be limited at times (more of a settlement manager than a cultivation simulator but it's still there) but the detail in building up a sect and at the same time managing the different kinds of cultivators is well done, not overwhelming but definitely a lot to keep track of.
You will need google and the Wiki a lot, there's also a community discord for more hands-on assistance; honestly some of the documentation is either outdated or worded in a weird way but in taking your own notes and comparing it all starts to come together in cool ways. Mods are supported, and many of the Chinese ones have been translated, making the overall experience pretty solid. There's also an in-game menu (realms) to create your own custom or hacked items/characters to play any way you want with any start you can think of but i'll warn you it gets pretty technical and mathy, mixed with over-complicated translations, once again once you've read into it and done it a few times it's easy. Also many of the translation issues have been dealt with through game updates or community mods.
Personally the feature of Feng Shui management, and the way a room is crafted effects it's usefulness, aren't brand new mechanics, but unique enough that I'm more or less addicted. Definitely worth the money if you're into Chinese cultivation, settlement management, or watching numbers get higher because you did a thing.
i dont get it. I literally just use mods and prayers. I feel like god but like you know, old testament, like wtf do i even do, these people are idots. Seriously i modded and OP character and he still got wrecked by idiots...sound familiar?
yes, i very much recommend this game, i just dont want to suffer alone, please suffer with me.
Well its too good to stop now!!!
I have learned way to much stuff about Chinese mythology and feng shui from this game. 10/10
fun game
negative review for a management game not being single character is some dubious activity
Amazing game and very captivating if you spare some time to do a bit of research on some concepts. Talking to npc's to find more about the story is very janky and translation is weak. But if you don't care about the story much (which is also time-sensitive in game) it's quite interesting game.
I would love to recommend this game to other players.
I can also fully recommend the game to chinese-speaking players.
Unfortunately, this game is not translated properly for the English language. As such, it is literally unplayable. As a huge webnovel reader, yes, the translation is worse than the partial translations that pop up on the MTL sites. This is for both the conversations AND the instructions.
As a huge fan of the Wuxia Civilization novels, art and games, I would love to play this game from the perspective of a single person instead of a sect, and to be able to play the game in the English language. These are my full hopes for Amazing Cultivation Simulator 2.
most complete cultivation game out there. the best . maybe not, but is definately good.
I have next to no idea what I'm doing. 10/10
I don't understand anything. i am confused. i don't get it. but i've played it for 18 hours so far?
first cult doomed, first leader died. then a cat came and enjoyed hanging out, with the other members. another member died. another cat came to hang out with the new leader. the new leader died.
the 2 male cats slept by the decaying corpse. cult dead, cats sad. fengshuei is serious stuff!
10/10 game. i don't understand anything but will continue to confuse myself with this game for a few hours probably. you could say this game is Pu-Erh-Tea-Nice!
There are a couple of places in the tutorials that completely freeze the game and are impossible to complete.
Every negative review about this game is probably correct. It's buggy, annoying, obtuse, badly translated and also crack cocaine. It's basically unplayable without mods and a wiki open on the side. I cannot stop playing it. I physically cannot turn it off. I have encountered several thesis-sized google docs explaining random subsystems I've barely interacted with. I've read all of them and understood maybe half of one. ONE OF THEM WAS ABOUT PLANTING TREES.
I have never had more fun optimising and micromanaging in a game, and I'm so deep in the paradox money drain I get flashbacks every time a random youtuber uses the stellaris ost. The willingness of this game to just let you try something again is absolutely amazing for my brain. It lets you fuck up, get stuck and learn while not making these things feel game-ruining. You slowly piece together the best way to do things and figure out how to fund and implement them. Then you find out about an obscure mechanic that could make it slightly more optimal and the next thing you know it's 6am and you need to leave for work.
I had a nightmare the other day about my risky rabbit yaoguai recruit not surviving tribulation. I DONT HAVE A RISKY RABBIT YAOGUAI RECRUIT. My sect leader has a giant cat mount because it's cute even though it's tier 1 and absolute ass. My dedicated artifact crafting snake lady has a minor error in her skill tree that doesn't affect her crafting in the slightest and I'm heavily considering giving her a nirvana pill. My brain is being rewired in real time. Someone send help.
There's so much to learn but it's fun.
epic game for epic gamersssss super easy to learn too and epicky fun
Rimworld + Martial Art > 8.5/10 quite deep gameplay
the feng shei in this review is slightly off. my house has burned down
haven't played it yet because it's genuinely overwhelming much like Kenshi so i usually just open the game and watch Sseth videos.
This game was far beyond my capabilities
I can finally ascend.
Rimworld, but with a wuxia theme. A bit of a steeper learning curve than most colony simulators, but it's a ton of fun and gets super in depth. One of my favorites.
Time suck for sure
Accurate china simulator
Educational. And much like real life there are so many buttons to press all the time. Click on your friends. Make them get into smithing because your beloved parakeet will freeze to death if you can't craft enough things with the fire element in the winter to put near them.
Call them. Make it happen.
A game that shouldn't be as fun as it is.
This is one of those games you spend hours learning the mechanics... Then you discover the wiki and spend more time deep diving into the mechanics... Then you find the Discord and search the massive archive of conversations on various topics you always wanted to know.. Finally, you discover a few mods you would like to add in game along with some home brew cultivators for your next run and voila 500+ hours in game.
One of my favorite games to come back to and play, try new strategies, or just hope for a bad ass roll at character creation and go with it. Nothing sucks more than your favorite mortal getting a heart attack just before you enlighten them or the random demon creature assault while your main defense force is out gathering and your mortal sprouts just get killed. Don't forget the rude guests you get that are never satisfied while visiting or the endless searching for a specific NPC.
My recommendation is buy, buy, buy, and spend hours absorbing the Chinese fantasy of Xianxia and Wuxia elements. Take a break from European fantasy.
10\10
Very Confusing rewarding game
Amazing Cultivation Simulator is tiring but fun. I’d recommend it to people with plenty of free time who are committed to learning its mechanics. If you don’t take the time to understand the game, it can punish you severely. Even with 200 hours of playtime, I still have a lot to learn. It’s a game that rewards your patience in understanding it.
Amazing Cultivation Simulator is a niche gemstone that has been polished by its creators.
Now as a community we need to polish the forums and video guides about the game.
Sadly I cannot recommend this game as I play on a 3 monitor setup and I cannot play using the 4k monitor. Trying to do so causes the main menus buttons to become unclickable at above 1080p and the only way I was able to fix it was to use steam to force the game to close, unplug my 4k monitor restart the game which forces it into 1080p if it was above that, go into the system settings and click on and confirm 1920x1080 then once again restart the game.
Having that much issue trying to get back into the game is ridiculous simply because it can't function either at 4k resolutions or can't work with monitors of differing resolutions. What I was able to play is enjoyable but having my primary gaming monitor become a secondary for one game that OFFERS 4K resolution is stupid beyond belief. If this gets fixed I will be more than happy to remove this review and replace it with a more positive one.
I have no idea what's going on.
Bad Translation.
Couldn't complete several tutorial steps due to bugs
