Cute game! The main appeal for me was the art and the very relaxed nature of the game. If you're looking for a conflict based game, this will not be for you. Simple and full of spirituality and a love for life. My main complaint would be in the backtracking, as the load times aren't as snappy as I would hope for. But I enjoyed the characters, for as one note as they are. Very quick and relatively easy puzzles. I liked the charm of the dialogue.
This game was very sweet. I enjoyed it a lot. It is short and not very difficult, but a lovely story, relaxing, and worth an evening's entertainment for just a couple dollars. I hope the developers make more games available in English. I would be interested to see what they do!

A little challenging puzzle point and click with beautiful artwork and a sweet storyline. I thoroughly enjoyed it. There were a couple puzzles I temporarily got stuck on, but after a bit of searching and stuff I saw things with new eyes and was able to go forward. If it helps, the dragons will tell you the colours (you need to find the magpies first before you can complete the song, as well as talk to the fish lord.) You also need to move the statues and there's a hint in the in-betweens to where you need to go, the missing crane is also in the dark, so this will help yo finally finish that side quest too.
Definitely an interesting game, also definitely not everyone's cup of tea.
Personally I didn't find the puzzles all that challenging, but still had fun while playing, even if it was a lot of wandering :D
If you enjoy short Point&Click games, with nice art and an interesting story(at least I think it's interesting), than I would recommend buying it, especially if it's on sale!
I wasn't too sure what I'd think, but I ended up enjoying this. The pixel art was superb, and the spiritual aesthetic was very interesting to me. The text speed is very slow which bothered me at first, but I think that since it's a small and straightforward game it makes more sense to take it slow and try for a more meditative experience rather than rushing through.
This game is super relaxing and cute and emotional. If you are having a bad day, I reccomend you play Hoyeonjigi. It's a comforting story about love- love for your friends, love for your siblings, love for those you haven't met and love for life. I reached the ending and it made me incredibly joyful!

I like the look of this game so I thought I'd check it out. I like the score, art and general story idea but I was concerned when I started playing. It was very disjointed and not really engaging. Every screen is nearly a still image but I decided to still give it a chance. That was until I spent nearly twenty minutes trying to solve a puzzle that had no clues or indication what the puzzle actually was. I soon decided it just wasn't worth it so I quit. It's too bad because I really wanted to like this game. Really not worth paying money for. If it was a free game I'd give it a bit more credit but sadly I cannot.
Extremely cute and fun adventure game where you follow a water strider through Korean Folklore to deliver a flower to Buddha. Beat it in 1 hour and it was an hour well spent, well worth the few bucks I spent on it.
I'ts alright for what I played of it. I haven't completed it and don't think I will ever do, I just don't feel like it.
The beautiful graphics only serve to disguise an exceptionally boring game.
The visuals are wonderful, so one would think the rest of the game would be as intricate. It is not. The gameplay is just chores, exclusively just chores. Talk to one thing, it wants you to go somewhere else and interact with something before it will let you progress. That is almost the entire game is just back and forth chores, will a rare simple puzzle here and there.
The music doesn't fit at all. There's nothing atmospheric about its composition, it's just music. Music which changes to different tracks based on the location with there being no logic towards why each track is played in each place. You have this really solemn cute world but the music is just, whatever somebody could come up with.
The dialogue is absolutely monotonous. The translation is readable but still noticeably translated, but nobody has anything interesting to say. The dialogue is void of passion or purpose, each conversation just being a boring normal every day conversation one would have with random people you are trying to get information from or random people obstructing your way forward. This reads like something written hundreds of years ago back before humans were capable of being genuinely creative, and considering everything in the game is mostly just based off mildly fantasized real life concepts the lack of creativity is quite consistent.
Stopped playing early, because every interaction is just a chore and every conversation is completely boring.
Having one of the riddles a character gives you be a question about who developed this game; arrogant or immersion breaking, actually it's both.
Basically paying five dollars to see the art as there's no real gameplay here, no sense of atmosphere and no interesting story or even interesting dialogue period.

- absense of drama (which is the core of text-based adventure game)

학창시절 교과서에서 보던 미술작품들을 다시보는 건 흥미로웠지만 그 흥미는 5분 이상 가지 않았음.. 어드벤처 게임으로서 매력이 전혀 없고 기대되거나 긴장되는 게 없음. 양작들 보면 어드벤처 게임 특유의 로우페이스는 어쩔 수 없더라도 대화문을 재미있게 꾸미거나 재미있는 상황 재미있는 캐릭터를 등장시켜서 흥미를 유지하던데 이건 고증을 너무 열심히 한 나머지 거의 원형 그대로라 그냥 그 문화재를 박물관에서 직접 보는대신 이 게임을 플레이해야 할 이유를 딱히 못느끼겠고 문화재를 맥락없이 많이 등장시켜서 뚜렷한 테마가 안느껴짐.. 박물관에서 전시를 해도 기획전시엔 주제별 묶음이 있는데.. 같은 반 친구가 만들었다고 보내주는 거였다면 정말 재미있었을 텐데 제작자와 개인적인 친분도 없고 + 스팀에서 돈내고 플레이하고 있는거다보니 영 기대보다 실망스러움.. 그리고 음악 너무 별로임. 학생 작품 아마추어 작품 분류였으면 재밌었다고 박수칠테지만 스팀 발매된 거면 공식발표인데.. 응원해주는 차원에서 사볼만 하다고 생각함
As someone who knows next to nothing about Korea or it's culture, I adored this little game. While it was longer than I expected (about an hour and a 1/2 with all the wandering I did), I highly enjoyed it and found it very sweet! The part with the dancing dragons and frogs made it for me~ If you're looking for a fun little point in click with soft pastels and a nice encouraging story, and very few puzzles, I would highly recommend this!
The only thing I would say that needs work is that the English translation can be a little muddled at times, and also the text appers it bit too slow for my liking (especially because I recorded a Let's Play for this game, made reading a little difficult). I will put up the link below for anyone who would be interested! ^w^
Another thing, when I put the name of the game into Google Translate (very reliable, I know) as Korean, to English, and back, not only did "Hoyeonjigi" translate to "treadmill" but it changed to a completely different phrase?? Can anyone give a bit of insight?
Very solid in all departments (okay, except for the translation). Good pixel art with some simple but lovely animations. The peculiar folklore characters are well-designed and often amusing (cute anime emoting included, naturally). A nice simple story. Some very light puzzling. The slightly eerie atmosphere is especially well done.
The only disappointment is that some NPCs and even some locations end up not being used for anything at all.
A couple of technical things that could be improved are Hoyeon always being positioned and facing the same way regardless of where she came from and having to wait for half a second after each action for the cursor to become active again.
If you want to play a short, simple puzzle game with cute visuals, I would recommened this! You get to meet interesting characters as well as learn about Korean culture. There is no story build-up, so play to relax and experience it. I got stuck once but that was for about 5 minutes or so. The price is fair for what you get.
Almost all elements appearing in the game are actual Korean cultural assets. Comfortable colors, cute characters (especially carp), difficult language play and retro emotional BGM. Gameplay is a simple point-and-click approach with a little puzzle, and playtime is not that long. (translated with google)
게임 내에 등장하는 거의 모든 요소들이 실제 한국 문화재를 모티브로 하고있다. 장점으로는 편안한 색감과 귀여운 캐릭터 (특히 잉어),난감한 언어유희와 레트로 감성의 BGM이 도드라진다. 게임 플레이는 약간의 퍼즐이 가미된 평이한 포인트-앤-클릭 방식이며 플레이 타임은 짧은 편이다.
