Absolutely great game. It was about 10 hours to finish the campain and easily worth it.
i really dont understand the bad rewiews i do think that the controlls werent the greatest but still one of the best games i have ever played
👍
First, the good: Game works for Quest 2, just link in. Game plays well, I generally enjoyed it. So why a negative review?
It hurts my eyes to play this game longer than about 30 minutes. I can play other quest 2 games until my battery dies with no fatigue, but this game just destroys my eyes! I re-purchased the game for desktop, if you don't want your eyes to hurt don't buy this in VR. If you like pain and destroying your eyes, get the game for VR.
This game is great fun. Needs a better tutorial though.
On paper, the premise is ideal: a combination of first person gameplay and RTS base-building. The RTSS (realtime strategy shooter) genre holds SO much potential, and it surprising nobody has made a spiritual successor to Battlezone 2 (which was lightyears ahead of its time). The main issue here is that controls are clunky at best, and combine this with the fact that this game is missing some generic RTS elements that would streamline gameplay. For instance, you can't assign groups of units to any sort of hotkey system (something like a rotary menu for unit management would be nice). This makes managing an army of any significant size too frustrating. This came out of EA too soon and needs some serious kinks ironed out, and due to the cumbersome gameplay I cannot recommend No King No Kingdom VR currently. Hopefully these minor gameplay quality of life issues get sorted because I WANT this game to be good.
Its awful.
I got about 3 hours in and i'm hooked. the graphics suck and the controls take getting used to but this game is amazing. Lots of stuff to manage, lots of upgrades avaiable and very big surprises. would love to see a game like this with a big developer backing it. would gladly pay 60 for a game like this with better graphics, sound and polish. for 20 bucks you will more then get your money worth. lots of modes and tonnes of content here, cant wait to play again
Agree with RichValentine review the controls are poor and the game is not intuitive. Sandbox mode is pointless. refunded.
cant really get into the snap turning and riding the elephant feels off , even to my VR LEGS. i want to like this for the premise, but it seems to undercooked honestly for me. love the premise though.
I'm not one that enjoys sitting down and playing a vr game. Tabletop simulator and other stuff like that I couldn't stand it, but this game is not only fun while sitting down. It gives you the need to sit down. You sit down in your chair playing this game you feel like the King. This game is nothing short of immersive. I had trouble coming out of it the first time I played. This game is 110% worth every penny!
Watch my VR video here https://youtu.be/rktZDUx7wPc
Played using the Oculus Rift S
The graphics isn't to my liking. I've never been a fan of the blocky lack of detail plan jane graphics look. I am aware that this doesn't bother everyone so I'll just say it's shark and colourful.
Audio is fine and joyful. No frills, but no ignoring sounds or music.
Gameplay is its most shining point. It's a decent RTS game with lots to do and enjoy. I truly loved playing it. From building house and farms to upgrading my troops.
I've only scrapped the basics in my video and I feel there is alot more to learn and do.
Recommend for those RTS lovers for sure.
this piece of shit game keeps putting me under the map forcing me to start a new game
this was one of those eh im bored lets give it a try purchases. well three hours in on my first time playing is a thumbs up from me. pretty easy to figure out though the tutorial doesnt quite cover as much as i think it should (descriptions of buildings would be nice). ran into a few bugs one was potentially game breaking. lower in content in some regards is how i felt while playing campain (only 2 units to fight with from your barracks, build houses, wait for item farm) didnt see much variation on the map think i had one special looking dragon that needed food to use. then i started sandbox mode and saw sooooo much more. i was extremely surprised still only 2 units in the barracks but the map which you can give basic size control on creation, was drastically different with possibilities for units to be allied with you and i believe other units can be unlocked but not 100% on that. joined the discord dev looks active and involved in the bug channel as well as general discussion so feeling good about future updates. all in all happy with my purchase at the 11.99$ price tag though i feel 20.00$ will have people complaining at that price point since it does still ultimately feel unfinished and yet has left early access. is missing features that seem obvious to have and yet has some that are obviously lacking in pretty much any game similar to this. seems like the dev has a different focus then others and thats something i like seeing for better or for worse, you be the judge, this game is different and i for one judge that for the better.
I love this genre of game so much and this game does it pretty well. I after playing just 4 hours i feel like I've only touched the surface of this game, i know there are more units to unlock new monsters to fight and tons of artifacts i have yet to play with. this game is like a mount and blade where you get to build you own kingdom. Games where you can command and fight with your armies have always been really cool to me. This game has not received the credit it deserves, I would love to see this game continue to develop with newer models more commanding mechanics, and more minor fixes to perfect the game.
The controls for this game are horrible. Very confusing, and this game was released in 2017, and they still have the controls issues? I am using the HTC Vive, and trying to use the grips while at the same time on the other controller using the trigger is awkward at least. Why can't you simplify these controls? Unfortunately, I will need to return this one.
would be nice to have a bow , not only a sword , the elephants looks very very nice , good job
Crush your enemies. See them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of the women.
This is the kind of game I expect the future of Virtual Reality games to follow. Well designed mechanics and interesting concepts of kingship. While the animations and controls are obviously imperfect, this is definitively a step in the right direction. If you enjoy base building games with pawn control and have a VR headset, this is definitely a must have game for you. There are several game-breaking bugs, a number of which come about as a result of the map not functioning as intended, however, it is still my favorite VR game released to date.
