pathing is ass and unit responsiveness to commands is cancer this game could have been amazing but here we are

It's actually a very good game especially with regards to controlling individual soldiers and the best part is when you can micro-manage them, LOL.

If you came here because you love Company of Heroes, turn around and walk away. This game is far more about realism. Your units can run out of ammo, which must be replenished using supply trucks or looting corpses. Tanks and AT guns are glass cannons. Just like real life, there is no in-game tutorial except for some YT vids by the devs.

Some of the missions are fun, many of them involve stealth which is not fun in this game at all, and others are just downright evil. I mean I can neither recommend the game nor say run away, just set your expectations. Expect to micromanage units A LOT and know that there's a steep learning curve. This isn't what you play after work to shoot Nazis and relax; this is a job, but if you're into that then you may find this game very rewarding.

Update: I discovered there is a tutorial button in the game that opens what is probably supposed to be a webpage but nothing happens, black screen. So they tried, maybe? But seriously, I sunk another 14 hours into the game, learned some more mechanics, got better but it's still a struggle. Normal mode is you pushing up the map in a skirmish and everything is going great, but if you push at the wrong place or the wrong time then your army gets wiped. Forget about recovering because you can't get CP fast enough to build more units, so save scum it is. If you saved of course.

They took away single player skirmish against AI and placed it behind a 10 dollar DLC. I never write reviews but I will never recommend a game that takes content away that was already in the game when I purchased it just to have to spend more money to access it again.

A fantastic WW2 RTS that deserves to be called a classic. The game offers a great variety of units from 5 different nations. you've got everything from a massive selection of tanks to diverse infantry types and support equipment.

I’m more of a single-player person, so I can’t comment on multiplayer, but the campaigns provide 10 missions per country. However, there are only four mission types: defend, stealth, assault, and ambush. so things do start to feel repetitive after a while. Once you get to the second nation, you’ll notice the mission structure doesn’t really change much. That said, the well designed maps and solid AI keep things engaging, making each mission feel unique in its own way.

with deep tactical gameplay but with a bit of repetition in mission types, non the less this game deserved a spot among the classic WWII RTS titles.

Still Great after 10 years. Lots of hours worth of content in the base game and many mods to play.

Have you ever needed software that specifically lets you recreate large scale battles from Star Wars? I guess I did.

Thanks to a decent modding community, this game still manages to hold up over 10 years later.

Incredibly fun RTS game with a lot of different strategies. The artillery is a little annoying and you need to micromanage them but other than that amazing game. It has good single player campaigns as well as fun multiplayer PVP/campaigns that allow for some pretty great gameplay. The modding community is also pretty huge with decent mods like free for all deathmatch, Vietnam at War, and Star wars which should only be played single player because the droids are a little bugged.

Love this game for the Star Wars Galaxy at War mod which is great for epic Star Wars battle simulations.

Fun game, recommend getting mods like Galaxy at War to make the game more enjoyable, but the assists already in the game are great too.

I'm getting crashes pretty frequently on the first and second mission, that I'd pretty much gave up on the game after repeated crashes. Anyone have any experience with this issue and a possible fix?

+To behave like an adult and give MoW some positive reinforcement, it has 1 borderline redeemable quality which is the very extensive variety of WW2 era units. Both the mechanized and infantry unit designs seem to be what the devs spent the most time on because they are impressive to say the least. I feel many people are able to overlook the plethora of flaws because of this fact alone. Also each unit has its own inventory allowing the usage of many different items which can also be looted from enemies, providing some interesting strategic combinations. If controlling a cool German Jagdpanther unit along with the thrill of producing other historically accurate WW2 era units is enough for you to have endless fun, then MoW: AS 2 is definitely for you.

-If you want to play an actually fun, well designed WW2 RTS Strategy game though, CoH (Company of Heroes), CoH2 or even CoH3 are approximately 76 quadrillion times better than MoW: AS 2 and precisely 1 quintillion times better than MoW: AS 1. If you already have the CoH collection in your Library but are seeking another war RTS game to have some fun with, perhaps try out the Call to Arms games. They offer a much more dynamic experience with an interesting FPS mode that makes the game really fun I think. Map design for CTA and sequels is brilliant and win conditions don't feel like the same monotonous old trope. It has a bit of a learning curve at first but even struggling to figure things out and failing in CTA is 689 googillion times more fun than doing anything MoW games have to offer, which isn't much... like you get poopy campaign, no online, and skirmish with DLC purchase, like what an insult. Anyways, since I now feel like a cheap suit CTA salesman, I will end this review how I started it by saying these few simple words: COMPANY OF HEROES (1,2 or even 3) TAKES A COLOSSAL DUMP ON ANY AND ALL WW2 RTS GAMES ON THE STEAM MARKET SO IF YOU ALREADY HAVE THEM AND AREN'T SATISFIED, THEN RE-VISIT THEM AND LEARN TO CHERISH THEM. THEY ARE BALANCED, HAVE VERY FEW BUGS, SMOOTH MECHANICS, FUN SKIRMISH MODES WITH DYNAMIC GAME MODE SETTINGS, GOOD MAP DESIGN AND ONLINE COMMUNITY IS GREAT. I COULD THINK OF MANY MORE REASONS BUT THESE ARE MY TOP 6.

Hi everyone who is reading this! This game is amazing! The features of this game are incredible. Especially, the GEM editor. The realism of this game and the storyline is also good. Also, the game with mods such as Star Wars Galaxy at War improve the game completely by adding NEW characters and maps. I would rate this 8/10.

The game is awesome, the idea of keeping skirmish mode behind a paywall is insane though. Greed rather than business strategy.

This might be the best WWII RTS game I've played, and one of the two best RTS games I've ever played (alongside Napoleon: Total War).

The destruction is great and the combat is great. I enjoy looking at individual soldiers and listening to the randomly generated dialogue. Gives me ideas for conversation at my next reenactment. This isn't to say the game is without its flaws. The regular campaigns can get a little generic or monotonous after a while. But hey, that's what mods are for. I can't remember the last time I played this game without the realism mod to spice things up.

All in all, great game. 8.5/10 Would recommend.

why is there no AI in majority off the offline skirmish gamemodes? it makes no sense and is incredibly poorly thought out... otherwise the game is pretty ok, similar gameplay to gates of hell ostfront but with muuuuuch cheaper dlc

I wanted to like this game, it seems a bit clunky but I'm more than willing to work around that to enjoy a multiplayer military game session. Unfortunately, there is no UI scaling and it seems the developers aren't implementing this. Even going lower than 1080p doesn't help. There are also non-contrasting colors like dark orange MP over a dark grey background. I can't read the UI or descriptions, so this is unfortunately completely unplayable for me. Refunded.

the , a Tetrarch tank would not be able to survive a sustained engagement with a Panzer III the Tetrarch's thin armor and small gun would be easily penetrated by the Panzer III's larger caliber weapon, making it highly vulnerable in a direct fight WHY IS IT ABLE TO DESTROY MY PANZER 3 IN A DAM LONG RANGE ENGAGEMENT

you cant play single player (vs AI) unless your purchase airborn DLC and even then its quit confusing and annoying game itself is good idk why you devs being such a goblins over the game and making us hate such a good game

the game is really good i have played from 2020 to 2025 and i love it there has been times where i have stoped playing it but i do have around 1k hours across 2 acounts

The greatest game ever created for the PC. By a mile. With the mods there are endless scenarios of victory and defeat. Been playing since 2014, 8000 hours and still play every day over and above my hundreds of other games.....

An awesome strategy game that manages to hold its own against the newer games in the genre. Mostly a game to challenge friends to, easy to figure out if you care. fun game

I have better things to do then stumble through a strategy game's control scheme and cryptic squad system without a tutorial.

Still love this game.... hate it online when THAT annoying person sets his German team to max and thinks they are the best player on the game! I call them spoilt little mummy boys that can not bear the fact of playing a real strategy game. WW2 didn't have many King Tiger tanks, so when that mummy's boy has 3 on the field (just leave as he will always win, so leaving annoys them). Game can appear to be unbalanced, especially when trying to take out King Tigers (no wounder Germany got banned from building tanks after the war for a few years).... Iv seen a lot of these tanks etc in real life and playing this game learns you what does what!!

Down side is trying to find a online game. Back when it first came out used to have to wait for the person with the slowest computer to load before game started (some funny comments get made to them haha)

Great game for a strategic game play. It's ever better with buddy's of yours! This game is modable as well which can inchance your experince or make the perfect game your looking for. From star wars to veitnam mods you can fully customize the game to suit your needs or wants. Highly recommended game for more strategic players like my self.
