Players in Wrench use a variety of tools to disassemble and repair an extremely detailed car assembly. There are three chassis currently offered in the game. A hatchback streetcar, and two licensed kit cars. Our philosophy behind Wrench is to allow players to fail, get lost, and do things incorrectly. We use limited 2d UI and prefer world interactions. There is no automated inventory system, players must keep track of all of their parts, and we provide organizational tools to help players manage their spaces. The garage space has customizable workbenches, flooring, and storage.
Wrench is a traditional desktop keyboard and mouse game with a VR mode for Oculus, Index, WMR, Vive, and Vive Cosmos (experimental).

False Co op Hopes. Can only do sand box in co op. other than that, Games is Decent. Need to switch to beta in order to play co op sandbox mode.
yes
Worked for 7 hours 45 minutes rebuilding the bottom end of an engine. It took that long because I replaced the head gasket then rebuilt it only to realize I didn't have to, then after I rebuild everything, I find 2 bolts. I want to kill myself. 10/10 would suffer again.
Terrible peformance, i love this game but i couldnt play it because of the freezing a bugs. Has great potential though
I think I'm too stupid to get it
I bought this game almost a year ago, saw the potential, but shelved it.
Checked back in, and the dev has made huge progress adding every bit of QoL that I was looking for. Finally feels amazing to hop into VR - even at the desk - and bang out a job. This is a small dev team that's really listening and delivering on the Early Access model, working slowly but steadily towards a truly great wrenching experience.
honestly i like it a lot, I get to learn some new stuff and just relax and listen to some music while i repair cars. I can't wait for what they have next to come. and i would totally recommend this to any person that wants to learn the basics. I do wish they had some videos instructing of what to do cause sometimes i'm just clueless where a part is. but still, 100% worth the buy if you like to just relax and learn something useful out of it.
baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad
Keyboard/mouse controls are a pain. I'm sure the game has some great potential, but when its so hit and miss just to try pour engine oil into a funnel, I can't see any point in trying to play the game. I'll give it another 6 months and try again, but I see no improvement from when I first bought the game.
complex
good way to learn without spending thousands
nice game
Good game with potential to become great. I would like for them to add more realistic tools. I would also like to be able to do some of the beginning jobs like oil changes when i progress to the end jobs like engine rebuilds; sprinkle some easy jobs with hard jobs.
Awesome, detailed mechanic game. I played some CMS and just wanted a bit more and this delivered.
Looking forward to seeing the direction it takes and getting some new parts to play with!
If you've ever wanted a hands-on, hyper-realistic car-building experience without the frustrations of real-world mechanics, Wrench is your game. As someone with hands-on experience working on cars, I was immediately struck by the game’s accuracy—down to the finest detail. The engine, based on a 2000 Mazda Miata, is superbly modeled, and even the in-game cars draw inspiration from the Bauer Catfish, making it feel like you’re working on a unique custom build.
Wrench stands out because it teaches you nearly every detail of building a car from the ground up. From tightening bolts to assembling complex engine parts, the game doesn’t shy away from the intricacies, but it leaves out some of the annoying real-life hurdles. There’s no need to deal with the weight of heavy parts, worry about seized bolts, or bother with silicone joining parts and applying Loctite on bolts. Instead, Wrench lets you focus on the craftsmanship and satisfaction of piecing together a vehicle, making it an enjoyable yet educational experience for enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
In future updates, it would be exciting to see Wrench expand its engine options, perhaps adding an EJ257 motor or even smaller engines, like those found in lawn mowers, to diversify the range of engine maintenance and builds for the mechanically minded people. This variety would make Wrench even more versatile for car enthusiasts looking to explore beyond the standard engines.
great game
It's a really good game so far has lots of potential when it has more content
yes.
great game but can get very confusing
Super detailed car maintenance. In early access but better optimized than most AAA games.
You can learn real life skills here. It is a niche game but for any car enthusiasts it's a must buy.
The beta branch has even more in depth simulation and more is coming. Also getting multiplayer which works decently well (only had a few bugs but it's an early version).
I'd say 9.5/10 and well worth the full price.
Love this game , need to know some stuff about cars to play
Genuinely a good game that is still developing. The VR support is incredible with the immersion being next level.
I'm glad to have joined the community.
Great game, just ran into heaps of bugs straight away.. I would order tools and get an empty box but my friend could see the tools?????????????????
I ordered a bin and couldn't see the bin but my friend could, and any items put in the bin would bug out on my screen??
apart from that I would of had a blast playing this game.
Ive only put 6 hours in this game but I love it! Pls support the devs and buy.
Realistic
Pretty cool game! As a mechanical geek myself, game is pretty sick. I've seen older videos and it has 100% improved over the time.
I wish the game was slightly more realistic though. Like an actual car crane model and not some yellow thing. Besides the QOL stuff this game is pretty good.
If you look at the price of any activision game then look at this game. It's obvious which one you'd buy
The best game in the genre, have a lot of potential, keep doing the work, it will be worth it.
if you want an actaully good game that shows how to work on cars this is your game ive played it for 4 hours and i would recommend to all my fellow cars nerds out there
for a simulator, it takes you further in depth than any other one currently out there
Cant wait to see what the final version looks like!
nice game evans chatting wassss
a lot of fun, cant wait for more stable branches and hopefully story mode with friends, that would be the best
I love this game too much.
This game seemed good. When i bought it already crashed on the tutorial.
ive got to give this game some points. This game is good dont get me wrong, just the crashing, some noise issues (no sound),
it was kind of wierd in VR.
Now i know this is in EA so i wont be critisizing too much, but considering the game has been in EA since 2018 (i think) its just not worth it, im wondering if it even will go out, and if it does, please fix some of the major issues :)
Most in depth mechanic sim ive played so far, its fantastic, hope the devs stick with it because it deserves it...
lot more too it that CMS, which i love, not much hand holding at all, if you know nothing about cars, it may not be for you, OR your gonna learn quite a bit...
fully recommended for those who have an interest in car mechanics...
Im loving this game so far, set out all the pieces to my first car and completely rebuilt it. Only thing that I dislike about this game is the races. For getting maybe up to 20k for 1st place on some races it aint worth using your beloved car thats gonna need a complete rebuild after a 1h race. Raise the rewards so races are worth going after.
I love this game, it is the most accurate representation of car maintenance/tuning I have ever seen in a video game, my only improvements to the game are the ability to crank and turn over engines to see if they run with modifications. I wish that when in VR play, the wrenches locked on to nuts and bolts better, since in my experience ratchets and breaker bars are nearly unusable in VR since they come off with little movement left/right. I'd love to see more parts added in general, but I'm sure that will come with time, the game is still in the beta branch and is a fantastic game at the moment.
Just got the game, sunk a couple of hours into it. enjoyed every moment of it, so much detail and so many intricate parts. UNTIL. the game crashes and of course there is no autosave or anything so ive lost all my progress. please fix this as this is extremely frustrating and i have no interest in touching the game again at the moment due to fear of losing my progress again.
Super realistic with some loopholes... I can get lost in this game for hours if I'm not careful.
Finally a game where I can work even after work, a revelation !
The beta looks very promising, I look forward with impatience to the next updates :D
i really, sincerely hope that the original type of mode is included. like running a shop in essence. i find myself going back to the original instead of playing the beta. its a bit more simplistic while being very in depth. i love how a new car will come in for a service and you have to complete it, gives you a goal. all that, while also being able to do everything else in the beta would be great. i hope there is a way to make it all a bit more streamlined though. trying to use an impact on a bolt just to read "socket is too small" and having to run through every socket over and over is tedious. at the very least show what size it is instead of "to small-too big" but god damn does this game have potential. i just hope it doesnt just completely give up the "shop" aspect and is still included along side building your car to be a racecar (or however this is aimed at being right now)
"Wrench" falls short of expectations, primarily due to its overwhelming complexity and lack of engaging content. While the game aims to deliver a realistic car mechanics experience, the steep learning curve can be frustrating for players who aren't already familiar with vehicle repair. Instead of feeling empowered, many may find themselves lost in the intricacies of engine components and tools.
The graphics, though functional, lack the polish that could make the workshop environment more inviting. Instead of immersing players in a vibrant world of car customization, it feels sterile and unexciting. The user interface, while user-friendly, often feels cluttered, detracting from the overall experience.
Customization options, although extensive, can quickly become tedious. The thrill of modifying vehicles fades when the process feels like a chore rather than an enjoyable experience. Additionally, the lack of a compelling narrative or diverse objectives leaves players feeling aimless, with little incentive to keep grinding through repairs and modifications.
Overall, "Wrench" may appeal to a niche audience, but for most players, the combination of complexity, lackluster visuals, and repetitive game play makes it a disappointing choice. If you're looking for a more engaging and accessible simulation, you might want to steer clear of this one.
its a good game but very hard
Awesome game for anyone that likes working on cars. I would wait to buy it because its a bit buggy right now but when it releases its absolutely worth it
I'd highly recommend the game.
It's very very realistic and fun, you need basic knowledge about cars tho otherwise you won't come far.
I love the details of this game, way better than CMS imo. Just hoping the game will get more attention so I can get V8 engines and a sandbox where you can build a car from scratch soon.
Really realistic, the better version of cms.
really learnfull, you can get a good view at how cars work
Genuinely one of the best car mechanic sims out there, sure it doesnt have tuff like Pro Demand or AllData to help you out but this is soooo much better than CMS18 and the new one.
Working on cars in VR is awesome, but the VR mode looks like its still in development, especially in the multiplayer mode. There was a lot of things de-synced and it was hard to ignore it when it occurred in about just every interaction I did to the car or tools. Also there's not a massive amount of things you can do right now, you can basically just change the tires, brakes, suspension, all of that plus engine building stuff. It's a bummer that in flat screen mode, the controls are quite wacky. I'll be keeping track of it's progress as I like the idea and I support it, and still recommend giving it a go, but don't expect a lot
