Players in Wrench use a variety of tools to disassemble and repair an extremely detailed car assembly. There are three chassis currently offered in the game. A hatchback streetcar, and two licensed kit cars. Our philosophy behind Wrench is to allow players to fail, get lost, and do things incorrectly. We use limited 2d UI and prefer world interactions. There is no automated inventory system, players must keep track of all of their parts, and we provide organizational tools to help players manage their spaces. The garage space has customizable workbenches, flooring, and storage.
Wrench is a traditional desktop keyboard and mouse game with a VR mode for Oculus, Index, WMR, Vive, and Vive Cosmos (experimental).

i go to work irl, work on real racecars.
i go home, play a game working on fake racecars.
repeat
10/10
Fun game, easy to understand and good graphics. Very much recommend
Best mechanic game ive touched and 1000x better than car mechanic simulator. The VR aspect of this game makes it amazing and no matter what way you decide to play its super interactive. Out of the time ive played between VR and desktop I do recommend VR more because I personally like interacting with each piece and the wrench. You still get the same experience either way though. Do be careful your tools might not save and transfer going from desktop to VR so prepare to spend a little money if that does happen.
Dope sim, can't wait till it's finished
Amazingly realistic and super fun. Excited for the full release of the game as this game has so much potential. Had to purchase this for my friend since this is amazing
Spent a couple hours figuring out how to assemble the exocet suspension with a friend in multiplayer, forgot to save, all our progress gone. spent another hour getting back to where we were, bought a dumpster to get rid of boxes, dumpster spawned under car, dumpster removed our car and thus all our progress. We have owned this game for a couple of days and it has already caused us a lifetime of trauma.
I highly recommend this game.
The game is still in early access and plays like one, there are a a lot incomplete areas and bugs. In screen mode, it does feels quite under whelming compared to MS 2020 but in VR mode is where the game really shines. There is a lot of potential and I hope the devs can finish the game. One big wish is to be able to start the engine and see the part moves like the real thing but I know that is a big ask!
Buggy. Tools still go missing despite the bug being supposedly fixed 2 years ago.
After tutorial as soon as i accept a job the game keeps crashing again and again and again and again... 30 $ to buy the lift 100 times very nicee
Spend 1 hour on fixing the engine just to forget to save. i fucking love this game
Game idea is good as a mechanic this is very fun l wish you could start the engine after doing a oil change as you would on a real car to ensure the oil has gone through the motor before sending the car out or turning the car on after a coolant flush top ensure the system has been bled. I also couldn't get past the 3rd job as the game kept crashing for one reason or another also when torquing the bolts to spec you cant go any lower than 30nm on the big ratchet but cant go any more then 16nm on the small ratchet so when l get a bolt that's 20nm l fail the level because "not torque to spec" and lose out on extra points and money, ill probably keep the game on the side until its had a few updates but the game is still fun with what little l can play. I don't recommend it be played/bought yet
this game is so funnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
buggy, overly complex

I hate to bash on a game that is clearly being well received and a labor of love - but to release "coop" in this state is crazy. Your game is ALREADY early access, but you must install the beta build to play coop. So is that... early access, early access? Once you get in there's ZERO audio, the scenery is not built around the garage location yet so there are a bunch of "visual blocking" dev boards all over, and your cannot even interact with the key to see what could possibly be wrong with this car in front of you that you're supposed to repair. After much googling my friend (who is just a flying robot in game) and I found out you're just supposed to take the whole car apart and rebuild it. Meh. This seems like it may have been pushed out to grab more funding from the coop crowd. Disappointing. No early access game should have a "beta" branch. The whole game is a beta...
i love everything about this game, i love playing it in vr until my head hurts and my feet hurt from playing it so much, i know i havent played it long but its really fascinating to me that you can level up and build and repair cars to the finest detail like how much torque to apply to a bolt
its a good game, it just gets repetitive seeing the same car but different colors the entirety of the game which is my only negative about the game, i feel like there should be more than one engine type and car type, if they do ever add that i'd definitely play it a whole lot more
10/10 engine/car building game
It is early access in all its glory, relaxing mechanic game
I would give it a 10/10mm, but I lost my 10mm, so 10/9mm it is
AMAZING DETAILED GAME! RECOMMEND!
luv this game just needs more engines and vehicles
Very fun and you learn a lot.
ong would not let me put timing belt on fuilll dumb game
game is amazing until you get to the oil pan and its bugged
Super cool i really like it but
-There is some bugs
-Need more engines /parts
But i can imagine is quite hard to make everything in a short time :)
Definitely the most realistic mechanic simulator i've seen. Awesome job!
unparalleled in the genre of video game car building. I was incredibly impressed by how well the game ran on my computer that has a graphics card equivalent of a potato, especially considering i could run it on max graphics with >100fps. The parts are incredibly detailed and the textures look superb, as well as the gameplay being addicting and almost downright educational due to the amount of detail the TWO DEVELOPERS have put in.
Overall, if this game is on sale, buy it because you won't regret it.
recommended for new mechanics and for fun
Honestly it's pretty good. Better than Car Mechanic Simulator 2021. All the parts, nuts, and bolts being tactile objects makes the game more satisfying than CMS 2021.
best car mechanic game!!!!!
One of the best VR games I've played. I can't wait for more content
i haven't played it much but so far from the 2 cars I've done its a really fun and entertaining game i spent 25 minutes taking apart the car just to realize i didn't need to at all
This game is awesome, obviously there are things that can be improved on, I was playing during Early Access but already an awesome game. It has a lot of detail and it is really fun, I can't wait for more!
At this time I would not recommend purchasing this game in it's current state. There are two different games. The game they are showing in their first preview video here on steam, is the beta version which has no objective attached to it. The BETA is where are all the cool tool variations are and the hatchback. But you cannot race a vehicle after building it and there are no jobs to complete like the production version.
The production game is no where near as detailed lacking any tool/vehicle variations. It does however have some jobs to complete and allows you build and maintain race vehicles but became stale after a bit.
Unfortunately this has been in development for years at this point and I am not sure we will ever see the beta merge over. If it does I will glady return and update this review but until then I would not bother.
car
False Co op Hopes. Can only do sand box in co op. other than that, Games is Decent. Need to switch to beta in order to play co op sandbox mode.
yes
Worked for 7 hours 45 minutes rebuilding the bottom end of an engine. It took that long because I replaced the head gasket then rebuilt it only to realize I didn't have to, then after I rebuild everything, I find 2 bolts. I want to kill myself. 10/10 would suffer again.
Terrible peformance, i love this game but i couldnt play it because of the freezing a bugs. Has great potential though
I think I'm too stupid to get it
I bought this game almost a year ago, saw the potential, but shelved it.
Checked back in, and the dev has made huge progress adding every bit of QoL that I was looking for. Finally feels amazing to hop into VR - even at the desk - and bang out a job. This is a small dev team that's really listening and delivering on the Early Access model, working slowly but steadily towards a truly great wrenching experience.
honestly i like it a lot, I get to learn some new stuff and just relax and listen to some music while i repair cars. I can't wait for what they have next to come. and i would totally recommend this to any person that wants to learn the basics. I do wish they had some videos instructing of what to do cause sometimes i'm just clueless where a part is. but still, 100% worth the buy if you like to just relax and learn something useful out of it.
baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad
Keyboard/mouse controls are a pain. I'm sure the game has some great potential, but when its so hit and miss just to try pour engine oil into a funnel, I can't see any point in trying to play the game. I'll give it another 6 months and try again, but I see no improvement from when I first bought the game.
complex
good way to learn without spending thousands
nice game
Good game with potential to become great. I would like for them to add more realistic tools. I would also like to be able to do some of the beginning jobs like oil changes when i progress to the end jobs like engine rebuilds; sprinkle some easy jobs with hard jobs.
Awesome, detailed mechanic game. I played some CMS and just wanted a bit more and this delivered.
Looking forward to seeing the direction it takes and getting some new parts to play with!
If you've ever wanted a hands-on, hyper-realistic car-building experience without the frustrations of real-world mechanics, Wrench is your game. As someone with hands-on experience working on cars, I was immediately struck by the game’s accuracy—down to the finest detail. The engine, based on a 2000 Mazda Miata, is superbly modeled, and even the in-game cars draw inspiration from the Bauer Catfish, making it feel like you’re working on a unique custom build.
Wrench stands out because it teaches you nearly every detail of building a car from the ground up. From tightening bolts to assembling complex engine parts, the game doesn’t shy away from the intricacies, but it leaves out some of the annoying real-life hurdles. There’s no need to deal with the weight of heavy parts, worry about seized bolts, or bother with silicone joining parts and applying Loctite on bolts. Instead, Wrench lets you focus on the craftsmanship and satisfaction of piecing together a vehicle, making it an enjoyable yet educational experience for enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
In future updates, it would be exciting to see Wrench expand its engine options, perhaps adding an EJ257 motor or even smaller engines, like those found in lawn mowers, to diversify the range of engine maintenance and builds for the mechanically minded people. This variety would make Wrench even more versatile for car enthusiasts looking to explore beyond the standard engines.
