Don't let the hours played fool you, that's just my masochistic completionist at work. I feel like I should have a degree in entomology from the sheer amount of bugs the game has, the lagging in particular is bad which for a time management game the impact to gameplay is massive.
The new format of multiple challenges per level is tedious, particularly because it's the same handful of challenges that repeat over and over with very little variety. The challenge of the game itself was lacking also, with the only difficulty occurring due to glitches rather than the game itself.
Overall it's disappointing for a GameHouse game, the story and visuals were serviceable but it doesn't make up for the unfortunate state of the gameplay itself.

Game feels very rushed and lazy. Lots of graphical issues that felt like the devs didn't even play this game to check if there was anything wrong with it. This is by far the worst GameHouse game on Steam.
Gameplay was not good. There are 55 levels with each level having 2 extra challenges so a total of 165 levels. There are only like the same 5 challenges repeated over the 6 chapters while other GameHouse games have over 50 different challenges. There's 100+ challenge levels in this game btw. Some of the challenges don't even feel like challenges. Sometimes the game will bug out during these challenges causing the level to not end properly and having to redo the entire level.
Story was meh. It was fun to see Sally and Francois from Sally's Salon to make an appearance.
I got this game because I enjoy getting all the achievements in the GameHouse games. Completion is very easy for those wanting to get all the achievements.
This one is the most disappointing of all of these games. Despite being fairly new, it plays like a really dated game. It's unresponsive, buggy, and really finicky. I only finished the game to see what happened in the story, but it was a real slog.
What I love about this new season of The Love Boat Series is the animation of the characters. The animation of each characters are more lively compare to before - and it is indeed a great improvement. Another thing I love from this season is that how the story included Sally and Francois in most of the plots. I definitely enjoyed them throughout the game.
Nevertheless, there are certain minor issues and bugs as well, such as (1) some actions are quite laggy as if it doesn't received well from our clicking, (2) some items we have picked up in the inventory remained blurry and unable to be received by the customers, and lastly (3) some of the texts have lines around them.
However, I would like to note that even with some minor issues as mentioned above, the troubles are not very critical to the point we are unable to play it. It is still playable and still enjoyable as we moving along the stories.
Overall, it is a great game. I feel it is worth of my time. I do wish to see more from this series. A big shout out to Boomzap for their great work. Thumb up! Keep it up!
Sadly, at the moment, it`s just crap: buggy as hell, no fun to play. If you`re interested, go buy all the other games from Gamehouse, like FabAngela oder Dr. Cares.
Only positiv thing: you get 100% Achievements for nearly nothing.
I am unable to recommend this game. I purchased it, played a few hours and then refunded. It is extremely laggy, the click functionality is extremely slow and you often have to click again and again. The entire new design of the game just didnt work for me and I love all the Game House stories. Such a pity because I was so excited to play.
At the moment, I cannot recommend The Love Boat - Second Chances on Steam. Despite enjoying the first of the series, it is currently very buggy, and towards the last few levels, I gave up on completing the achievements, and mostly aim to complete the story instead.
1. Poor response time after clicking. Sometimes your clicks might not register at all, or skip if you quickly click on another item afterwards.
2. Delay between actions. There is a very noticeable delay between your actions, which makes the whole experience really janky, and not smooth at all. Checking out customers was also a very tedious process, it is very slow.
3. Impossible/hard to complete levels due to bugs. On one of the MAIN levels, you were required to submit only full orders. However, due to the poor response/delay, the items ended being submitted to the customers INDIVIDUALLY, causing the challenge to be failed. However, after quite a few restarts, it is possible to clear it.
4. Clipping issues/graphic bugs - During cutscenes, or levels themselves, the npcs and customers would clip through each other, and the background. There was also alot of inconsistencies between the character model and the ongoing story. Julie was shown to have an eyepatch on her model after a certain cutscene. However, her subsequent models during story and challenge levels do not reflect this change, even though it will show up again immediately in cutscenes after a level.
5. Poor minigames design - The minigames were largely repetitive, most of which involve clicking 3 spots, and there is no change in pattern at all for any of the minigames. The 3 spots will always be in the same place, the luggage will always be stacked in the same way etc. Also I had difficulty with one of the minigames, where I couldn't click and scroll properly with my mouse.
6. Story - 6.5/10, I personally felt that the story wasn't as good as the first.
Overall, the game was very tedious to play through, with the poor responses and delay that I had not encountered in other gamehouse games (though the first Love Boat was a little laggy for me too). Expert mode did not feel like a challenge at all, given the new ability to force out new customers according to your own pace. This new feature also shorten the duration I usually spend on other Gamehouse games quite significantly. Hopefully some or all of these might be fixed in the future.
Don't buy this game(it will never be fixed)
Here's why:
Laggy Actions, take a little time to happen some things(like completing the levels)
Blurry images on some items
Texts have lines around them and some text bubbles just escape out
Some buttons like the Skip button keeps on the screen on the level after you start
Developers just wants to release the game and don't care about the user's complaints to fix the broken things(Only the achievements were fixed).
I'll sure update my review if it gets fixed someday.
It's fun but unresponsive. Not enough- so far- to make it unplayable but the lack of 'click and forget about it' responsiveness I've adored in some of the other Gamehouse games (i.e. the Delicious series of games) is not at work here. And that makes a game like this much less fun.
I'm going to keep playing this for a bit as I think they capture THE LOVE BOAT property wonderfully (I've not watched it since I was a kid but it feels very on brand) and the core game loop is always fun if you dig these sorts of titles.
Still, fingers crossed for a patch that gives it that buttery smooth play that some of the other GH titles have.
Overall, 1-10 review after 20 min of play=6.5 gameplay; 8 for tone/theme.
