About the Game
This is a classic Chinese fantasy 2D action game, based on Chinese history, mythology with a dash of surrealism in the mix.Story background
At the beginning of the Warring States Period, Tian, an officer under Duke Kang of Qi, set a trap that killed the Duke, exiled Ji, the younger princess, and put Shu, the elder princess, under house arrest. This event established the Tian family as the ruler of Qi.
Ji tried to seek justice, but failed repeatedly. During her journey, she encountered ancient deities like Hou Yi and Jingwei, who helped her obtain the powers of Soul Slivers, and eventually returned to the Palace to finish what she started.
As the dust settled, Ji realized this was the beginning of a new world...

Unintentionally got the "beat the game in 2 hours" achievement so that was cool

Short and sweet game reminds me of Icey with play style and just as good.
A very short game, that's tough at times but very enjoyable. The design and visuals are great, the music is good. The story is shallow, but it draws from Chinese mythology and spiritual concepts which I thought is quite nice. The combat can be difficult, but it took me 3-6 attempts for the more difficult encounters, with the final boss being a huge leap in difficulty.
So, if you want a pretty game with nice music and cool fights, this is a good one to pick up. Don't expect to be entertained for long, though.
Bladed Fury made me feel the "fury" part when playing, as the controls for the game are so clunky that if you were to make a Digimon out of the game, it’d be called Clunkmon. The only saving grace for this game is that it’s short, but even then, I’d not recommend wasting any expense on it and instead moving to something more worthwhile.
A good game with some issues.
Story:
Ji being framed for her father's death, but also being on some shaky grounds with him. She escapes to find the truth, but to also return to save her sister. Along her journey, she is faced with challenges, and her own morals are challenged. Eventually, returning home to confront the person behind it all. It is a nice short story,
Battle System:
Really good, it is smooth. It is fast, and the hits feels great. There isn't much to the upgrade system, but the way combos chains are great. On top of this, you get some summons in the game. The bad parts also comes with this system. It needs a bit more work, as the rate in which you're expected to counter is not reasonable, and pretty much so precise that it is poorly done on this end.
More often than not, your trigger is constantly behind where the counter is. In short, this part of it is clunky.
Anyway, overall, it is a solid game.
A great hack and slash game with some minor metroidvania elements to it.
Played this several years ago on the ps4 and loved it. The steam version is much better.
Interesting story, and awesome art. Combat was fun and fluid.
