As the next entry in the "Story of Eroolia" series, this game shares the same world with the previous games, "How to Take Off Your Mask" and "How to Fool a Liar King."
This time Princess Myana, who previously appeared in "How to Fool a Liar King", will be the new heroine.
*We recommend that you play the previous games (at least the demo) to get a better understanding although it's not necessary to do so.
STORY
"Can the cat-eared princess' song rescue her people and find true love?"Princess Myana loves to sing, and believes she can make her people happy with her song.
This time, she visits the human's country "Eroolia" as the leader of "Laarz", the country of cat people.
Relations between humans and luccretias have never been good, and Princess Myana experiences it herself in Eroolia.
Will her song be able to unite the hearts between humans and luccretias?
Or as the imperial guard captain, Ludovic, argues, is it better to completely cut off ties between the two countries?

I played the Eroolia's series from the bottom up, so this is the first story I played (didn't even know it was the 3rd installment until I read people's review).
The impression was...LUKEWARM AT BEST.
I would write a more details review but I can't find the energy or will to write it since there was nothing impressionable. The settings was very interesting, but flow of the story was very..boring? There was up and down, sure, but I couldn't feel an inch of my emotion going anywhere with it???
That said. It wasn't a bad game either. The art was cute. The storyline was okay. By okay I meant it wasn't a braindead plot (not completely anyway). You may find it interesting even!
There's no Neutral button, so between recommend or not, I would say recommend since impression is my personal problem, but the game does has its good points.
Recommended - wow soooo cute. This was surprisingly sweet, humourous and I really enjoyed the storyline and characters. It was lighthearted and did I mention cute? So cute!! Recommend.
How to Sing to Open Your Heart is cute Otome VN, the third (and till now the last) of the stories of Eroolia. You should definitely play it after the second story How to Fool a Liar King, the first story How to Take of Your Mask is not so necessary but it will help with understanding the whole story and its characters.
I liked this game, but in comparison to other similar Otome games, it is very short for a full price. You can finish both routes (+ common route and all bonus chapters) in less than 9-10 hours.
Pros:
+ Recurring characters from previous games.
+ MC is one of the side characters from the story How to Fool a Liar King.
+ Beautiful art, sweet CGs.
+ VA, including MC.
+ Likable characters.
+ Funny moments.
+ Romantic content.
+ Bonus chapters and scenes from Ludovic's and other characters' perspective.
Cons:
- Very short for a full price.
- Linear story, the decissions do not exactly imply the direction of the story (the decissions I took as more pro-LI led to less romantic route), leaving the impression that they have no impact at all (only lead to one or another route).
- Loading a saved game reflects the current / last played state of your decissions (Teamwork vs Independent), not conditions under those the game was saved.
A cute and engaging otome game, set during a cat princess's diplomatic visit to a human kingdom in a time when there is still some contention between the two races. The story switches focus back and forth between a budding romance and the more serious sociopolitical issues faced as the princess struggles to do what is best for her people.
The English translation is excellent, the characters endearing, and the humor delightful. I have played it through once so far and enjoyed it immensely. There is of course replay value as well, there being two routes you can experience (or a mix thereof). Learning that this is a stand-alone entry in a game series I expect I'll be trying more titles from this developer in future.
This game was a great addition to the Story of Eroolia. Some of the dialogue seemed a bit off, but I honestly think it just adds to the charm of the game. It's not very long and is perfect to knock out on a lazy afternoon.
Like with How to Fool a Liar King, I kept meaning to get this game as well. Like in my review for How to Fool a Liar King, I enjoyed playing both routes and watching them unfold. The art in this game is also very pretty. Those who did not play the two previous games will not have to worry missing anything since this game will give information from the previous games. In the end, this is a game that I would recommend to both long-time fans and those who have yet to play any of the games in this series
Is a great saga I just love the detail and how you can meet characters from the other games <3
The story is so cute, you have only one love interest like all the other games in this same saga, and you don't need to have played the other games but is recommended to do it you will enjoy it more
Just finished this game! It was really cute! I really like how the whole Eroolian series ties into each other, it's nice to see the other characters from the other stories. I would super recommend this game.
All 3 games have brought me joy to play in the past few years, this one being my favorite so far and now starring my favorite protagonist and love interest, Myana and Ludovic. Their relationship was probably the most compelling one in the series (cat-girl and an non supporter of cat-girl rights). In all truth, if your going into the games for the first time then the plots gonna sound stupid. but after going back to play the games the past couple of days, then you can get pretty invested.
The translation for the game is spot on( i have only played the english translation, so i cant speak fully for the other translations.) and the voice acting never gets cringy and was actually wonderful to listen to.
All the artwork in the games look wonderful and you can tell that they put so much work into every setting and character design. everytime i saw a new CG, my heart fluttered from how beautiful it looked.
at the moment i am listening to the main theme song while writing this review. the game has some wonderful tracks and 2 wonderfully performed songs as well.
Most games like this would be priced around 30 dollars and would not be as enjoyable but the game is only $15. If you are interested in the series and would like to play for yourselves then you should start with How to "Take Off Your Mask" then following "How to Fool a Liar King". after those games, you can play this one. The stories are connected and it could be confusing to play out of order or skipping.
Even though Lilia can feel alittle stale at times, Regina is a fun and individualistic protagonist. But Myana is a strong protagoinist that was enjoyable to play as. the love interest are good as well, again Ludovic being my favorite.
you really dont loose much by playing this game. this has been some of my favorite games to play in the past few years and i cant wait to play the next game they have up their sleeve.

Adorable characters, especially Ludovic!! He wasn't my type of love interest at first, but gradually I grew to really like him, especially during bonus scenes from his point of view. The voice acting is superb.
Miyana has her priorities right, Ludo something is better wife material than Regina.
I, too, would make him cook for me too. Food >>>>> all.

How to Sing to Open Your Heart is an otome visual novel and third title of the Story of Eroolia series as a sequel to roseVeRte's earlier visual novel How to Fool a Liar King. The game features Princess Myana who is the leader of the luccretia (cat people featured in Story of Eroolia series) as the protagonist this time. After the events from How to Fool a Liar King, Princess Myana is magically teleported to Eroolia by the black cat from the earlier titles in the Story of Eroolia series to observe the pact between Laarz and Eroolia, and to visit luccretia that are living in Eroolia.
Amidst the backdrop of mutual distrust and suspicion between humans and luccretia, Princess Myana is accompanied by her bodyguard Leona, her good friend, and diplomat Regina to work together with King Juli of Eroolia to see how luccretia are doing in Eroolia as well as to learn more about the Inadaptability Disease that is affecting luccretia. During her stay in Eroolia, she will get to know the black queen Ludovic as Juli's guard captain and King Juli's sister Princess Anna while also meeting all of the characters from How to Take Off Your Mask and How to Fool a Liar King.
As with earlier titles of the Story of Eroolia series, the game has plenty of save slots to allow different gameplay and dialogue choices to be made during the game, with a small popup icon of Regina and Leona/Myana to reach a slightly different storyline branch and open a secret unlockable scene at the end of the prologue and the first 3 chapters. The chapter summary is retained in this visual novel, while the story and plot is also written as a romantic comedy with two endings.
As a romantic comedy, it retains the charm and appeal in the Story of Eroolia series with cute characters, glittering CGs, and comical light-hearted moments with the appropriate background music Dojikko March and Haru no Yokan which accompany these moments. There are also pleasant and tense moments in between. Having a large cast of supporting characters with voice acting and a larger role helps to enhance all these parts out. In addition, the protagonist and a few main characters will also have outfit variety while there are also small variations in the facial expressions and ear movements for luccretian characters which make the artwork stand out.
With 14 BGM from Music Atelier Amacha and Peritune, Ukiuki Lalala, Natsuiro no Campus and Tenshi no Yume are a few of the pleasant background music which are memorable. The theme song with vocals Kokouta and the insert song Issho ni which is also worked into the theme of the story are lively, upbeat and match the happy moments in the story.
Having played through earlier titles of the series, I would also give props to the developer for keeping the character mannerisms and way of talking consistent. For example, Princess Myana and Leea would often end their sentences with mya and nya respectively, Regina might sometimes giggle when she's nervous, Princess Myana would tease someone to be her bride again, while Leona and Simon remain brash as ever, and Mars remains as an easygoing person who enjoys teasing people.
Overall, How to Sing to Open Your Heart is the largest scale title from the Story of Eroolia series which has the largest cast of characters with a different voice actor or actress for each character. This game is recommended with the theme song DLC for the cute characters and fantasy world in Story of Eroolia as a romantic comedy featuring humans and luccretia with attractive and comedic artwork, pleasant background music, unique character personalities, and great voice acting to make the game feel satisfying after finishing it. Hope this game will qualify for Steam trading cards in future, and the developer will continue to expand on this series with a sequel as the main characters are memorable and consistent to have a long-term impression.
I have voted the developer roseVeRte for the Best Developer Award in 2018 for producing three titles of the Story of Eroolia series after several years, and for being very responsive to fan feedback. Keep it up roseVeRte!

A wonderful mix of strong and sensitve, funny and serious.
The story is fun and engaging with many surprising and heartwarming moments with both new and recurring character alike.
This game is more than just a romance though with a mysterious organisation and misconceptions of her species for our heroine to overcome.
The ‘Story of Eroolia’ series, made up of 3 games is a series I would recommend to anyone looking to play something fun and light-hearted. The games should be played in the following order to get the best experience out of the series, as the main character of the continuing games are introduced in the previous game.

All 3 games make up a fun experience, featuring couples with a different chemistry while continuing to further build upon the overall story. How to Sing to Open Your Heart focuses on the love between Myana, the princess and ruler of Laarz who loves singing and Ludovic, the Chief of Imperial Guards in Eroolia who is easily misunderstood for his cold attitude but loves cute things.
The game takes roughly 7-8 hours to complete when leaving the voices to run till the end and is split into two paths, the ‘independent’ and ‘team work’ route, affected by your answers throughout the chapters, both which are equally enjoyable.
If your someone reading this who is new to the series, I’d recommend you pick up the first game and if your someone reading who’s already played the previous games, then you can look forward to another great game wrapping up the events of HTFALK.
I finished the game and i want to say i LOVE IT!!!!
it is both funny and dramatic in all the right places.
i own and played all 3 now and i can say this series is amazing, definitely a must buy.
and even if this is your first one it is still easy to follow as the game explains enough not to be in the dark if you never played the other 2.
I am going to play this one a lot more to, even after finishing it.
it is one of my favorite games just like the whole series.
