traumatizing
he called me good girl and put me in a cage.
this shi is fire
People have to know some things about this game before buying it. It just CANT be called "the best", there's so many wrong things about it. Most of those guys are bad people, or toxic boyfriends. "red flags" if you may. So yes, the visuals are nice, the voice acting is good. But the stories are far fetched, and some characters are just psychos. How can you consider those "good ends" ??? Toma is obviously the worst, no reason in any scenario to go out with this dude. Shin is... urgh, I usually like this type of personnality but hell no, not here. Ikki was the first I got and I thought "what a bad boyfriend" but he's actualy one of the best, at least he values consent. Kent is quite cute, and the relationship with him too (one of the only "normal" ones) but huh the stakes weren't really there, but at least he doesn't try to kill you like some ?? Anyways, the stories are not good, sorry, I didn't find it interesting, and quite frankly, sometimes, cringe.
But hey, I played it all, it was okay to some extant, I just don't think It's for a young audience, nor that it's the best. There's a lot more good, cute, sain romance games out there, so please, be carefull when buying this. (sorry for my mistakes, english is not my first langage)
I haven't played many otome games but this has to be one of the best ones I have played so far. The mystery 'behind it all, the multiple worlds, the characters, the plots. I love this game very much
i fw everyone in this visual novel, and JUST SO YOU GUYS KNOW there are RARELY any vns that happen to have all the guys that i actually really like equally (my favorite is still kent) RECOMMENDED! I FW EVERYONE! (idk about okyu though hes lowwwkey crazy i havent tried his route yet) I FW IT!
Can't get the last story, the achievements are not unlocking. The game is available since 2015 and yet they didn't bother to fix their issues. I'm quite disappointed by this. Also the stories are kinda cringe
an absolute classic!!! the routes are well-paced and able to retain your focus, and the suitors are all quite charming in their own ways. also it's 10 dollars. this should be like 30.
I liked this game. It was tons of fun. TBH I wish there had been more stories.
made me scared more than a horror game, but i recommend it.
downloaded it becuz its an otome game but the plot got me instead. idk it was more like a thriller-mystery thing more than romance to me maybe it was due to Ukyo's horryfying smiling sprite appearing in bad ends or constantly playing bgm (i loved the soundtracks, it was just not that soft for a romance game)
idk if anyone wants to hear about it, my faves are:
Kent (the most sensible and redeemable romantic interest, i don't even remember him doing something bad)
Ukyo (his route feels like the right one even though there were so many morally gray things going on--maybe even black lol)
Ikki (overall I like him)
Orion (wish we had his route)
About other LIs:
Shin: He got on my nerves with his awful shaming jokes and him constantly saying "dumb" etc. His character design is GORGEOUS but i cant say it about his personality. He's just too irritating in his route idk it pushed me off
Toma: I felt pity for him when I played his route, and he didn't attract me either. Maybe because of the bad endings, they didn't make me orientate towards him.
The rest of the characters were cool, I would like to see Rika more she was very interesting to me.
Btw ofc you can't judge the character's actions like they were humans (i mean they can be morally gray and be still lovable, i can't enjoy the game if I only try to see their faults) but I think the important thing is to make sense of it, namely make it meaningful. Ukyo's actions are meaningful but as for Shin and Toma: nah. Toma felt like I was watching a pitiful mentally-ill murderer's shtty life and Shin was just an annoying classmate trying to bully me. I don't hate them yeah so thats it.
I like this game but I also find Orion talks way to much in my personal opinion and respectfully needs to stop talking once and a while. But it's different to see the narrator as another character rather than just the MC. Not that it's bad either! I have only been through one ending so far, but from that one ending (even though it was the bad one) the game was pretty in depth and had a good amount of choices. I like the fact that if you just start this game you don't know what character you will pick as you decide that when you pick the world your going back into. (that was kinda cool) Overall I think that this game is good and has a lot of good properties. A good game to just kinda vibe too if you don't know what to do or for a casual thing too. But you can also play to get all the achievements and ending and it will still take a bit by the looks of it. (5 hours for one ending)
cage
been playing this game on and off for the past 10 years, it has taken me a long time to go through every route but I always felt drawn to come back time and time again. love the characters, the worlds, and the mystery ♥
wow! I can't believe this game! best otome :)
I can't believe what happened! best otome wow.
toma
waka and sawa routes when lowkey
that aside, i have yet to do toma's route and i don't know if i should be dreading it or be excited for the amount of bullshit i suspect i'm going to experience
Highly recommend to finish every route to find out how this game is surprisingly good.
There are 5 routes, the last one will unlock after you get all good endings.
I played for Toma but I loved this game because of the plot and how they portray it.
Romance - 6/10
Plot - 100/10
Opening song - 10/10
Kent the best boy - 10/10
Toma the best boy in another way - Toma/10
Not one of the best otome games I've played but it will take a special place in my heart. I will play more visual novel otome games because of it.
i only played for Toma. everyone else was boring. 10/10 i will not stand for Toma hate. stay mad haters. its a game and all of you people are senstive af.
im gonna get trashed for this but i kinda like toma......dream man <3
Don't trust Toma
I love this game, when I first bought it, it reminded me of when I used to watch the Anime, still one of my favourites of all time.
Good for the price. I enjoyed the variety of personalities in the LIs. It's a struggle to get good endings on blind playthroughs though. I liked Orion being MC's sidekick in certain routes. MC is supposed to be a "void," self-insert due to the lack of memories, so Orion guides her on decisions.
My favorite route would be Toma's. If you like angst and otome games on the darker side, you will likely enjoy this.
the only otome game that i always return to play every once in a while. its fun and exciting to go through all the routes and endings as your relationship with each character changes depending on who you decide to romance. the artstyle is beautifully rendered may look a bit dated with a classic 2000s anime feel but i think that's also part of the charm, not to mention the iconic and stylish character designs. i hope some day the devs or a company would port later x crowd onto steam.
and yeah, i guess i do have terrible taste in men.
MC is a lifeless doll and that annoying b*tch in her head can't stop yapping, telling her what to think or feel and don't know how to STFU for just a damn second, what kinda writing is that? The only saving grace of this game is the art
Came for the cage, stayed for the undiagnosed autistic man
i think i bought the wrong amnesia
As someone who has both watched the anime and played the game recently, I definitely recommend to play the game.
Compared to the anime, all the endings you can get make more sense even if you would play them at random (even though I'd advice to finish world per world). You get more information about why everything is happening, which gives (me at least) a better understanding over the character that you play.
All by all, love the graphics and character design, both the games and anime will keep a special place in my heart
Started this game for Ikki, eventually I grew to hate him
i fw ukyo
Engaging story. I know I'll be playing this game over and over to see all the routes and possible endings.
this game is so boring you barely get to make choices and the guys are highkey annoying
one thumb down for restraining order toma
(kent sniped my dog, i swear)
A wonderful game for those who love Dark Romance games.
That said, the routes of Kent and Shin is almost purely sweet.
(At least in the endings I found.)
The route of Ikki is very bittersweet, with endings ranging from wonderfully dark to what a normal person may consider happy.
Toma's route is AMAZING -IF- you love dark and obsessive romance that verges on yandere, but somehow isn't quite that. (Comes with a trigger warning for the feint of heart, however.)
According to wiki it's supposed to be a route for Ukyo --which most definatly would be dark, VERY dark-- but I have not figured out a way to unlock or buy such a route if it does exist. Sadly.
I adore him, especially his villanous side (which is truly wicked), but I have not found a romancable path for him.
If the creators read this: I'd totally buy the DCL content for Ukyo's route, and I'm not the only one.
Characters aside, the story is pretty interesting, and since it revolves around the same person from different viewpoints you learn new things about the various characters depending on who's route you choose to play.
For the most part this game is rather cute, but with a slightly dark streak.
How dark depends entirely on which love-interest you pick, and the choices you make from there.
I highly recommend this game. It's worth every penny.
my standards for otome games have skyrocketed
This has to be the game that introduced me to otome games when I was in secondary school (like over a decade ago). Even after all those years, it still feels so refreshing to play. Something about it helps it still feel actual and quite enjoyable to read through. The whole cast is amazing and well written, the story is interesting and the system of unlocking a hidden route is something I haven't seen in the other games I played so far, so it's quite unique? I guess. This game is a classic atp, 100% recommended. I only wish the other games for this title were on Steam too :(
I feel like this game is only enjoyable if it is your very first Otome or you have a ton of nostalgia for it.
The moment you play anything else that is even slighty superior, this Otome falls apart completely. I tried to find it enjoyable and wanted to truly understand the hype it had in the past and why some people see this as their favorite Otome game.
Sufficed to say, I failed. I will admit, I have not 100% the game. The one route, which was Toma's, was sufficient in making me deeply dislike not only the story but pretty much the characters as well, essentially making the game unplayable for me without feeling a ridicolous amount of frustration.
MC may as well not exist. Orion, whose name I could remember even after months of not playing it which shows my level of annoyance, is pretty much the MC stand in. MC has no sense of survival, nor any self respect. The love interest, in this case Toma, can threaten to r*pe her and she will STILL adore him because he had such a sad past mi mi mi. So, of course, any atrocious action of his, be it hinting that he desires to s**ually abuse her, or his action of putting her into a damn CAGE, is ignored because I am supposed to pity his psychopathic a**.
Orion is just Orion. He is the voice that speaks for the MC because the MC MAY AS WELL NOT EVEN BE THERE. He describes actions, thoughts and tells me HOW I SHOULD FEEL. "Wasn't that scary, MC?" "Weren't you shocked?" shoot me.
Toma is....oh my god. I wonder genuinely if I had just been unlucky that he was my first pick. I usually love the Yandere trope, which is why I had some hopes when I realized that he was supposed to be that. And yet, Toma managed to be just....disgusting. I truly do not enjoy characters that constantly hint that they would SA me and that it would be "my fault" because I "seduced" them. Maybe it's because I've often sadly heard that in real life as well but that made me want to punch a hole through his face. It ruined the character for me a lot.
The art feels uninspired and most backgrounds are just kind of...monotone? empty? The CG's were fine and even kind of pretty, so I give it that, but the lack of backgrounds, which makes Orion's constant explanations of scenarios a necessity, is merely adding to my aggravation.
The endings suck. At least in Toma's route. The bad ending is me becoming a Slave. The secret ending is me being murdered. The GOOD ending, which I thought meant that I get to flee from him but I sadly forgot that this was a damn Otome, meant that I would FORGIVE him, BLAME myself, and just love him because THE MC TOTALLY HAD NO ISSUES WITH HIM TRAPPING HER AHHHH.
I played this route with my friend and we had to pause so many times to just scream at the text. Victim blaming Toma who wants to assault the MC is just...comedy gold.
Now, a love interest can indeed be effed up. But I at least would like an ending where I can punish him for it instead of me just running into his arms while completely ignoring all of the f*cked up stuff he just spouted right in front of me.
The fact that Orion sometimes agreed with him DOESN'T HELP.
The writing in general also seems to be rather poor. The game is filled with a lot of "tell, don't show" through the mouthpiece called Orion. If it weren't for the hilarious, anything but self aware, writing, then it would have just been sleep inducing.
I am not saying that you can't enjoy this game. All I'm saying is that I may would have enjoyed it 10 years ago when I still was incapable of recognizing red flags and saw violence and jealousy as romantic.
Only buy this game if you want to laugh at the writing. There are lots of better Otome that will give you a much more satisfying romance. If Toma's route is THIS bad, I doubt any other routes will fare much better.
Very fun! So many weird bad endings
Great game, I enjoy the music and all the different paths there are, so many outcomes and so many posibilities! Great art.
i wanna get freaky with toma
It's a good game, especially as an introduction to the otome genre, although if you play it as someone who's already very into the genre it'll feel a bit underwhelming in comparison to other games.
The LIs area bit more stereotypical than you see in a lot of other otomes, and while that fits this setting very well, it can make them turn out to be not as likable as they would've been otherwise. I say this from my personal point of view of course, as I didn't particularly enjoy Toma's, Kent's and Ikki's personalities; Shin was alright and Ukyo was interesting especially due to all the mystery around his character.
Story-wise, the game is quite good, there are some plot twists I definitely didn't see coming (looking at you Toma), and the plot regarding the existence of different timelines is interesting.
As a side note, the mini games are pretty fun to play.
cage time
It's insanely slow in the beginning, one of the main characters talks for over 15min of dialogue without you getting to play at all. And only a small portion of that dialogue is actually necessary and relevant to the story. If you have the patience to play beyond all of that exposition, that's great, but I find it too slow paced to be enjoyable.
I will always cry for Ukyo 🥲
Orion is so annoying I wish we could've hurried up and got our memories back so that he'd shut up. Toma was cool but yall overhyped him too much, i honestly wish i could refund this game. quickly.
kisses shin pasionaetly
I love this game. I saw the anime back when it came and was sold on the cleverness of the concept. Little did I know there was a whole game about it, before almost ten years later... You makers are so talented and inspire me to continue on with my own creative work. Thank you... I have heard "Amnesia: Later" and "Anmesia: Crowded" is out on switch. Please make this for steam too... Rooting for you! Btw. The music is fantastic! I listen to it at work.
Peak
i really loved this game, i think it has really good storyline.
I do not recommend lol I played Shin and Ikki's route and it was a bit of a turn off so I decided not to replay it for the other characters. The plot kinda sucks. You just pick a character to pursue at the beginning. Orion is a bit annoying. There's also no fast forward button so you have to continuously click through scenes you've been through before. I personally don't recommend but maybe you'll like Toma's yandere route.
BEST BEST BEST OTOME GAME EVER!!! WE LOVE UKYO my cutie patootie sugarplum sweet cookies princess my one and only love of my life i only have eyes for him my sweet sweet suicidal man i love you
I do not recommend playing this as an otome game, because all the men are varying ranges of shit. However, as a visual novel, it is absolutely unhinged and I love it. Still haven't played Ken yet who people seem to like most. Been too busy laughing about the diamond route.
you may complain that Amnesia was questionable at times, but what Amnesia never was, was boring. 10/10 would pay to play it for the first time again.
