В PROZE перед вами разворачиваются две связанные истории. Первая рассказывает о секретном исследовательском центре 70-х годов. В ней простой советский инженер пытается понять настоящее назначение этого объекта. События второй истории перенесут вас в настоящее время, где компания друзей исследует последствия военного эксперимента в исследовательском центре. Героям двух сюжетов предстоит вместе раскрыть масштабный заговор, который тянется сквозь десятилетия.
PROZE совмещает несколько жанров – это приключение с элементами головоломки и хоррора. Чтобы вы могли максимально погрузиться в атмосферу, для игры специально созданы уникальные механики взаимодействия с окружением.
Действие игры происходит как в настоящее время, так и в прошлом. Это история дружбы и долга, страха и достоинства людей, которые встали на пути советских военных экспериментов и их отголосков. В PROZE вам предстоит исследовать секретный вычислительный центр времен холодной войны. Там вы найдете аномалии, необычные головоломки и ответы к загадкам истории игры.
В современности вы играете за парня по имени Макс, который расследует исчезновение своих друзей Антона и Леры. Все указывает на то, что их пропажа связана с деятельностью советского исследовательского центра «Просвещение».
Во второй временной линии игры, в 70-х, дед Антона и Леры Анатолий также теряет своего друга. Анатолий работает в том самом «Просвещении» и подозревает, что руководство скрывает настоящее предназначение исследовательского центра. Как и его внук в будущем, он решает разобраться в происходящем.
Вам предстоит перемещаться между прошлым и настоящим, разобраться в заговоре и спасти своих друзей.

The designers unfortunately chose not to have a manual save/load system at all. While I can appreciate their rationale, they are being too idealistic. This game needs manual loads/saves because it has some big bugs which can be serious if you can't manually revert to a saved game.
In my case, I fell through the geometry of the reactor room (which is, I assume, near the end). Unfortunately if you fall through the geometry in this game you don't die, you apparently just fall infinitely. I mistakenly used the "game reset" button in the settings which destroyed hours of progress irretrievably. So I think my time with this game is done. Which is fine because the reactor puzzle frankly looked like it was more work than fun.
It's not working properly with Reverb G2 controllers. With custom mappings you can at least make it run on Reverb with teleportation only locomotion, but even then it will be very clunky and at some point in the game when you need to move fast it will be unplayable.
PROS:
1. nice puzzle game that doesn't spoon feed you the clues. I really had to figure things out as I went.
2. interesting combo of semi open world exploration, suspenseful action, mystery.
3. interesting jumps in narrative and characters. It will have you asking WTF.
CONS:
1. The grab and use controls are weird AF. You will be very frustrated by the end.
2. Flashlight was worthless, the game saved money on textures by flooding you with dark.
3. The puzzles are good...if you understand the basic premise. If not, you'll have to use an online guide.
4. I use FREE movement and got stuck in many places. Switch to teleport when you get stuck...often.
5. The teaser video shown above has scenes NOT included in the actual game.
6. the game is incomplete and will never have the part two they have been advertising, buy on sale.
My recommendation is a qualified recommendation. The story is good, the puzzles are decent, though there really aren't that many of them. The most fun is the final puzzle which is actually 3 puzzles plus a sort of shooting puzzle. On the downside, $20 for 4 hours of gameplay? That's too much. $14.95 at most. Get it on sale if you can. Also, the lipsync is terrible and the character animation is generally poor. Like a guy opens the door where his hand is 1' away from the handle and then he pulls the door through his body. There are also annoying bugs like the flashlight can get bugged in your hand and you have to restart. In another place if you walk away from some crucial electronic parts and come back they are gone and not to be found anywhere. Have to restart. The downsides are relatively minor, just want to warn you. Really, it feels like a lack of attention to detail on the mechanics, but the artwork itself is great. I look forward to the next part but will wait until it is on sale, assuming the next part comes along of course.
Great, creepy puzzler. Good storytelling. The puzzles are not on the easy side, but doable. I really enjoyed it and can't wait for the next part.
The atmosphere is most enjoyable. However, the controller handling is very glitchy (Played on Oculus Rift S). Since the boss fight builds on speed and reflexes this is VERY VERY annoying.
A good range of puzzles and two-controller combinations. Cannot find a way to start afresh without completing the game though.
In a word: Frustrating. The story is intriguing, but disjointed. You play many different roles in different times, changing frequently, so watch your clothing to see who you are. The game play is confusing. The training is terrible, consisting of a character yelling the same unhelpful thing at you over and over. So many puzzles give little clue as to how you are supposed to solve them. After dying several times, you can usually figure it out, and they generally end up mundanely unimpressive. The voicing isn't great. Some of the settings are beautiful, but it's not consistent. It all feels like a massive undertaking by a small dev team.
This 3hr+ 'first chapter' of a grander adventure is clearly punching above its indie weight the whole way, but it achieves a remarkable amount for all that. For every under-animated NPC or failed experiment there was a fitting interaction that worked, or a lovingly detailed environmental touch.
There are some great open locations, seen through various lighting and gameplay lenses. Swishing torchlight around a rumpled forest at the foot of a dam, or piercing the dripping interiors of an abandoned facility, was tense and evocative, without being full-blown horror territory. The large-ish areas allowed for a certain amount of mystery to settle in the corners, and for poking around to feel somewhat rewarded. (Not so much in the sense that there are many hidden easter eggs, or that solutions are 'search all the drawers' in nature, but more in the sense that something you saw in a bush, or over a hill, might inform you of what to do in a future conundrum. Might give you the lay of the land.).
Their use of minor physics interactions, 'flip all the switches' experimentation over explanation, and the odd daft NPC interaction (I left a guy hanging for a return thumbs up for a helluva a long time...) didn't always work, but the intent was almost always welcome. And although the locational puzzles settled into some familiar 'VR russian lab' tropes (equalise the coolant pressure valves Vladimir!), I did enjoy their overall take on the genre, and the staple 'logic gate' puzzle was enjoyably solid.
Minus points accrue throughout for things like protagonist NPCs not moving their mouths, or outright bugs requiring a restart. (At one point a key NPC glided along a corridor with such a bizarre lope, his shirt clipping through his jacket in absurd counter-point to his supposed elan, that it was just all too silly. But still enjoyable for all that ;). And again the attempts to actually layer narrative through the locations and puzzles were still welcome).
I would have welcomed a faster walking speed for some of the larger sections, especially when back-tracking between locations. But other than that I was a pretty happy irradiated bunny hopping about the place. Tapped out at 4 hrs for me. I was fine with the minor escalation towards 'action puzzling' at the end, and with the daft cold-war fantasy-fusion story getting left hanging in mid-air. I'd happily play another 4 hrs if they ever get back to it ;)

like the free demo as it was like an escape game but after that part the game turns into something else, not a bad thing but spend ages wondering around not knowing what to do or going the wrong direction really slowly, graphics are not so good out side and fumbling around the dark was not much fun, wish the rest of the game was like the demo.
It's a 4 hour indie sci-fi thriller game with some exploration, challenging puzzles and great atmosphere. Many environments and props were captured with photogrammetry and most of them look really good. There's a bit of exploration in an ukrainian forest that reminds me of STALKER. The animations of characters are really bad but they only appear for a very small fraction of the game. Story, music and voice are good. Overall it was an entertaining experience.
If you are looking for an immersive game with some story and puzzles you might like it. There's a demo called Proze: Prologue and it goes on sale repeatedly.
Until the puzzle of the pumps it is doable (even if the game has its share of bugs). After 6 tries and knowing what to do but the game failing to record the controllers I'm done with this one. Again an indie vr game that forgot to implement & playtest the vr controls.
In short: Nice try but not worth the 20 euro's

Some of the timed puzzles (They're not necessarilly bad, but not always very intuitive, esp. interactivity of items could be made more prominent or just adding some further hint system might help)
Autosaves are not always made after completing puzzles forcing players to redo already solved puzzles on load.
Imho the game is fairly underrated. Though it is in some aspects rough around the edges the overall experience is pretty great and well worth the time and money.
I wanted to love this game but gave up right at the end. I watched the end of YouTube and I'm glad I did it because after multiple efforts to adapt to:
bugs / poor autosave / inexplicable puzzles / the dubious storyline (am I Max in the game?) / a super annoying backpack (please devs, forget the immersive experience and just do an inventory) and pitch-black environments throughout,
the ending is utterly disappointing. The fun of an intense puzzle game is to find answers, but this game will give you none.
Great graphics and sound effects are the only saving grace of this game.
OK, here goes:
This is not a bad game, and it really has a lot of good things going for it: interesting story, really great sound effects (spooky as hell in many spots!), and in many places is open-world enough to keep it less than completely linear. That being said, here are the the things I really had trouble with:
1) IT'S SO FRIGGIN' DARK!! Almost the entire game - with the exception of a couple of cut-scenes - takes place at night and/or in interior spaces with little or no ambient lighting. This works great to achieve a mood - and yes, it's creepy as hell - but soon become a royal pain in the ass, especially when you're required to use two hands for things - like tools - where you're forced to put away your flashlight and fumble around in the complete dark. VERY frustrating at times.
2) CLUNKY INTERFACE. I've played a fair number - no a whole lot - of VR games in my time, but in this case moving about and picking up items can be a bit of a struggle sometimes...IMHO.
3) A FRUSTRATING ABSENCE OF CLUES: Now, I get that puzzle gamers appreciate a good puzzle to get oneself past a certain point, but in this game there are very, very few clues with these puzzles as to what you're supposed to even do, let alone how to solve them. Once you do figure out what they expect you to do, the puzzles - especially the logic puzzles - seemingly require an IQ of 165 to figure them out, way harder than the average Joe could/should be able to figure out on his own,,,again, IMHO.
FULL DISCLOSURE: I never did finish the game. I came close, but at the end, even when given the spoilers on what to do, I still couldn't seem to get things to go the way the were supposed to...and I gave up in frustration. Hopefully the developers will read this - and comments posted by other players - and will make changes that will make this game more playable...and thus enjoyable.
I like the setting of the game. But the puzzles aren't great, the character animation is sub-par, and the final time-attack puzzle was so infuriating that it made me leave this negative review. I'll look at the next episode but I hope they put more time into the puzzles. I only recommend picking this up on sale.
Bugs... bugs... bugs... But i steel love the game, some inner feeling tells me this is very intresting story, and i want to play this game instead of buggy and ugly things around...

I really hope the second part of the game will be released without this bugs and ugly animatins and other negative stuff so ppl can feel better during this game.
DO NOT BUY IN THE STATE IS IT RIGHT NOW!
Although gameplay is original and very interesting, it is riddled with many game breaking glitches. There is even many obvious glitches that just makes me facepalm as it's completely obvious for the developers to see. Now there is an issue with voice acting... It's just downright awful at the beginning of the game. Almost every character has an American accent and is just preformed very poorly. Sometimes in the game I don't even know what to look for (This is coming from an expert puzzle player.) Storywise they sorta just gave you the plot in the first hour. Your friends are gone and Enlightenment is evil. Isn't Enlightenment being evil supposed to be the ending to it? Imagine discovering it was evil instead of just dialog that says, "Hey their evil." They also mentioned in the first hour that your missing friends were actually murdered. If they didn't mention how evil it was and how your friends are it would have made me want to invest time into it. But you already got what you need. The story is done. You know how it ends. Very poor decision to say what happens and why in the beginning of the game. I'm now gonna get a refund because I already know the story.
I rate this 4/10. The graphics are as nice as Arizona Sunshine and the puzzles are fun sometimes but they are also sometimes aimless. Dialog completely spoiled the story for me. I'm getting a refund.
I'm editing my review after having finished the game.
The good:
This is the kind of VR game I was hoping for. It has good puzzles, good atmosphere, good graphics and a good story so far. I also didn't mind the bugs on lunch, as the developers were very respectful towards their audience and these were quickly addressed and fixed.
Also, a big plus for me - NO JUMP SCARES. There are creepy moments and eerie locations, but the developers do not resort to those lazy predictable jump scares that are often used in horror/survival games.
The bad:
Basically it's just too short. Feels more like an experience rather than a game. Maybe when all parts are out the entire thing will feel like a proper game, and then it would be an excellent one.
The very last part of the game was a bit frustrating due to the lack of checkpoints for the last puzzle, which made it unnecessarily hard but other than that I had a fantastic time with the game. I would highly recommend getting this if you're into exploration/puzzle games with an interesting story.
PROS:
- Great visuals and level design
- Good puzzles (with some nice physical puzzles too)
- Very good audio
- Intriguing and promising story
- Great atmosphere
- Very responsive controls with options for faster movement, snap and smooth and left-handed
- Subtitles options and support for many languages (which is VERY MUCH appreciated, maybe not important for some people but essential for others)
- No immersion-breaking HUD
- Very polished
- You can tell that a lot of love and care was poured into every part of the experience, which is always good.
CONS
- No button to exit the game, which makes it a bit weird every time you want to leave since you don't really know whether your last position was saved or not. The game autosaves but you never know where. A manual saving button would have been nice.
- No graphical/audio options of any kind
- Some kind of diary to read/hear the radio messages, while not essential, would come in handy sometimes since you can miss some important info. Maybe some tips here and there too or a list of tasks to do (same as in the demo).
Overall a fantastic game, I am really looking forward to the next episode, which hopefully won't take too long. This could end up being a real must-have in the genre if the following episodes keep this level of quality and the story delivers.
