LEGO® Star Wars™: The Skywalker Saga

This is not a challenging game whatsoever. At its best, the humor is hilarious, the scavenger hunts are rewarding, the scenery is beautiful, and it will immerse you in the Star Wars universe surprisingly well for a game that is constructed mostly from virtual legos. This is a highly recommended play for Star Wars and Lego fans alike. If you catch it on sale, there is no point in hesitating. You can easily get 80 hours of playtime without reaching 100% completion.

Most of this games content is open world collectathons

And the actual level themselves are Short... Like REALLY Short.

I dunno, i would rather play the other lego star wars games because their levels are WAY more fleshed out and fun.

This game was amazing. Stunning graphics and fun gameplay. 100% yet another Lego game is making younger me proud. Sad that it was very buggy especially the game breaking bug that I had to wait a couple weeks for the devs to patch to even continue the game. But still it was a blast.

I am surprised how much fun I had with this game. Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is such a funny retelling of the 9 core Star Wars movies. The stories are told episode-by-episode in Open World settings. One of the neat aspects of this is that the world changes depending on what movie you are in. The puzzles, fighting, and characters feel awesome. Strangly, the graphics were great too.

PROS:
1. Tons of characters and classes to unlock, with tons of planets to visit in all 9 of the core movies.
2. Legos aside, the graphics were awesome and the game ran great!
3. Space battles, building, and customization is all there and fleshed out.
4. This game is bigger than it lets on to be by a few miles! The dialogue (or lego sounds) is so funny.

CONS:
1. Fight system is just button mashing.
2. I wish the game was a little longer and more fleshed out.
3. This is a rare occurance where I wish there was DLC. Playing the story of The Mandalorian or a more fleshed out Clone Wars would be awesome! However, Mando is a character.

This game was made by people who want to create the bear minimum experience to keep you playing whilst making every single objective as unreasonable, annoying, frustrating, and generally horrific to undertake that quite frankly calling it a game is unfair - it's more like torture for either children or people who grew up playing these shitty lego games and cannot move on.

It's pretty good. I wish the title screen wasn't focused on Ray, but that was probably a Disney idea not a TT idea.

Pretty fun. It is a good current game and makes some fun twists on the original complete saga games. However I am disappointed at several things they left out, whether that be iconic areas, the lack of a single hub, or that character types have little difference between them. Overall I am really liking it though, may even try for 100% completion like the old games.

Had this bad boy sitting in the library for a minute, so I finally gave it a go about two weeks ago. Today, I have beaten the game to 100%. I will say the Complete Saga is way more enjoyable. The levels on this game are short and kinda suck. Collecting the Kyber Bricks was just like the Gold Bricks except multiplying that by 5. The character collecting was cool and all, but each class of character did the same thing, which I found boring. Chewbacca and Han Solo can do the same thing which makes sense, but I should be able to throw people across the room with Chewbacca. Snoke was the most useless character I have ever seen. All the extras besides the Rancor were pretty boring. I probably only cycled through 12 different characters while I went on my collecting spree, this is because all the characters had the same function. I am definitely nitpicking right now, but when you delay this game for 2 years and could not think of any cool defining features of different characters kinda upsets me. Anyways, the free roam this game offers is crazy good for a big Star Wars fan like myself. The free roam carried hard. I would rate this game an 8/10.

It's a gorgeous game but it feels lacking compared to the older stuff given what this game shows it capable of. I enjoy it, but it doesn't evoke the joy I had playing other Lego games.

The story missions are alright, but I feel they are kinda killing a lot of content by shoving scenes into tiny cutscenes. Yeah the old games had 6 levels per 6 movies, but at least you got to do some cool things like fly through space at the start of Ep3. Here you're basically starting the level with a boss fight. And the cutscenes are so heavily packed with jokes it feels like it's bordering ipad kid levels of humour, which is ironic.

The open world stuff is the best part of the game and is the main reason I'm still playing. I particularly enjoy the side quests, which are missions that usually require you to travel across planets to do tasks. They're a handful per planet, but there's a good load of extra mini-missions that go towards collecting Bricks for unlocking abilities and characters, which mostly involves parkour and puzzles. In saying that, a few are broken, so you need guides to finish some of them.

The world designs are fantastic. Places like Tatooine and Coruscant have well thought out layouts and characters, and they are definitely intended to be visisted a few times. Visiting areas of Coruscant and seeing other districts or being in Kashyyyk and seeing a grounded Venator adds a bit of awe to the locations

Anything space is terrible, the whole ship-flying part is cool but you can pretty much finish most space missions by holding still and shooting from a static position. The highlight of space is the capital ships, but while you might expect a new location with fun quests related to it, it's mostly small puzzles with the odd easter egg. You can "complete" a capital ship in 5 minutes and never want/need return to it.

I do still recommend it though. The bad parts are quick to get past and it's honestly really cool seeing Lego in such great detail. Just get it on sale with the character DLC you want. I hope it gets an update someday, but it's still quite good holiday fun

This game is awesome! Naturally, the gameplay and visuals are a big improvement over the original Lego Star Wars games. However, I will say after beating the main story, the game becomes a bit of an open world collectible/side mission nightmare, it is overwhelming the amount of collectibles and side quests it has. It is not necessarily a bad thing, I normally like having post-game things to do, but it is almost overdone in my opinion. Still, if you intend on sinking hours and hours reliving the saga in a fresh new coat of paint, the side stuff is all optional. It adds more depth to the detailed world, and I believe this game is the closest thing we'll get to a truly open world Star Wars experience.

Yes, I recommend the game, HOWEVER you CANNOT play this game with online co-op. I fully intended on playing the game with my friend(s), but was HUGELY disappointed at the fact that it is couch co-op only. :(

As a play it and set it down game where you just complete the story, it was fun. Typical LEGO progression system and humor that you'd be familiar with. From a completionist POV, this game is a tragedy of repetitiveness and overly relies on collectibles. You can finish the game in like 15-20 hours but you need like at least 40 to 50 additional hours just getting kyber bricks and other collectibles from all of the explorable planets as well as the mini kits in each free play level. I feel like they could have chopped the amount of collectibles in half and the game would have been perfectly fine. If you REALLY like LEGO, Star Wars, or are feeling like you hate yourself a bit, go for the 100%. Otherwise, don't bother. Still recommend the game though lol.

It's beautiful, it retains the iconic humor of the old TT Games' games, but it feels daunting to play.
In the old games, all the minikits found felt like discoveries. They were interesing to find. In this game they are collectables. The game tells me where they are. I only need to fetch them.
In the old games the combat was wonky and amusing to mess around with. In this game, I melt that hp bar slightly faster with the +15% damage perk. Its a bad, needless RPG.
Three hours in, I'm doing the story mission to chase the assassin on Corrusanct in episode 2. It drags on so long with the ship I'm chasing passing through buildings, which my ship explodes upon contact.
I'm too bored to continue.

Really good for a Star Wars game. I've been getting some hours in and it's pretty fun playing through the nine trilogy movies while also doing some side quests here and there.

The RPG aspect of this game is also cool but kind of repetitive. There's really no reason to go into galactic free-play unless if you want to 100% a certain story-level, 100% the entire game, or finding bricks to upgrade your abilities.

The Empire Strikes Back is the best Star Wars Movie, but Revenge of the Sith is my favorite :)

This game is a phenomenal bang for your buck, but it can be kind of overwhelming. I let my nieces play it and they had no idea what the game meant by character upgrades vs class upgrades, story mode vs free play mode, and what all of the collectibles were and what they did.
But if you are buying this for an adult/older kid I think it is a slam dunk! 9 movies worth of levels is pretty good.

Way too many character pack DLCs, Sequel Trilogy is in my opinion 4/10, LSWTCS with the gameplay and graphics of this game would've been an instant 10/10 from me.

Great game! Fun with the kids and collectables are super fun!

Play it if you like memes or want to experience the films in certain orders.

Great game, lackluster DLC.

The game itself is wonderful. It looks good, performs well (on my computer at least), and is a lot of fun to play. I do wish the character creator was added and that the character DLC was voiced, but definitely worth getting when on sale.

Had enough now, Spent 49 hours on a playthrough trying to 100% and got a bug that locks me from progressing, Turns out this bug has been around for years and with countless reports still haven't patched it. I have tweeted their support as they often respond on Twitter / X but they are completely ignoring the tweet. Such a pain as I do really enjoy the game but not fixing progress locking bugs is ridiculous

This game is very fun and has lots of things that keep the game interesting

If you have played one Lego game you have pretty much played them all. Mechanically, all Lego games share a simple game play loop and general method of design. If you have not played a Lego brand game, they are fairly easy and simple 3rd person adventure / platformer games. Often centering on collecting various things while running through a fairly linear story. This particular installment in the brand of Lego games seems to be lacking in quality in nearly every aspect. So I cannot recommend.

I remember the Lego games fondly from my youth, but after trying two of them more recently I am beginning to wonder if that memory is largely nostalgia driven. I was excited to see an "all-in-one" updated Star Wars Lego game, but so far it has been quite disappointing in nearly every way. In general this feels like a poor PC port. The controls are wonky, the UI and menus are poorly designed, and the options are limited. But more than that, the game itself feels cheap, limited, and incredibly shallow.

The basic game play loop consists of a 30sec - 1min cut scene, slow-walk following an NPC from point A to point B, some story exposition auto-conversation, and repeat. Every couple of loops you will have either a small combat encounter, a laughably easy "puzzle", or a mini-game with really bad controls. And that is it, that is the entire game so far, and from other reviews it seems that this is true for the rest of the game.

I will say there is a lot of time and game area to explore if you want to spend the time to do it. Outside of the story, the game is mostly wandering around various areas in the game to collect a variety of things. You can spend a lot of time collecting all the things if you so choose. But even this is just a boring chore time sink. The areas and maps are largely static and mostly have all the same game play mechanics that get boring pretty quick. There is not even really any music or other ways to make them somewhat interesting. Again, just very shallow.

Some positive things about the game: It is graphically a good looking game and the Lego theme is, as always, very well done. It is fun to see all the various objects made from Lego pieces and how they all fit together. This has always been one of the best aspects of all the Lego games. Additionally, although the pacing of the game is terrible, the actual dialogue and Lego twist given to the Star Wars story is decently done and everything is adequately voice acted. (some better than others). And as mentioned previously, if wondering around collecting random things is your jam, there is a lot of that to so in this.

While I might continue to play through the game, (mainly because I spent money on it and feel obligated to put some time into it) I cannot recommend it. I do not think this is a game worth the time or money to play. It is just shallow and was made with minimal effort in nearly every aspect. Disappointing in almost every way. 4/10.

I really wanted to give this a thumbs up but that sadly was not the case, the game itself isn't bad but it definitely doesn't capture the feel of what the old games used to be even though they said that was their intentions.

To list a few things I find negative -
- there's still a few bugs present
- Combat feels clunky definitely not how it used to be in the old games
- Puzzles aren't fun quite boring and forgettable
- Missions are just lame they retell the whole set of movies the old games done it better
- also who thought it was cool to add little console puzzle like a idiot with 1 brain cell can do these

Positives
- So many characters wasn't a big fan on what they did with the dlcs but its aight I guess
- Open world and plenty to do but can be quite time consuming
- characters being able to do certain thing I like make you change up who you play as
- plenty of ships + space
- Kyber bricks love it
- Skill tree and being able to use studs to buy things great

Overall though its just forgettable It didn't take me back to nostalgia or anything of the sort which was a shame but I've I was to really narrow my review down it would definitely be a half thumbs up not bad but not great.

Game is fine to complete story wise, to 100% this game feels unfinished and repetitive. At the end of the development they definitely started slacking.

I love Lego games, they're obviously nostalgic but also have a certain charm to them. This is not a traditional Lego game (in the likes of Lego batman 1, The Harry potter games or the Lord of the rings) This is far more open world, which is very disorienting in split screen. Along with a new combat system, which again over complicates what I'd expect from a Lego game.

This being said, these things could be overlooked if it wasn't for a glaring technical issue in split screen. I'm running this on Modern hardware (i9-990K, RTX 2070 Super, 64G DDR4 , yet the frame rate will drop when interacting with NPCs. This is not impacted by the settings or resolution which indicates an issue in the game itself. I can reliably replicate this when trying to influence an NPC in the first Naboo level.

Save your money, buy the OG complete saga, you'll enjoy it more.

An interesting direction for the Lego games.

Having played the original Star Wars Lego games, and coming to this... it is okay. It does its job. I feel it leans a bit too much on fandom memes and what not, but it overall gives a solid gameplay experience.

It is telling though that much like how I didn't care for the new trilogy movies, I found it extremely hard to play through them in this game. I got to the Last Jedi, and I just couldn't do it anymore. I don't know. The Lego magic couldn't keep me engaged.

If you are familiar with previous Lego games, this offers a similar experience (minikits to search for, studs to collect, completely breaking the game with cheats and the economy with stud multipliers, etc.).

It is clear that those who made this game have a love for the Star Wars franchise, and that is appreciated, but like I said earlier: it does lean too heavily on jokes and memes. It gets a little cringe. The voice-acting in particular, while it isn't bad... it just kinda feels meh. I preferred when Lego games didn't have voice acting and just relied on visual story-telling. It was more humorous to see them capture the plot of Star Wars using slapstick or visual gags. I don't hate it - just kinda left feeling a tad disappointed.

I recommend if you have played previous Lego games and are looking to scratch that itch with a more modernized take on them. I also recommend it if you are a Star Wars nerd and aren't quite getting your video game fix.

In terms of gameplay the worst TT Games Lego game thus far
The graphics are beautiful though

I felt like it mainly walking around and doing lame chores. The combat machines are are horrible. I felt like I had to do a lot of task just to fight darth maul for a little bit. It feels like your just watching an interactive movie. It does not feel like a Lego Star Wars game.

The game is absolutely over priced do not buy it at full price. The game itself is fun but for such a large game it feels very small, the planets are good but you cant reset them so all that's left after you finish the game is replaying the very short story missions which feel as if they're meant to be played with the default characters even in free play. If the levels from the complete saga were combined with the open world of this game it would be worth the money but it isn't and it feels worse to know how good they could make the levels if they had focused on it.

I cannot say that this is better than Complete Sage, firstly because I like the pantomime Lego better and, secondly, because I really didn't appreciate Lego parts mixed with the real-life environment. However, this game is very good, with a lot of sidequests and good puzzles. Even Disney episodes are not as bad as the movies they are based on. This game will be great for kids.

barely any enemies to fight. i watched more to see if it'd be even worth playing more than 2 hours, since what i played was literally just walking cutscenes.
the ENTIRE game is one long walking cutscene with sprinkling of levels in between, and they aren't even good levels.
you'd be better getting TCS instead cus the later movies aren't even good in lego form now that it has voice acting

Getting 100% is a boring, repetitive grind and then there is no bonus level!!!! Most underwhelming end to a Lego game :(

The game developer essentially deceived me by claiming that the deluxe edition would include all upcoming DLCs. This deceptive practice is not new to me; games like Assassin's Creed Valhalla also pulled a similar move with the Ragnarok DLC. People opt for the most expensive game pack so that they don't have to spend more money on the same game. However, it turns out they broke their promise. They should have disclosed earlier that there would be multiple season pass DLCs, but they kept it a secret. It feels like a government agency or some other regulatory body should investigate these kinds of deceptive practices. Why do I call it a scam? Because it influenced my purchasing decision when I initially bought the game. I believed I would receive all the DLC, but it turned out that I still needed to pay for more.

The game is fantastic, but the developer essentially deceived me by not being transparent about the DLC.

Now I admit to only playing the first episode and stopped before helping Queen Amidala. But why is there only ONE real level between the opening and that part. What was the point of the open world aspect of the game? To try and pad out play time? There is no real need for it. I loved the original one of this game, so I knew I had to give this one a try.
I am left disappointed with a walking simulator.

Gameplay is alright, but the levels themself feel... surprisingly empty? Like there's too few objectives during missions, and everything is too linear, despite the "open world" nature of the game. Admittedly, I've only played for a few hours so far and have only played levels in Phantom Menace and Force Awakens, but something about it feels too... short in my opinion.

Fetch quest simulator without markers. The main game consists of following a character or running to a spot with some extremely basic puzzles that can be mindlessly sped-run, then you have never-ending side quests to grind for. This game is not a sequel or remake of the complete saga, it has no similarities.

great game that just builds on the previouse game highly rec. (if your playing a bhounty hunter and on controller press and hold both trigers at the same time for a huge bulit spray, espesialy with cad bane and a fully upgraded bounty hunter)

I really wanted to enjoy this game but the levels are just not as fun as Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga. From level design to puzzles and all of it, seems to not really even compare to the OG. Granted I do believe that the Complete Saga was lowkey ahead of its time in some ways considering that game is just shy of two decades old. The game could be worse but then again felt lack luster and definetly not worth $50 but for the $10 it is on sale for (as of time of writing it) could be worse.

Get this game if you want to have fun with your kid for an hour or two without having to think too much, don't buy this for an adult.

A very enjoyable game with the 9 films with a alternative fun take on the films to play through. Then you have the fun alternatives of finding various artifacts by taking part in various problem solving challenges adds a lot of fun and re playability. Lots of fun and a must play.

I wanted to love it so much, but it gets old really fast after completing the quest lines associated with the films. the side quests are repetitive, not engaging, and often exhausting as you run circles back and forth to look for specific items or return successfully. I really agree with the comments that its creators prioritized quantity over quality, and while I was taken away by the design elements and the initial exploration I've got no interest in trying to complete more of it :/ I greatly prefer the original LEGO Star Wars game, and play that one still instead.

This lego game will make a fine addition to my collection.

Sweet gameplay, like the art style and music. The voice acting to me was a little off but it is just my opinion, the levels could have been longer but other than that pretty darn good.

I bought this game on release and I was super hyped, although I didn't actually end up playing it for a long time -- stuff going on, you know how it is. Then, recently, I had a big urge to play some Lego games, so I finally decided to try The Skywalker Saga.

Oh my god. My disappointment was immeasurable. My day was ruined. They actually botched this game so bad, it could make a grown man cry.
I think they completely forgot what made the OG Lego games fun. There was so much more interactivity and engagement in those games. Every level was like a series of puzzles. It...actually felt like you were playing something.
I experienced this game with a friend who has finished the game, and we played through The Phantom Menace together. That might have been the most boring 2 hours of my life. It actually just felt like an autoscroller. There was no gameplay there. It was legitimately just the movie retold in Lego with nothing really added. The most this game really gets right is the classic Lego humor, which is still strong. And the combat is fine, I guess, but I wish it wasn't legitimately the only semblance of gameplay you will get from this game. Most of the "enjoyment" from this game supposedly comes from the enormous open-world aspect where there's a ton of stuff to collect, but that's just not fun to me, particularly because the collecting part is so bloated. And more importantly, it's nothing like what I had hoped for as a successor to the greatest Lego game ever made.

There's no way I can force myself to play through the rest of the 8 movies. I've seen enough to know this "game" is a bore. God, I wish I could refund it. Maybe this review comes across as a rant/yapfest but I seriously can't state enough how disappointed I was.
Just play The Complete Saga instead. Luckily most of us pretend the sequel trilogy doesn't exist anyway so it's as the Lord intended lmao
