This is the second game I've played from the developer; the first one was Regency Solitaire, which also had a little story in it. So, I thought this might have it too. It doesn't. ˙◠˙ I was ready for some Dracula love story, but oh well.
The objective is to collect enough gems to build various buildings, ranging from castles to cottages. There are plenty of achievements to unlock too, if that's your thing.

- Changing scenery.
- Plenty of levels.
- Challenging level designs with frozen, chained, vined, locked or taped cards.
- You can change your deck style.
- Bonus Mahjong game with spooky theme.
- There's an in-game store where you can buy power-ups, tools, and more.
However, there's a con if you're trying to pass all the levels with a three-star rating, this is where things get a bit meticulous. In some levels, the game provides an inadequate and useless deck over and over again. I even remember encountering five consecutive queen of hearts cards in the deck. (This game really made me hate the queen ngl.) The game doesn't mind whether you earn three stars or none at all, as long as you collect the gems and construct the castles. Nevertheless, there were times when it left me feeling quite frustrated.
I find these kind of games most enjoyable when I'm watching something, and I used to find solitaire boring. I'm becoming more like my mama each passing day...🦇
A classic solitaire with a gothic theme game including some mahjongs.
Count between 10 and 15h to finish the game with 100% archiving.
Solid solitaire game with enough levels to let off steam. +1/-1 is played. There are enough boosters to buy in the shop, but you can also complete the game without them, as wild cards and jokers can also be found in normal gameplay. Both an easy and a difficult as well as a normal mode can be played. Each game has gems that are used to build enchanted castles. I enjoyed the game, it is complemented by mah jong games that are unlocked by stars. The stars are given after the successful completion of the solitaire level. Three if you finish a deck run, two if you have to go back and search for matching cards, just one if you need multiple runs. It's best to buy in the sale, but the game is also worth full price. Enjoy it!

Toffee Almond Sandies
Ingredients
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 cup confectioners' sugar
1 cup canola oil
2 large eggs, room temperature
1 teaspoon almond extract
3-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups chopped almonds
1 package (8 ounces) milk chocolate English toffee bits
Additional sugar
Directions
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes. Beat in the oil, eggs and extract. Combine the flours, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in almonds and toffee bits.
Shape into 1-in. balls; roll in sugar. Place on ungreased baking sheets and flatten with a fork. Bake at 350° for 12-14 minutes or until lightly browned.
it's an ok solitaire, especially considering the not too steep price. quite lengthy & grindy. but most of all the spreads are very uneven. you get impossible to solve very soon in the beginning & have to skip cause you have just not enough money to spend on additions, which would help you over. well, you can pass a spread "solving" it, which means you didn't solve it at all, you just played it, which leaves you with an unsatisfactory feeling. but then you have also very easy spreads at the end, where you just fly through.
there are 3 difficulty levels. i played it through on Normal but was unable to solve the last one, had to play it on Relaxed. & didn't get the 20 Combo achievement at first, had to gather some more wildcards to help me out & got it finally on L34. the Relaxed mode gives you a redeal of the stack & the Hard mode has a timer, which deals the next card from the stack when time's up.
the design is quite good, drawings of gloomy landscapes to assemble are well done. but the music is rather loveless & all over the place, at times very unnerving with a piece repeating the same sound sequence about 30 times in a row.
so overall, if you are in need of an at least acceptable solitaire of solid quality, this one is recommendable.
I love Solitaire in general, but I really love Solitaire done well. I've finished all the levels in this game (then turned around and started over from the beginning) several times now. It's a beautiful game experience, and the side games are also great fun. Importantly for me, I never get the feeling that the game is rigged, for lack of a better word. I've played games by other developers where it's irritatingly obvious that the game isn't organic. This one, as well as every other Grey Alien Solitaire game I've played, is the real deal. I also love the moody, broody images and cards (you can select plain, though), and the beautiful pictures you build with your wins. I'm a fan for life.
I just purchased four of the Jewel Match Solitaire games that looked like they have nice graphics, and all four of them were really good games including Twilight Solitaire. However, in the mahjong bonus games it takes me much longer to find the matching tiles than the previous games I played because they are more difficult to see.
I like this game, but problem is cannot acess on only laptop as cursor dosen't show on main computer. All other steam games ok. both Jewel twilight and jewel solitare load perfect but no cursor. Have to ctrl Alt Delete to get out . Love to play game, but only on laptop. Any way this can be fixed?
Recommended, with some significant caveats.
This is another Jewel Match Solitaire game, just like the other ones, but with a different theme.
Art is fine, not great, but fine.
Sounds and music are fine, not great, but fine.
Repetitive and grindy, just like every other solitaire game on the market.
Caveats-
Achievements are broken.
They will unlock, but not exactly when they should.
The 5 hour playtime achievement did not unlock until I had played almost 11 hours, over 5 of those being idle hours- where the game ran while I did chores and worked on my other computer, playing a few hands when I was taking breaks.
The 1000 Gold in the bank achievement did not unlock until I had over 1500 gold in the bank.
The achievement for winning 10 bonus (mahjong) games did not unlock until I had won 14 games.
The achievement for 5000 gold earned in total unlocked at just over 4000 gold earned.
Other than that, the game runs fine, and is what you expect from a typical solitaire game here on Steam.
I got the game on sale for $2.49, so... whatever.
Don't pay full price for this game. Just don't.
Back to grinding out the last achievement for 500 stars now.
This is a pleasant one up / down style card solitaire, with bonus mahjong levels (the mahjong tiles are a bit hard on the eyes but you get used to it). Overall, this is well done, with lots of content. Halloween themed and family friendly. Great value, especially on sale.
I got all the achievements in 12 hours. If you want to perfect-clear all the levels as fast as possible, first get all the magic wand and lightning bolt power-ups, then maybe the extra card power-ups. Don't buy wilds or jokers.
jewel match solitaire is a long-running card game series, offering the usual +1/-1 gameplay in various settings, the usual power-ups and decoration/upgrade elements. bonus stuff is what makes them stand out, even if each game in the series is just a reskin of the others, as is customary with solitaires, no matter the developer. my reviews for them are also pretty similar to each other.
this particular iteration offers 200 spooky levels with the usual 3-star rating system, and there are 5 buildings to erect as well. they're called castles but not all of them are in this game. it's just as involved (so not really) as in other games: get rubies from the levels, unlock a random part, when all done, move on to the next. each building has to be completed within 40 levels, but there are more rubies than necessary, and of course levels can be replayed if you missed some. this time the map is the default screen after a level, the castle (or whatever) only comes up if you have enough rubies, which is great, except clicking 'play' on the castle screen goes back to the map instead of starting the next level. can't win 'em all...
the 3 difficulty settings offer wildly different experiences. relaxed allows more than one deal, but even there a star is taken away if you need more than one run through the deck. always completable but not necessarily for 3 stars. normal operates with a single deal, as is customary, and hard adds a timer to speed up your card-picking decisions, which is like adding a timer to... well, anything, but if there's a game that doesn't need a ticking clock... well, it's every game, but solitaire especially. difficulty settings can be changed anytime and simply 'solving' a level unlocks the next, don't need a single star to continue.
power-ups are bought with gold and come in the usual variety, including wildcards and jokers that can also be found randomly. replaying levels, getting achievements and playing bonus games also award gold, and most power-ups can be upgraded to become more beneficial. it isn't clear from the descriptions, but only wildcards and jokers are consumables, the rest are either passive or a certain number per level. gold display is still buggy, spending some doesn't change the value on the map until you visit the castle screen or play another level.
so far so every solitaire ever and there are no extra card variants, like in the first jewel match solitaire, but you can play 50 mahjong levels for some reason. I mean it's nice and I like mahjong, but if I sit down for solitaire, I'm not really interested in unrelated bonus or mini-games, plus 50 layouts aren't enough if you only want to play mahjong. not to mention they are unlocked in batches with stars from card levels and you pretty much need to finish the game to get access to the last few.
mahjong has undo, shuffle and a show free tiles toggle, plus rules, tips and a hint button, and instead of an instant game over, running out of moves lets you shuffle as well. too bad it doesn't always produce matches and still no toggle for the timer, you'll always see a ticking clock in the corner, whether you care about high scores or not.
predictably nice presentation, though the music got on my nerves faster than expected. separate volume settings, windowed mode (non-resizable), widescreen toggle, custom cursor and a bunch of card backs and fronts are available, plus there's an optional tutorial and wallpapers. unfortunately, settings aren't available while playing mahjong, have to go back to the menu to change anything.
as always, aside from the awkward menu navigation, annoying bouncing victory screen with unskippable fireworks, buggy gold display and unresponsive wand power-up (have to click twice to activate it), it's a decent card game with enough content, just as recommendable on sale as most others. and since no collector's edition exists, nobody has to double-dip for largely the same thing. let's hope it stays that way.
You don't need to be in October or near Halloween to even begin enjoying this game! If you know how to play "Solitaire", you now know what the game is about + Halloween theme. If you don't, then ya get to learn! It is simple and takes your mind off of things super easily. You just want to keep playing all of those 200 levels + Bonus "Mah Jong" (The tile game) as extra!
The music fits right in and you can pick different card backs and even the face. Guess what? You also build your own castles! Or I should say: spooky structures. All five of them!
Is it good? Well, do you like these types of games? Then that answers it. You don't have to grind... You get fair Power Ups from the shop. YOU do what you want. My hardest level was 86... It took me a while to beat it... Guess luck doesn't roll really well on that one... For me at least. Thanks to that level, I managed to beat level 200, which is also something of a toughie.
Oh! And you can have free wallpapers too, if ya want. THANK YOU for all the fun games you always make... It's always a pleasure! :D :) =)
This is a fairly simple and straight forward Solitaire game. Like most of these, it doesn't exactly follow the rules of regular solitaire, and is very much like the Faerie Solitaire series.
This one is Halloween themed and you also earn currency for building 3 different castles.
There isn't a whole lot of incentive to play after you get all the achievements other than to just get all the stars. You'll have your achievements if you perfect every level, well before you reach the end of the game. you can also unlock special Mahjong levels, but there isn't really any reward for beating these other than a little bit of extra currency. The dots for these do go from red to green after you beat each one, helping track completion progress. However there is only two achievements for these, to win 3 and win 10. There are 50, so other than a little bit of extra currency from each one, there is no incentive to win them all except for some in game completion to get all the green dots.
Over all, a solid solitaire game to play if you've already beaten all the Faerie Solitaire games. If you haven't go play those first. This is nice filler till Faerie Solitaire Dire is finally finished.
Jewel Match Solitaire has a tried and true formula, and if you like solitaire or just games you can kind of play casually while the family has TV on in the living room, these are fun. Some impressions from my limited experience with the series:
Attractive gothic card design. Vaguely vampirey, but on the Anne Rice spectrum.
Music is fine, though I prefer the classical music in some of the other titles in the series.
The bonus games are mahjong tile matching here. Not a big fan, but they're skippable, and I skipped.
I got about 28 hours of enjoyment, though the last few levels were hard and required a bit of grinding and a lot of luck.
I played all 200 levels and 'bought' every power up (the shop doesn't cost you extra money - it's with in-game currency). Played on normal difficulty and I found it to be a very relaxing, satisfying solitaire experience. Sometimes the power ups feel like cheating but it's still a challenging game. You can also unlock mahjong games, so there's even more value added to your purchase.
About 15+ hours played all achievements won and game competed and i'm recommending it however it wasn't a huge amount of fun and there are far better solitaire games out there.
I can't put my finger on exactly why this game didn't do it for me, perhaps it was the dull tone, the quiet music or the poor use of the subject matter.
it looks like a by the numbers solitaire game which is i suppose why i recommend it, it does what it says on the tin just don't expect anything new or exciting.
A good solitaire game with nice graphics and sound. Relaxing to play, and with the difficulty level set about right. Twilight Solitaire also features a spooky themed Mahjong sub-game. I enjoyed it.
16 hours to 100% achievements and completed game. (except for some mahjongg tile games I haven't played yet)
This is a great game. Family friendly with the spookiness, not horror level but more on the fun level. Though little children might be afraid of the skull faces in the Mahjongg Tile extra bonus game. I love the spooky background music, complete with occasional owl hooting. The castles are spooky. The cards are spooky (King, Queen, Jack look like vampires). I thoroughly enjoyed playing it.
Easy game for achievement hunters, you don't even have to complete the last castle to get all achievements!
Standard solitaire in the vein of "Faerie Solitaire" and the like. There's a tutorial that takes you through the basics. You earn coins which you use in the shop to buy upgrades such as more cards in the stack, see how many cards are left, remove one random card from play, get jokers, etc.
A+ in my book. Can't think of any cons other than I wish they had a few more achievements to make us keep playing longer!

The Game Review
Game Visuals
I want to mention that the visuals in the game are nicely done. The visuals can be adjusted in the game's option menu.
Game Audio
I want to mention that audio for the game is well done. Even though the audio is somewhat simplistic and repetitive. The audio can be adjusted in the game's option menu as well.
Gameplay
There are three different game difficulty modes to choose from: Normal; Hard and Relaxed.
This is a solitaire card game. The objective for this game is to clear all cards from the screen. There are special bonuses that can be used to help completing the level a bit faster. However, these special bonuses need to be purchased from the shop with coins. The coins are earned from playing the game. Asides from earning coins, there are green gems, to be earned from playing the game as well. The green gems are used to build various castles.
The bonus Mahjong Game is a special feature added to the game. These bonus mahjong games are all locked. All required a certain amount of stars earned in order to unlock them.
There are twenty-four different achievements that can be unlocked from playing the game. Each of these achievements does come with some requirements that need to be completed before they can be unlocked.
Miscellaneous
There are extra features in the game: Bonus Mahjong Games and Wallpapers. This feature requires the game to be somewhat completed in order to gain access to them.
Final thoughts: I have found the game enjoyable to a certain extent. The replay value for the game is low. I would recommend this game, but not at the game's full price value.
I've enjoyed playing through this game with its relaxing ambient background music and the bonus mahjong games throughout the playthrough. However, I think they were a bit lazy with the achievements, I wish they had a few more such as finish all the levels in the game, 3 star all the levels in the game, finish all the bonus games, Build all the castles. I'm 33 levels and 5 bonus games from the end of the game but already have all the achievements. It would have been nice to have those final achievements. That is my only critisism.
This is an excellent Solitaire game. In fact, all of the games that Grey Alien Games do are excellent. They end up at the top of my wishlist, and I buy them when they are released.
This has it all ... powerups, wildcards, jokers, challenging levels, obstacles (ice, chains, vines, etc), unlockable minigames (mahjong levels unlocked as a a group), and up-down solitaire play. Also, you build a castle as you complete games. There are several castles to build, and you get a choice of which part to unlock. You can hover over the part to see a ghost image of it on the castle. You buy them all, anyway, but it's a nice touch.
The graphics are very good on my 4K monitor. The audio is pleasant. The minigames are fun. There are plenty of achievements. Certain games are challenging, but you can come back to them when you buy better powerups. The animated castle backgrounds are stunning - they are you background behind the card game as you play.
A great Halloween themed game.
10 out of 10.
