Dead game. It's kinda shocking they still sell it for money. If they made it F2P than at least some people who spent their money on this game would have a chace to play with someone
fun game to play with a friend however it is hard to get in to a match with another real person as not alot of people know about the game or play it consistently i hope the devs keep at it and maybe add some more game modes for team based combat i feel that might bring more people to the game
Fast paced matches, fun weapons (esp. the rocket launcher - you get to steer the rockets by aiming, I'm having fun shooting two of these at the same time) and I didn't get nauseous (lots of comfort options). The gameplay is sometimes unforgiving, but after a match or two you learn how each arena works and how to use its layout to your advantage.
This game will be good in years to come. But right now it was me vs a bunch of bots. Not fun.

the guns could use a bit of work and hopefully an option to turn off the lazer.

I didn't know what to expect since it's hard to take classic arena shooter experience to VR. I was afraid that the movement would be clunky, but I've switched to smooth movement style and when I got used to aiming and firing it brought true joy.
I consider this game as an attempt to do something bigger in the future, something that other game developers can try and adapt to their titles. The idea of telefragging is not new, but making it a main mechanic was a bold move.
If I had to point one thing I was most happy about, it's that maps are well-designed and I was surprised many times by an enemy walking to what I expected was a ceiling. Turns out you can teleport and switch orientation on some surfaces. Cool idea.
What is not cool - it's hard to find a player, so be ready to hook up with some friends on discord and set up a meeting - it would be easier to play vs a living soul.
Excellent technical execution, stable, smooth frame rate, decent graphics. Gameplay mechanics similar to UT, could use some minor tweaking, but overall very playable even as a 1v1 deathmatch. The real problem though is that there are no players online, so you can only play against a bot. And there's no lobby to see how many players, if any, are currently online. The developer's response is not clear about the situation. I suspect that there may be some kind of publisher's license restriction rules in effect. Sorry devs, but we are PC players here.
This game is completely dead, nobody plays it!
Kind of boring to play with a bot on only 6 different maps after 30 min.
And I can't understate how many times I've been killed when accidentally pausing the game with the move touch controller. This is a ridiculous flaw which is a dealbreaker!!
This game was ruined by a focus on player comfort rather than a focus on fun I feel like. If it was a straight up clone of ue or quake I'd love it. Jump pads, rocket jumping, bhopping are things I'd love to see in vr but games are being held back by a focus on comfort.

Pretty well polished and know it would be fun to play with friends.... bots get a little boring after a while and seems like it's only 1v1? Still fun though, and kind of a nostalgic feeling when playing (e.g. Unreal Tournament). Smooth gameplay, nice looking environment.
Devs:
- Clicking anywhere on my trackpad seems to open up the menu in the middle of a fight.... easy to hit accidentally so it kept going to menu and often I'd die from the bot during that short amount of time. I suggest ensuring it's only bound to the lower trackpad button on one hand... or maybe grip unless that's already used.
- Bot spawned partially in floor once.
- The play area seems to autodetect upon loading the game, depending on location of headset? It was off the first time I loaded it, and I reloaded it with headset in middle of my play area and it was fine. Would be nice to have a "recalibration" option (might already exist but just didn't stand out to me?)
- Overall, really love what you're doing. This shows so much promise. One of the better looking and smoother VR experiences I've had in a game like this.
While initially underwhelming, I think that Anshar Studios is on to something here. Telefrag's core concepts aren't original, but the polish and mechanics present at launch have me hopeful for a bright future.
If this VR shooter is going to stay on the radar and maintain a high price point, it needs to build a community and schedule many future engaging additions and improvements. 1v1 battles make sense for the size of its few maps and the gamemode even suits the demographic limitations of paid multiplayer indie VR titles. Unfortunately, I can't see a long-term investment coming from sticking with this structure. A few sessions with a bot were all I needed to get an idea of what the game would be like 10 hours down the line. The chance to play the game alongside a friend would be where I would get the most out of this type of gameplay, but those I know with access to VR aren’t too actively engaged with the medium.
It’s a generic suggestion, but shooting challenges or zombies-style wave survival gamemodes could make for engaging additions to Telefrag. Well-balance, non-VR integration serves as a way to reach more people and has assisted the relevance of other once VR-only titles.

One of my favorite VR shooters! Gameplay is very intense and super fun.
For all fellow motion sickness prone gamers: game is fast paced, but doesn't make me sick at all, kudos to developers for that.
Hello everyone I was a fellow who came across the trailer for this game and really liked the look of the game it gave off a feel of arena shooters from the past such as Unreal Tournament or Quake 3. I was sad to see that the only multiplayer option was dueling but gave it a try anyway. Walked away from the game surprised to find that the 1v1 battles actually were fun and fast paced with the look and feel of a portion of an arena shooter of old but nothing more than a portion more multiplayer modes would be needed for this title. After the 2nd day I had no one but bots to play with. More can be found in my review https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwsuGddD6wU&t Had a nice feel levels, visuals, weapons hit the mark for the most part for me except for one locomotion may feel weird for some it has dashing mechanics similar to Doom VFR but I was used to it quick. This is not an Early access title so I do not believe more will be added to this title.
This game is really impressive in comparison to other VR shooters i had an opportunity to play. After dozens of shooters on rails in VR, gameplay in this one is so dynamic! There is something in all of this comparisons to Unreal and Quake, but it is a pity that there is no bigger multiplayer mode. With more players, e.g. 4 vs 4, it would be really fun. I can see this mayhem already! :D
I've spent a couple of hours with this title so far and I can already tell it's a solid game and fun experience, especially if your'e a fan of tournament shooters of old in the vein of Unreal Tournament or Quake. The VR component makes all the difference obviously and the creators learned their lessons from Detached when it comes to creation of huge VR enviroments. The movement and combat in Telefrag feels fast and rewarding even if a little bit chaotic at times. It takes some practice, especially if you're new to the whole concept of VR games but it's well worth the effort. Wiping out your opponent by "telefragging" is a very satisfying experience. Matchmaking sometimes takes a little bit too long but I guess it will change once people start flocking to the game. Overall a very nice game despite its little shortcomings. 8/10
Clunky movement: you cant walk or run on this game you can only move from dashing
Matches are only 1v1s, the game would be way more fun if there were more people to kill on the match
From watching the trailer you may think matches are high paced action but you will spend most of the time searching the other player around the map.
Most importantly, the smooth locomotion is only four directional. You can either move forward or backward, or you can strafe left or right, but not one of each together. You can't advance and strafe at the same time. It's another in a long line of failures in in the realm of VR movement, but at least it's a new one, I guess. Breaking new ground in failing to move properly in VR! Just give us plain old smooth locomotion and strafe on the left thumbstick and smooth turn on the right. There's no need to reinvent the walk! We've been doing it pretty much that way since Goldeneye in 1997.
Anyway, this game would be so much better with teams or multiple players in free-for-all, but alas it's only one on one. I'm sure there are technical limitations at play, but it's mostly because of this that the game only gives a taste of Unreal Tournament or Quake. It falls well short of being a VR clone or spiritual successor.
I did the tutorial, practiced in the range, read all of the descriptions of the weapons and their modes to prepare myself. Then I decided to try a bot match first to get my feet wet. After that I played several quick matches, but unfortunately they were all just against other bots as well. I haven't seen another player in the game yet.
So far this is a game full of alases, unfortunatelies, and if-onlies.
Update: Welp, they told me that they fixed the controls so I finally tried this game again. It's a little herky-jerky, but I can now move in more than just the four cardinal directions. BUT now every single time I turn the menu comes up. I'm done with this game. Save yourself from paying to beta test this developer's garbage, and don't buy it.
Telefrag VR is a twitch vr shooter that takes inspiration from the Unreal games and quake shooters alike. This game is a blast to play but unfortunately lacks polish, and is a bit barren for release. Apart from things a love about this game there are some things that need to change and be added for the sake of a smoother experience.
Movement:
Please let us choose between whether we base the locomotion off of our controller position or our head position. Locking it to only move in the direction the head is facing makes it uncomfortable for people like me to navigate.
Please make smooth locomotion omni-directional, right now it's locked to forward back left and right and no in between.
UI:
Please give us a comprehensive lobby screen to see who is in the lobby. This request opens up to allowing us to vote on maps, vote kick others, promote others to a lobby leader if in a private match, and others ui functions.
But on the flip side of things, some of the things this game does right is amazing. Every different gun feels like a different class because of how the guns work in this game. They each have a separate way of teleporting you around the map, while the plasma pistol turns you invisible and allows you to blink around for a certain amount of time before needing a recharge, the flak cannon throws a beacon around where you shoot it dealing minor damage, then when you teleport to it, it explodes. The platforms of the map set you up in a way that you can flip your verticality and end up on the ceiling. A bit of perparation is required before getting used to this, but once you master it, it feels just right. Different firing modes, weapon abilities, and teleport mechanics make different weapons a blast to use. And the map asethetics and design is top notch here, taking notes from the Unreal games and older twitch shooters which is perfect for a game like this.
Nothing else needs to be said other then the fleshing out of this game. More maps, guns, character customizations, custom maps, possible workshop, different game modes, and many more things. It's quite bare bones at the moment but it's a solid foundation for what could become something amazing in the future. If there was an option that said "keep yourself posted on the progress of this game" I would tick that box, but for now it's definitely worth a shot.
Having played games like Fallout VR or Skyrim VR, I like how fast paced the gameplay is in Telefrag. There's a lot of opportunity for skilled movement and reactions, the visuals are really nice and the 3d is clear, easy to read. I hardly had any motion sickness, but it maybe due to my experience with VR, which reinforced my resistance to a quite high level.
I totally recommend this game, especially if you like fast-paced gameplay with nice visuals, it's probably one of the better looking games I've played on PC-VR.
