Story
Five hundred years had passed since the last war.Humanity succeeded in eliminating all forms of war, disease, and poverty, bringing about an era of perpetual peace. However, calamity soon struck.
The sudden arrival of flying objects known as Steel Vampires threatened the entirety of mankind's existence.
On the brink of extinction, the fate of mankind has been left to just a single person.
A man deemed far too dangerous to the sustainment of humanity's serenity. He was cryogenically frozen--his existence nearly erased from history.
His name is... Yoshino Sakurajima.
Gameplay
Vertical scrolling shmup where defeating enemies at close range is key.Relish in destructive power as you fly through a hail of enemy fire!
More powerful weapons can be acquired the more you play.

- Rank increases automatically as time passes!
- Collecting red rank items will increase your rank!
- Collecting green rank items, using Bombs, or losing a life will lower your rank!

As an Akiragoya fanboy, I'd love to spend more time with this game, but I'm too busy playing Yakouga 4.
Akiragoya games are great for beginners without shying away from hardcore elements.
The music is repetitive and the bass sounds really awful. It was grating on me already early on during the games tutorial.
The game wants you to manouver your ship near the top of the screen frequently and murder things almost before they've even appeared. The game is quite zoomed in too. This makes the game a pretty messy affair that I didn't find appealing.
As well as these problems, the game encourages you to mash the fire button rather than hold it down. ..I'm a pretty fast button masher, but even if i try to deliberately pace myself, it's still an unpleasant ask.
So you're sitting near the top of the screen, mashing the fire button and listening to godawful music. Does this sound fun to you?
I've played a lot of great modern shmups, from Jamestown to Zero Ranger to Super Hydorah to Super Galaxy Squadron Ex Turbo. Do yourself a favour and try one of those instead.
